I am laughing again with the bathroom saga incident and how they refilmed again. These guys are soo ridiculous hahaha...I love jaehong more and more. Now he's on the same place as Donghwi ( uri oppa still on the top off course. ) I agree with NA PD that he's the best of variety amongst the 4. Because Junyeol are too smart hahaha...he's not really good for variety. He's on the same par with YYS which made the staff jobs easier but viewer think too easy.

And Junyeol sleep on the driver seat so he sit on that seat like....15 hours ??? He's really remind me of my late father who keep asking us to sleep even though he himself also sleepy and tired and must still drove. Thank you for consideration  jaehong to accompany oppa not to sleep during the drive. Still, junyeol's energy match to no one. He was the fastest to the top and enjoy the view with the vj.

Kyungpyo seems the most carefree soul amongst them hahaha...he and jaehong are the best duo dorky...

Ryu new amazing scenes from ep. 2 of YOF 
this namja is going to ruin my life with how wondrous he is everytime I saw him... there's no limit to his charm 

There were so many great scenes that it's hard to choose which one I should comment first 

So I'll call this post:

OPPA AND... 

• Oppa and english jokes... this is so funny:

first at the reception of the hotel he tried to be very casual while booking a room but he failed so bad. He said to the receptionist "never mind these people" while talking about the crew but that only made her suspicious so she said "that sounds confusing" and oppa made that awarkard laugh... casual english joke = failed this time... sorry oppa. 

But the best joke was at the campsite later with Clever. So there was this local that helped our boys ( I'll talk about this too) and his name is Clever... of course oppa showed again his knowledge with this joke "You're very Clever, right? Very Clever... genius right?"... OMG that's epic and even if I'm sure Clever heard that joke 100 times he couldn't help it, he laughed with oppa... this is one of my favorite moments from ep. 2 for sure 

 

• Oppa and the shower video:

by now everyone knew that, thanks to AJH opening a closet, this perfect moment happened for real. Oppa didn’t notice the camera until after he’s done so when he pointed that out AJH and KGP started to laugh like 2 crazy men. This is already a famous scene for oppa's fans and what I read about this video is that many were disappointed for it being cut from YOF... ahahah you bad girls we can't share oppa's naked body freely but... I totally agree, what a pity   

Anyway the boys reshoot the scene with oppa dressed inside the shower when he found out the camera... their attempt to erase that mistake is just so cute... since they put effort into this I'll share a photo from the dressed moment

 

• Oppa and the short career as a personal shopper:

really he did somethings well but also one thing not so well: accomplishment = he helped and bought clothes for all the boys like a pro... failure = he was there when KGP chose his fuchsia tank top and if I'm not mistaken that thing is a woman tank top   

I love GKP a lot since "Operation Proposal" but really? that was the best thing in that store?

At least they had fun buying that  and oppa proved one more time that he is a mix of innate qualities and developed skills that define his leadership style... he is so cool  

 

• Oppa and the boyish attitude: 

well... boys will be boys, right?

First of all he wanted to drive off-road and the fun all of them had... there's that time when AJH applauded oppa for a very animated (scary and dangerous in my mind) moment where the car jerked a lot... these foolish boys 

Then Ryu running barefoot in the desert and having the best time of his life... it's a beautiful scene to watch and it made me happy just looking.

And then Ryu taking the camera from the cameraman and starting to film him running so he can have some fun too, that's it... I have never see a more thoughtful and mindful of others person on a reality show, I love him 

 

• Oppa and Disney quotes:

how much I love him when he uses Disney to pinpoint african animals. Last week we had Pumba and this time Bambi LOL. 

Ok, Bambi moment is too funny for me because right before he saw Bambi there was "Chuno" OST playing 

OMG I recognized Chuno OST right away so I was expecting something serious or dangerous because Chuno is a really intense drama, but then... Bambi's moment happened   

How simple and honest this man is... I think in the same situation I too would have used Disney, it's such a spontaneous reaction  

I love that he loves Pumba and Bambi so much that he took a pic of them

Ok, I'm joking... but seeing Africa with a Disney POV is really awesome 

 

• Oppa and the fire:

don't get strange ideas I'm talking about a real fire, the one they needed to cook.

