Song Hye-kyo to go to Cannes with "The Crossing"

Actress Song Hye-kyo is going to Cannes to promote "The Crossing".

A press conference will be held in Cannes on the 17th with Song Hye-kyo and other stars.

Song Hye-kyo and Zhang Ziyi as well as director Oh Woo-sang are going to have a press conference on the 17th and interviews on the 18th.

Song Hye-kyo's agency UAA claims, "We haven't received any itineraries yet. When the film company tells us what's going to happen, we adjust our schedules. She is going to the press conference, though".

There is also going to be an interview with media from all over the world.

Meanwhile, "The Crossing" is based in Shanghai about a woman who is born in the financial district starring Song Hye-kyo, Zhang Ziyi, Chang Chen and Takeshi Kaneshiro.

Song Hye Kyo will be attending Cannes Film Festival.

Song Hye Kyo will be attending The 67th Cannes Film Festival on May 14 and introduce her Chinese movie The Crossing. She will also be attending a press conference for The Crossing on May 17 followed by an interview with the reporters on the 18th.

As The Crossing is a foreign film and Song Hye Kyo acted along with top stars such as Zhang Ziyi and Takeshi Kaneshiro, her international fame is expected to rise once more. 



Song Hye Kyo attended Cannes in 2008 for The Crossing’s press conference. The Crossing is an epic drama film setting China during late 1940’s as the background. 

However, The Crossing went through a series of planning and cancellations over the past six years and finally was able to wrap up filming and is currently undergoing one final editing process.

Baek Jin Hee assures everyone her character in 'Triangle' will be different from Song Hye Kyo's in 'All In'


As it turns out, the producer and writer for the popular 2003 Korean drama 'All In' are also creating the upcoming MBC drama 'Triangle'. There are already some people comparing casino dealers Song Hye Kyo and Baek Jin Hee from the dramas. However, Baek Jin Hee assured everybody during the 'Triangle' press conference that she will be different from her predecessor in 'All In'.
A reporter said, "You were unable to avoid comparison to Song Hye Kyo," to which Baek Jin Hee replied, "You cannot say I'm the target of comparison. I am Song Hye Kyo's fan, but I cannot dare to approach her; and therefore, cannot be the object for comparison. In 'All In', Song Hye Kyo portrayed her character so prettily. However, my character in 'Triangle', Oh Jung Hee, is very different from Song Hye Kyo's character. Consequently, a different feel and color will definitely come out."
The producer likewise assured everybody that this production would be greatly different from his previous one, 'All In', despite the fact they both deal with casinos. Check out 'Triangle' when it premieres on May 5!

I might be the minority here, but really dun like the way they reported Kyo recieved the money even her side haven't confirmed or anything and somehow i dun believe the news though  :|  , a bit odd, imo.

Actress Song Hye Kyo will be heading to this year’s Cannes International Film Festival to promote her upcoming movie, “The Crossing“, directed by veteran Hong Kong filmmaker John Woo. 

Representatives from her agency, UAA, confirmed the news, saying that the star will first attend a press conference on May 17, before taking part in media interviews the following day. A spokesperson for the agency explained that although the exact details of the showcase had not been finalized, preparations were already in place.

“We are expecting Song Hye Kyo to do a lot of interviews in Cannes. There will also be a big media presence from Korea, so it is important that she attends this festival,” said the spokesperson. 

John Woo, director of movies such as “Face/Off” and “Mission: Impossible II“, is also expected to be in attendance at the event, as well as co-star Zhang Ziyi, famous for her roles in the films “Hero” and “Memoirs of a Geisha.” 

“The Crossing” tells the story of three couples who take an ill-fated boat to Taiwan to escape an uprising in mainland China in 1949. It also stars Taiwanese-Japanese singer and actor Takeshi Kaneshiro, and is tentatively scheduled for release at the end of this year.
