Han Ye Seul's character, Kwang Sook, based on the news articles:

Kwang Sook and Goni had grown up together at their early years. (She is Goni's first love, actually.) Her happiness didn't last long, though. She was sold for money to the dark world, like a brothel. Going through ordeals, she became cynical about love, men and life, with her soul tortured. Somehow she later became a professional tazza and happened to meet Goni again after years of falling apart. After meeting Goni, she begins to change. Kwang Sook will be in a triangle love relationship with Goni and Young Min.

Thanks for the translation wils ...woahh based on the description Han Ye Seul's character will definitely be dark. I'd be really curious to see her acting in this kind of role.

By the way as for the character Goni...does anybody know what kind of character he is? I mean...is he cynical? easygoing? a scoundrel? sweet guy? I didn't watch the movie (and probably won't until after the drama is finished) so I have no idea what to expect.

Jo Seung Woo is one of my favourite actor ^so of course Tazza is a must watch .

well i think maybe you can say Goni is a mixture of everything of those . because the story starts from how he master the tricks of the game ...his determination to learnt from the best .before that . he had lost his savings (he even took from his sister 's money too). Well he was also cheated in the game , hence that is why he was bloodly hell mad.

..he wanted to get back what he lost and tracked down the person who cheated him . while on his tour of the country he heard of the master Pyung Kyung Jang played brilliantly by Baek Yun Shik in the movie version , and he wanted to learn from the master . the tricks of the game .

.. and then Goni entered the world of gambling where there will defintely be cheating and violence . and there is also Mdm Jang , a master of her own game . So , to survive , you need to have a poker face ....And the most exciting part is of the confrontation with the psychotic villian .A-gui.also wonderfully played by Kim Yoon-suk , and earned him a best supporting actor award. ( i think Kim Min jun based his role in Love on the role of A gui in Tazza. KMJ defintely scared me with his transformation in Love .in other words ...very well done .)

Goni also has a sort of romance in the movie .with this girl who works at a small bar (those that really sell drinks ) ah. the romance was innocent and sweet ~~.

.there is a demand for the sequel to the movie version because there is so much more to see of Goni adventures ..but then Jo Seung woo was saying unless it is the same director . he wont consider the sequel .i wanted to see how they are doing this in a drama version^ .Jang Hyuck and Kim Min Joon .is quite a refreshing combination ^.

..I will love it if they can get Kim Yoon-suk in here . a small role will be satisfactory too lol i was so disappointed he didnt turn up for Devil.. i love his mr Popcorn in Rescurrection and In Tazza movie version he did so amazingly as the villian .

허영만 화백의 만화를 원작으로 한 작품이 스크린에 이어 브라운관 점령에 나섰다.

허 영만 화백의 동명만화를 원작으로 제작된 SBS 드라마 '식객'에 이어 '타짜' 역시도 SBS 드라마로 부활한다. 이 두 작품은 단지 원작 만화를 토대로 드라마로 각색된 것뿐만 아니라 앞서 영화로 개봉돼 크게 흥행몰이에 성공했다는 공통분모를 갖고 있다.

영 화 ‘타짜’는 지난 2006년 개봉해 680만명의 관객을 동원하며 역대 한국영화 흥행 순위 7위에 랭크돼는 기염을 토했었다.‘타짜’는 영화 관객 뿐 아니라 이미 만화를 통해 많은 애독자들 역시 브라운관 앞으로 모을 수 있는 잠재 시청자 층이 많아 더 큰 흥행이 예상되고 있다.

만화에서 영화로 이번에는 드라마로 각색되는 ‘타짜’는 그야말로 각색의 과정을 거친다. 원작을 기본 토대로 각색자에 따라서 에피소드가 달라질 수도 있고 등장하는 캐릭터가 새롭게 추가되거나 인물이 조금씩 변화되는 작업이 수반되기 때문이다.

현재 드라마 ‘타짜’의 등장인물들이 차례로 캐스팅되고 있다. 영화 ‘타짜’에서 조승우가 맡았던 주인공 고니 역에는 장혁, 김혜수가 육감적인 몸매을 자랑했던 정마담 역에는 성현아가 각각 캐스팅돼 새로운 팜므파탈로 변신한다.

