The Best OTT Original award went to the drama "Weak Hero Class 1" while the Netflix series "Scoop" won the awards for Best Asian TV Series and Best Lead Actress.

The Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards is part of the Busan International Film Festival, Asia's largest film festival held in the southeastern port city of Busan.

*** Lee Kwang Soo and Kim Woo Bin shared what it was like to shoot 'Unexpected Business 2' with Cha Tae Hyun and Jo In Sung, who are their friends. They were guests on the show's second season. Lee Kwang Soo said, "They are really nice people, but it felt a bit suffocating to work with them in 'Unexpected Business 2'." We are very close, but I'd be lying if I said I was completely at ease recording the show with them. However, Kim Woo Bin gave an entirely different answer to the question to embarrass Lee Kwang Soo. He said, "Well, they are close friends of mine, so I didn't feel that way at all. I had no idea Lee Kwang Soo felt so uncomfortable around them until this moment.", he joked, "It is shocking."  :Megalol:

3 Reasons To Look Forward To Variety Program "Unexpected Business 3"

Unexpected-Business-3-Poster-tvN.jpg

The world of Korean content is ever expanding. Long gone are the days when variety shows were only limited to broadcasting networks. With the rise of YouTube specific variety programs, there's even more opportunities for international fans to meet their favorite star.

While this might be the case, variety shows produced through broadcasting networks are still topnotch and manage to captivate audiences far and wide. One example of this is "Unexpected Business", which features legendary actors Zo InSung and Cha TaeHyun. The reality program sees the two become the bosses of a countryside grocery store for 10 days. For the latest installment, "Unexpected Business 3", the pair head off to America, transforming one store into an Asian grocery mart. The first episode is set to drop on October 26 at 8:40PM KST and fans are ecstatic!

The previews alone have been electrifying, raising the hype for the show even further. But in case this is your first time hearing about the variety program, don't fret — here are some reasons why you should look forward to "Unexpected Business 3".

1. Top Celebrities Working Regular Jobs

When they appear on screen all dressed up and acting in a role, they always seem like they live in a world outside of our own. So it's always a nice treat to watch celebrities immerse themselves in regular jobs like a grocery store worker.

Despite the cameras rolling, they are diligent in their duties and break a sweat in order to provide the best service.

2. Heartwarming Interactions With Customers And Guests

https://youtu.be/0Y1dKxyS0_M

Throughout the variety series, Zo InSung and Cha TaeHyun receive help from various celebrities. For "Unexpected Business 3", it seems they will be aided by fellow stars, Park ByungEun, Lim JuHwan, Yoon GyungHo, and Han HyoJoo.

The chemistry between everyone is just so entertaining to watch as they provide laughter, all while working hard at their respective tasks.

Then, their interactions with customers are truly a sight to see. Even people from America are able to recognize these Hallyu stars, showering them with immense praise. But even for those who might not know them, there's only smiles from their short, yet memorable conversations.

3. A Reunion Between "Moving" Couple

While Han HyoJoo appeared in the previous season of "Unexpected Business", things are a little different this time around. Recently, Han HyoJoo and Zo InSung were casted as husband and wife for widely popular Disney+ K-Drama, "Moving". Staying true to the name, they provided a "Moving" performance as love interests and parents, earning praise from fans and critics alike.

Seeing them reunite on "Unexpected Business 3" is a serotonin boost and a half for fans who miss the onscreen couple.

They still retain their heart-fluttering chemistry and we cannot wait to see more of it when the first episode drops.

*** Jo In Sung was honored with the Good People Artist Award at the 13th Beautiful Artist Awards ceremony. His striking presence was prominent as he made his entrance sporting a beard. On this day, he won the Good People Artist Award, bestowed upon celebrities committed to philanthropy. Jo In Sung’s list of good deeds is long and commendable. Despite his jam-packed schedule, he has spent 12 years supporting child patients at Seoul Asan Medical Center, funding the treatment of rare pediatric diseases, and sponsoring the construction of schools in impoverished regions of Tanzania, Africa. To add a layer of warmth, he invited around 30 individuals, including teenagers suffering from rare diseases, their families, and social workers, to the premiere of Smugglers"  this summer. Taking the stage, Jo In Sung got candid. “I’m embarrassed and shameless. The reason I started volunteering and donating stems from a selfish heart,” he shared, adding, “I was fortunate to become an actor and to be loved, so I ended up making more money than I thought. A wise man once advised me that it’s easy to become intoxicated with money, so why not remove its poison? Doing so would bring blessings. Thus, with selfish intentions, I began to extract the poison of money through donations. I’ve heard that if the poison is well-used, it turns into medicine. I think this medicine turned out to be beneficial for hospitals and those in need, so perhaps that’s why I received this great award. I’m sure this prize money has no poison. So desire rises within me to use it for myself, but I will donate it to those who need it.” The Beautiful Artist Awards have been an annual affair since 2011. It honors standout artists in the fields of film, theater, merit, philanthropy, and independent film. This year, the honorees include Lee Jung Jae, Lee Soon Jae, Director Im Kwon Taek, Jo In Sung, and Kim Seo Hyung.   :kicks:

