not to undermine Gee's popularity...i think its still number 1 because isent melon and all the charts and how much people actually download the song??? well i think SNSD gained alot of fans with Gee and ended up downloading the song while on the other hand their old fans bought the album. While with Super Junior most ELF bought the album they had like 150,000 preorders and in less then a week the album sold 44,000 copies so they dominated offline charts...but this is probably the only song I like from SNSD and actually followed their activities with Gee.

and i was just on allkpop and after the Taeyeon and Kangin rumor died down netizens need something else to talk about the digged up century old pics of Jaejoong and Jessica wearing the same ring and claim they are dating. lols

Melon counts all the digital downloads (sales) the artist makes. SNSD has raked in already billion of dollars for SM, song wise 'Gee' was super popular and all those pre-orders were made even without the idea of knowing what their album would sound like which means that the people that preordered were already fans of them, and not based on the content of the album. SM artists always (for the most cases, the more popular groups) have extremely strong fanbases that help with the offline charts, but to be able to score on the online charts has been what SNSD (and a lot of SM artists, to be honest) have been struggling with. For SM to have this incredible hit come from a girl group, none the less, justifies 'Gee's popularity with not only their fans but a lot of people in Korea. I have a lot of friends that say SNSD is like everywhere right now in Korea and everyone is like in love with them. 'Gee' hopefully won't be the peak of their career though, hopefully they'll continue to move up ^^

about the news ofour girls ending their gee promotions, it's kinda sad.. but im glad they will be able to do their own thing now.. and they could rest..

about kangin and taeyeon's issue about the ring.. this was so funny.. i was laughing out loud when i read the news.. these crazy netizens should watch kangji's first epi.. hehehe
