I think I'm the only one who skipped the confession part. SHK is my girl and I don't wanna feel embarrassed for her. I don't wanna see Si Jin's smug face either. Sorry Captain!! Next time maybe? When I have the courage. But of course, I'm happy for you.:D

Actually, they have the  option  to pull the jack from the speaker after realising that it was something personal so that NOT everyone around them can hear the content except those in the room and "us". ;)

BUT THE SCENE I LOVED MORE was between SJ and trapped boy M, whose name I can't quite remember, after the stupid boss caused a collision.

Everything is dark after the opening collapsed.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIkB6smfSko

M: Ajhussi, are you dead?  [then shouts]  IS THERE ANYONE THERE.  THERE IS A DEAD PERSON HERE.

SJ: (slowly wakes up) I am not an ajhussi (old man).

M:  Are you ok?  I thought you died ajhussi.

SJ:  I told you I am not an ajhussi. (as he gets up.) [I love how the lighting changes from the dark to one beam from above hitting both their faces, as if saying have hope and humor even in darkness]

M:  How can that be important right now?[me snickering]

SJ:  THAT is always important. [me guffawing] (sounds of grunts from pain)  Did you get hurt anywhere?

M:  Are you worrying about me?  What?  Look at you, you are bleeding from your wrist right now.

SJ: Your feet has been released.

M:  What is the point of that?  We are still trapped.

SJ: Big Boss - is anyone at central?  Central?  Alpha team?

M: Now connection lost.  We are going to die here. [lighting is darker now around M, highlighting back to the seriousness of their situation]

SJ: We are going to get out of here alive. Hey dude - don't you have family to go back to?

M:  I have no family.  Do you have any? (SJ starts wrapping up his arm.)

SJ: You heard the voice of the woman doctor through the transmission?  I really like her.  But I have been rejected three times already. Slayed but still live. (lighting behind SJ is brighter so it seems not as dark) [meanwhile - I am starting to laugh because this response is so out of place]

M:  (groans) wow, still living. If it was me, I would have just died.

SJ: I will definitely overcome and conquer. [ME - laughing out loud and in admiration]

(scenes when MY is getting ready to go in if there is an opening)

SJ:  That woman right now is outside dying of worrying about me and thinking why didn't I accept his confession?

M:  So you are satisfied right now?

    SJ:  No, worried.

I loved the dialogue and change of pace.  Everything could have been more dramatic in the sense of dire hopelessness, but instead it is dramatic due to the infusion of comedy.  I love it.

Thanks for the insight.  Will be watching the episode again and observe what you have described.

After watching it again with Sub:

Agree with what you have written. I just wish I understand Korean without a need to read the sub since sometimes the translators are not able to translate the real message that the speakers are trying to convey.  The conversation between Captain YSJ and Kang Min Jae was interesting.  In between the seriousness of trying to give hope to KMJ and calm him down he was also able to share his own personal experience with him ( a stranger). Our captain is such an optimistic person.

I do not know about you, but I dearly loved this episode. This episode got nothing but heart. Many of us have been kdrama fans for years, and I know I am not only speaking for myself, but it is quite hard to find dramas that just draw you in these days, when you have watched so many and have seen almost all the same plots and kdrama formulas repeated over and over. I am not implying that DotS does not use those kdrama formulas. But there is a reason why it is popular, and I refuse to believe that it is only because the main actors are beautiful, and look good together, and there is nothing wrong with that notion, but there is so much more things to love about this show. I just want to give this show much more credit than that. There are poignant stories involving side characters and the main ones wrapped beautifully in this episode. That time when Manager Go said that he is happy that he didn't have to go to work, he just have to lie down and look at the sky, despite knowledge of his very imminent death, I love that they showed he still had the strength to see silver linings. These days, many people are so negative about their lives, me included, and it is comforting to watch something like that. That time when Private Ki Bum felt he was useless, and just causing inconvenience, but in the end, was acknowledged by Myeong Joo for his efforts. That time when we realise that the "sexy chick from the bar" isn't just that, but someone who has a good heart, and not apathetic. That time when Mo Yeon learned from Si Jin how important it is to do something despite being in a mess, rather than do nothing at all. That time when Dae Young finally came through for Myeong Joo, at the time she needed it the most. That time when Si Jin and Mo Yeon both acknowledged that they are thankful that they fought beside each other that day. That time when Si Jin practically asked Mo Yeon to think about the possibility of them again, seriously, as serious as he is, impliedly saying, I give up in trying to forget you, so please, try thinking about it. This episode is gold for me. :)

Wow! What a beautiful way to express each character.  I agree with what you said.

Each second has a meaning, can't help analysing what is happening at every moment.

Besides letting us see what is happening to the characters in the drama as an outsider, it also let us see our own perspective, reflects on our belief etc

p.s Good that we have this forum to reflect, exchange ideas and maybe do something about it within our capacity to help the world becomes a better place.

There's one thing I didn't understand though. I thought MY and MJ are both surgeons. But it seemed like MY is the one that made all the life & death decisions - which is kind of unfair to her. So much pressure.

It is tough being a "leader" and a "senior"  ... The responsibility, the decision making, the choice is on you..

(after watching DoTS with the sub, KMY did ask YMJ to make the decision in this case since the patient was hers)

@ayronics Huh that picture must be from ep8 already? It wasn't in the preview, and she's wearing the sweater she'll be wearing in 8. Why do the chinese get their hands on everything earlier lol?

This is the first drama that is shown simultaneously in both countries ;)

As for the KBS streaming site, the Chinese (Mandarin) subs are already there ... but still need the English one :)

I felt it was a solid episode, they have to tie up the earthquake scenes before getting into the two OTPs stories otherwise it would seem weird and disjointed.

    The last part!. :wub::wub:

Me too! Now we are seeing the "professionals" YSJ & KMY practising their principles.

Everyone is playing their character well.

Lots of "touching moments"... will definitely need more tissues after watching DoTS with sub.

KJW is pretty, love her style here. I'm waiting for another war of nerve between her and MY. Ah, I just remember this scne, the one in the earthquake scne, when MY grab the patient but then suddenly MJ snatched him from her while saying let her handle that patient while she can go around helping another one. I found that scene a bit odd, seems like something, like they fought over saving their patients.. is it me to think this too far or it's really has an implication later on.

    Agree with @staygold and @ilovesjk

First time watching, I didn't get that scene.  Later then rewatching, I understood that it was not their "war of nerve" but YMJ really was trying to tell KMY indirectly about LCH. YMJ knows how close they both are from the first day she was there in Uruk. As a team leader, KMY is the right person to deal with her colleague in that situation. (love the situation that the seniors are looking after their juniors here)

We were also shown in the episode later that both YMJ and KMY are able to work together focusing on the rescue mission. Thus, i think their "war of nerve" will be lessened.

Accidentally quoted your post. Sorryyyy..idk how to unquote. Pls just ignore this one. :)

So the next OST is dedicated to our second OTP...smart..considering they'll have quite a lot of moments for the next eps. Jin Goo makes me sad here. :(

It sounds like a good song to me. Can't wait to hear the full vers. One more day to go..^^

Someone did the unofficial MV here  (Credit to Cozeno 1401)
