*** Rain grew up in Sinchon Seoul, with his mother, (Mrs. Jung) father and little sister, Hanna. Just months before his debut Rain lost his mother. She passed away on December 27, 2001.  RAIN 1st appearance on April 24, 2002 was on a cable music channel but the exact date  that he debuted was April 28..... RAIN considered her as one of "The 7 RainMakers " -    :P

*** The article below mentions about his C-drama. Currently, Rain has finished most of the shooting except for additional shooting, and it is said that he is currently working on the album. This is the album to be released after his 6th album 'Rain Effect' in early 2014 and the first album under 'Rain Company'. I highly anticipate this album. :P

*** I love his looks here with a little hair curls.....It's a CUTE curl indeed for RAIN. What I love about K-men especially celebrities are they can enjoy having those stylish haircuts, which later on can become a trend in the industry. ... like this picture of him with some curls ...And what I noticed in him is it is very easy for him to style his hair. K-hairstyles keep changing with time and events. ... it changed time to time. This kind of hairstyle (curl) of RAIN creates a more "hipster" look. So many male celebrities get perms.  Well, this is a phenomenon in Korea where perms never really went away.  K-hairstyles for guys are cool and stylish. :P

*** I read some articles that China closes door on K-entertainers. in fact, The Chinese government has recently ordered local broadcasters not to air K-dramas, movies or entertainment shows in apparent retaliation for Seoul’s rush to deploy a U.S.-led antimissile defense system in less than a year.  If true, it would be China’s toughest ban imposed on SKorea’s entertainment business so far. But, K-projects that already passed all legal procedures to be aired on Chinese TV will be excluded from the new rule.  One producer received an order from the government not to hire any K-celebrities on his show.  It’s an urgent matter. All broadcasters have been spurred into action. There were actors now who appear to have been affected by the measure when they were swapped with a Chinese actor in a TV ad.  Chinese media reports indicate that cosmetics brands are also discussing whether to change their K-models. I hope RAIN won't be affected on this matter. Most of his ad endorsements are from China, like Mentholatum & his newly-filmed CF recently (IDK what product is this, might be JVJQ -).  Also, LOVO, which he has a 2 year contract that started last March 2015 & the Wellcarefit. Wait & see..... :P

*** I read that Jun Ji Hyun has been replaced as a commercial model for a Chinese company as a result of what appears to be the Chinese government’s ban on Korean entertainment. Ahhh.............as I've said in my above post that most of RAIN’s CF are from China. So many K-stars have been replaced already. K-stars have been edited out of broadcasts as well.

BTW, I wish a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here who celebrates it. Thanksgiving Day is doubly special for the Korean Family. They never miss celebrating it. :P

Singer Rain to attend UK Fashion Awards 2016

 

SEOUL, Dec. 2 (Yonhap) -- South Korean singer-actor Rain will walk down the red carpet at a world-prestigious fashion awards show hosted in London, his agency said Friday.

This is the first time an Asian celebrity has been invited to the annual occasion, according to R.A.I.N. Company.

The Fashion Awards is a major award ceremony that honors rising designers and models who made major contributions to the industry throughout the year. This year's occasion, slated for next Monday, will feature a campaign where all of its profits will be donated to the British Fashion Council Education Foundation, a local charity that offers support to future talents who have the potential to make contributions to the fashion segment.

Last year's event was graced by global fashion figures, including Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Victoria Beckham and Lady Gaga.

This year's lineup will consist of Kate Moss, Alexa Chung, Barbara Palvin, and Karlie Kloss.

The ceremony will air live on South Korea's mobile broadcast application V app.

The singer, whose name is Jung Ji-hoon, shot to fame for his song "It's Raining," sweeping Asian charts upon its release in 2004. He has also pursued a career as an actor and producer by starring in Hollywood movies, such as "Speed Racer" and "Ninja Assassin," as well as launching his own management agency "R.A.I.N. Company" in 2015.

The artist is set to hold a concert in Singapore on Dec. 30.
