OK, i will finish Daemang soon, and then wacth another drama, SSKS is my priority.

BTW, i've been in episode 32 Daemang, and yeah, Jo Hyun Jae is indeed a Handsome Crown Prince !!

i prefer Lady Yo-jin with the Prince than with Jang Hyuk.. LOL

ninimi, i want to give you a great big hug for making that comment  and here's some trivia to make your Daemang viewing a bit more exciting... JHJ's Crown Prince, as originally written, was supposed to die after a few episodes (i think he was supposed to appear in 3-4 episodes only). But when viewers found out about this, there was a protest and the production company (Kim Jong Hak Productions) gave in to the clamor and didn't kill the Crown Prince; instead re-wrote the story to accommodate and justify the presence of the Crown Prince until the end of the drama. I have no idea how the story would have went if the Crown Prince had died a few episodes after he appeared.

@prissymom: Thanks for the info. I learned that sometimes a few new dramas tends to pop out suddenly, without seemingly a long planning. They complete the castings almost immediately, secure the broadcast station fast, and then began filming. Maybe this also the case for JHJ new project?

cahya, you're right that happens quite a bit too. i shouldn't confine myself to what's on dramawiki. but i love speculating - it is so exciting  hope we hear more concrete news in the coming days.

LYW's management agency seems more forthcoming with news about this project than JHJ's management company, so I hope you guys wouldn't mind if i stalk this thread in the meantime :w00t:

@QSD: Yes. 3 big TV station in Kor give Newstar Award to stars who gave memorable performance in their first major role for drama aired at their station. So, considered Daemang was Yo Won first drama in SBS, and she got that award also in that year, 2002, it must be for Daemang.

Oh, and perhaps you should add the register/log-in button? That way we can know how many members in fansite.

@prissymom: Yeah. I realized often a new drama just announced itself when it's predecessor almost halfway there. The funny thing is, that kind usually more certain than long planning ones (with the delaying or casting changes a few times). This year What's Up-Birdie Buddy-Paradise Ranch seems to be the case, even Playful Kiss. I think SIGN also announced when Daemul already more than halfway? So if this LYW-JHJ drama really happen, the announcement can be when SIGN air a few eps already.

When I tried goggling, most conversation (I used google translator) went on like "Is this for real?" "Such great names" :P Mostly in DC though, so I don't think from Yo Won management. But at least it's a strong rumor. I don't see Jung Il Woo name though, but just with LYW-JHJ-BSB, they already think it'll be big budget drama, 'coz 3 of them just so famous plus JHJ-LYW already waiting long for their comeback :P

yeah Cahya, Yowon has many good achievements in SBS, and MBC, Queen Seon Deok was her first role in MBC right? and she just got a huge achievement for that.. that's great!

this year, KBS gained the most rating among other station, MBC got the worst..

but SBS was also great!

it seems like dramas which was too "bright" before it aired were failed,

Playfull Kiss, Road No.1, Bad Guy, Personal Taste also... Stars like So Ji Sub, Kim Hyun Jong, Lee Min Hoo, Kim Nam Gil etc can't bring high rating for their drama, maybe it's also factor of Luck? this also happened to Bad Love, great casts didn't bring it gained much attention from the public.

While King of Baker Tak-goo and SSKS who's actors and actress actually aren't as "great" as thoso who failed, they were success.

LOL, i didn't know that PMY played such a similar character with LYW, when i read the news, then i google for PMY's face and noticed for detail, compare her face to Yowon... hahahahah.. silly me ! LOL

xXamaterasux, bath scene? haaa... it was sooo Deokman ! :D

QSD, yeah just make it as great as we can, the website must at least collect people who can't join soompi but love Lee Yo Won.. hihiih

prissymom, big hug too, buddy ! :P

poor me that before found him in Daemang, i just saw JHJ on MV Seeya, her look in traditional costume wasn't that great as he was in Daemang, especially his hair! LOL

i think i was too early judging him just by that MV... and i found he was sooo charismatic in Daemang :)

BTW, cahya yeah i also hope Yowon will star in long episode drama..

family drama? it could be.

@Ninimi:

Thanks for the suggestion and correction, I’ve modified them.  There are lots to be done.  It’s really not exactly what I want the website to look like now.  I need to insert some kind of dynamic images on the main page by using flash or other type of programming.  I want the homepage to look sophisticated and consistent throughout.

Yes, we can modify the website much better, just need time.

