so the one who used to love JW's mother Gi San & now he's a police officer, does he know about JW real identity cuz on Ep1 he saw JW grandmother leaving him infront of the orphanage I think?

he is the other man that loved (or still love) her...

and in ep 1 he clenched his fist upon hearing JW cried after being born...

and because from that scene i assumed he love JW's mother too

and also still not trace for JW parents, are they gonna appear on the upcoming Eps?

But unfortunatelly Sung Yuri appearance time on Ep2 wasn't more than a minute when she was looking at mansion who used to be her house,

they still didn't reveal about her childhood memories with JS,

regarding JW parents... it may still remain a mistery for now...we shall see...

JW and SH childhood will probably show via flashbacks as we go deeper into the drama...

for now we know that JW remembers her...however, SH (according to the synopsis) may not remember JW until

It's a small point, but when the grandmother abandoned the baby, the camera panned up to a tower with a cross on it. I'm almost certain that the baby was left at a church, not just randomly by the side of a road. I guess we'll eventually find out, but if it was an orphanage, it must have been run by nuns. The cross was unmistakable.

I think they were in a tough situation & had no choice.

Mi Yeon's mom told her...it's bad enough that she's having a child before married...if people know the child's father is a gangster...her life is over. They can't keep the child because they won't be able to explain his existence to others.

Actually...she dropped the child in front of the orphanage.

From what I understood it, the guy hated the military camp he was stationed in and thought death would be more preferable (I think) than staying there... anyway, love at first sight between the guy and the girl?

I've got a question though... what happened to Jin Goo's character? He was shipped off, but he wasn't killed was he?!

so my question is.. did she like him? or was it rape? or did she just not want to run away with him? or what?!

I think that group of "gangsters" were on death role originally??? but were receiving their clemency and now their sentences were reduced to life in prison doing hard labor.

I don't think it's love at first sight but they gradually fall in love.

At first she just feels bad for him and wanted to help...but later she likes him...that scene where she put on lipstick and ran out to meet him...implies that she likes him. He also likes her because she's the only one who treats him like a person.

Although they don't have many scenes together...and the drama didn't elaborate on their love story...we can still feel feel their tragic love story through the background song.

Jin Goo's character...I think they just ship him off to another island.

I'm not sure if he'll reappear but even if he does...he doesn't know he has a son.

What i want to know is why that one guy hates his dad so much. And one thing i have to point out is why his mom singled out his dad when she saw all the men walking by? I wonder if he ever met his mother since he seemed to have grown up at the island with her.

The officer hates JW's dad because he was a criminal & criminal doesn't deserve respect ( in that officer's eyes ).

Like I said above...I think the whole group of criminals were originally on death role...so that's why they were treated badly.

The part his mom singled his dad out...I think it's just the director telling us that we should expect something between the 2 in the future...hehe...

It's classic Kdrama storytelling technique.

The character of Jung Woo is a bit peculiar to me. He seems to tolerate being called "worthless" and "trash" very well for some reason. And he seems to be eager to become Tae Hyuk's 'dog'. Is he just desperately trying to make something out of his life, or is there another part to him?

Yeah...I think he really wants to change his life...he readily admitted to TH that he was a lowlife gangster.

He seems uncomfortable sometimes but for the most part I have to agree with you...hehe...he has a high level of tolerance.

But Jung Woo seems to be a somewhat ambitious, loyal and kind (but really only to the people who are closest to him), adventurous, brave, and kind of romantic. UGH, the only thing I dislike about this drama is ... JW is already into SH.. and the drama has hardly started. And.. it's only because he liked to watch her play the cello when he was little. I dislike how in action-packed dramas... there has to be childhood development.. because there's no other reasonable way for relationship development between two people in the action-packed life of the guy if they had no previous ties before.

Um.. and weird scene on the plane.. Why is there some girl staring at JW randomly? Even by conventional standards, turning around to stare at a guy diagonally behind you is a very weird thing to do. Is she socially awkward? or arrogantly oblivious?