*** tvN’s "Unexpected Business"  in California made a strong debut with a 6% viewership rating for its first episode. In the latest episode, Cha Tae Hyun and Jo In Sung face difficulties when trying to take orders over the phone from a local customer who wants to purchase ten rolls of kimbap. Things get even tougher when they can’t find the cash register and have to rely on POS machines with price tags for items. This means every time something with a price tag is sold, they have to manually update the inventory. To add to the chaos, they’re also dealing with the huge demand for kimbap – making them roll about 300 rolls of kimbaps a day. Right at the moment, Han Hyo Joo, Lim Ju Hwan, and Yoon Kyung Ho step in to lend a hand. Han Hyo Joo’s fluent English helps in communicating with local customers, while Lim Ju Hwan and Yoon Kyung Ho assist them as experienced part-timers. The show’s first episode offers viewers a fresh experience set in the Korean market in the United States. Additionally, you can tell kimbap is a hit also in the U.S.   :happydance:

*** The pre-recorded production presentation of tvN's 'Unexpected Business 3' was aired on October 26. During the event, something Lee Kwang Soo and Kim Woo Bin said about their experience as guests on the show was brought up during the October 11 production presentation of tvN's 'Green Bean Red Bean where two of the show's main cast, Lee Kwang Soo and Kim Woo Bin mentioned Jo In Sung and Cha Tae Hyun. They were asked what they felt about it. Lee Kwang Soo said he felt a little "suffocated" working with them on 'Unexpected Business 2', even though they are genuinely nice people. "We are very close, but I'd be lying if I said I was completely at ease recording the show with them.", Lee Kwang Soo said. After hearing what his friend had to say about him, Jo In Sung started talking. "'Felt suffocated', he said? Well, I don't know what to say. I should have smothered him more.", and jokingly added, "I'm going to have to punish him soon."  :kicks:

*** On October 25, Jo In Sung attended an annual awards ceremony 'Beautiful Artists Awards'. His new look is receiving negative responses from fans. He came to the awards ceremony with a black suit and surprisingly, a beard. I guess it was his first time growing that much beard since his debut. I'm one of them who doesn't like it because for me, he did not look good with a beard at all. I hope he shaves it off. I wonder why he decided to grow his beard? It's not for him. It really is not. His beard makes him look like an ahjussi who doesn't take care of himself. It doesn't suit him!

At the ceremony, he received 'Good People Artist Award', which is an award given to one celebrity each year for their good deeds. During his acceptance speech, he said, "I'm not sure if I deserve this award. I was simply lucky enough to become an actor and received so much love from many people around the world. As a result, I was able to earn more than some others. One day, one close wise elderly person told me, 'It's easy to get drunk on money, so why don't you just get rid of that poison? If you do, I'm sure good things will surely come to you. So, I started donating with a selfish mind. I believe that the poison has returned to me as medicine now. I'll keep donating. Thank you."   :heart4:

[HanCinema's news] "Smugglers" continues to lead OTT platforms in South Korea

photo1731842.jpg

Earlier this year, "Smugglers" was a highly popular film at the South Korean box office, earnings over five million admissions over the course of its theatrical run. According to figures released on November 3rd by the Korean Film Council, "Smugglers" has been purchased 177,699 times over the course of September, with "Smugglers" first being available to purchase on September 26th. "Smugglers" was no slouch over October either, being purchased 196,152 times over that month.

"Smugglers" stars Kim Hye-soo and Yum Jung-ah among others as seventies-era women divers who attempt to recover precious cargo dumped at sea. Contents Panda has been pleased with its performance, a representative for the distribution company stating that strong online performances are a natural consequence of strong theatrical performances and that this is being worked into their overall strategy. "Smugglers" was directed by Ryoo Seung-wan.
