Newsie Posted May 5, 2014 Share Posted May 5, 2014 On May 5, Children's Day in Korea, MBC aired the "2014 New Life for Children" show to help children with leukemia and childhood cancers. "New Life for Children" is a donation program that has been going on for 23 years, helping children with leukemia and childhood cancers. It has helped around 9000 children and raised about 33.2 billion won (32 million USD) over the past 23 years. Various K-Pop idols went on stage, appearing on television to sing for the first time in about three weeks since the Sewol Ferry tragedy. They wore sombre clothes and sang among a subdued atmosphere, choosing to sing slow-paced or ballad songs. A Pink, INFINITE, Teen Top, Hyorin, and BESTie were among the performers.
