Character descriptions

Joo Ga Ram (Yoon Kye Sang) is the contract coach of Hanyang Physical Education High School’s rugby team. Joo Ga Ram, who was called the hope of Korean rugby, hits rock bottom due to a drug scandal and retires under the stigma of a drug addict. Three years later, he returns to his alma mater’s rugby team as a contract coach and becomes the center of a storm.

 

Bae Yi Ji (Im Se Mi) is the shooting coach of Hanyang Physical Education High School. Bae Yi Ji, who possesses tenacity and a strong mentality, broke down only once in her life: the drug incident of her ex-boyfriend Joo Ga Ram, who ghosted her after causing a drug scandal on the 10th anniversary of their relationship. Amidst the upheaval of her life, Bae Yi Ji works as a player-coach at Hanyang Physical Education High School, and one day, she reunites with her ex-boyfriend Joo Ga Ram, who comes to her school as a rugby coach out of the blue.

 

Yoon Sung Joon (Kim Yo Han) is a 19-year-old student at Hanyang Physical Education High School and the captain of the school rugby team. Yoon Sung Joon is a twin brother whose younger brother is a member of the junior national soccer team. He used to play soccer himself, but due to his lack of talent, he switched to being a rugby player. Yoon Sung Joon envies those with gifted talent but is actually a hard-working person who always trains harder than anyone else, wanting to be recognized for his performance.

Yoon Kye Sang will be starring in a new drama!

On March 28, Yoon Kye Sang’s agency Just Entertainment shared, “Yoon Kye Sang will star in SBS’s new drama ‘TRY: We Become Miracles’ (literal translation).”

“TRY: We Become Miracles” is a drama set in a high school rugby club, and Yoon Kye Sang will play the role of Joo Ga Ram, the school’s rugby coach. Joo Ga Ram is a former national rugby player who retired due to controversy and became a contract coach for his alma mater’s rugby club.

Yoon Kye Sang, who debuted as a member of the group g.o.d in 1999, started his acting career through the film “Ballet Studio” which was released in 2004. Since then, Yoon Kye Sang showcased great acting skills in various projects including the films “Beastie Boys,” “The Outlaws,” and “Mal. Mo. E – The Secret Mission” as well as the dramas “The Greatest Love,” “The Good Wife,” and “Crime Puzzle.”

Im Se Mi may be starring alongside Yoon Kye Sang in the upcoming drama “TRY: We Become Miracles” (literal translation)!

On June 12, XportsNews reported that Im Se Mi had been cast in the new SBS drama “TRY: We Become Miracles.”

In response to the report, a representative from Im Se Mi’s agency noon company shared, “Im Se Mi is currently in positive discussions to star in ‘TRY.'”

“TRY: We Become Miracles” is a drama set in a high school rugby club. Previously, it was confirmed that Yoon Kye Sang will play the role of Joo Ga Ram.

Joo Ga Ram is a former national rugby player who retired due to controversy and now takes on the role of the school’s rugby coach.

'Try' is a story about young people who risk their lives just by running and playing ball, and become miracles themselves by hitting the world with their whole bodies. It is Korea's first sports drama about rugby, and it is a collaboration between director Jang Young-seok, who co-directed the drama 'Model Taxi 2', and writer Lim Jin-ah, who won the best work in the SBS Cultural Foundation script contest.

 

Bae Myung-jin plays the role of Ma Seok-bong, who helps the rugby team that has no coach. Ma Seok-bong was a member of the Hanyang Physical Education High School rugby team with Garam (Yoon Kye-sang), but due to an injury, he changed his career path and now runs a small restaurant in front of Hanyang Physical Education High School.

 

Bae Myung-jin has appeared in numerous plays and musicals, building up solid acting skills and experience.
