Will And Kate Grace The Cover Of Vanity Fair

Posted on Tue May 31, 2011 09:55 AM PDT

WILLIAM-KATE-VANITY-FAIR.jpg

Newlyweds Will and Kate are looking every bit the picture perfect couple on the July cover of Vanity Fair magazine.

The couple, photographed by Mario Testino, tied the knot on April 29 in Westminster Abbey with an estimated 23 million people watching. A Palace aide tells VF writer Katie Nicholl:

"It was just the two of them, and they were so excited to actually see it on the television. Harry joined them afterwards, and they were all in high spirits."

A source close to the couple adds:

"William wanted the honeymoon to be a secret. By going back to work before leaving for their honeymoon, they were able to escape. It was a deliberate decoy."

The royal couple enjoyed a honeymoon in the Seychelles.

Elegant Kate is a winner in the sartorial stakes at the derby

06 JUNE 2011

The royals were out in force on Saturday for the Epsom derby, with the whole family present to cheer on the Queen.

But all eyes were on the Duchess of Cambridge, who was certainly strides ahead of the rest of the competition in the sartorial stakes.

The brunette was super chic in a white chiffon Reiss dress (£195) paired with a white tweed Joseph jacket (£460) and nude LK Bennett courts (£175).

kate-2-z.jpg

The Chanel-style shape oozed relaxed elegance. And the short, floaty chiffon dress - which showed off her perfect pins - added a flirty touch to the ensemble.

kate5--a.jpg

kate8--a.jpg

To top off the regal look, the 29-year-old chose a Forties-inspired asymmetrical chignon that sat underneath a cappucino-hued fascinator.

kate4--a.jpg

She was accompanied by husband Prince William, who looked dapper in his top hat and tails.

i think she is perfect in her own way. beautiful.

people may think that she is lucky to get William, but i think it's the other way around.

Ehh I don't want to sound like a female dog here but Kate just gives me a bratty feeling about her. I've read some haters comments about her and they do have some good points.

1. She's more committed to jet setting the world then her former various jobs (I read this from an article but if you look at her work history it's not much and she only did it for a short time)

2. She waited 8 years for him while she was doing various things ( listen this women doesn't sound like she would commit to things for a long time^)

3. her family is very rich even though her family is considered middle class ( the kids in my town that are rich usually rich are stuck up and mean)

4. Her sister has been seen dancing in just her under garments and her brother has naked pictures of him leaked on the Internet (ok she hasnt been caught but it looks like she's close with her family and you can't deny family members influence each other)

Ok I can't say she's a brat but to me she just gives me the feeling she stayed in the relationship partly for money. If Will was just a guy who made average money I don't think she would have kept the relationship goingfor so long. I could be wrong and they were meant for each other.

I do wish for happiness for both of them

^^^^ playing devil's advocate here.

1. I admit her resume isn't very impressive..she's no revolutionary mind boggling scientist out to save the world and cancer...but she did work before her wedding to will. It's not like she stayed on her butt all day waiting for will to come home n be his maid. the girl still does something other than being will's gf n sitting on her richard simmons all day waiting for a royal wedding....she worked (albeit nothing heavy) however I wouldn't hold that against her or judge her character based upon this alone.

2. like you've said, she waited 8 years while still pursuing her own goals, everyday things in life. She didn't just sit around and wait to be a princess. she has a life outside of will. kudos to her instead,

3. rich doesn't mean that you have to be stuck up and mean. kate might be stuck up, she might not be. no need to judge her or anyone based on their income.

4. so....kate's sister an brother have bad news....again, she might do those things and she might not do those things like them....just because 2 apples out of 3 apples are rotten does not mean that the last apple will be rotten. again, why must we assume things.

i can't say how will n kate's relationship is...but to me they seem pretty normal. cooking for each other and doing simple things. I'm sure that kate's had her own fair share of bad press for staying with will this long...it's not easy being called "waitie katie" or "money hungry", etc...I do think that she loves him for himself. Sure, she might go out with him at first afterall he is the prince...but I hardly see their relationship lasting if it wasn't based upon love. besides will probably knows who is good for him and who is not, he chose kate and probably with good judgement and reasoning.

but yes, bless the couple. =)

KATE, THE QUEEN OF STYLE AT GLITTERING GALA

Friday June 10,2011

By Richard Palmer and Louise Sassoon

Kate+Middleton+ARK+10th+Anniversary+Gala+Dinner+EtsDi2DHWjxl.jpg

A RELAXED, smiling and stylish Duchess of Cambridge dazzled onlookers last night on her first official public engagement as a married woman.