QSD, the website is wonderful. Yes, I think it would look great if you could put something on the main page. Thanks a lot for your hard work. LYW would be very happy if she sees it. Maybe Ninimi could twitter LYW, inform & ask her to visit the site, but only after everything is done & ready.

I read in Dramabeans that in Gumiho's Revenge there's some pedophile relationship is that right? But the ratings were quite good and Dramabeans like it too.

Yeah, it's one thing bothering in that drama. The children were so young for romance yet they showed it in the drama. The girl was just like 10 or 11 years old & the boy was like 16 or 17 years old. I think they called it pedophile because the girl was just a child. But the girls acting were truly impressive. And the mother & child relationship or bond was awesome.

Oh, and perhaps you should add the register/log-in button? That way we can know how many members in fansite.

That would be great too, but the problem is what if the person is like me, I am one of those who are so lazy to register, lol. Like, there were several websites that wrote or posted an article or news about LYW & I wanted to leave a comment, however, they asked me to register. I didn't want to so I just skip it. How about just leave it open to the public & anyone can leave a comment, but they should be subject to approval. Or you could provide a guestbook section where people who visit the site can write their message or greetings?

ninimi, i want to give you a great big hug for making that comment  and here's some trivia to make your Daemang viewing a bit more exciting... JHJ's Crown Prince, as originally written, was supposed to die after a few episodes (i think he was supposed to appear in 3-4 episodes only). I have no idea how the story would have went if the Crown Prince had died a few episodes after he appeared.

If I was watching Daemang at that time, I'd be among the protesters, lol.

King of Baker Tak-goo

xXamaterasux, bath scene? haaa... it was sooo Deokman ! :D

BTW, cahya yeah i also hope Yowon will star in long episode drama..family drama? it could be.

The rating was really high for King of Baking, they reached 50 so I watched that drama out of curiosity. It's also a very interesting drama.

Yeah, the bath scene was really similar in QSD. You would love that part Ninimi, hahaha!

Family drama would be great too.

yeahh.... i also someone who sometimes lazy to register, so yeah, let it be allowed to post comment and so on, but the register choice is also a must.

in some website there are also counter for active visitors, so we know how and who is active or open the website at that time, maybe 4 members and 2 guest something like that.

whoah Nikachan, suggest for Twitter thing , it can't be,,, becoz Yowon't twitter has been unactivated since about 3 months ago... so we do not have acceess to reach her.. so sad..

moreover, we don't have any acquaintance from DC or daum who can send letter of gift to yowon.

hahah.. so sad ! LOL

any of you can register in DAUM? few times ago i tried but, was failed... it will be great if one of us can join Daum.

EDIT :

Aahhh... i just remember, i have twitter account of Mr.Euro !! hahahha..

he's Yowon's Stylist !! LOL

he was nice and responds me and my friends tweets, also his english is good...

nah... he can be our "bridge" to reach Yowon..hehhee... :P

I was browsing LYW's dramas in soompi forums. In Daemang, someone asked how's LYW there. These were the answers & I agree with them.

"And Ender's Girl, as for Lee Yo Won, Dae Mang is the first drama I saw her acting in. I think she was a good cast for Yeo Jin and find her acting convincingly good. Her acting style fitted perfectly with her character of Yeo Jin, who lies between who she is (a member of noble society) and whom she wishes to be (a good citizen and a woman able to love a man freely). She is introvert but proactive about what she believes would be helpful to others; she is cold but warmhearted, and; she is demure but decisive and assertive when action needed. Lee Yo Won did a good job of portraying Yeo Jin, a woman with complexities."

"wils, ender's girl i too have not had a lot of experience viewing lee yo won dramas. daemang was also my first introduction to her. and wils, i agree, she has this demure controlled way about her which suited her role in daemang...her character was very well suited to her looks and her persona, i think. it seems to me that she does have this quiet controlled sadness about her that played very well into her character in daemang. my next experience with her was her seeya mv with jo hyun jae and once again she portrayed almost the same character as in daemang and she did not stray from her portrayal..it seemed the same to me. it seems that roles such as these are tailor made for her. i agree that she is a good actress, i just have not seen her portray very many characters than like those in daemang."

QSD, I don't think you already have this in the fansite.

Dr. Drama

JANUARY 04, 2007 03:00

34foc1s.jpg

“Does my hair style look a bit strange? I wanted to look like a doctor.”

