SUMMARY The Korea Times

  • Olympic stars compete in simple yet nostalgic games and activities on a set created to look like a classroom with celebrities as their competitors. The games will require the "athletes" to use simple school necessities like chairs, desks, mops and even buckets. Aiming to bring a more interesting and fun school environment, the show will combine elements of sport and school activities with the help of sports stars and celebrities.

Haha. I was shifting through the threads, and I saw this. I clicked on it because I've never heard of it; I saw the first post, and was like "wow, that looks like Ann's layout." I looked at the username, and saw that it was you. LOL

Delicious Quiz is canceled? I never watched it... could they have saved that show?

This show has an interesting concept, but I wonder how long it's going to last. The hype of the Olympics usually die within a year of the games until it gets closer to the next one. :X

Olympic stars Lee Bae Young (29) and Nahm Hyun Hee (27) will make an appearence on KBS 2TV's Happy Sunday.

Lee Bae Young and Nahm Hyun Hee will be appearing on Happy Sunday's segment "This is the Reason for Living" and they have been invited to appear first broadcast of "Schoolympic" as guests.

"Schoolympic" will follow the heart warming Beijing Olympics. Happy Sunday's other popular "1 Night 2 Days" will still remain. Combining the words "School" and "Olympic" it is named "Schoolympic" and it will take place at one school. At that school, different sports games will be held to offer fun and be sort of an "olympics" to the students.

"Schoolympic" will comprise of competition with the use of things such as blackboard erasers, rubberbands, mops, pews and other school supplies in various games.

Kang Byung Kyu, Hyun Young, Lee Jong Soo, Jun Jin and Kim Gun Mo will be appearing on the show. Happy Sunday Schoolympic is a special segment following Beijing's Olympic recalling Lee Bae Young's fencing event.

yeah, it was pretty boring... i kinda stopped watching it after 2-3 episodes.

i've been thinking that too. but seeing as they're varying the games with classroom things like rubber bands and erasers, etc..

i think it should be ok. i think the Olympians are just there as "famous sports people" to get the students hyped up.

but i think the guest stars are better at that. just imagine how they're gonna be when Junjin appears. lol~

wow this will truly be a variety show with the games they are going to be playing and the guests and "contestants" if you can call them that. the MC list is a good one especially with KBG being the lead MC since he is a former pro athlete and JJ and Boom are quite athletic themselves and Nick Khun is young. is Sung Dae Hyun the one that's become a regular on SGB?

He doesn't do anything at all on YMM2 because his Korean is not that strong yet.

Maybe he'll be more serviceable here because of the physicality.

at least he seems more suitable for this type of show than YSMM Season 2.

yeah, he'll have to enlist soon... i guess he's trying to do as much as he can before he disappears out of the spotlight for 2 years.

he's made for variety shows tho, so it's good. and he always aces ones with physical challenges.

This sucks this happened to Junjin on this show. Geez did the broom have blades attached to it?! The guest might have tried to kill JJ on purpose. lol

[08.09.03][news] Junjin receives 20 stitches on elbow after accident on Happy Sunday

Singer Junjin met with an accident on the set of KBS2's Happy Sunday, and had to receive 20 stitches on his elbow.

Junjin, the rising star of variety shows, was filming the new segment Schoolympics for Happy Sunday on 2 Sept when during a game a broom cut his arm, causing an injury on his right elbow. He was sent to a nearby hospital where he received 20 stitches. Fortunately the cut did not affect the bone, and Junjin returned to filming, though he couldn't participate in the game as actively.

A spokesperson for the show said, "One of the guests accidentally injured Junjin, and we were very worried. But Junjin returned to the studio after treatment, and we were relieved. It's fortunate that the injury did not hurt his bone and will not affect his upcoming activities."

Junjin has been active on MBC's Infnity Challenge and SBS' Yashimmanman Season 2. He will be holding his solo concert on 5/6 Sept. His schedule is unlikely to be affected by his injury.
