Guest lovegood
I bought a Mini Diana two days ago (: It's beautiful, ain't it? haha. I haven't bought film yet, but I'm hoping to get some tomorrow. Before I bought this, I only had a supersampler, which was really easy to use. The Diana is a little confusing to me, but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. Guest lovegood
So today I started using my Mini Diana, and honestly, I'm so confused ;_; Hopefully someone can help me answer some questions? 1. For long exposure photos at night, what exactly does long mean!? I clicked the shutter for about 1.5 -2 seconds for my long exposure photos (I took photos at a night market in taiwan, if it helps you guys imagine the setting), is that too long or too short? 2. When taking the rectangular photos, do you snap once, then turn the advance wheel fully before taking another? I thought I only had to turn the wheel 1/4 of the way, but it turned 1/2 before stopping? I read the mini diana instruction book like 4 times and I still have trouble using it x_x I'm such a photography/lomography noob. My first roll probably turned out horrible. fffuuuuuuuh. Guest d0ts
NN?#02 : haha, thanks! actually the vivitar ultra wide and slim is pretty much the same thing as other point and shoot cameras, like the white slim angel. so i think if you have that already, you wouldn't need a vivitar UWS. lovegood : 1. for me, i have always held down the shutter for like more than 10 seconds. sometimes 20 seconds? night markets huh... it's very bright there right? like with all those signboards and stuff. hmm... i guess u can only see the results when you develop your photos. haha, i'm not very experienced with bulb exposure and stuff. 2. you mean when u wanna take 2 consecutive rectangular snapshots? yeah, just turn the wheel until it stops i think. but when u switch between the rectangular shots and the square shots, you will have to put on the cover lens. meaning like rectangular frame shot exposed -- put on cover lens -- snap a blank black shot -- switch to square mode -- take out cover lens and snap photo (in square frame format)? that is if i'm not wrong. haha, i think it should generally work this way? the blank shot is to prevent your rectangular format shots from overlapping with the square format shots. i'm going to taiwan soon, like in 5 more days! hahaha can't wait to go to those night markets too. beancurd
some shots @ keppel bay and my Malacca trip. not many nice one =( First roll for my Horizon 202 but I got 16 shots only. loving it though it always get stuck when I am at the aperture mode. how to better understand which mode to use? I have problem with choosing the right aperture and shutter speed. Using horizon 202 with Provia 100F Using Eximus with Velvia 100F Using Eximus with Kodak Tungsten T160 d0ts - nice photos and the 4th one really looks like a fisheye effect. enjoy your Taiwan trip and bring nice photos back =)

Guest NO NAME?
Ah, right. I just noticed this a few minutes after I posted. Haha. I think I broke my Golden Half Thinking of getting one of the SuperHeadz wide lens cameras or a Holga 135TIM (♥ half-frame photos)
Guest jjennuhhferr
i have a lomography fisheye, and i was wondering if i used expired film with it (like, 5+ years worth of expiration) would it still work & develop fine .__.
Guest Batgirl
i have a lomography fisheye, and i was wondering if i used expired film with it (like, 5+ years worth of expiration) would it still work & develop fine .__. some people keep expired film by covering it and putting it in a cool place (fridge or something i believe) and even then it's still kind of a toss up of whether it'll come out perfect or not. 5 years sounds too long, and i'm guessing you didn't fridge it. So if i were you i'd just toss it and pick up a roll at cvs for $
Guest Justalilodreamer
i have a lomography fisheye, and i was wondering if i used expired film with it (like, 5+ years worth of expiration) would it still work & develop fine .__. I've seen photos taken with film that expired 10+ years ago (some really crazy effects). Possibly a portion of the pictures won't turn out the way you want, but they might have some really interesting effects. I say five years is probably fine if you're into that expired film surprise. I dunno if you know this, but a lot of people who are into lomography actually prefers to buy expired film because you can get some cool distortions (sometimes).