AJH went shopping for food with PBG and he also bought a pot, but he didn't think about the fire so of course uri leader made the decision to ask help from a camping group near them because they don't have the "Push the button, strong fire" - this is the first time oppa is so lost while talking in english  - anyway the boys didn't starve thanks to oppa borrowing half the things the camping group had: woods, mini table, knife and chairs ( not sure if they got the mini table and the chairs in the end but oppa asked for them too).

Maybe it would have been faster if they just started to cook their dinner at their place lol

Anyway they started the fire and with oppa intuition to lower the grill they had a good dinner... Ryu you saved the day again, good job 

 

• Oppa and his father:

This moment he shared with PBG is really intense, I wasn't sure about what they were talking about and I was touched... then I read what he said about his father and debts and it made me even more happy that I'm liking him. 

Being a good son show how caring he is in real life and even if we all already know it this is a new piece of information to appreciate him fully

 

And now I just want to talk a little about the other person that I'm loving in YOF... OK I love them all but AJH is the best after RJY

• AJH buying food: chicken... live chiken  I was almost expecting he end up with a chicken alive 
• AJH snoring in the desert: really just listening to him snoring is funny and from what I saw of the next ep preview he will keep snoring... I don't envy the boys that tried to sleep with that sound in the room 
• AJH drinking: I saw it at the press conference and then he did it 2 more times in ep.2... he spills everything he drinks. I saw the beer and the water moments and he spilled both... these are just unintended comic moments but still this man is fun with everything he does 
• AJH bromance: wow, the best couple in YOF is AJH and KGP couple... sorry YEOLGUM but these boy are always together having fun on their on... how they laughed at oppa shower incident or how they shared that moment in the desert... let me tell you this ship is sailing 
• AJH's pants: OMG he spent most of the time in Africa like that, with pants that are ripped... this is too hilarious, I love him 

I'm thankful that this photo was taken so I can have fun with AJH's pants now

And that split is fantastic.

I'm amazed he managed to do it like that... I'll never be able to do something like that

 

Can't wait for the next episode... Africa is such a beautiful place to see and seeing it thanks to this group I'm loving every second of YOF

Youth over Flowers- Africa Episode 2

Part 1: Thankgiving (in Africa, in February, (January?))

They start off with scenes from the previous episode, until finally, they show us that the F3 have safely arrived at the hotel/inn place they're staying at. They show us a flashback scene where they had come here earlier to reserve their rooms, and while JY talks to the woman behind the desk, he tells her "Never mind these people," gesturing at JH, GP, and the cameramen. A room costs N $1,150 ($71 USD). They see their room, and JY and GP are surprised by the very open interior concept. Their room has a sleeping arrangement for 3, a shower, a sink, and a toilet, all in open view (there is exactly one door, the one into the shower, and even that is clear). JH solution is "Hey, just poop. What, are you guys going to look?" They fast-forward to a later scene where JH has to go, but checks all of the camera's angles first (there are three), and the hidden camera specialist even comes in to assure him that nothing will show (ㅋㅋㅋ). Later, in that same scene, JY takes one of the underpants they bought earlier and goes to shower. JH takes off his hat that he'd been wearing all day and opened one of the closet doors right next to the open-concept bathroom to put it there. He had forgotten that one of the cameras had been attached to the top of the doors, and left it open. JY comes out of the shower, sees the camera pointing straight at him, and says to JH, "Hey! Hey, you %@#$&." Surprised, JH and GP look up, and notice the camera too (OMG!!! ROTFL!!!!!).