Kate+Middleton+ARK+10th+Anniversary+Gala+Dinner+EWKKGqhw0j4l.jpg

Kate and husband William attended a glittering £10,000-a-head gala dinner at Kensington Palace.

Wearing a stunning off-the-peg floor-length evening gown by British designer Jenny Packham, the 29-year-old Duchess stole the show at an event attended by celebrities and wealthy bankers.

Kate+Middleton+ARK+10th+Anniversary+Gala+Dinner+wf29fd5SWawl.jpg

The gala dinner was in aid of Absolute Return for Kids (Ark), a charity that raises money for disadvantaged children around the world.

It marked the start of Kate earning her crust as a royal.

And despite being a royal novice, she giggled and looked at ease as she stood with William’s arm resting across her back, posing for photographers.

The event was a clear signal that the couple intend to make charity work a priority. With up to 1,000 guests attending and many making generous auction bids, the event is set to raise £15million, topping the £14million it made last year.

In his first public speech as a married man, William said he, Kate and Prince Harry had a shared vision with Ark and they had agreed to work together on different projects over the next four years, starting with disadvantaged children in the UK.

“This new joint initiative is based on our shared vision and commitment to transform the lives of thousands of young people,” he said.

“I know that I am very fortunate. I have a good education, a secure home and a loving and supportive family. So many young people, however, do not have these advantages and as a result, can lack the confidence and knowledge to realise their full potential.”

Ark was set up by Swiss financier Arpad Busson. The Duke and Duchess were attending on behalf of the Foundation of Prince William and Prince Harry, which raises funds for charitable grants. Aides said the two organisations shared a common goal – to transform the lives of marginalised children.

THE DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE IS ON SPARKLING FASHION FORM...

TAMARA ABRAHAM

We know she can make Topshop and Reiss look a million dollars, but in shimmering Jenny Packham at the ARK Gala Dinner in London last night, the Duchess of Cambridge took her style cred to the next level.

The extravagant rose sequinned gown, which sells at the designer's Mayfair boutique for £3,800, was dripping with sequins and crystals, and the perfect choice from the British designer's spring/summer collection.

article-0-0C7D9F8B00000578-795_196x606.jpgarticle-0-0C7DA97B00000578-478_196x606.jpgarticle-0-0C7D970300000578-377_196x606.jpg

Style cred: The Duchess of Cambridge dazzled in palest pink Jenny Packham at the ARK Gala

last night

The high neckline looked sophisticated, while the figure-hugging cut made the most of her slender frame.

article-0-0C7D8B2200000578-81_306x350.jpg

Fancy footwork: Catherine couldn't resist

accessorising with LK Bennett heels

But, fan of the High Street that she is, Catherine couldn't resist teaming the dress with a pair of suede 'Agatha' shoes from LK Bennett, one of her favourite brands.

It was a smart decision - plain colour-matched courts or simple strappy sandals would have been a safe choice, but the bow detail on the ankle looked fresh and pretty

Packham is best known for her bridal designs, and had been hotly tipped to design Catherine's wedding dress.

bradanglie052411_11.jpg

Angelina Jolie attended the ‘Tree of Life’ Los Angeles premiere wearing

a gorgeous gown by Jenny Packham. The beautiful actress selected a

poppy coloured, one shoulder silk chiffon draped gown with a velvet

waistband from the AW11 collection.

But her designs are more and more frequently seen on the red carpet, by A-listers including Beyonce, Sarah Jessica Parker and Angelina Jolie.

Emma Roberts wore a gown from the same collection as Catherine for the Oscars and Vanessa Hudgens chose a backless number for the premiere of Sucker Punch.

But while the designer has been well-established on the British fashion scene for many years, the impact of the 'Kate effect', is set to see her star soar even higher.

Last week it emerged that Catherine had a stronger impact on retail sales than Michelle Obama, fashion's so-called $3billion woman.