Lee Yo-won, 27, had her hair short and permed and was wearing a medical gown. I interviewed her at an examining room furnished with nothing but one bed. Lee is going to play the main character of an SBS drama titled “Surgeon Bong Dal-hee” to be aired at 9:55 p.m. on every Wednesday and Thursday starting from January 17. On January 2, I “examined” her at the set decorated like an emergency room in a studio located in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi.

Lee came into the examining room with her hands deep in pockets. She said that the realistic set with hospital equipment such as bloody sheets and Ringer’s solution makes her feel like a doctor tired from night duty.

“It’s like I’ve been hospitalized since we started shooting. I have headache. A hospital is not a place to stay long,” said she with a smile.

In this drama, Bong Dal-hee is a resident physician who keeps her heart disease a secret and desires to be a specialist in children’s hearts. Like the sound of her name, she is an interesting character who makes mistakes and is called “trouble-maker” by her colleagues.

“I’m so excited to take this role. My previous melodramatic characters were always depressed and crying, so I wanted to be different this time.”

Producer Kim Hyeong-sik said, “I chose to go against people’s expectations based on Lee’s stereotyped images. After starting shooting, I found my choice was right. Lee is the very Dal-hee character who is strong and friendly.” Lee took crying-baby type characters in another SBS drama, “Fashion 70s,” and movies such as “Africa” and “When Romance Meets Destiny.”

The new drama shows Dal-hee hesitating in a three-cornered relationship with Ahn Jung-geun (Lee Beom-soo) and Lee Geon-wook (Kim Min-joon) as she becomes mature as a doctor. Lee said that teamwork is very good as the two male actors encourage each other unlike the drama’s story.

“Lee Beom-soo, a movie star, feels strange acting for a TV drama. He kept saying, ‘It’s so different from making a movie.’”

Lee learned how to do cardiopulmonary resuscitation at Seoul National University Hospital. She now knows a few simple medical facts such as “double-line stethoscopes are better than single-line ones.” However, she is also worried about NGing using professional terminologies.

“I watched the U.S. medical drama, ‘Gray’s Anatomy.’ I’m only acting but it’s still hard to be a doctor.”

Lee married young and has a daughter unlike other actors. She said, “I want to be an actor who can move the audience with truth. My New Year’s wish is to succeed in my work.”

She added, “I hope that the drama makes number one among dramas aired on Wednesdays and Thursdays and that the movie ‘Splendid Holiday’ makes a hit. I wish to be blessed in my work.”

yeah Nika, i also agree with that opinion abou Lady Yo-jin, she's such a cool-hearted to Jang-hyuk's brother (Shien Young? forget his name), but she was so fragille if it't for Jang Hyuk.

she's also good in taking care of people with her own noble hand. such a comlpecated character.

hei i think this is the first time i read that Bong Dal Hee's news, thankyou Nika!

and i'm going to visit SBDH's thread too.. wanna post , make the thread up.. haha

hmm, i agree with her, Hospital is not nice place to stay along. it's good that she can get rid on it.

and wow, her wish was blessed ! Surgeon Bong Dal Hee was a hit drama, made her recieve many awards, and Splendid Holiday too, a blockbuster movie.. :)

tatadede, thanks for the photos, they remind me to Yowon Lee's Twitter which has gone now ;)

BTW, wihii..... here is a candid photo,

nearby Chrismas Tree on FITNESS CENTER !! lol

finally saw her gym... oohh is this what she did along this year? LOL

wonder where her husband is? but i am sure he must be there... :)

@nikachan: Thanks for SBDH interview. That also new for me. Oh, so that's the pedophile thing people complaint about Gumiho. Hmm... intriguing and unusual for Asian drama, albeit a dark one like this. I heard there was also a kiss between them?

@ninimi: Haha yeah, as a medical student myself, being in a hospital for too long can be depressing sometimes. Those candid pics were nice, how photogenic she was even in spontaneous moments. I envy he/she who took it :P Btw, have you watch Seo Dong Yo? JHJ was very charming there, he's really suited for handsome Prince-King roles. His body language were natural for such roles. If you want to watch him in modern drama, try Love Letter first. He was very cute there, I like him much more than Ji Jin Hee. ^_^

About fansite, I agree there's no need for register just to comment in an article/news. Usually you only need registration to participate in fansite's forum. It'll be great if we only need email and user name for registering. Given that for insert a comment, even without login, we still must give the name and email anyway? (like in Dramabeans).