 

JH closes the door and the two start cracking up. The only one not laughing is JY, and JH shows him how the camera got repositioned. They call in the hidden camera PD in again, who erases it for them. They reenact the scene, this time with JY fully clothed. GP laughs even more at the reenaction, if that's possible. JY thinks it's funny this time too.

They lay on the beds, figuring out how they were going to pick up BG tomorrow. They decided to drive over to the airport when BG called to tell them that he arrived. Then they discussed the schedule for the rest of their trip in Africa. They figured out a basic outline: from Windhoek, they would drive to Sossusvlei (a major visitor attraction in Namibia located in the Namib Desert, the one with Deadvlei, the place with a lot of salt), and from there to Swakopmund (another Namibian city, on the western coast), from there to Etosha National Park (located in northwestern Namibia, a game reserve/park containing hundreds of species of birds, mammals, and reptiles), and from there to Victoria Falls. (Wow, I feel like a travel guide myself, though I got most of that from Wikipedia, ㅋㅋㅋ.) In total, this road trip will be 2513 kilometers long. JY and GP are lying on the beds, and JH asks if they want to drink a beer, and decides that they should all have a bottle and sleep. JH opens the bottles and tells JY that he's worked hard. JY said that the hard parts were over, and JH answers that they've conquered a big mountain, and spills his beer all over himself or something. The YoF team shows us a previous scene when BG first told his hyungs that he missed the plane, and after calling them, BG sits at the airport, rebuking himself for missing the plane. This is the first time something like this has happened to the film crew either, and they show us a man talking on the phone. There's a long line of people waiting to check in, at which BG is the last person standing in, and he wonders if all of these people missed their planes too. He tells the person standing in line, "We missed the flight." He repeats himself to the man, who looks confusedly at this weird Asian guy that is suddenly talking to him, and answers, "We missed the flight from domestic, and then international also." (Lol, the way he says it so casually). The two people who missed their planes give each other a high five. The YoF team shows us how the line only moved forward two feet in 30 minutes. BG's legs are starting to get stiff, and he takes one shoe off to wiggle his toes around (ㅋㅋㅋ). Suddenly, a little girl appears from behind her mother, who is standing at the neighboring check-in station, and BG waves at her. She waves back, and BG waves again, this time more enthusiastically, and earns himself another wave from the girl, who copies him. Later, they're sitting next to each other at one of those ring-couches-that-surround-a-column-thingy that every airport has, and BG asks what her name is. The adorable little girl bursting with aegyo answers him and tells him her name, which I didn't catch, and neither did BG, who turns around to tell the cameraman that she's too cute. BG tells her "Nice to meet you, " and shakes her hand (반갑구먼~ 반가워요~  *badly wants to insert the Kim Sajang greeting gif*). After playing with her a little, he asks her if she would like to take a picture with him, and she nods (her mom is right next to them, smiling, so it's okay). After taking his picture, BG tells her to wait "Just a second!" and hands her something, saying "It is my present for you!"  It's a souvenir gift that he got at the airplane, and she thanks him (even her voice voice is adorable!). Her mom tells her that she has to say bye now, and cool as ever, she leaves cheerfully, taking her mother's hand and jump/skipping away. Looking at the selfie they took together, BG commented that this girl really knew how to find her angles. Finally, he gets checked in, and angel that he is, he apologizes to the camera crew for troubling them. His room is big and awesome, and worth the time he spent waiting on the line (his bathroom is open-concept too ㅋㅋㅋ). He shows the camera a text he got from GP, in a group chat called "Youth over Flowers." It said, "Bogum-ah, if you read this text after you wake up tomorrow, please call us. If we get your call right after you arrive, we'll go over to pick you up while you go through all of the procedures. Whatever happens, call us after seeing this text and wake us up." He texts back "Hyung" "I saw the text" "Did you wake up?" "Good morning (in English)." BG was getting ready to shower, when suddenly he went back to call someone on the room phone. He called room service for more shampoo, soap, and towels (there were only one of each, and not enough for him and the PD who he was sharing a room with). Assured, he pulled off his shirt and drew the curtains around the bathroom area (a luxury the F3 don't have), and began to shower. Suddenly, a knock sounds at the door, and then again. BG goes out with only a towel around his waist to answer the door. It's an employee, who came with the towel, shampoo, and soap he requested. One shower later, BG lays in bed, toweling his hair with what is either the blanket he's going to sleep under or a super big white towel (I hope it's the latter). He looks at his phone for a minute, and soon falls asleep. It's morning in Windhoek, and first thing in the morning, JH takes a picture of a still sleeping JY and GP (ㅋㅋㅋ). JY wakes up, stretches, and brushes his teeth, while GP still squirms in his bed, and JY comments that GP slept in his jeans. While folding something big and brown, JH asked GP after he got up, "You saw the breakfast, right?" GP answers, "No, I didn't." JH says, "I saw it," and GP crouches down on his knees, laughing at his food-loving hyung (he left to see what was for breakfast before GP even got up, lol). Laughing himself, JH says, "Now you're making me feel weird," "Was that an answer or what?" "Was that an affirmation or a denial?" (GP is still laughing). Later, now with a cap on, JY gives GP his toothbrush, and JH asks him in English, "How are you feeling today?" He nods and says "Good." He motions to the window and says "and this is Africa. Follow me." Pushing the curtain aside, they saw... an exhilarating electricity wall, (featuring, not yet dry underwear), ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ (don't ask, that was the caption the YoF team gave us). Out in the balcony with the cameraman, JH said, "We didn't get to sleep much, but maybe because of the good air, I feel refreshed." While he's refreshed, he starts doing tai chi, and then goes back inside to eat breakfast. JH said that he was really looking forward to going to the desert, and had searched it up in the morning after he woke up. Then they show us a flashback scene where still in bed, JH was telling JY that he was looking up Sossusvlei. JY asked how it was, and he answered, "They say it has the most enchanting/enrapturing sunset in the world." JY says, "We're watching a sunset today? I think tears are coming, even in my imagination I think tears are coming. I wonder what it would be like in real life." Back at eating breakfast, the "youths" are filled with expectation, and JY says that they should just go to Sossusvlei without changing drivers, and they do a fist-bump-type thing.

