Decided to post just cuz Shinhwa's name was mentioned.^^

I heard the song Evil time. It sounds good. :)

Shinhwa’s 7th member, PS JUN Releases 1st Mini Album

March 11, 2009

PS JUN surprises with the release of his first mini album, ‘Evil Time.’

Before Shinhwa’s debut, PS JUN practiced together with the group and it is also a fact that before Shinhwa was formed he was a close friend of Lee Min Woo. Since they were young, he and Shinhwa’s Lee Min Woo dreamed of being singers together and along with their steady friendship uptill now, the dream of being singers is complete.

After time with Shinhwa passed by, PS JUN also as a member of the groups ‘Valentine,’ and ‘SMAX’ ends the long empty void as new solo singer, PS JUN and because the album is a solo release and not part of any group, it bears an even larger significance.

PS JUN revealed that, “Ahn Joon Young who was part of the group, ‘Valentine’ formed the rock band ‘Larkish’ and currently performs in the Hongdae area among other places,” and “Just like myself, Suho who was a member of ‘SMAX’ is currently active as a solo singer.”

In the meantime, Brian from Fly To The Sky who is also a long time friend of PS JUN participates in ‘Evil Time’ as a featured artist.

Starking with Andy has been postponed supposedly because of baseball. -__-

I'm dying to see Natalie sing with Andy. Its awesome she's a Changjo.^^

Pumashock: I love K-Pop (and so do we all)

nataliewhite_20090311_seoulbeats.jpgYouTubeStar.jpg

After much acclaim for her R&B cover of SNSD’s “Gee”, 27-year-old Natalie White has been flown to Korea and has expressed her love for Korean music.

Natalie, born in Indiana, is currently an amateur singer and music producer. Koreans, who have always been envious of the global success of American music, have flocked to praise a talented American musician who is supportive of their own culture. The papers have praised her for her perceptiveness for commenting that K-Pop has “energy” and makes people want to dance along.

White had apparently been exposed to K-pop for the first time through television ten years ago while attending university. Even though the television in her dorm showed only three channels, one of them happened to be a dedicated channel for Koreans. From watching K-dramas, she became interested in the music too. This is a rather familiar path for a lot of us, no?

She had first become fascinated by Shinhwa, before starting to cover songs by BoA, DBSK, SNSD, Wondergirls, SS501 and May Doni. As you all know, Natalie likes to put her own unique twist to each of the K-pop songs and upload them on YouTube under the username “Pumashock”. Her videos of R&B cover of “Gee” and WonderGirls “Nobody” have amassed over 2.6 million views and is certainly getting K-pop fans around the world excited. Netizens have embraced her videos not withholding praise, saying “she’s the best” and “refreshing”.

Natalie singing “Gee”

White has told Korean press that she wants to debut as a singer in Korea and help the musical exchange between K-Pop the States. She said that she doesn’t want to look special just because she is an African-American singing Korean songs, that she wanted to transcend nationalities and be recognized as a musician. This is unlikely - it is doubtful that an average Korean girl singing a remix Gee on YouTube would have caused such a media maelstrom.

Let’s face it, we the Koreans are looking for validation of our pop culture and that a seemingly-talented American has taken the effort to learn this song and is showering us with compliments is just massaging our bruised egos (after the damp squibs we call Se7en and BoA). Natalie’s been famous for less than a month, and she’s already featured in official government pages from Korea.net to the front page of Dynamic-Korea.com

Even JYP, who brought us the likes of Rain and the Wonder Girls for whom it should be in his interest to promote K-Pop, doubted the existence of the “Hallyu” (the Korean cultural wave), saying last year that if something is good enough to be global, then it’s good enough to be global, it doesn’t have to be Korean. Try telling that to the public who want to believe Rain and “Coffee Prince” are popular in America.

Natalie has fulfilled a small dream that she has cherished for ten years though. On SBS Star King, she managed to meet Andy of Shinhwa in person. She was obviously pleased with the opportunity to perform with him.

