[OBS 독특한 연예뉴스 정솔희 기자] 비 주연 중국 드라마 '캐럿 연인'이 7월 22일 방송 일정을 확정했다.

한 드라마 관계자에 따르면 비가 중국 드라마 첫 데뷔작 '캐럿 연인(Diamond Lover)'이 절강TV와 안후이 위성 TV를 통해 오는 7월 22일부터 방송을 시작한다.

또한 비는 지난해 종영한 '내겐 너무 사랑스러운 그녀' 이후 차기작으로 중국 드라마'캐럿 연인'으로 선택하며 중국에서 연기자로서 제2의 도약을 알렸다

비는 '캐럿 연인'에서 세계 최고 다이아몬드 회사의 대표이자 완벽주의자 소량 역을 맡아 지난해 12월부터 중국 상해, 벨기에, 서울 등을 오가며 촬영을 진행한 바 있다.

특히 '캐럿 연인'은 우리나라에서도 리메이크된 '운명처럼 널 사랑해'의 원작 감독인 진명작 감독의 신작이자 중국 네티즌이 꼽은 '4대 신녀'로 선정된 인기 여배우 탕옌의 출연으로 방송 전부터 기대감을 모으고 있는 작품이다.

한편 비는 지난해 헐리우드 영화 '더 프린스'와 중국 영화 '노수홍안'에 출연하며 글로벌 배우로서 활발한 활약을 펼치고 있다.

Dear 9th Clouds, Rain Clouds, and Rain fans…

I’m sure I didn’t have to tell many of you that Rain’s birthday is on June 25, did I? Of course not.

Terri and I were actually considering doing a Cloud USA charity event for it this year, but time constraints have proven too great, so we’ll save it for 2016. Which is fine, because The Cloud (Rain’s Official Fan Community in Korea, of which we are a part) and the Japanese Cloud (Rain Japan Official) are already making plans for the day this year.

As Overseas Cloud master Heidi has announced, the Cloud executive is taking suggestions on how to celebrate Rain’s birthday. The Cloud is also taking donations as well from anyone who’d like to participate.

I’ve made a suggestion under that thread that I feel a collective donation to a worthy charity in Rain’s name would be nice. He likes when we do that, and giving to the needy is something that will never go out of style.

Rain enjoys hearing from his individual fandoms, but it makes him even happier when his Clouds all stick together. If that weren’t the case, then he wouldn’t have opened the doors of the Korean Cloud to global fans and additional languages, and the site wouldn’t be what it is today.

So, here’s what to do:

• If you have an idea for Rain’s birthday event, please make your comment under this thread on The Cloud (you must be logged in to the site).
• If you’d like to make a monetary donation (any amount is welcome), please PayPal your donation to heidi.shanghai@hotmail.com. She also says that if you wish to send a birthday message for Rain, please email it to her at the same address.

The deadline for contributions is June 15.

The Japanese Cloud (Rain Japan Official)

Rain’s official Japanese Cloud is also extending a hand to global fans this year and has invited us all to participate in their 2015 Rain Birthday Card Event.

Japanese Cloud master Hina and her team will print out your size A4 birthday image (.jpg OR .png) and include it with their messages to Rain. Email your images to her at cloudrainjapan@gmail.com. If you have questions for her, please comment under her thread on the Korean Cloud’s English Talk Board (you must be logged in).

The deadline is June 15.

Terri and I will be sending our donations and messages this week, and we hope you will join us if you haven’t already. Rain’s been working ridiculously hard and his fans are what keep him going, so let’s collectively make this a nice birthday for him!

Rain’s Chinese drama to take to air on July 22

Singer-actor Rain’s first TV drama outing in China is set to begin broadcasting on July 22.

According to reports, the drama starring Rain, or Jung Ji-hoon, will be broadcast in China from July 22 on two networks.

In the TV show, titled “Diamond Lover,” Rain plays the part of a perfectionist chief executive of the world’s largest diamond trading company.

Although Rain has starred in a Chinese movie, this is the first time he is starring in a TV drama.

Alongside Rain, Chinese actress Tang Yan will star in the drama, which began filming in December at various locations including Seoul, Shanghai and Europe.

Rain, Big Bang, Lee Seung Gi, and more at YG Family CEO's new restaurant opening in Hongdae

South Korean music mogul Yang Hyun Suk (formerly of 90s group Seo Taiji and Boys, now founder and CEO of YG Entertainment) held a launch party this past June 4 for his new restaurant in Seoul. Rain, Big Bang, Lee Seung Gi, Lee Seo Jin, Ko So Young, Ha Jung Woo, PSY, and other stars and members of the YG Family attended to show their support and enjoy a good meal.

SamGeori Butchers (삼거리푸줏간, directly translates to "3rd Street Butchers") uploaded a video of the event to their YouTube this past Monday

SamGeori Butchers specializes in pork dishes and is a joint venture between CEO Yang and lifestyle branding consultant Noh Hee Young, formerly of CJ Group. It opened to the public on June 5, and is located in the Hongdae area near Hongik University.

After making a strategic alliance with iHQ in 2013 and officially being listed on KOSDAQ, Cube Entertainment will be working with the talent management agency to bring exclusive videos on their artists. With the successful merging of Cube and its subsidiary Cube DC, fans can also expect to see Rain, Roh Ji Hoon, and Shin Ji Hoon in the video series, as one can also spot in the teaser below.

After Hyuna‘s return from Los Angeles, 4Minute members also updated their Instagram accounts where they seemingly gathered as a group for filming of CUBE TV as well.
