Beast beats Big Bang’s record on the Oricon Charts!

Through their single album, Shock, BEAST debuted in Japan and beat Big Bang‘s record.

Through their homepage, Japan’s Oricon Style revealed,

“BEAST’s debut album,

Shock, sold about 29,000 albums within one week and is currently ranked in 2nd place on the

Oricon Chart

.”

During June of 2009, Big Bang released Japan’s major debut single, My Heaven, and was ranked 3rd on the Oricon Chart. It has been 1 year and 9 months since then. Oricon Style continued by saying,

“Except for Japan, BEAST, as an asian group, have made a new record with their debut single album.”

During the release of the debut album, BEAST were planning on having a concert along with other promotional ideas. But, because of the recent tsunami and earthquake in Japan, all plans have been canceled for now.

On the other hand, BEAST have finished their concert in Korea and are currently doing activities individually.

MBC 일일시트콤 ‘몽땅 내 사랑’에서 금지(가인)와 두준(윤두준)이 조권, 가인이 부른 인기 듀엣곡 ‘우리 사랑하게 됐어요’를 함께 부른다.

3월22일 방송되는 ‘몽땅 내 사랑’ 85회에는 금지와 두준이 동창의 결혼식에서 축가를 불러주기로 한 약속을 지키기 위해 어색함을 무릅쓰고 함께 사랑 노래를 부르는 장면이 방송된다.

금지에게 차인 후 순덕(리지)과 가짜 연애 중인 두준은 금지와 마주치기만 해도 어색한 상황. 우연히 학창시절 금지와 함께 축가를 불러주기로 약속했던 친구 커플에게 청첩장을 받는다.

‘우리 사랑하게 됐어요’를 부르며 축가 연습을 시작한 금지와 두준. 금지는 막상 본격적으로 연습하게 되자 순덕이 신경 쓰이고, 두준과 마주 보고 사랑노래 부를 일이 막막하게 느끼게 된다.

Beast debuts on Japan’s Oricon Daily Chart at 2nd place

Six member Korean boy group Beast’s debut Japanese single ‘Shock’ ( released on the 16th) managed to sell 290,000 copies in its first week. It achieved 2nd place on Japan’s Oricon Daily Chart on the 28th of March, beating the record set by Big Bang’s ‘ Heaven’ which managed to get 3rd place on the same chart in 2009. This is the best record ever achieved by a newly-debuting non-Japanese Asian group.

Having just released their debut Japanese album ‘SHOCK‘, the boys of B2ST already accrued immense popularity from the public, as the album climbed to second place on the Oricon Weekly Chart.

Oricon Style stated on their official site, “In just one week, B2ST’s debut album ‘SHOCK’ had sold 29,000 copies, which placed them second on the Oricon Weekly Chart. The group has set a new record for debut album sales not only in Japan, but in all of Asia.”

Although B2ST had made plans for significant promotions and concerts, everything had to be canceled because of the recent Japanese earthquake.
