I can't believe theres not a Hikki thread in here already so I'm gonna start one.

Utada Hikaru is one of Japan's most successful artists of all time, and has sold over an estimated 40,000,000 records. She is completely bilingual as she was raised in both New York and Tokyo. Utada Hikaru is also known in the west under her English language project name 'Utada'. Utada also sang the Kingdom Hearts themes, Hikari / Simple and Clean and the theme songs for Kingdom Hearts II, Passion and Sanctuary. Originally, Utada's music had a heavy R&B style to it, but now her music has progressed to a more pop / experimental tone. Her R&B sound was what brought her so much attention with her first release in Japan, Automatic / time will tell, as there were no other artists with her distinct style. Utada is married to famed director Kiriya Kazuaki, who directed the movie CASSHERN. Currently in Japan she has album sales totalling 23.1 million copies, singles sales of 16.7 million copies and VHS/DVD sales totalling 2.67 million copies sold.

Utada's absolutely amazing, I have all her albums except Precious. I'm supposed to burn Ultra Blue album for a friend... haven't bothered yet. Boku wa Kuma was a pretty cute song, I'm gonna play that for my future children's birthday parties someday.

Whenever someone talks about the singer of the Kingdom Hearts theme song and has no idea who it is, I cough out "HIKKI!"

I bought the Single Collection Vol.1 back in September for someone's birthday, I walked past it at the music store, stopped, turned around and went "HOLY MOTHER."

ooooh cant wait for her new single 'flavour of life' just saw the preview in utube, it shows her recording the ballad version i think...man its gonna be a hit!.....i lurve how shes able to incorperate english into her Japanese music without sounding weird or fobbish, maybe its because shes bilingual and she writes, compose, produce her own music and she has a great record company which give her creative freedom and crontrol over the types of music she produces...danm shes a genious!