After getting permission from an employee, JH takes the leftovers from breakfast. He even takes spring water in an empty container (they're poor and on a budget). Back in their room, they pack their bags, and even the staff member thinks it's funny that they're taking the leftovers. Meanwhile, BG is sleeping in the airplane after waking up at dawn to get on his plane, and they show him getting off. He arrives safely at Windhoek, and as promised, he calls his hyungs. Also as promised, they come to pick him up, and as they're packing Mundongie's trunk, they get BG's call. BG took care of everything and the others only have to come. They speed over on Mundongie to pick him up, and as JY points out, the view is awesome. They arrive at the airport, and BG spots their car, and with a huge smile on his face, he picks up his bags to run over to them. After greeting the staff (of course), BG tries to get on the car, but those evil hyungs decide to have some fun and pretend to drive away. They finally stop, and help him get his things in the trunk, and give BG well deserved hugs. Inside the car, they grasp hands, and the Flower 4 is complete. Then BG whips off his hat to greet Na PD. Starting the car, JY asks BG if he has any underwear. BG answers that he doesn't, and JY, teasing him with the trick they planned out while they were packing their bags at the hotel/inn, said "We decided to go without the underwear. It's too hard on our budget." JH chimed in and offered up that underwear is super expensive in Africa. GP, sitting next to BG, said "To explain our situation right now, JY and I are panty-less. If you look back you'll know, but something's hanging up back there." Covering his mouth, BG falls for it. JH tells BG that this car has a name, and tells him to guess what it is. They give him three hints: 1) white, 2) JH named it, and 3) it ends with "dongie." He guesses "Heedongie?" (LOL!!!). They give him a fourth hint: something I didn't get, and somehow, BG gets it right this time. JH asks him "Doesn't Mundongie go well with the white concept?" and BG agrees. JY says "Don't agree to things that don't make any sense! We've decided not to go with any concept. Showing what is there, not caring about the cameras." Then the YoF team show us "natural concepts," that they didn't make up, for each of them. BG's natural concept was "eating a lot on his own and taking care of getting his own food". GP's natural concept was "being the money manager even though it doesn't suit him". JH's concept was "being the same age as JY but seeming like an ahjusshi." JY's concept was "English comes out first when overseas." (Explanation: on their ride, their plane jerked forward, and JY yelled "OH MY GOD!" and JH said he thought he was sitting next to a foreigner.) JY asked about their dinner, and they show us a flashback when still in the car, right after picking BG up, JH explained to the others that he would be cooking a chicken. JH was worrying about the ingredients and their costs, and decided not to even buy a utensil for holding the meat, to save money. They arrive at the shopping mall, and split up into two teams. GP is in charge of finding a tent and clothes, and JH obviously has to find his foodstuffs. In an interview, when asked what he considers most important when he goes shopping, JY answered "Its practicality. Usually when I go shopping, I find something I like and come back the next day, after a lot of thinking." GP and JY went off to find clothes, and JY found a store that he liked and told GP, "It's heaven here. It's really good." Laying down his usual shopping procedures, JY found lots of clothes that fit the bill, in both ways. JY found GP standing at a rack labeled, "priced to go," and GP held up a pink/purple tank top, saying "Doesn't this seem like it would feel cool wearing this?" (it was a women's shirt, BTW). After finding out that it was cheaper than the other clothes, GP (who they now call 'Go cashier') decided to get the purple shirt. JY tries to convince GP to at least try it on before buying it, so he does. An employee also tries to tell GP that it's a women's shirt, and GP says that he knows, and goes in the dressing room to wear it anyway. GP comes back out to model for JY who says that it actually looks okay, until he sees the back and says "Did you see the back?" GP answers that he did, and JY just gives up and says, "Sure, if you saw it then whatever." The guys find a tent, and though they were thorough with clothes shopping, they just choose the first tent they saw. Meanwhile, Chef Bong and BG are food shopping, and JH explains to an employee, "I find chicken!" "Live chicken!" (?!?!?!) While JY and GP were very money-conscious, JH and BG just piled on the food in their cart, buying things like curry, mushrooms, chicken, etc. It was BG's job to type down the ingredients and their individual costs on his phone. For some reason, there were also Crocs sandals in the cart, and JH told BG that he also bought something called "Magic Salt." After shopping, BG stood in line to pay, and JH went off to find a good pot. He chose his pot based on the sound it made when he opened it, and the YoF team showed us how over time, JH's bright shiny pot became thoroughly blackened (with his fork, spoon, and Magic Salt inside). Both teams finished their shopping missions and returned to the car. JY and GP distributed the clothes, and they began their drive to Sossusvlei. They show us absolutely stunning pictures of Sossusvlei. Excited, the F4 all grasp hands again and yell "Yaayyy!!!"

