Character descriptions

Baek Sa Eon (Yoo Yeon Seok) is the youngest spokesperson of the Blue House and a promising young politician. As a former news anchor with a prominent career, he has everything, from an elite family background to appearance and abilities. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he receives a phone call informing him that his wife has been kidnapped.

Hong Hee Joo (Chae Soo Bin) is  Baek Sa Eon’s wife and a sign language interpreter, who developed aphasia after experiencing a major incident in her childhood.

Actor Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin are possibly the next MBC K-drama couple.

On March 13, media outlets reported that Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin have been picked to lead the upcoming MBC K-drama titled The Number You Have Dialed (working title). 

Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin's agency King Kong by Starship shared their side regarding the casting reports through the media outlet NewsN. According to the agency, "The K-drama was offered to Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin and they are currently reviewing the offer." 

The Number You Have Dialed is a romance K-drama that tells the story of a show-window married couple. One is a presidential spokesperson and the other is a sign language interpreter. The two started their love story through a threatening phone call. The story will be based on a web novel of the same name. 

The upcoming K-drama will exclusively air on MBC.

 

Yoo Yeon Seok got the offer to play the role of Baek Sa Eon. He works as a presidential spokesperson. 

If Yoo Yeon Seok confirms his casting, this will be his return to romance K-dramas. Last year, he led the K-drama A Bloody Lucky Day with Lee Sung Min, Lee Jung Eun, Hong Xa Bin, Lee Kang Ji, and Tae Hang Ho. He also made a special appearance in the hit K-drama Dr. Romantic Season 3. He also starred in the movie My Heart Puppy. 

Chae Soo Bin on the other hand got the offer to portray the role of a sign language interpreter.

If Chae Soo Bin decides to join the series, this will be her comeback to K-dramas after almost two years. The actress is also expected to star in the upcoming KBS K-drama Treat Her with Caution.

Based on a web novel, “The Number You Have Dialed” (literal translation) depicts the romance of a couple that married for convenience as they receive a threatening phone call.

Yoo Yeon Seok will play Baek Sa Eon, the youngest spokesperson of the Blue House and a promising young politician. As a former news anchor with a prominent career, he has everything from an elite family background to good looks and abilities. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he receives a phone call informing him that his wife has been kidnapped.

Chae Soo Bin will take on the role of Baek Sa Eon’s wife Hong Hee Joo, a sign language interpreter who developed aphasia after experiencing a major incident in her childhood. One day, Hee Joo gets kidnapped by a stranger, and it awakens her to change her outward show of matrimonial bliss.

“The Number You Have Dialed” is scheduled to air on MBC as a Friday-Saturday drama.

Yoo Yeon-Seok & Chae Soo-Bin are cast in MBC drama series “The Number You Have Dialed” (literal title). The drama series is based on web novel “Jigeum Geoshin Jeonhwaneun” by Geoneomulnyeo and directed by Park Sang-Woo (“My Secret, Terrius“). In the romance-mystery drama series, Yoo Yeon-Seok and Chae Soo-Bin will play a couple in an arranged marriage. They are not in love with each other, but their feelings change after the wife is kidnapped.

Baek Sa-Eon & Hong Hee-Joo got married largely due to convenience. For the past 3 years, they haven’t communicated with each other or have meals together. They pretend they are a happily married couple. One day, Hong Hee-Joo is kidnapped by an unidentified person. This changes their marriage life.

Jang Gyuri may be joining Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin in an upcoming drama!

On June 27, it was reported that Jang Gyuri will be starring in MBC’s upcoming drama “The Number You Have Dialed” (literal title) as one of the lead roles.

Approached for a comment regarding this, MBC stated, “From what we know, she has received the offer for the drama and is reviewing it positively.”

Based on a web novel, “The Number You Have Dialed” portrays the romance of a couple who entered a marriage of convenience three years ago, living without much communication until they receive a threatening phone call from a kidnapper.

Yoo Yeon Seok stars as Baek Sa Eon, a former news anchor who is now the youngest spokesperson of the Blue House. His life takes a sudden twist when he receives a phone call informing him that his wife has been kidnapped.

Chae Soo Bin plays Baek Sa Eon’s wife Hong Hee Joo, a sign language interpreter who developed aphasia after a childhood trauma.

Jang Gyuri has been reportedly offered to star as Na Yoo Ri, an announcer who stans Baek Sa Eon. As the story unfolds, she also becomes intertwined with Hong Hee Joo.