Around last month or so I started to search about K Dramas in 2010 (to chose what I want to watch after my hiatus since early this year). I find that two long family dramas reigned in ratings (Baker Kim Tak Goo and Giant). This 2 shows were in my mind too when I mentioned some 50 eps family drama earlier. Giant even managed to beat Dong Yi and some eps of Baker King even reach about 50% therefore like QSD, considered to be a national drama right? I hope I can watch them someday. That's why I hope the project that Yo Won choose will be like them, seems like Kor people like that kind of shows for now (also there was Life is Beautiful, I heard it was kinda controversial 'coz featured some gay romance).

Thanks for all the juicy readings and pics.

As for the fansite, yeah I think we should leave in public, but I can still track the unique visitors there.  I will add the comments section where people can post.  They better behave or I’m gonna kick their butts disappeared.  Don’t mess with the kingdom of Queen of Silla.

@Cahya:  I will add the name of the drama that Yowon won for the SBS Newstar Award.

@Nikachan:  Thanks for the news.  There are more of them to add, like some articles you have translated also.  I’m planning to change the layout of the news section to make it nicer and users friendly.

@Ninimi:  Good, you have her stylist’s twitter.  You are the biggest bridge that could connect us to Her Highness some day.  But first we gotta take care of the palace, the fansite.  It’s a big mess to invite the queen now.  Will have to clean up fast…

@Tatadede:  Welcome back.  Long time no see.  I miss Ma0ma0chong.  Where you are at, Mama?  Come on out…

Seo Dong Yo? oh i haven't, yeah i believe it, JHJ seems charismatic and suit for historical role. i haven't seen Dong Yi, i just see Ji Jin Hee in Jang Geum , OK if i have chance i will wacth the drama :)

oh so today's fav drama is about family drama? yea it seems good, and the longer episodes the more i will be happy, can see yowon so many times huh? hehe

the cast, if that so, it could be family drama, but Yowon should have different character, maybe as great lady of a family... LOL

"A Tree With Deep Roots" seems interesting. I prefer sageuk dramas so I would be very happy if it will be the next project of LYW & JHJ.

Yup, tree with deep roots seems interesting, but according to the grapevine, the rumored comeback project of LYW and JHJ will be set in modern times. the writer (also writer of Brilliant Legacy and Prosecutor Princess) specifically wants JHJ to be the male lead of her new drama; while the producers want LYW to be the female lead.

prissymom, yes, it was only the scene where both LYW & JHJ appeared together, but in spite of that I was truly entertained with their parts. They were nice & beautiful people in the drama. They were nobles yet so humble, righteous & never get intimidated by other people. I guess it's only in Daemang that LYW played a role where she was not weak & was not mocked so badly by anyone. It's what I like about it. I couldn't watch her in Blue Mist, can't stand watching her falling in love with an older guy. She was pitiful in Pure Heart, became so poor & sickly. She was poor & struggling to be accepted in the Fashion school in Fashion 70s. She was so weak & crying so much in Bad Love. She was terribly bullied in SBDH. Dr. Ahn was so mean to her that it rips my heart to see our LYW suffered so much from him. She was treated harshly by the arrogant hwarangs & was so lonely in QSD. Ahh...love her role in Daemang...I don't feel any heartaches watching her there... lol.

but, nikachan, it is in downtrodden roles that actors/actresses hone their acting skills. so you should be happy that your LYW got to hone her acting skills early on in her career, now she can choose whatever role she wants. besides people always love underdogs, they get the most loving from drama watchers, don't they? :)

the first time i watched daemang, i didn't like LYW's character. i found her dull and lifeless, and i wasn't impressed with her acting. but then i found out that in real life LYW is a very outgoing and happy person, i realized then that she is actually a good actress. to be able to subdue one's true personality and give life to a character that is the exact opposite of her true self, that requires great acting skills. i have watched a few times already (while waiting for JHJ's discharge) and I have come to appreciate LYW's interpretation of her character in that drama.

Hope her next project will be something that she's the one poking the bad guys all the time.

just as long as she won't be poking at my JHJ (that is if she will be working with JHJ), then I am all for a strong heroine

it seems like dramas which was too "bright" before it aired were failed,

Playfull Kiss, Road No.1, Bad Guy, Personal Taste also... Stars like So Ji Sub, Kim Hyun Jong, Lee Min Hoo, Kim Nam Gil etc can't bring high rating for their drama, maybe it's also factor of Luck? this also happened to Bad Love, great casts didn't bring it gained much attention from the public.