A questions to ponder on:

Why doesn't Jang Minho recognize Suhyun if she lived there before?

Yeah...I was thinking the same...how come this gangster is so "good" & likable...hehe...

Korean dramas always portray the guys to be so kind & romantic...keeping childhood crush's memories all their lives...it's supposed to be so romantic...hehe...

I think we're so used to this kind of storyline by now...it doesn't pack the same punch like the first time.

Also for the airplane scene...just another announcement that we should look forward to more of their future scenes...hehe...

I saw the first ep, it was pretty good. Only, I really cringed at the storyline between Jungwoo's parents. It was too sudden and their love line was so unbelievable, plus there was no chemistry between them. Maybe it was more unbearable because the girl was such a horrible actress.

Hehe...they don't have much time to develop their story so we have to take it as it is.

After watching Ep 3, JW seemed like a "fish out of water"... in TH's world.

It was cute the way JW was trying to clothes - what is it about guys in front of a mirror doing boxing moves?

Hehe...JW is a cinderella man...hehe...

I had to laugh at the doing boxing moves part...

I know someone who does exactly the same thing ...maybe be they think they look "cool" and need to express it somehow...hehe...

Ep 3 was interesting..

We have the rich son who gives his new found toy a task that is impossible, if not stupid and then a little vague. I'm still confused exactly what he wanted. Did he want... JW to find the girl? To research the girl? To bring the girl to him? To win her heart for him? To be honest, I'm not a big fan of TH. He's really typical. In any other Korean Drama, he'd be the one to get the girl... well, except for revenge dramas.

Wow...this post brought up so many points...I had to cut it up into many small parts.

I think TH wants JW to help make SH fall for him.

It seems JW tried to get close to SH before but she turned him down a few times.

That's why JW had to "research" & follow SH around...creating opportunities for TH to meet with SH.

Hehe...in a typical drama...he won't need to ask for help to get the girl...

LW is doing a pretty good job with his character...but because I know he's so much younger than Ji Sung...it's hard for me to believe their characters are around the same age. Also...because he's young...and his images from Stairway to Heaven/Heaven's Tree are still fresh in my mind...it feels strange watching some of his scenes...hehe...

Although actually, there are a lot of plots going on at the same time. TH's father and his business, SH and the entire mystery behind her (exactly why was she in his house before? and how does she know TH.. because it's obvious they knew each other), JW and his mother and grandmother.

Min Ho is an interesting character to me. I'm not sure who he is exactly and what his past but they seem to imply he was a thug, or a leader of some kind of shady organization.. I also wonder what his ambitions are exactly. But what interests me the most is his fear. Even from the beginning episode, we discover that he is afraid of killing (not that he shouldn't be) but almost acts as if he wants to be responsible for a human life once in his lifetime. When JW stood in front of him, he seemed to have a very strong urge to just go for it.. I can't explain the feeling that I feel like he wants to kill people but he's too afraid of the consequences. Maybe it's just my imagination.

JW vs TH is very interesting. TH is actually the honest one?! and JW is the manipulative one? Switch of main character personas... but it's cool because for once, the rich one is not the bastard and the poor one is not the shining prince with morals (Not that... TH is necessarily super kind or anything...) . Take, for example, SH's sister(?) whom JW blatantly uses and them dismisses with money. I actually applaud the scene. I completely expected, just out of Korean drama tradition, that her sister would slap him in the face and refuse the money, but actually even her pride eventually bows down to money. The same way JW does to TH and MH. SH similarly, picks up the money a drunk man gives her, and plays the song he requests. It brings up a point. Who are we, especially if we are poor or in need, to have an invaluable pride or priceless principles? Who are we to sweat the details?

I think all the mysteries will be revealed slowly...they're only giving us bits & pieces...like a puzzle.

First...we know SH used to live at that place...now Mr. Jang's mansion...when she was young.

Then we know JW likes that little girl.

Later on we know that JH is interested in SH...he only knows her name now...but he likes her or likes to get to know her.

