I didn't know Bom's wedding dress is that long. She has cut it off a lot to make it short to show her stunning legs

[News] 2NE1′s thoughts on their first solo concert: “Our hearts are full and happy”

b6bw4z.jpg

After waiting for 2 years, 2NE1 has finally completed their first solo concert. When asked about their thoughts after wrapping up the concert, they said, “Our hearts are full and happy. We had a lot of fun.”

On 28 August, at 10PM, 2NE1 met with reporters after wrapping up their ‘Nolza’ concert which was held in the Olympic Hall within the Olympic Park located in Seoul, Bang-idong. They expressed to reporters, “We have always wanted to have a concert since 2 years ago. Finally our dream has been realized. It was tough doing the concert, but we’ve become addicted to it and we want to do it again.”

12 000 concert goers attended this year’s ‘Nolza’ concert. Among these, 2000 were overseas fans, which is proof of 2NE1′s popularity. 2NE1 were obviously tired when we met them after the concert ended. But mixed with the tiredness was happiness and satisfaction at having their dream realized.

The next portion contains our Q&A session with 2NE1

- What are your thoughts and feelings after the concert?

The stage for this concert was set up a week before the concert, after which we had a full-dress rehearsal. But after the first night, we amended the order of the setlist. We wanted to make the concert more exciting, so we changed around the order of the performances. During this concert, we thought, “This is really fun”.

- We heard all of you cried during the concert?

Our hearts were so full even before the concert. People usually don’t cry when they are happy, but tears always flow when something comes to an end. Tonight was our last concert. Not only that, this also marks the end of the promotional activities for our mini album, so our tears just flowed. (Sandara)

- A concert has always been the goal of 2NE1. Now that you’ve done it, what are your feelings?

Even before our debut, we said that to hold a concert is 2NE1′s goal. Now that we’ve done it, we realize that it is actually really tough. Our voices became hoarse, and it was also really tough physically. But still, I think we’ve become addicted to it. And we also realized that there are many people who work hard for us and support us. I feel very touched at this and it makes me work even harder. It’s so nice to plan and come up with a concert together. (CL)

- Are there no regrets that the concert hall was so small?

Of course a larger venue would have been better, but this concert at the Olympic Hall was great as well. I think the size was just right. What’s important about a concert is interaction with the audience, and the atmosphere in the 4000 seater Olympic Hall was great. (CL)

- Park Bom came up with a performance with her sister at the concert. How was it?

I met my sister again after the performance and there were tears at the corners of her eyes. I am touched that I got to come up with a performance with my sister.

- Did the CEO of YG Entertainment, Yang Hyun Suk have any words for all of you?

After the first night, he changed the order of the setlist. On the second night, after the concert ended, he said well done. Today, he told us to do our best and have fun as it was the last night. Everyone from YG Family came to cheer us on. We were always the ones going to concerts, this time people were coming to our concert. It’s a new feeling.

- Your thoughts while ending this round of promotional activities?

This was the longest round of activities that we had and we did many things. We performed all the songs in our mini album and had a concert. We also made music videos for all our songs. We were really busy and I think we have done many different things. We must now rack our brains for what to do next.

- What are your plans next?

Our fans now know a lot about us and sometimes I worry if they will get sick of us. So I think we should hide ourselves well till our next round of activities and then ‘bam’ suddenly appear. Our next plan is to surprise our fans.

- We heard CL came up with her own solo stage?

We actually planned to have Park Bom or Sandara do a solo at the start. But our president asked if Minzy and I would like to do a solo stage, so we thought about it. I thought that I would like to show a different side of myself so I decided to have a rap solo, but it seemed kind of bland to just rap, so I decided to do a cover of a song I like and re-write the lyrics of the rap in order to show the most CL-ish performance.

- We heard your fans donated rice. What do you intend to do with it?

We don’t know yet. We will discuss and make a decision.

Ep 12 is so so so good. I love the acoustic version of Ugly in this episode. Guitar tone makes the song even more emotional. I feel like there's something cut deeply into my heart when I listen to it :tears: .

2NE1 - 10asia Interview

I learned what love is through our concert

HjFsF.jpg

2NE1's second mini-album has probably meant more to the girl group than being just another release. They promoted most of the songs from it including "Don't Cry," "Lonely," "I am the Best," "Hate You" and "Ugly" and all of them placed No. 1 on music charts. Hence their concert held in Seoul from August 26 to 28 marked the end, as well as the climax, to their record-breaking activities. Their concerts were sold out and 2NE1 poured their all into the two-hour long shows where they sang all of their songs. Below are excerpts from the press conference after the last show on the last day of their first-ever concert.