Upon hearing her renditions of “Nobody” and “MollaIng”, Yoon Il Sang (former music producer for Kim Beom-Soo, Lee Jung Hyung, COOL, Kim Jong Kook etc) kept praising her: “Natalie has the emotions and singing power unique to black people and has the ability to easily change the feeling of any Korean song at her will… with a little specialist vocal training before debuting, she could become a leading star in Korean music”

If anyone has been waiting for the March 7th edition of Star King! to watch Pumashock in action, you probably already know that it has been postponed because of Korea and Japan waving

sticks and throwing leather lumps (ie baseball) being aired on SBS in Star King!’s slot, so it will apparently air this Saturday instead.

I was going to go to nglkt's YT page to watch some old vids of shinhwa when i noticed it was deleted. I was really surprised, but I'm glad that you're back. I can't believe their 11th year anniversary was coming up. I remember becoming their fan a lil before their 10th year anniversary, I guess I always have good timing for certain things. I'm so happy to be able to say that I've been a fan of Shinhwa for ever a year. Although it's still small compared to others fans, and it's def small compared to the amt of years that Shinhwa has actually been together, it's still something for me to be happy about.

I always remembered how Shinhwa wanted to be known as the group with the craziest interviews, haha, how can people even non fans not see their insanity during interviews? You can have one person talking, and then you can have someone just laughing so much that spit starts to come out *coughdongwancough* LOL, you can have one of the members answering one question,t hen have another (younger) member bring out a fan and aim at the person. hehe, they're just that crazy. Shinhwa, I'm still waiting for the day that you all come back <3

EDIT: first time ever topping a page ^_^

what's shinhwa w/o shinhwa changjo?

orange.jpg

they changed SO much over the years

AND even when Shinhwa isn't there, Shinhwa Changjo never disappoints with being the most well behaved FC out there. (DREAM Concert '08)

It's been a long while since I last posted. So here's a random post. I just want to share some random fancams I saw on YT.

One is Shinhwa in Singapore's Changi Airport on 080906 for the state of art world tour. One of the precious fancam moments, I think. (: I love Wannie's reaction to the crowd in the end! (:

And this one is Jinnie at Guangzhou airport. I love the fans' screams. And how there's some onlookers standing around wondering who's that star people are waiting for. They looked very much amused. And haha, this video is aptly titled "Crazy fan girls". Well, who won't be crazy over them. -.-

my fave SHINHWA video of the week....

c/o nicquenadine

seeing videos like this... it's really impossible just to be a fan of a single member.

even though we all have our faves, i'm sure loving him means loving SHINHWA as a whole.

i miss the boys :(

Honestly, I'm a new Shinhwa fan. Pretty late of me, huh?

Hahahaha...

Well, I developed an interest for Shinhwa ever since I started watching Xman, and they were especially prominent in that show, even though there were only 2 Shinhwa specials.

I'd have to say my fav is Andy coz he's the magnae and closest to my age. To top that off, I find him charmingly attractive as well. ;)

I've been a Kpop fan for about 3 years and the groups that I listen to are all my dongsaengs in a way, so, I'm very happy to have developed a love for a group that I can call oppa. Hahaha..at least it makes me sound that I'm young.

I'd appreciate it if anyone could lead me to a few good interview of Shinhwa available for download coz from what I've watched on youtube, there are a few which are like worth keeping coz they are sooooooo hyperly hilarious!

Since forum rules doesn't let us share dload links, you could email me HERE to let me know.

Thank you!!

^ hey lina! better late than never for sure!^^

Here in Shinhwa thread we like to write in orange. Orange represent! hehe So join us in orange.^^

Xman is a great show and of course you cannot forget Shinhwa on Loveletter Season 1! That is just classic. There is not one show Shinhwa is on you would ever get tired of watching. I have no idea how many times I've seen their LL episodes and when they were on Heroine 6, Xman, YSMM, etc. Anything Shinhwa is on you know it'll be a good time for sure. Ah you like the magnae.^^ He's a total cutie. Ah the magnae on Starking with Natalie White is out!!

