Episode 169 summary…I really appreciate any corrections to the translation. Hope this is helpful.

SJ and SA walk out of courthouse. SA asks him if he feels good and wants to know why he looks so serious since this is what he wanted. He says there are a lot of things going on so not to say anything to his parents about the divorce. She wants to know if he has anything to say to her since it might be the last time they will ever meet. He tells her to be happy and he’s sorry. He turns to leave and she asks him one last question. She wants to know if he’s ever felt love for her and he turns to her and says good bye.

Scene of SJ in his car upset and crying…scene of SA in her car crying and calling him a jerk and saying she’s going to stop thinking about him.

In the office DP is worried that her parents don’t know about SJ getting fired and maybe it’s better if she tells them sooner rather than later. BH convinces her to not say anything because her parents will just worry and it’s better that SJ breaks the news to them himself. She says okay and then BH gets a call from SA who sounds drunk. SA wants him to meet her so he runs off.

BH finds SA drunk and she tells him she got divorced. He wants to know why, she tells him the jerk wanted a divorce so she gave him one. He wants to know what happened and she gets annoyed and says she just wanted him to carry her home instead of nagging her. Finally she tells him that she divorced SJ because SJ told her that he never loved her and only married her because for her company. She asks BH if he could stay with someone like that.

BH carries her home and she’s mumbling about hurting her grandmother if Granny found out about the divorce and tells him not to tell anyone. BH agrees and tells her to be careful. SA says she’s jealous of him because he and DP seem really happy together. She says their bed is smaller than her bed, their dresser is smaller than hers, DP’s bag is cheaper than hers but DP is happier than her…how could that be she wonders.

BH gets SA home and takes her upstairs and the mom, aunt see them coming in. DJ comes in and wants to know what happened and SA says she should have listened to her grandmother and not married SJ and how is she going to break the news to Granny. Granny and aunt overhear and Granny wants to know what happened and SA cries saying she’s sorry. Aunt takes Granny downstairs and in the hallway DP comes out and finds out about the divorce. Granny tells everyone not to say anything to Mansu about the divorce so as not to shock him. DP asks BH what happened and he tells her that SJ initiated the divorce. DP tries to call SJ but his phone is disconnected. Says not to say anything to her parents and tells her to let SJ break the news to them when he’s ready. DP is worried about her mother when she finds out about SJ getting fired and then divorced.

Granny wants DJ to get BH so she can find out exactly what happened and then BH walks into the room because he is concerned about Granny. Granny sends DJ and aunt out of the room and asks BH to tell her everything SA told him. She wants to know if they are really divorced and he tells her it happened today. She wants to know if it is because SJ got fired and he says he’s not sure. She is upset because she doesn’t know what’s going to happen to SA and he tells her to not get upset because what will happen to SA if Granny gets sick as well. Granny cries and says SA must be so upset that she has to turn to you. Lots of crying and moaning about what will happen to her SA and how upset and lonely her SA must have been.

GT walks out of conference room after finding out that SJ met with the official that he bribed.

JS is at home oblivious and SJ stares at her until she notices him. He tells her that he’s going away for a couple of days for work and came home to pack some things and that he sent SA to her family’s house. JS says SA gets bored without SJ and that she’s more comfortable with SA at her own house so she thinks it was a good idea. SJ sees the contract on the wall and hear SA reciting the contract.

JS comes into the room and wants to know if something has happened because GT has come home and wants to see him right away. GT tells SJ to tell him the truth and wants to know if he’s met with the official and SJ says yes and he’s also had drinks with him. GT asks him if he bribed the man to get the go ahead on the construction site and SJ says yes. GT freaks out and asks him how he could do such a thing and SJ says he had no choice at the time and that if GT had only helped him out then he wouldn’t have had to resort to bribery. SJ tells GT that he will take care of the problem and not to worry and then leaves. GT and JS in shock.

BH and DP go to work and Mansu finds out SA is home. Granny says that she asked SA to come over for a couple of days and Mansu wants to know if things are bad between SA and SJ. Granny goes into SA’s room and SA tells her that she wants to go to Paris to finish her studies and she is going to work hard this time and live well. She asks Granny to pretend like nothing has happened because the deed is done and she doesn’t want to talk about it anymore. SA tells her Granny not to worry about her because she’s really alright. Granny asks if she has to go to Paris because how will she live with SA gone. SA asks Granny to understand this one time. SA thinks if she stays in Korea things will be hard for everyone so she will go away until things blow over and she can get her life started over again and asks Granny to understand. Granny says if that’s what SA wants, okay. Asks if SA has told her dad about the divorce and SA says she is sorry for causing Granny pain and Granny says she is sorry because everything is her fault and SA says stop because it will make her sad.

