As some of you may know, there are already huge Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournaments all over the States right now.

Nintendo and Best Buy team up to crown a national champion.

Attention all Smash fans: Put up your dukes! Just before the launch of the much-anticipated Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario and friends are hosting four regional Wii tournaments. The competitions will visit Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and finally New York for a Midnight Madness Launch event at the Best Buy store at 622 Broadway in New York. All of the 256 participants at each location will receive a $10 Best Buy gift card. One lucky grand prize winner will receive a custom-designed, crystal-covered Wii, a home theater system from Best Buy and other prizes.

"Super Smash Bros. is one of the world's most popular game franchises

because it draws in characters from across the Nintendo universe and beyond

for some all-out fighting fun," said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's

executive vice president of sales & marketing. "Super Smash Bros. Brawl has

extreme appeal among our core audience, but these tournaments are a great way

to get new fans involved as well -- before the game is even available in

stores."

Each regional tournament will provide the first 256 people in attendance

the chance to "brawl" one-on-one with other contestants in a

single-elimination tournament to determine a winner in each market. Regional

winners will face off in a final multiplayer "brawl" at the New York City

tournament.

The grand prize winner will receive a crystal-coated Wii with a design

from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, a home theater system from Best Buy and a copy

of the game. The second-place finisher will receive one Wii system and Wii

Remote, one copy of Super Smash Bros. Brawl and a $1,000 Best Buy gift card.

to Link to Pikachu, as well as new characters like Solid Snake, a

gritty soldier from Konami's hugely popular Metal Gear series, and Sonic The

Hedgehog. The combat-filled game lets characters of all kinds brawl until only

one is left standing. Its predecessor, Super Smash Bros. Melee, was the

best-selling game of all time for Nintendo GameCube. Super Smash Bros.

Brawl has more characters, more features and more action-packed fun. What's

more, Super Smash Bros. Brawl uses Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, which allows

up to four players to simultaneously brawl no matter where they are based. For

I'm dying for Super Smash Bros. Brawl to come out. I loveee Super Smash Bros..

I'd get the Japanese version just to try it out, but I can't read Japanese. x] But from what I've read, SSBB sounds awesome.

You're going to use Wii remotes? I'm sticking with the gc controller b/c it's been loyal for 6 years, hahah.

Oh man, I'm getting more excited for the release of Mario Kart & Super Smash Brother Brawl. I can imagine how difficult it'd be to play SSBB with the new Wii remote, so I think I'm going ot get the old controllers, tehe (:

I feel bad for not playing Super Mario Galaxy lately, it's been so neglected -sigh-

I picked up resident evil 4 just based on the recommendations here, and i gotta say its a damn good game. I was never a huge fan of the Series, in fact it kinda creeped me out. But RE:make for the gamecube changed my mind. Played RE:make, beat it (not completely, because i'm not insane) than bought RE:Zer0 and never finished it because i got scared (there i said it). So i was kinda hesitant on buying this because i thought i wouldn't finish it and because i thought for 30 bucks this game is gonna suck. I was pleasantly surprised though. Moving around and aiming with the wiimote is definitely easier than standing and aiming for a headshot with the standard GC controller. And even though the game was scary (i jumped from my seat on a couple of times) it wasn't too scary. When i say that i mean scary to the point of me turning off the game and returning it to gamestop for like 5 bucks.

The mood and the music is probably the best i have heard in a game (i dont play Zelda). it was perfect for creating the dark and foreboding atmosphere to go along with the creepy locations, and creepy enemies. Even though in one part of the game the lack of music actually creeped me out than the levels with music, its just weird.

Game play was awesome playing this game and playing RE:make are two different beasts (no pun intended) it makes me think how was i ever afraid of a slow moving dumb-as-a-pile-of-rocks zombie compared to these fast moving, intelligent non-zombies. They move when you try to snipe them, and they call out their non-zombie buddies to try and kill you. the chainsaw guys are downright scary cause its a one-hit kill pretty much. Your tactical vest doesnt do jack when it comes to these guys. ;) Granted like with other RE games the shotgun is my savior. Especially the upgraded riot gun variety. i never bought the striker not because i didn't like it, i knew it was a better one but because it didn't look as cool as the riot gun. Flame me if you must but i thought i did just fine with my upgraded riot gun. I also like the semi-auto rifle upgraded with scope because it doesn't hurt to take out as many enemies before you go in and finish them off.

Like with the other RE game i played the series is pretty much about conserving ammuntion. Learn to use the knife and you'll save your bullets for when you really need them. There was plenty of times where i wish i had more ammo, but didn't have it. It forces you to play smarter, almost splinter cell like where you have different options of disposing your enemies. Aim for RED BARRELS when you can, its really helpful.

Also know your herbs, for the noobies out there R+G+Y herbs extends your health and heal you fully. Always be on the lookout for them and try to combine when you can. I had Leon to full health by the end of the game with his tactical vest. I almost felt like a drug addict constantly searching for herbs ;)

Like i said before the game play was awesome. The Wii tends to lend itself to games who overuse the motion sensor and as a result lead to horrendous games. But RE4 doesn't do this it used the motion sensor very smartly. The greatest function i think is the ability to aim the reticle with the wiimote helps tremendously. If i had other systems to play this on i don't think i could play it as well. It took me a while to learn how to run because like most guys i thought i knew everything and put the disc in and just started going at it. Looking back knowing how to run would've probably saved me some lives in the village (first time around)

One thing that got me frustrated was Ashley. Seriously you can't do anything with her and you cant progress further into the game without her. I mean shes not the most useless NPC I've ever had (MOME in PSO was) but she cant even equip a weapon. She ducks most of the times you want to fire your weapon but a couple of times she didn't and i ended up blowing her up with my shotgun. She can't even get down from high places that she climbed up to. At least cats will come down from trees when they're hungry enough. Even NFTP, my girlfriend thought Ashley was incredibly annoying (she sat through most of it while i played and pointed to things that i would've missed.

All in all though this game is a steal at 30 dollars. Action packed, perfectly paced, great atmosphere, precise controls (it feels really natural with the wiimote and nunchuk, great characters (with the exception of Ashley :tongue2: and like all RE games loaded with extras and goody's for you to find and complete if you're just that masochistic (mercenaries, anyone). This game is great by yourself and even greater with a co-pilot. Nothing says love like watching your SO Head Shot a non-zombie with a riot gun!

Saving is also great because in the other RE games you had to look for ink cartridges to use the typewriter to save. Needless to say i felt an overwhelming sense of dread hte first time i saw a typewriter in this game. I immediately thought "Oh %#*! i don't have any ink!" but i just walked right up and saved. Though great, i think it made the game a little too easy. Needless to say i completed the game in about 22 hours, 78% hit accuracy, 959 enemies killed, i died 70+ times and saved i think around 66.

I give it a 9.5/10, simply for the fact that you can save a little too much and that reduced the scare factor for me. Because nothing scares you more than having done all these great thing in the game, your life meter flashing red and no ink cartridges to save. But aside from this it really is a great game, i thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to beating this on pro mode soon. Now i need to give my wrists a break! it even makes me want to boot up RE:Zer0 and finish it to get even more into the backstory and legend of RE.

Caution: SPOILER ALERT!

highlight to read!

P.S. anyone else think that when Luis dies it looks like a giant penis coming from Saddler?

Peace!

You should buy! They should be pretty cheap since a used gc itself is only 29.99 (in USD). If you play with the remote you don't need to move around either, lol.. You just hold it horizontally :vicx: .