JH and JY sing, "We're going to the desert~". JH checks that BG has sunglasses, and then fixes the clock's time at BG's request. BG thanks him, and they all start talking about how thankful they are to be together on this trip. In a later interview, GP said that sitting next to BG, the kindness rubbed off onto him. He said that "thank you" were the magic words. JY comments on the beautiful sky, and GP looks out his own window and marvels over the view. It's so amazing that they stop to take pictures and selfies. Instead of "cheese~" or "kimchi~" they say, "Africa~" (ㅋㅋㅋ). Back on the road, it isn't long before the asphalt road gives way to a dirt off-road. The F4 are very satisfied with this change. Like little boys, they "woah!" over every bump they rumble over, and JH said that he wanted to go over one that would make the car jump/fly midair. Yelling as if they're riding a roller coaster (if you're careful, you can see their sunglasses jump too, once), they speed over the dirt road, waving at the camera crew in the other car. The dust from the car makes it hard to see for a moment, but JH points out another "Pumba," and they yell when they see a monkey run/gallop over the road. The YoF team tells us that they're baboons. JH wonders out loud what would come out next, and JY says they should do a guessing game. JH's guess: a weird bird. GP's guess: a rhinoceros (FYI, they're endangered). JY's guess: a giraffe. BG's guess: an elephant. JH says that something should be appearing right about now, and JY spots something in the road. They were all wrong, because they're a herd of goats (*cue classic Reply goat sound*), and the Reply goat sound actually does come out (lol). GP bleats at them, and thinks he sees a mountain goat/sheep, but the YoF team tells us that it's the horned-animal-I-couldn't-name-from-last-time. JH calls it a Thompson's gazelle (which looks close, but not quite). Driving again, they see another animal. JY calls it Bambi (ㅋㅋㅋ), and JH calls it a gazelle. JY says it looks really pretty, but all I see is a moving dot. The YoF team helpfully informs us that it isn't Bambi, nor a gazelle, but a springbok (it is pretty). Driving for five more hours, they finally arrive at the camp site. Still in the car and leaning over JH, JY asks someone, "We wanna see a sunset," and then I can't hear what he's saying. But the Korean subtitles translating his English say that he's asking if they have to go in this way if they want to see the Sossusvlei sunset, and the man says to come in and ask another employee. JY answers "Thank you, thank you. Thank you so much." The place they're going to stay in tonight is the Sesriem camping site, which is really high quality, with clean (!) bathrooms and even a small pool. The YoF team show us the Deadvlei (translated into Dead Marsh, though people also call it Dead Valley), and Sesriem Canyon from down below, with tourists walking on sand dunes. JY says to the woman behind the desk, "Yes, I want to stay here." "One day." "So four persons how much?" The woman tells him, N $1050. She also tells him that the sunset view is good on Elim Dune, and the sunrise is good on Dune 45. JY wants to know how far it is, and she answers that it's about 4.5 km away. Back in the car again, the F4 head to Elim Dune, and while JH pretends to interview JY about going to see the sunset, in the backseat, BG feeds GP a chocolate bar. They drive along another dirt road, and stop when they see a lot of people, parking the car because they figure that this is Elim Dune. Taking some things out of Mundongie's trunk, they start walking, and the YoF team show us a fast-forward version of the sunset, and then show us the star-filled night sky.