Q How does it feel having held your first concert since your debut?

CL: We worked on our weaknesses up until the last day of the concert by changing the order of our performances so we were extremely busy the whole time. That's why I'm sad to see that it's over but I've realized that concerts really are a lot of fun. Sandara was on the verge of crying before the first show. (laugh)

Sandara Park: I was so overcome with emotion that I choked up. And I don't know why but I shed some tears as well. Today was the last day of our show as well as the last day we're promoting our second album so I really choked up with emotion.

Minzy: Getting to communicate with many people through our shows was just great in itself and I felt a lot of energy. I think I learned what love is through our concert.

Q Love? (laughs)

Minzy: I think I came to feel what the love is between a fan and a singer by receiving the emotions they expressed toward me at the concert. (laugh)

CL: Although we've lost our voices and we had a tough time physically, we realized that a lot of people work really hard for the four of us. We're very grateful about that and I think it's important that we worked harder even because of that.

“I liked how we could look at each and everyone's response.”

twYVS.jpg

Q Now that you have experience preparing for concerts, what do you think is the difference between performing for those versus on television?

CL: We try to act as freely as we can when we're on television but we have even more freedom for concerts. I realized that this is why singers want to sing.

Sandara Park: On music programs, you can't help yourself from trying to look pretty all the time since you're on camera. (laugh) But I liked our concert because I could just sing and jump about as I please. I thought I wouldn't be able to jump about for two whole hours because I'm not strong enough to (laugh) but we managed to pull it off so I now know how important our fans' energy is.

Q The Olympic Hall that you performed at is a medium-sized concert hall. Don't you want to perform at a bigger venue?

CL: I personally think this it was the right size for us. I really liked how I could look at each and everyone's response during the concert. I don't think it would be good to perform at a venue that's too big because the bigger the venue, the more difficult it gets to keep in tune with the audience and I'm sure the audience too are there to listen to us and feel our music. I think it worked for us perfectly.

Q What did your producer Yang Hyuk-suk say of your shows?

CL: We were very busy the first day because we changed about the order of our concert a lot but from the second day on, he told us we worked hard. Does that mean we did well? (laugh) So I told myself I'll just have fun today. Plus Ji-yong (G-Dragon) came to our show all three days and Teddy came as well. We used to be the ones that go to watch other people's concerts so it felt different seeing the YG Family come see our show.

Q Park Bom, your cellist sister participated in the concert as well.

Park Bom: This is the first time we did something like this and I was worried our performances wouldn't go well together. But we ended up working well together and I personally think it was a good opportunity. I almost cried during our performance.

“We will update news on ourselves wherever we are.”

5Bczl.jpg

Q Your fans from overseas sent you 2.2 tons of rice ahead of your concert. Where do you plan to use it?

CL: We were told we could decide where to send it so we plan to donate it where it will be of most use after the four of us discuss on it.

Q You're set to go to Japan after the concert, right?

CL: We'll be releasing our first album in Japan and plan to hold a concert there as well which will be the exact same performance as this. This is the longest time since our debut that we've promoted an album and we performed all the songs from it at our concert. We also shot music videos for all of them. So as much as we've worked really busily, I'm happy because it feels like we've done a lot. We'll probably start thinking of what to do next while taking a break.

Sandara Park: We will update news on ourselves wherever we are since I have a me2day account so I'd like to ask my fans to wait for us. (laugh) We'll always act like we're close by, even if we're far away.

Q What's your next goal now?

CL: We showed our fans many sides to us through this album so we're worried they may be sick of what we do in our next album. That's why we want to present them with a new type of shock next time we meet with them. That's always our goal. To stun everyone. (laugh)

Are they still going to the thames festival in London?

Thames Festival is September, right? It might not be possible because 2NE1 still have a concert in Japan days after that festival. But who knows?

This is what YG said before regarding the chances of YG artists participating on that event:

"Situation of Daesung (BIGBANG) and also 2NE1 will have Japan promotion on September." - sports chosun

They will be busy with Japan promotion. The London event has a slim chance or not at all.

Haha. My bad. I overlooked the post of @sjaikb, the article has been posted. blush.gif