How does she do it? After wowing the crowds at Trooping the Colour, Kate is surprise guest at wedding of her 'royal matchmaker'

By Daily Mail Reporter

Last updated at 8:37 PM on 11th June 2011

The man credited with saving Prince William and Kate's romance got a surprise guest at his own wedding today - the Duchess of Cambridge.

Just hours after she proudly watched her husband take part in his first Trooping the Colour, Kate joined guests at the wedding of close friend Sam Waley-Cohen, who married party organiser Bella Balin today.

The jump-jockey was branded the royal matchmaker after apparently helping Kate and Wills rekindle their romance after their brief split in March 2007 - a claim which Mr Waley-Cohen has modestly denied since.

article-0-0C846C8B00000578-157_306x894.jpgarticle-0-0C846C8300000578-778_306x894.jpg

Surprise guest: The Duchess of Cambridge at the wedding of Sam Waley-Cohen - the friend credited

with getting Kate and William back together

Wearing a fitted monochrome spot-pattern dress - but still sporting the black hat she wore for the Royal ceremony at Buckingham Palace earlier in the day - the Duchess was accompanied by her younger sister Pippa Middleton, who donned a lime-green coat over a dark dress and a black hat.

The pair chatted with friends, villagers and wedding guests outside St Michael and All Angels Church in Lambourn, near Hungerford in Berkshire, before the ceremony began.

According to onlookers, the future Queen drove herself to the wedding and had apparently changed into a new outfit since her appearance on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, where she wore a fitted white coat.

Royalist and Lambourn resident Carol Morgan joined a small crowd of well wishers outside the church.

Social butterfly: The Duchess might be forgiven if she felt a bit tired today after cramming in

two events in one day... first at Buckingham Palace, before putting in an appearance at the wedding

The 64-year-old said: 'It was a fantastic wedding and I saw Kate arrive at the church with her sister after she apparently drove herself there.

'She arrived about 20 minutes before the service started and was very relaxed and comfortable in the company of all the guests.

'We watched her happily talk with and greet friends outside the church with a kiss before she went inside for the service.

'When the wedding had finished Kate joined others in making an avenue outside the church for the newlyweds to walk through.

'There were security around but it was all very low key. Kate did look lovely but she made sure that she didn't over shadow the bride on her day. It was a super afternoon.'

Wedding party: Kate chats with guests as they make their way into the church

The bride and groom were spotted leaving the church in a sports car strikingly similar to the Aston Martin Volante that Prince William took Kate for a spin in following their wedding at Westminster Abbey.

It was at a party at Mr Waley-Cohen's family's 17th Century mansion in Oxfordshire in June 2007 - after they split in March 2007 - that William and Kate were seen in deep conversation sparking rumours that a reunion could be on the cards

Just weeks later the pair were spotted aboard a yacht on a private island in the Seychelles.

Warm welcome: The Duchess of Cambridge is greeted by a friend. Onlookers say she was relaxed

and chatty

He is the son of businessman, racehorse breeder and trainer Robert Waley-Cohen, nephew of the theatre owner and producer Sir Stephen Waley-Cohen Bt. and grandson of Lord Mayor of London, Bernard Waley-Cohen.

The 28-year-old is a part-time businessman and English National Hunt jump jockey and attended £27,000 pounds a year St Edwards - Teddies - in Oxford.

He came second in the 2011 Grand National and has also built up the Portman Healthcare chain of dental practices since he started the business in 2009.

Prince William, Kate, Queen Elizabeth & More Turn Out For Garter Day

LONDON - Britain's royal family turned out for the annual Order of the Garter service at Windsor Castle.

Queen Elizabeth II was joined by her husband, Prince Philip, the newly-married Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and a host of other royals for the Garter Day ceremony.

Garter Day is a symbolic occasion when holders of the honor, chosen because they have held public office, contributed to national life or served the sovereign personally, meet to celebrate the most senior British order of chivalry.

The former Kate Middleton, also known as the Duchess of Cambridge, grinned broadly as she watched her husband, Prince William, take part in a procession ahead of the service -- causing him to blush.

Happy birthday Grandpa Philip!

By Richard Kay

Last updated at 10:03 AM on 14th June 2011

For a man who didn’t want to ‘make a fuss’, Prince Philip was all smiles as he rounded off his 90th birthday celebrations with an intimate family meal at one of the country’s top restaurants.