영화 ‘타짜’에서 긴장감을 고조시킬 수 있도록 열연했던 김윤석의 아귀 역은 김갑수, 고니의 친구로 나왔던 고광렬 역은 영화에서 유해진에 이어 드라마에서는 손현주가 각각 선보일 전망이다.

이 밖에도 영화는 물론 원작 만화에서도 등장하지 않았던 전혀 새로운 인물이 추가될 예정이다. 주인공 고니의 어린 시절 친구이자 적대관계에 이르는 영민 역으로 김민준이 등장한다. 영민은 아귀의 조카로 매서운 주먹을 가진 카리스마 넘치는 인물이다.

또 고니의 연인으로 여주인공에 한예슬이 낙점돼 고니와 영민 사이에서 삼각관계를 이루는 신비로운 분위기를 풍기는 여인으로 색다른 매력을 뽐낼 예정이다.

드라마 ‘타짜’는 오는 7월 촬영이 시작돼 SBS 월화드라마 ‘식객’에 이어 9월부터 안방극장 시청자들을 찾을 예정이다.

(리뷰스타 최인갑 기자)성현아가 드라마 타짜의 정마담 역으로 낙점되었다는 소식에 성현아를 아끼는 많은 팬들로부터 기대가 된다는 반응을 얻으며 기존에 출연했던 드라마와 영화 등에서 보여준 다양한 성현아의 모습이 다시 주목을 받으며 동반 인기를 얻고 있다.

그동안 우선 성현아가 그동안 보여준 영화 '첼로'에서의 섹시하면서도 시종일관 공포스러워 하는 표정연기 그리고 영화 '애인'에서 결혼을 앞두고 낯선 매력적인 남자와의 일탈을 통해 진정으로 사랑하는 사람과의 아름다운 만남과 섹시함을 동시에 생각케 하고 보여 주었다. 그 외에도 영화 '손님은 왕이다' 등에서도 신비스러우면서도 관능적인 모습을 통해 팬들에게 다양한 섹시미를 갖춘 연기자란 평가를 받았다.

Madam Jung, Agui (Kim Kap Soo)'s mistress and a core Tazza in the Agui's group, never trusts men, rather hates them, and seeks for money and power only. She gets Goni (Jang Hyuk) challenging Agui into a deep trouble. She takes advantage of her glamorous body to control over men and satisfy her desires, opposite character of Goni.

Attention has been given to Sung Hyun Ah on how differently she will portray Madam Jung compared to Kim Hye Soo who played the role in the movie version. Her management agency said in an interview that her hidden, tragic past story which will be revealed in the drama version only may add more entertainment to the storyline.

...I haven't had a chance to see her acting yet and look forward to seeing how she will act. Hope she will create the attractive Madam Jung of her own.

식객-타짜, 만화 원작 작품 스크린 이어 브라운관에서 “인기 이어갈까?”

(리뷰스타 황유영 기자) 허영만 화백의 만화를 영화화해 관객들의 사랑을 받았던 ‘식객’과 ‘타짜’가 브라운관에서 시청자들을 만난다.

지난해 11월 개봉해 300만 관객을 동원한 식객은 지난 17일 SBS에서 처음으로 전파를 탔다. 김강우, 이하나, 임원희에서 김래원, 남상미, 권오중으로 연기자가 바뀐 드라마 '식객'은 전달매체가 바뀐 만큼 달라진 부분도 많지만 재미만큼은 여전하다는 평가를 받고 있다.

'식객'은 만화적인 재미를 선사하며 첫 방송부터 월화드라마 시청률 1위를 차지했다. 특히 맛을 표현하는 CG나 오감을 자극하는 화려한 요리, 김래원, 남상미 등 신세대 스타들과 최불암 등 연기파 중견배우들의 노련한 연기가 조화를 이루었다.

올 하반기에는 타짜도 브라운관을 찾을 예정이다. 680만 관객을 동원한 타짜는 최근 주요배역 캐스팅을 확정했다. 장혁이 조승우가 연기한 ‘고니’역을 맡았으며, 김혜수의 관능적인 매력이 돋보였던 정마담에는 성현아가 캐스팅 되었다. 이외에도 아귀에 김갑수, 고광렬 역에 손현주가 캐스팅 되었으며 백윤식이 연기한 평경장 역할만 적임자를 물색 중이다.

