The HK concert organizer has updated their Facebook news clippings.

I will edit into my previous translations, where applicable.

Meanwhile, there are also a lot more fresh reports. Too bad the paparazzi WG photos are not available online, so these scans are the next best alternative.

First batch translated as follows. At least two-thirds more to go....

WONDERGIRLS to perform in Hong Kong, is plotting to invite the 'Fun With Liza & Gods' cast

Sing Tao Daily 2010-12-1 Wednesday 06:30

Korean girlgroup WONDERGIRLS of 'Nobody' fame in Southeast Asia was in Hong Kong for the 1st time to promote their concert next month at the AsiaWorld Arena. Which types of Hong Kong boys are handsome in their eyes? WONDERGIRLS abstained, saying they just hit town & have yet to look around. But they think all the males are good-looking: "Hong Kongers are great; they know Cantonese, English & Mandarin. (Are Hong Kongers acceptable as your boyfriends?) OK! Sure! Of course, we don't mind."

TVB's 'Fun With Liza & Gods' show had previously featured a WONDERGIRLS parody skit. The real-life WONDERGIRLS found it to be very funny & Louis Yeun's role to be the most hilarious. Word got out that the 'Fun With Liza & Gods' cast is to be their concert guests. But WONDERGIRLS declined to comment, saying nothing is finalized & that they wanted to retain a sense of mystery.

Will they sing Cantopop songs & speak a lot of Cantonese at the Hong Kong concert? WONDERGIRLS has not decided yet, but is learning the language. They said: "We have performed in China & also studied Mandarin for several years, so Mandarin is more familiar. But we are working hard on our Cantonese." Is LIM very strict as a Cantonese tutor? LIM laughed: "I am not very strict."

The Kpop wave has swept Southeast Asia in recent years; China, Hong Kong & Japan were also affected. What is WONDERGIRLS's winning formula? They laughed: "People of all ages can easily remember our songs. They sing along to them, & we are very happy."

How about Hong Kong artistes' dancing skills? LIM said: "I have seen Joey Yung perform on TV & on the Internet. She is very good; I am impressed. (How does she compare to you all?) Different styles; the visuals are also not the same."

Overworked WONDERGIRLS looked fatigued as they took a midnight flight back to Korea

Ming Pao Daily News 2010-12-1 Wednesday 05:05

Popular Korean girlgroup WONDERGIRLS (WG) was in Macau a couple nights ago, then made a whirlwind trip to Hong Kong for 2 promotional events. They later took a midnight flight back to Korea. The packed itinerary over the past few days left the usually-professional girls showing signs of fatigue. They did not even flash their trademark smiles for the fans at the airport.

A meal in the Jordan area; LIM's parents were present

Last night, WG completed their promotions & left in a trio of 7-seater cars. More than 10 fans were waiting at the parking-lot exit. The organizers have arranged for over 10 security personnel to maintain order; they even closed a car lane as the girls left, causing the cars behind to horn their dissatisfaction. WG headed to the Dragon Dynasty Restaurant in the Jordan area for a Chinese meal. Reportedly, the parents of the Hong Kong-born & -raised LIM were also present. About 2 hours later, they left for the airport. The fans also followed suit.

No objection to being parodied by 'Fun With Liza & Gods'

WG is known for their fan service. But they showed signs of fatigue, perhaps due to their packed itinerary of the last few days. They remained expressionless even when receiving gifts from the enthusiastic fans.

Prior to departure, they were interviewed by this newspaper. The Hong Kong send-up of WG on the TVB 'Fun With Liza & Gods' show was brought up. The girls have watched the clip & did not mind being parodied; they even praised Louis Yuen's role as the most hilarious. There were rumors that the 'Fun With Liza & Gods' cast was invited to be their concert 'mystery guests', & nothing is confirmed as yet. As for being 'idols' to many local kids? Sunye smiled & replied: "It's great! Having them emulating us is so cute. We are very happy!"

Prodigious & trailblazing, WG pleaded confidentiality about the concert content. They said that they have been studying Mandarin in recent years to connect with Mainland China fans. The Hong Kong-raised LIM has even been promoted to "Teacher LIM".

Praising Joey Yung's dancing skills

WG members are skilled dancers, & it turned out they have taken note of how local artistes perform. Joey Yung is treated with special respect. LIM said in Cantonese: "We saw Joey Yung's TV performances on the Internet. She dances so well & attractively; I was quite impressed! But WG's style is different from hers, so it is hard to compare who is better." What is their winning formula in the Kpop industry? They were modest: "We are not sure. Perhaps our song melodies are simpler & catchier, & our dance steps more accessible, to be able to have such an impact on others."

Hong Kongers acceptable as boyfriends

Having arrived hurriedly, WG half-joked that their itinerary is too packed to check out Hong Kong boys. "We think Hong Kongers are great. They know English, Mandarin & Cantonese, & they are as tall as Korean boys! We think most of them are quite handsome & won't mind dating them. The suggestion to have them as boyfriends is also pretty good!"

