the problem isn't him being the player, or the girls still wanting to be with him even knowing he's a player. there is nothing wrong with taking nude photos, in my opinion, but to be so careless to have the photos leaked, and knowing that you're a well known celebritiy too. that is just stupidity at it's finest.. hah... as far as i'm concerned the only things some of those girls did wrong was preach about virginity when they were out doing these kinda things... lol...

I was disappointed in him at first, thought he was disgusting for saving the pictures. I understand couples will take pictures, but he made the photos his own personal collection. He sounds really sincere in this interview though. I guess when you are "young" and "famous", you do stupid things because you think you're invincible. He never meant for those pictures to be leaked obviously. If what he said was true, he should initiate a meet up with the females and apologize in person instead of waiting for them to contact him.

who said his speech was elegant? i just think his interview was very much acceptable for a 30 year old. okay, he didnt use any big words, no exceptional sentence structures, etc. most celebrities dont. he's not a politician, professor, journalist, or super intelligent (like tablo). i understood his him perfectly - thats all we need.

All I can say is that the main person to be blamed is the person who leaked the photos. It's just such a major violation of privacy in its most intimate form, as well as crude disregard for the people involved.

edison seem to have had his way with the ladies. i think the girls had their cry about it because the pictures made them look scandalous and their private parts are being shown around. edison seem to have a bad break from it because his private matters are making the media industry seem so dirty and negative. he's not the sole representative for hong kong celebrities but i understand how edison and the girls should lay low because the public won't be looking at them the same way, as if expecting more porn shots coming from them. possibly because edison is the main male figure with different girls that he is seen in the spotlight as a cheater and playboy, automatically making him the bad one. he's not crying onscreen and i don't think that makes him less innocent.

I still don't understand why Edison is still the main blame for this whole controversy. The celebrity girls were in it too, they knew what was happening. They knew that they were being photographed, it was out of their stupidity to let it happen and when it got to the public all they can do is cry and place the blame on him. What a shame.

Both sides have faults here, no one single person should be blamed.

And at the end of the day, both sides wanted to have the pictures taken so they should both suffer the consequences.

I'm sorry but there's nothing to forgive. It's his private life, and he's entitled to do what he likes behind his bedroom doors. He doesn't need anyone's approval, especially not a bunch of strangers who know nothing about him or his partners. The only people owed an explanation are the women he was with and we all know they were FULLY aware of what was going on, even if some of them are trying to pull the 'naive and innocent' act now.

I think the public should just forgive him, i'm really surprised some people are sending him death threats cause i don't think he wanted this kind of attention and backlash for himself. He was a playboy, but he did delete those pictures, he was just unlucky that some people had a vendetta against him.

It sucks that he lives in an environment where sex scandals are blown way out of proportion. Look at the numerous American celebrities that have their naked pics leaked online -- we're surprised at first, but we forget about it and move on to the next big scandal. There is absolutely nothing wrong with taking sex photos. The interviewer made it seem like he shouldn't have done it in the first place and it was a stupid move to make. Heck, he's not the only one who does it and he shouldn't be looked down upon for doing so. Who would have known that his deleted files would be recovered by a computer technician?!?!

To be brutally honest on y HKers in general still have problems with him:

First, his interview is timed quite 'advantageous' when he's leaked words he wanna be back in showbiz. A year ago, when he did his VERY public presscon with TONNES of police and bodyguards in toll before he fled and hid, he swore he'll be holding up his career in the biz indefinitely. It's his choice, but he's practically eating his own words, and when poked by the media on what he's said, he wryly said 'indefinitely' can mean 5 mins or forever....um...ok...

Also, on a more personal level, btn him and his exes, all the ladies were asking was just a personal 'explanation' of what's happened. He owed them that much at least, if a 'sorry' was thrown in just for his carelessness of handling his laptop, that'll be good manners, but everything was played out in the public, the ladies didn't know any more about how the pictures got out and why than everyone else who can read Chinese. And in that society, many ppl hold the females in way harsher scrutiny than Edison Chan if we're only talking about taking nude/graphic pics of themselves...or just showing body parts.

The whole fiasco is not really what ppl have a problem with, but when things have died down as much as it possibly can a year later, he suddenly did a super high profile interview with CNN, coming across as a bit more whiny and self-centered than he should IF he has wishes of mending things with the HK media/public/his exes, and considering how good a PR team he always has, this is not really getting the results. I'm not saying he's not believable in what he's said, but I and the general co-census in HK can't help but ponder on his suspicious motives.

And he should not really blatantly mention the names of Gillian and Cecilia or others without consenting them, it's his interview, they should not be dragged thro the mud again...if he didn't care enough to give them even just a personal call even just for reassurance on how they're holding up when their careers suffered way more damage than his, he did come off a bit 'using' the whole thing and them for a publicity stunt.
