Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2014 – August Week 3

Recommended Posts

There is another log jam on top of our chart this week, but SISTAR’s “Touch My Body” managed to stay on top for the second straight week.  This song scored another three music show wins on KBS Music Bank, M!Countdown, and SBS Inkigayo this past week. Despite not scoring as high as last week, it is still good enough to be our No. 1 song again. Congratulations to SISTAR.

Only one point separates the No.2 and No. 3 songs. Moving up two spots to No. 2 is Block B’s “HER.” The song is very steady on all chart sources, enabling it to take the second spot this week.  Meanwhile, Girl’s Day’s former No. 1 song “Darling” drops one spot to No. 3 this week.

There are two new songs in the top 10 this week, both are solo tracks by female group members. Just below the top three is HyunA of 4minute.  Her latest hit “Red” is from her third mini-album “A Talk.”  The song is tailor-made for HyunA’s sexy style.  It has catchy melody and additive chorus part.  This week it moves up 10 spots to No. 4 and its score is within striking distance of No. 1. Let see if it will moves into the top three next week.

Wonder Girls’ Yeeun also released her first solo mini-album “Me?” under the stage name of HA:TFELT. Her title song “Ain’t Nobody” moves up 15 spots to No. 6 and it is her first solo top 10 hit.  “Ain’t Nobody” is a very unique song with a fusion of dub-step, rock ballad, and trap.  It is very different from any Wonder Girls songs.  Yeeun co-wrote this song herself.  The lyrics are about a woman going through her complex emotions after breaking up with her boyfriend.