Tazza Jang Hyuk receives private tutoring from a real Tazza

Being cast as the male lead 'Goni' of the SBS drama 'Tazza,' Jang Hyuk's giving an effort to learn tazza's hand juggling from an expert as the first fliming of the drama scheduled around July 20th comes close. Since he is now in filiming the movie 'Penthouse Elephant', he's puting extra time to learn tazza's techniques. According to his aides, he visits a tazza (professional hwatoo gambler) at least once a week and receives a special lesson all day long from morning to night. As the tazza wants to stay anonymous, only Jang Hyuk is allowed to enter the specialist's office to get education. Even his manger has to stay outside during the entire lesson. Since Jang Hyuk does not have much time to practice tazza's techniques, he mostly practices when being transported in his van or at the free time between filming movie scenes.

Besides him, all other cast members spend millions of hours in studying and practicing to learn tazza's techniques. None of them are familiar with Korean card games ('hwatoo'). The drama staff said they need to master the hand techniques to enhance the reality since the camera has limitations in making their awkward handling look professional.

전문가 개인강사 '특별과외' 도박 손기술 익히기 구슬땀

배우 장혁이 화투 삼매경에 빠졌다.

장혁은 9월 방송 예정인 SBS 드라마 '타짜' (극본 야설록·연출 강신효)에서 주인공 고니로 일찌감치 캐스팅된 이후 요즘 7월20일 전후로 예정된 첫 촬영에 앞서 화투 기술 배우기에 여념이 없다.

장혁은 현재 촬영중인 영화 '펜트하우스코 끼리'에서 주연을 맡고 있어 시간 나는 틈틈이 진짜 '타짜'(도박 기술 전문가)를 찾아가 특별 교육을 받고 있다. 측근들에따르면 그는 일주일에 적어도 하루는 '사장님'으로 불리는 개인 강사와 함께 아침부터 밤까지 하루 종일 꼼짝 않고 화투만 익히고있다.

장 혁 소속사측은 "영화 촬영 때문에 집중적인 연습이 어렵다. 촬영 중 잠깐씩 쉬는 시간이나 차로 이동할 때 늘 화투를 만지며살고 있다"고 전했다. 이 관계자는 "화투를 가르치는 분이 신원이 노출되는 것을 싫어해 장혁 외에는 아무도 교육이 진행되는사무실 안에 들어갈 수 없어 매니저도 밖에서 대기하고 있다"고 소개했다.

'타짜'에 출연하는 다른 출연진들도 '화투 과외'를 받기는 마찬가지다. 아귀 역을 맡은 김갑수나 고광렬의 손현주, 영민 역의 김민준 등 주요 남자 연기자들이 공교롭게도 모두 화투에 대해서는 문외한. 드라마 대본 상 모든 출연진들이 화투를 능수능란하게 다룰 줄 알아야 하기 때문에 이들도 요즘 화투 익히느라 여념이 없다.

그나마 이들에 비해 장혁은 MBC '고맙습니다' 에서 도박에 빠졌던 의사 민기서 역을 연기하면서 화투 잡는 법을 배워 초반 진도는 좋은 편이다. 드라마 제작진은 "배우들의열의가 필요하다. 촬영 기법으로 어느 정도 커버할 수 있겠지만 사실적인 장면을 위해서는 배우들의 유연한 손기술이 필수적이다"라고말했다.

만화가 허영만의 동명 원작을 소재로 한 '타짜'는 2006년 영화로 개봉해 조승우 김혜수 김윤석 백윤식 등의 호연에 힘입어 680만 명의 관객으로 한국영화 흥행 순위 7위에 올랐다.

Who will end up being Madam Jung, Sung Hyun Ah or Kang Sung Yeon?

A baffling news as we thought the casting is done.

On July 1st, an informer at the SBS drama department (who is in a high position) said he heard "the role of Madam Jung has been transfered from Sung Hyun Ah to Kang Sung yeon." Another insider also said "Kang Sung Yeon seems a better fit since the drama is postioned differently from the movie." However, the director Kang Shin Hyo caustiously mentioned "the casting hasn't been decided and will be done within next week."