JH is panting already as he films himself, and GP stops to take pictures. BG crawls up the dune, and JY strolls up with a camera in tow. GP has to help up an exhausted JH. JH holds up sand in his hands and lets it blow out from his fingers, and drops the rest of it. BG goes over to JY who has a thorn or a splinter stuck in his foot, but JY just pulls it out and walks away, smiling. They push and pull each other up, until finally, they reach the top. Or, BG and JY reach the top, while GP and JH are still climbing. JH tells the camera that he thinks he's thirstier after eating the chocolate bar BG gave him. They finally catch up, and JH collapses next to BG, while GP is still busy filming them. BG has the camera now, and as GP takes pictures on his phone, he films himself and JH. JY stops to take some pictures too. 

GP tries the sand thing JH did, and takes a picture of that too. JH, BG, and GP are sitting on the sand, and GP sends a digital message to his future self by talking to the cameraman, and next to him, JH and BG clap. JH tells his future self to never forget this day, and BG tells his future self to always be thankful. In unison, all three of them yell, "Aahh~ I feel thankful!" 

And that's the end of part 1.

He's so good at running on sand! LOL. Look at the difference in the amount of sand they bring up behind them as they run ^^

The bathroom camera scene was so funny. JH literally froze for a couple of seconds and it was so funny hearing JY swear hahahaha

Oppa was so cute when borrowing things from Clever hehe. They're lucky that Clever is such a nice guy ^^