While King of Baker Tak-goo and SSKS who's actors and actress actually aren't as "great" as thoso who failed, they were success.

yes, lately highly-hyped projects don't do well in the ratings. maybe korean viewers have had enough of dramas with more flash than substance. they want stories that mirror their own life's struggles.

prissymom, big hug too, buddy ! :P

poor me that before found him in Daemang, i just saw JHJ on MV Seeya, her look in traditional costume wasn't that great as he was in Daemang, especially his hair! LOL

i think i was too early judging him just by that MV... and i found he was sooo charismatic in Daemang :)

you get another big hug from me for your nice comments about my JHJ  . JHJ is indeed charismatic in Daemang, that's why he captured the viewers eyes in that drama.

true, he didn't look his best in the See Ya MV, that's because they have to dirty him up because he is a commoner on the run for the most part of the MV. Didn't like his hair there either, but that didn't bother me too much because I already know the gem hidden beneath the dirt and the bad hair day. i suggest you check him out in Seo Dong Yo, he looks good there in all his period costumes - from commoner, to soldier, to scientist, to court official, to Prince and finally as King of Baekje. It may not have garnered the same rating as QSD, but it was a career-defining role for JHJ.

@ninimi: Btw, have you watch Seo Dong Yo? JHJ was very charming there, he's really suited for handsome Prince-King roles. His body language were natural for such roles. If you want to watch him in modern drama, try Love Letter first. He was very cute there, I like him much more than Ji Jin Hee. ^_^

i agree with cahya. try seo dong yo (if you are up to a 55-episode sageuk at this point in time). also try Love Letter, that is my fave JHJ drama. I "fell in love" with him there. there is no other actor who will be able to effectively portray the conflicted priest Andrea. But be ready with a big box of tissue because it is a cry-fest of a drama. :D

About fansite, I agree there's no need for register just to comment in an article/news. Usually you only need registration to participate in fansite's forum. It'll be great if we only need email and user name for registering. Given that for insert a comment, even without login, we still must give the name and email anyway? (like in Dramabeans).

just a suggestion for the fansite, best to put in a feature asking visitors to the site to register first before they can post a comment. that way you limit spammers from your site. the wuliJHJ website (English website for Jo Hyun Jae) experienced attacks from spammers when the site was open to just about everyone. they would post lewd comments or sometimes post comments totally unrelated to JHJ. the site owner had to waste precious time deleting such comments that she decided to require subscribers to register before they could post comment. it didn't totally stop spammers, but attacks decreased by a considerable percentage. visitors need to register only once, on their succeeding visits they can just log in to post comment.

dramabeans is quite a big site, they have built in security features that filter spammers. but it is quite expensive to have security features similar to dramabeas, so if you're doing this just by yourself, using your own financial resources you might not be able to afford the security features that a site like dramabeans can afford.

just a friendly suggestion :)

gle_perry, irfan bachdim is so famous now in my country, i guess we're from the same country right?

Ohh, Ha Ji Won was also in Fashion 70s, but wasn't one frame with LYW, she's one friend with young LYW's characters.

prissymom yupp you're right. actors and actresses hone their skill mostly by downtrodden roles.

it was how good they cry, how can they moved the viewers seeing their skill, how they make viewers feel what they feel.

yea it's good that LYW acted in many roles, downtrodden , cold-hearted, sick and inocent, shameless and rebell woman, and so on.

JHJ and LYW's upcoming drama become more interesting to wait for :)

___________________________________________________________

BTW, have someone post this video?

seems like this is in 2001 , Yowon was so young , her hairstyle looks like in drama Pure Heart.

what interesting from this video is that i saw her JY necklace!

it was so clear start from 02.30

ohh people really do not realize what the necklace about, so i think she kept her lovestory underground from media,

that people are surprissed by her sudden marriage announcement.

i think she has planned it a long, people just don't realize..

Hi guys,

I've updated the main page and the link to the "Gallery" but still under construction.  Pls let me know what you think of it now.

LYW Fansite

@ Ninimi:  After watching some of the older clips and CFs of Yowon in which she wore the ring on her ring finger, I believe it is her wedding band even though all those clips are in 2002.  It's the way she's telling the world that she's going to get marry in 2003, in a silent mode.

but as a mom but still beautiful with perfect body, some people still consider her as a single woman, it's a great achevement

I think she made the right decision to marry early.  She got the break she really wanted.  Now not only she has a happy family but also a very successful career at the same time.  I don't see it's a problem she married early.  Yowon is happy is what most important.

Thanks for the news.

I think the gallery should be for photos.

Multimedia is for video clips.

Maybe the news section can consist of articles and tidbits.