WG burst into laughter at 'Fun With Liza & Gods'

Oriental Daily News 2010-12-01

Korean girlgroup WONDERGIRLS (WG) was in Hong Kong for media interviews the other day to rally support for their concert. They said they appreciated the WG copycats on the 'Fun With Liza & Gods' show, even praising it to be very funny!

WG made a whirlwind 12-hour trip the other day to promote their maiden Hong Kong concert. During local media interviews, they said they have seen the 'Fun With Liza & Gods' version of WG which feature Louis Yeun, Wong Cho Lam & Johnson Lee. They praised Louis Yeun as the most hilarious. But the organizers denied online rumors that they are seeking the 'Fun With Liza & Gods' cast to be concert guests.

It is not known if the WG concert will feature Cantopop songs. But the girls have been practicing their Cantonese, & the Hong Kong-born LIM singled out as a very good Chinese teacher. Asked about Hong Kong artistes' dancing skills, LIM said she has seen Joey Yung on TV & on the Internet. She praised her as very great, & was very impressed.

Praising Hong Kong boys as handsome

Asked about their impression of Hong Kong boys, WG noted they could speak English, Mandarin & Cantonese, before adding: "They are as tall as Korean boys, so they should all be considered handsome!" WG caught a late flight out that night. They had gone to the Jordan area for a Chinese meal before heading for the airport.

In addition, WG's company JYP Entertainment is holding a 'TEAMPLAY' concert in Seoul on Christmas Eve, with WG, 2PM, 2AM [sic], missA & others participating. Everyone was dressed in Christmas gear for publicity photos, & they sang together on the Park Jin Young-produced new Christmas song 'This Christmas'.

WG guffaws at 'Fun With Liza & Gods' performing 'Nobody'

The Sun (HK): 2010-12-01

WONDERGIRLS (WG) was in town for 12 hours to promote their Hong Kong concert this month. The girls has seen Wong Cho Lam, Johnson Lee & Louis Yuen of the 'Fun With Liza & Gods' show parodying 'Nobody', & praised Louis as the funniest!

Asked about their impression of Hong Kong boys, the girls said their ferry had just brought them over from Macau in the morning, so there is no time to check around yet. They praised Hong Kongers for being also fluent in English & Mandarin: "Hong Kong boys are as tall as Korean boys, so they must be handsome!" Are Hong Kongers acceptable as boyfriends? Yeeun & Sunye answered in unison: "Yes!" The girls have also seen a video clip of Wong Cho Lam, Johnson Lee & Louis Yuen parodying 'Nobody', & praised Louis as the funniest! But the organizers are debunking the rumor that they are seeking the trio to be the concert guests.

WG has not decided whether to sing Cantopop songs during the concert. But they are working hard on their Cantonese, which they tried out by saying: "Thank you, very happy to see you all!" They have regularly gone to Mainland China for engagements & have studied Mandarin for several years, so their Mandarin is much better. But they said the Hong Kong-born LIM is around to be their teacher.

Praising Joey Yung's dancing skills

What are they better than other Japanese & Korean girlgroups? Sunye said: "Actually I am not sure. But WG songs & dances are easy to remember, & many people learn them by singing along." Asked about Hong Kong artistes' dancing skills, LIM said they have watched idol singer Joey Yung on TV & on the Internet; she praised her as great & impressive. But WG & Joey also dance to different styles. Later on, the girls went to the Jordan area for a Chinese meal. Many fans followed them, bearing gifts, Post-dinner, they immediately hurried to the airport. LIM was spotted carrying 2 cake boxes; it appeared these were to be their desserts during the flight home.

Flattered by 'Fun With Liza & Gods' singing 'Nobody', WG likes Louis Yuen the most

Apple Daily 2010-12-01

Korean girlgroup WONDERGIRLS (WG) of the widespread 'Nobody' fame made a whirlwind trip to Hong Kong the other day. They attended 3 events in a single day, yet found time for an interview. WG had helped launch a Kpop craze, with even the likes of Wong Cho Lam & company of the 'Fun With 'Liza & Golds' impersonating them. WG said they have seen it, & praised Louis Yeun as the funniest.

Popular Kpop group WONDERGIRLS was in town to promote their Hong Kong concert this month. It was their 1st trip here since becoming famous, but they could only stay for a day. Despite a packed itinerary, they were fully energized for their interview. But the person in charge told reporters beforehand that WG would not answer any questions concerning North & South Korean politics. Asked about the secret of their global popularity, Yeeun said: "We are not sure ourselves. Perhaps our songs are easier to remember & they are also joyful. People of all ages could listen together."

LIM loves to listen to Joey Yung

Another group member LIM was Hong Kong-born & -raised. She is proficient in Cantonese, & had taught her fellow members to say: "Thank you, very happy to meet you all" in the language. The other members said they are working hard on their Cantonese. By contrast, they have performed in Mainland China & had also spent several years learning Mandarin, so their Mandarin is much better. Given their limited Cantonese, they have not decided whether to sing Cantopop songs at the Hong Kong concert. Still, they plan to offer something special for the local fans. LIM said: "I love to listen to Joey Yung. She dances so well."