JY is with her family wanting to know if her outfit looks okay. GJ says “our JY” is gentle and sweet and the adults will love her. MA calls GJ out and asks why GJ would say “our JY.” GJ says she just likes JY and that’s why she said “our JY” then WJ comes in. They’re all set to go to catch their flight. WJ says that he has already told his parents about moving to the US and that his parents are okay with it so MA says great, no more obstacles. DH and Sonia come out to say good bye. Eulso comes running in, relieved he hasn’t missed the departure.

DH and Sonia talk about Jejudo and he says he will take her there on one of their anniversaries as it is a big honeymoon spot because Sonia has never been. Co-owner comes in and says he went to Jejudo on his honeymoon.

Mansu and DJ come into living room with aunt. Aunt says Granny is in her room with a headache wrapper on. SA comes down and says she’s going to Paris and tells her father about the divorce. Mansu gets wheeled into his room and is upset because he says it’s his fault that his only daughter had to get a divorce.

SA come out of a traveling agency having just picked up her ticket to Paris.

GT comes out of a conference room having just resigned and thanks everyone for all their work.

SJ fishing in the forest. He goes back to the hostel and sees that his father has resigned on the news.

Thanks for the wonderful translation! If it wasn't for all the people he hurt I would be ROFL. Looks like SA grew up overnight. I hope they show some lighter moments now and less of JY family.

Yup I mentioned that I would like that first part to happen.

I might be totally wrong but I thought that SJ's dad was taking the blame for his son. The detective thought that either dad used his position to get the permit or SJ did the bribery...either way it was something that either one of them would get in trouble for. I think that by dad doing what he did he may have lost his job but he wouldn't go to jail but SJ can. So I think he gave up his job because by taking the blame SJ stays out of jail. I think that this is the case because after SJ saw his dad on TV he ran back and turned himself in and took the blame for his actions. So of course his dads integrity stays in tact. I mean he always was a man with a squeaky clean image he wouldn't want his doings to ruin his dad. But I can also see him partially doing it because of what SJ did because it would tarnish his image...you know guilty by association.

Granny was crying over Sua's current situation and Bacon was comforting her and so she hugged him back and was crying in his arms.

Can you believe that stupid JS still doesn't understand that SJ did something wrong? I wish she would call Granny witch and hear an earful of screaming. I'm sure as we've seen in the previews she's going to do all she can to make Sua take the bum back.

I have to say that of all the Korean dramas I've seen this is the most melodramatic at the end--maybe Yellow Handerkerchief was too--it just seems that there is so much sadness and not much fun--they could at least let us have a little more love for DP and BH.

I don't think it's just a Korean centric believe. In every parts of the world, parents always get the blame for their twisted children behavior. It's unfair, but what can parents do, it's just the way it is. The first thing to come in people's mind when they hear about a troublemaker is "Where is his parents?" "can't they controll their children, really?" or "it's the way they raised him/her".

From today's episode, I learned:

Getting a divorce in Korea is QUICK!!! It looks like it's a done deal. O_o

In Korea, bribery is a huge crime and can indeed get locked up for it.

I'm not feeling an ounce of sympathy for SA nor SJ. SA has calmed down a lot in recent episodes, but it's a little too late in the game to try and redeem this character for me -- not that I expected it was possible to begin with.

JS... This woman needs to suffer so much more than she THINKS/is acting like she's suffering!!! This character is absolutely repulsive!!! I don't even like her when she's mellow and "nice."

GT... I cried.

With only a few episodes left, I hope they wrap up the angst and let the good guys live in blissful happiness they deserve already!

Regarding the preview... How annoying that MA tells JY about SJ being in jail!!! For someone who wants JY to forget SJ, she has a talent for making JY run to SJ.

JS is not stupid but an IDIOT! She's TOO ARROGANT to admit that her beloved son is nothing than a junk. He hurts many people and now he made his father resign from his job. Poor GT! He works hard for all his life with dignity to get this position but...SJ ruined it just like that.

notice how everyone is so sad yet GT has the best smile he can have

also I know that the bad guys in this drama are as bad as any other but I kind of understand them and their logic

is not like they are completely evil but I think they are a good example of how bad can real people become

they are realistic characters

I have to give some props to the writers for that

Exactly! MA should just disappear in a corner or something. Ever since she let Sonia and her stupid ex-DH live with her under the same roof... btw the whole situation is BLAH... bottom line she annoys me. JY has moved on and finally taking a good step forward. Why help her fall to ground again? JY is not the type that shows off her better stance, especially not to SJ. It scares me seeing her got to jail and visits him. Good bless spoilers and bm, without the picture she posted few pages back, I don't know what my situation will be right now.

BTW, I cried when GT resigned too. I still do. I wished he of all people to not be humiliated like this.