Haven't watched it yet.

yeah it was a bit regrettable they didn't sit next to each other, but it was good to see them.^^

Poor Sungie gets no calls from anyone, but then he asks Why did you call when someone does... It makes sense now XDD Andy's reply to why he doesn't call Sungie was cute. Won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.

Thanks for the links everyone! I'm gonna watch them now.

I think we'd all enjoy looking at some Shinhwa pics. You never know if you'll see a new one, one you lost, or one that make you smile like a 바보 ㅋㅋㅋ

I wonder if this song is about Shinhwa Changjo. hehehe

LUV - Orange Girl http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXeuJAe1ZPM

Sadly I could not find translations to that song. I wonder what the lyrics mean.

Man I'd sure like to reach 1000 posts (actually 1100 would be awesome) for Shinhwa's 11th anni. Hmm got some work to do. kekeke

^^ Thank you so much for sharing!

I'm actually quite amazed that Shinhwa has been around for (almost) 11 years!! I was just starting junior high then! And they just finished high school too! (I believe Andy was 17 when they started). And, look at them now!! Even though being a new fan, I can't help but to be proud!

I'm giving their music a chance and I really love Perfect Man and Once in a Lifetime. The songs really reflect their years in the industry.

From what I have 'researched', Eric and Dongwan are serving in the military now. We all know Hyesung is still actively singing and Andy just released his solo as well. Junjin is pretty much likely to succeed as a gagman and Minwoo is very successful as M. Have the other 4 served military? why didn't they go together? At least when they make their comeback, then none needs to go off again?

OMO..I see Vanny09...are you Vanny92 from LJ?? i see nglkt too!i've visited you site! thanx for sharing rare videos of shinhwa!!

It's been a long time everyone!

I just had to get away from Soompi and the stress that revolves around this site.

I came back to the "We Loves Shinhwa" thread just to see how it was doing.

How the fans were doing, of course! :)

A lot has actually happened with the member's individual work.

I don't actually have the time to mention all of them.

But the most recent, would be Hyesung's fan meeting in Taiwan with over 3000 fans.

When I saw the pictures of the fans, it was just breathtaking.

It just makes me want Shinhwa back even more because we know we can show them how strong SHCJ is over the world.

I think it's the same pool hall junjin went to to shoot his "wa" ucc video for one of the infinity challege episodes. or maybe i'm thinking about the introducing friend episode with junjin and andy...or maybe it was the wgm episode with andy and solbi playing pool?...hahaha...either way, that pool hall has been on another show before 'cause i remember thinking it was the coolest thing when i first saw it! i think the owner of the place knows them or something.

Oh my gosh!! thanx so much rose_liana for sharing those links! Honestly, they were REALLY REALLY funny!!

It's surprising that I usually visit the DongBang thread but these few days, I keep coming back to the Shinhwa thread more! And the videos recommended never fail to make me laugh!! It's amazing that most of it are english subbed too!

I know we don't discuss private lives and anything that will create tension in threads but was Minwoo married before? Or maybe I keep confusing their 'married' lives as part of WGM?

If I were to get a concert DVD of Shinhwa, is their 10th anniversary concert available?

I'm currently learning my way around the shinhwa forum at shinhwa.biz for subbed videos of their interviews and variety shows that they were in. Haven't manage to get the Love Letter season that's highly recommended tho. But, I'm sure I will soon!

Since Shinhwa has managed to stay together for so long (partly because they did not renewed their contracts with SM?), I'm wondering if DBSK will share the same success in the future if they followed Shinhwa's footsteps? Because, if both groups can stand the test of time as a group, a double fandom coalition would be HUGE!! I'm not sure how DBSK fans would think about this, but I'd like to here fans of this group. What's your take?