Wong Cho Lam, Johnson Lee & Louis Yuen of the Hong Kong comedy show 'Fun With Liza & Gods' had impersonated them. But WG does not mind, even saying they have watched the video clip. They said: "Louis Yuen is the most impressive. He is the funniest." Who knows, perhaps the girls can invite the 'Fun With Liza & Gods' cast to be their concert guests?

No time to check out the boys

Asked about their impression of Hong Kong boys, WG said they would be in town for only a day, with little time to check out the boys. But they believe Hong Kong has many handsome guys; they don't think Hong Kongers are shorter than Korean boys either. Would they pick Hong Kongers as boyfriends? WG replied in unison: "Yes!" They also said the locals know English, Mandarin & Cantonese, & are thus very smart.

- - - - - - - - - -

This Apple Daily article stole the first half of the Ming Pao report (car lane closed when they left; dinner with LIM's parents in the Jordan area; fatigued WG faces at the airport). But they ran it with an exclusive paparazzi photo.

WONDERGIRLS joins Jiangsu TV New Year's Eve concert; Avril Lavigne expected to perform too

Tencent QQ 2010-12-02 00:11

Tencent QQ entertainment news. With 2011 approaching, various TV stations have resorted to killer weapons for their New Year's Eve concerts. Jiangsu TV previously said that their concert this year is stepping up a notch; they are also playing the international card. They are inviting Avril Lavigne & other top international artistes for the show. Substantial progress was made, & Jiangsu TV has just announced the major news: WONDERGIRLS of worldwide 'Nobody' fame has confirmed they will participate in their New Year's Eve concert.

WONDERGIRLS confirms their participation; the whole audience to dance to 'Nobody'

Preparations for this year's Jiangsu TV New Year's Eve concert are already in full swing. Current confirmations for the show include Fish Leong, Elva Hsiao, Fan Fan, Chen Chusheng, Yoga Lin & DA MOUTH. Jiangsu TV had previously pledged that the concert won't just be a gathering of stars from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan & Macau. International superstars are also approached to help turn this New Year's Eve into a fully cosmopolitan music fest. There were interminable news that Avril Lavigne was invited to perform. Just as the wait goes on for this foreign rock n' roll nymph to confirm, another international artiste stealthily signed on a few days ago. Yesterday came the official confirmation: Jiangsu TV & WONDERGIRLS  have signed a contract, & this top girlgroup will appear on the Jiangsu TV New Year's Eve concert stage.

With its upbeat tempo & peppy dance, WONDERGIRLS' 'Nobody' has captured the hearts of global fans. Many interpretations of 'Nobody' also circulate on the Internet. The masses copied WONDERGIRLS' dance steps & did their own versions. 'Nobody' is also the most popular track for student performances & annual company meetings. Specialized 'Nobody' dance training have even surfaced. To have invited this top girlgroup, Jiangsu TV New Year's Eve concert director Ms. Zhang said: "When choosing international artistes, we must take into account that Chinese audiences may not understand foreign-language songs. So we try as much as possible to pick singers whose body of work spread far & wide in China. WONDERGIRLS is a very popular international artiste in China. Their song 'Nobody' is almost a household name. Their live rendition also produces great interaction. Their dance is indeed very unique & uncomplicated, very lively. For the concert, we are planning for a mass-dance segment with 'Nobody'."

Still negotiating: Signing on Avril Lavigne has entered the final phase; Chinese version of 'Girlfriend' is expected

[skipped Avril Lavigne portion. Summary: negotiations are at 90% stage; she is personally interested & gets to bring her own entourage.]

Korea's WONDERGIRLS is already confirmed. If Avril Lavigne is also coming, the fans wonder which international superstar will be the concert finale. Some fans think the alluring WONDERGIRLS is more suitable to open the show, with Avril Lavigne appearing as the clock enters the new year. Additionally, Avril Lavigne's classic track 'Girlfriend' has been recorded in 8 languages (Chinese, Portuguese, Japanese, Spanish, French, German, Italian, English). If she comes for the concert, Avril Lavigne is expected to perform the Chinese version of 'Girlfriend'.

Reportedly, WONDERGIRLS & Avril Lavigne are not only Jiangsu TV's international cards. A staff member said they are still in touch with other international artistes. The hope is put together the best-ever New Year's Eve concert, while leaving both live & TV audiences with deep impressions. "We are also giving domestic fans more access to international music. After all, it is difficult for the majority to go see major international artistes perform. Counting down to the new year with major-leaguers like WONDERGIRLS & Avril Lavigne will be an unforgettable memory for many fans."

Wonder Girls jjang!!!!

i knew it !! they rocked the whole mama awards!!! even though 2ne1 had straight wins ( which is in my opinioN a little biased, =but i dnt hate them, in fact I like their songs=), WONDER GIRLS got an outstanding applause from the audience and I must say that they truly DESERVED IT.. They hard work really paid off, all the relentless practices and exhausting performance, whether in USA or Korea, raised them to a higher level.

Wonder Girls are veterans, professionals, just like Big Bang . They already made their history and is still making more, I doubt if I'll ever love another girl group as I have loved WG! I just hope that Wonder Bang would collaborate for one more time so I can die peacefully. :woot:

I AM ALWAYS PROUD TO BE A WONDERFUL!