When SH went back to her old house...Mr. Jang asked her the reason why she went there...she didn't answer him and just left...

Everything is like a puzzle...I only know the back story because I read the synopsis...otherwise...I'm just as clueless as you are.

They don't tell us much.

SH's character is interesting now...she's poor and really likes money...

It's so funny during the photo shoot...she kept insisting on modeling the swim suit because they pay more.

Right now she's doing so many part time jobs...can't wait to see her turning sophisticate & successful.

As for Mr. Jang...I don't think he likes to kill people...but we know he'll do whatever it takes to achieve his goal...that's why he asked JW to do it for him. Jun Kwang Ryun is a great actor...I love all his scenes...his coldness...it's scary and charming at the same time.

I have a strange prediction which would be scary if it came true... but maybe JW's father is the man he will be sent to kill.

Wow...it'll be cool & twisted if it were true...hehe...I didn't even think of that...anything is possible.

So i'm guessing that it's LW's father that took the house from her.

We don't know yet...but the synopsis said SH used to live on that land with her grandpa.

I wonder what happened to Ji Sung's mother and father. I mean, the last time we heard of them was when we see him being shipped off somewhere and she giving birth. We don't know if they're dead of alive.

I sort of have a feeling that perhaps the gangster father is also Ji Sung's dad. just a feeling though

Maybe JW's mother is dead after giving birth to him ( we weren't sure then but it was confirmed in episode 3 that she's dead), they haven't updated us about his father.

I think we can assume he's still alive.

I think he knows JW's real identity that's why he's been watching out for him.

He still loves Mi Yeon a lot...that's why his wife is having a hard time & feel jealous of the "dead person".

[아시아경제신문 문용성 기자]SBS 수목드라마 '태양을 삼켜라'에서 연이은 키스신으로 화제를 모았던 이완이 이번에는 극중 아버지 전광렬로부터 뭇매를 맞았다.

이완이 연기하는 장태혁은 어린시절 피도 눈물도 없는 아버지 장민호(전광렬 분)에 대한 상처 때문에 엇나사는 삶을 살고 있는 상황. 하지만 어느날 자신의 주먹에 맞고 친구가 죽게 된 뒤 그의 삶은 180도 바뀌게 된다.

22일 방송분에서 장태혁은 자신이 주먹을 잘못 휘둘러 친구를 죽게 했다는 사실을 알게 된 뒤 망연자실한 채 두려움에 떨게 된다. 이때 장민호가 이런 아들의 모습을 보게 되고, 정신을 차리게 하기 위해 인정사정 없이 폭행을 가한다.

실제 촬영 역시 실감나게 진행됐다. NG없이 진행된 촬영에서 전광렬은 이완에게 뭇매질을 퍼붓는다. 흰색 의상을 입고 촬영에 임했던 이완의 의상이 흙투성이로 변한 것은 물론 군데군데 찢어질 정도로 강도가 높았다.

하지만 이번 액션신의 강도는 이미 예견됐던 것으로 알려졌다. 촬영에 앞서 전광렬이 이완에게 "배를 때려야 하니 보호대를 착용하라"고 말했던 것. 이에 이완은 "선배님 도대체 얼마나 세게 때리시려고요"라며 긴장된 모습을 보이기도 했다.

친구를 때리는 액션신에서는 특별한 지도 없이도 잘 소화해 유철용 PD로부터 칭찬을 받아 "태혁이 액션신을 달라"고 너스레를 떨었지만 이번엔 오히려 만신창이가 됐다. 이에 스태프들은 "어쨌든 이것도 액션신"이라며 웃음을 띄웠다는 후문이다.

이완의 소속사 로고스필림 측은 "촬영을 마치고 전광렬 선배님이 본인이 더 아프다고 했을 정도로 이완이 머리부터 발끝까지 정말 실감나게 맞았다"며 "극중 다양한 모습을 선보이고 있는 이완이 이 드라마를 통해 점점 성숙해져가는 기대해 달라"고 밝혔다.
