Yoon Kye Sang and Han Ji Hye's drama, "Beyond the Clouds," received rather low ratings for its premiere.

KBS 2TV drama "Beyond the Clouds" aired its first episode on January 17 and received a viewership rating of 3.7%. This was a 2.4% drop from the 6.1% ratings its predecessor, "Prime Minister and I," received. Knowing that the drama will air in a very competitive time slot, "Beyond the Clouds" had tried to be strategic in its opening by airing its first two episodes together. However, the second episode received and improved, but still low, rating of 5.1%.

With Yoon Kye Sang and Han Ji Hye leading the cast and a solid story line, "Beyond the Clouds" doesn't lack in star power or storytelling, but its starting at a time when its competitors have already developed a strong and loyal following. Number one for its time slot is "Empress Ki" with a very strong 26.5%. "Kind Words" (also known as "A Word From a Warm Heart") came in second with 11.2%.

Despite its dismal start, the drama is expected to pick up. The drama has an intriguing story about Jung Se Ro (Yoon Kye Sang), who lost his father in a murder case involving stolen diamonds in Thailand. Along with that interesting character background, the love story between him  Han Young Won (Han Ji Hye) will bring an intensity to the story due to his involvement in the death of her fiance.
