Guest Kazen88
^ Yes, the M3 Simply is the same as the R4DS.
Guest aaandy
^ Get the CycloDS Evolution. I'm pretty sure it's the best Slot-1 solution available. It currently costs more than the R4 and M3 though and everyone is out of stock lol...

Guest srenity
^ [pg 91] Hey guys, I'm now a proud owner of a dsl. I have both the r4 and a micro sd. Problem is, I have no idea where to download the games? Would someone be able to direct me to a url? Sorry for sounding like such a noob Thanks!! i get mine just from this site, has everything i need clicky and if you prefer batch/torrent downloading you can -go to the M3 DS Simply Compatibility List -search for the games you want (ctrl+f) -keep the compatible game #s in mind -go to your favorite torrent downloads place (isohunt, meganova, etc) -search under the name of game with or without "NDS" (the games are in .nds format) -select what you want to download of the batches (if you have utorrent, you can check off the ones you want to d/l instead of waiting an hour downloading everything ^^;;; ) it's a long to-do list, but it's pretty simple =D i say that we should have a FAQ in the first page about r4/m3s or something =/
raito
wow that question has been asked a lot. Get the r4ds because it has: 1) downloadable r4ds firmware or updates as you said 2) All function listed listed in there website 3) Very highly compatible with nds games, if not then they might come with another update to make that certain incompatible game become compatible. For example: older version of the r4ds wasn't compatible with Zelda phantom glass Japanese version because of the frozen screen at the start but the newer version of r4ds fixes that. 4) I see most people in here has it
Guest Smileforjessie
is the r4 transferring process mac-friendly? it indeed is. well, for my m3 DS simpily issss! I have a macbook and putting games on my M3 is easy peasy.
Guest negitoro
is the r4 transferring process mac-friendly? Since R4 doesn't use any fancy software and it's all drag and drop, as long as Macs can use a MicroSD card reader, it should work just fine. Guest rapunzel283
My R4 was AU$60 shipped and 2GB Kingston microSD for AU$33 shipped (Ebay). (R4 = gamerswonder.com <-- Sydney based business... very good service ) Thinking of the money I've saved with the R4, it was worth the $93 I lost the Mario stylus I bought in my house somewhere T_T lol so I have to use the original one. It's too thin ._. (or maybe I'm too fussy D:) But I finished SMB so yay lol .

Guest res0nate
I'm from Canada (Toronto) and I wanna get a r4 and I wanna know where I can get one? Are there anyways other than buying it online? Thanks in advance =) None of the stores will have it, maybe Pacific and FMP. Don't buy from dealextreme, they're shipping from HK will take 2 weeks to ship. You could go on RFD and Craigslist to find sellers, their prices hover around 40-60 canadian. Guest srenity
****R4/M3 FAQ**** WHAT is this R4/M3 that these people in the thread speak of? it is a cartridge that goes into your slot-1 on your DS. similiar to a modified/mod-chipped playstation, you can download and play the games WHERE can i buy it online? amazon.com i got mine here from bf's sister modchipstore.com Kazen88 realhotstuff.com chyea_dann echostore.com MUGETSU dealextreme.com divineo.cn Range bamboogaming.com ongi3000 WHERE do i d/l the games? frozen roms nds roms http://ds.rom-new.org http://www.1rom.net http://www.romulation.net i want to download a LOT of them at once, how should i go about this? and if you prefer batch/torrent downloading you can -go to the M3 DS Simply Compatibility List -search for the games you want (ctrl+f) -keep the compatible game #s in mind -go to your favorite torrent downloads place (isohunt, meganova, etc) -search under the name of game with or without "NDS" (the games are in .nds format) -select what you want to download of the batches (if you have utorrent, you can check off the ones you want to d/l instead of waiting an hour downloading everything ^^;;; ) it's a long to-do list, but it's pretty simple =D ok, i got it, but HOW does this drag-drop thing work? here's my tutorial from the older R4 (but should work the same) ^take your transflash card out of its adapter and plug it into the card reader (that comes with your R4) and follow these instructions: the game files should be .nds <DIR> is the directory/folder. if R4s are universal, then press select until you can see games on your screen. -------------------------------------- what you should have in your mini sd card: _system_ [folder], _DS_MENU [DAT], [at least one game] say i want to play lunar: dragon song. i put it in the mini in its sd card and load up the ds. after you select the game button (with the pac man) you might get a buncha files from that top screen, all the files are shown. there are 26. i dont have 26 games btw, i have the save files in there too . in the windows screen in my first screenshot, the moonshl and the _system_ files were folders remember? the folders have a <dir> filename. in the tutorial you might've seen, the user probably had the games under a folder. (F:\lunar - dragon song\lunar - dragon song.nds maybe?) i'm not a computer pro, but that's what i can assume. the games will be in nds. press SELECT until the type of files that are shown are all games then just scroll down your game and play. it'll ask you to make a sav file before playing. say YES. the R4 has other capabilities such as playing music and videos. how does moonshell work? tutorial: mod.dev.homebrew forums (batchdpg for converting videos) I want to play GBA games too!! The CycloDS Evolution was $54 plus shipping. It also has DLDI driver so the homebrews work just fine. Another thing I like is that the games that don't have working download play can and have been fixed them with firmware upgrades. Also, I love that SD/SDHC (forward/backward) compatibility. i must note: from going 50+ pages back, i keep seeing aaandy bringing up the cycloDS everytime someone complains their local-game networking doesnt work . most games for the R4/M3 do not work for local multiplayer mode for more info: M3 wiki M3 support forum if there's anything else i should add, please PM me so i can edit my post! =]