He and the Queen were treated to dinner at the eye-wateringly expensive, three Michelin-starred restaurant The Waterside Inn, at Bray, Berkshire, by five of their grandchildren.

It was reminiscent of the 70th birthday party thrown for the Queen by her children at the same restaurant. A generation on, and it was the grandchildren picking up the bill.

The Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen were treated to dinner at the eye-wateringly expensive,

three Michelin-starred restaurant by five of their grandchildren.

The group — which included Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Zara Phillips, as well as her brother Peter and his wife Autumn — left clutching small blue-and-white or pink-and-white boxes, thought to have contained birthday cake.

Philip himself was holding a copy of French owner Michel Roux’s Savoury And Sweet Sauces cookbook, given to him by restaurant staff.

Only Prince Harry, who was committed to a charity dinner in Ascot on Sunday, was missing from his grandchildren.

The family group still appeared to be in high spirits as they ate in an elegant private dining room at the £150-a-head restaurant on the banks of the Thames.

They chose from a menu which included grilled rabbit fillets, pan-fried medallion of farmed veal with carrots and a crispy calf’s head fritter, and roasted Challandais duck.

Prince William & Kate Middleton Prep For Palace Life! Photos Inside Their New Home — And It’s Baby-Ready!!

David Caplan

June 15th, 2011

061511_kensington_07110615134340.jpg

Prince William and Kate Middleton are gearing up for their move from a quaint cottage in Wales to London’s sprawling Kensington Palace, and palace sources say William is eager to populate its long corridors with babies!

061511_kensington_05110615134337.jpg

“William loved growing up there, in apartments 8 and 9,” a source tells Life & Style magazine. “Diana encouraged the boys to run around and play in the garden. It’s the perfect place to raise children.”

According to the magazine, “When it came time to choose a London home where he and his new wife could raise their own family, William knew he wanted to live in the place where he had enjoyed so many special moments—and hear the sound of children’s laughter echoing through the hallways once again.”

And babies are indeed on the royal couple’s mind: “Obviously we want a family, so we’ll have to start thinking about that,” William has said. And Kate‘s just as eager: “I hope we will be able to have a happy family.”

Adds royal biographer Andrew Morton: “My research suggests Catherine should be pregnant within a few months of marriage,” he tells Life & Style. “Diana and Princess Elizabeth were pregnant within three months of marriage.”

As for their Kensington Palace apartment—which William and Kate chose after looking at other units in the 17th-century palace near London’s trendy Notting Hill neighborhood—it’s currently being refurbished and decorated with furnishings Kate picked out.

061511_kensington_03110615134334.jpg

And there’s no shortage of room at the palace: It sits on 750 acres, and its extensive gardens include paved walkways and ornamental pools. Plus, it’s only going to get better: The palace is undergoing a $12 million renovation to prep for the Queen’s diamond jubilee next year.

“They are thrilled about moving,” a source tells Life & Style of William and Kate’s impending new life. “It will bring back such warm memories for William.”

Prince William turns 29 on duty as RAF pilot

LONDON — Prince William is spending his 29th birthday at work as a Royal Air Force helicopter pilot on Tuesday, in a far cry from the pomp and ceremony that surrounded his marriage to Kate Middleton just weeks ago.

The new Duke of Cambridge will be on duty at a RAF search and rescue base in Anglesey, north Wales, waiting for possible emergency call-outs, said Clarence House, his official residence.

William and his new wife are living near the base during his posting.

"Today is part of a normal working week for him at RAF Valley in Anglesey," a spokesman for Clarence House told AFP, confirming that there are no plans for any formal celebrations in coming days.

"He's quite busy with the trip to Canada and California coming up."

On June 30 William and Kate -- now known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge since they tied the knot at Westminster Abbey on April 29 -- will embark on their first first foreign tour together.

He went back to work directly after the wedding for a week, before whisking Kate off to the Seychelles on a delayed honeymoon in an apparent attempt to avoid media attention.

The prince has taken part in around a dozen rescue missions since joining the squadron in September. They included rescuing someone who fell off a cliff and someone who suffered a suspected heart attack.

William's low-key birthday follows the example of his grandfather Prince Philip, who spent his 90th birthday earlier this month doing charity work.

Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha are hosting a birthday lunch for Philip and the Queen later on Tuesday, in what will be a rare visit by the monarch to 10 Downing Street.