[OSEN=최현유 기자] SBS 드라마 '타짜'(야설록 극본, 강신효 연출)의 정마담 역을 놓고 제작진이 배우 성현아를 쓸까 강성연을 쓸까 고심 중이다.

1일 오후 SBS 드라마국 고위 관계자는 "정마담 역이 강성연으로 교체됐다고 들었다"고 말했다. 다른 관계자는 "정마담 역의 캐릭터가 영화와는 다르게 바뀌면서 강성연이 더 어울릴 것 같다는 분위기다"고 전했다.

극중 정마담은 주인공 고니(장혁 분)를 곤경에 빠뜨리는 아귀(김갑수 분) 측의 핵심 타짜로 돈과 권력을 위해 화려하고 뇌쇄적인 미모를 앞세워 도박판의 남자들을 좌지우지 하는 인물이다

연출을 맡은 강신효 PD는 "아직 확실하지는 않은 사안"이라며 "이번 주 내로 결정될 것"이라고 조심스럽게 얘기했다.

드라마 '타짜'는 허영만 화백의 만화를 원작으로 한 작품으로 2006년 영화로 만들어져 600만여 관객을 동원한 바 있다. 영화에서 정마담 역은 배우 김혜수가 맡아 열연했다. 오는 9월 방송 예정.

Like DaeMul, Tazza reveals a conflict between the production company and the broadcaster.

It seems the production company insists the director on casting Kang Sung Yeon for Madam Jung instead of Sung Hyun Ah. Kang Sung Yeon's management company is Olive Nine, the very production company of Tazza. The Sung Hyun Ah side accused the production company of using its clout on casting. The first script reading meeting was scheduled on June 30, but cancelled due to this dispute.

(서울=연합뉴스) 윤고은 기자 = 드라마 '대물'에 이어 '타짜'도 제작사와 방송사간의 갈등이 공개적으로 표출됐다.

2일 SBS에 따르면 '타짜'의 캐스팅을 두고 연출자와 제작사 간의 갈등이 벌어지고 있다. '타짜'의 정마담 역을 놓고 성현아 캐스팅을 공식화했던 SBS는 최근 "정마담으로 강성연도 고려하고 있다"고 입장을 바꿨다.

이에 대해 SBS의 한 관계자는 "연출자가 성현아를 캐스팅했는데 갑자기 제작사가 강성연 카드를 내밀며 출연자 교체를 요구하고 나섰다"고 전했다.

'타짜'의 제작사는 올리브나인으로, 강성연의 소속사이기도 하다.

성현아 측은 "연출자와 모든 얘기를 다 끝나고 계약서에 도장을 찍는 절차만 남아있던 상태였는데 아무 이유없이 제작사에서 자꾸 도장 찍는 것을 미뤘다. 확인해보니 제작사 소속 강성연을 정마담 역에 밀어넣기 위해 계약서 작성을 차일피일 미루는 것이었다"고 주장하며 "명백한 제작사의 횡포"라고 비난했다.

9월 첫선을 보일 '타짜'는 촬영을 앞두고 지난달 30일 첫 대본 연습이 예정돼 있었다. 하지만 정마담 역을 놓고 잡음이 일면서 대본연습이 취소됐다. 성현아 측이 방송사와 제작사에 강력 항의하면서 예정된 스케줄을 진행하지 못한 것.

이에 앞서 SBS는 '대물'의 제작을 놓고도 제작사와 방송사간 마찰을 빚었다. '대물'의 제작사 이김프로덕션이 준비과정에서 SBS 소속 연출자와 갈등을 빚자, 연출자 교체를 요구하고 나선 것.

그러자 SBS 드라마국 PD들이 '제작사의 횡포'라 주장하며 집단적으로 거세게 반발하고 나섰고, 결국 '대물'은 SBS 편성이 무산되고 말았다.

Yeah..hope the dispute be resolved soon. It's hard to trust media reporting these days since the reporters just write up something out of nothing or shallow knowledge. So, better wait to hear the final decision is officially confirmed by both parties. If Sung Hyun Ah has almost reached an agreement on details and only waited to sign the contract and all of sudden the verbal agreement was turned down, I understand how much she would be baffled, frustrated and angry, although I like Kang Sung Yeon more than Sung Hyun Ah.
