I just want to add some of my assumption to BAEK SEOK being nice and all that;I dont think that he will had a chance  when HK REMEMBER ALL........

Just i write into my previous contribution here about this drama; before HK have an accident she find out where SEOLI live; I don't think that she will choose him or she will developed any feeling for him; co's his sister is the  reason WHY THEIR MARRIAGE CANNOT BE MEND; that's why in my assumption;. even a tiny bit of feeling will HK reciprocate BAEK SEOK FEELING. Sure he did a lot during the time that HK HAD AMNESIA BUT THAT BEC.HK doesn't remember anything!

also about HK mother ;she know's who's the parent of this woman who gave a lot of heartache to her daughter;

One more thing about the text prev.;say's; that HK mom cries when she saw HK/YK2; WHAT EMOTION SHE FEEL---it is a mother instinct that she saw HK/YK2 alive or it is she's happy to see YK1, bec. she's longing to find YK1, I'm not mistaken she's still waiting for the call of the teacher.

I WANT TO SAY IS THAT , IN EP.9  JE, DID ALL HE CAN TO GET AWAY FROM HK,IN CONTAST TO HIS ACTION IN EP.16 HE'S  DOING ALL HE CAN TO GET NEAR TO HK,HE EVEN ASK HIS FATHER TO BRING BACK HK TO  REPLACE HIM ;INSTEAD;

from my observation while watching this drama from ep.1 thru  up to the day of the divorce is that HK LOVE  JE THE SAME JE LOVE HER only that she never say in words

some people are like that bec.' sometime words are just empty talk w/o action'

and also---  why does she insist that they can mend their broken relationship is bec. she doens't want  to get divorce --bec. she doesn't want to experience what her MOTHER go thru.

THIS IS JUST MY UNDERSTANDING IN WATCHING THE DRAMA EVEN I  MYSELF I DONT WANT TO HAVE DIVORCE ; IF WE CAN MEND OUR BROKEN RELATIONSHIP W/ MY HUSBAND

JUST MY THOUGHT

If the writer really directed her story for the wedding to happen; then that means we can watch or see another divorce or this will be the time that JE will turn into a man who is no longer KIND; WARM;GENTLE and CARING co's in the sypnosis this is how they describe him,he will become  VIOLENT;MERCILESS,SNEAKY, and HEARTLESS.

I hope that he will show this kind of attitude to Seoli; IF THIS WOMAN WILL INSIST OF MARRYING HIM.

WHAT A SIGH OF RELIEF TO THE PAST HK , BUT NOT TO THE AMNESIAC HK.

Thru my understanding,he was sad, hurt, bec. this must be the way HK is.......if i remember rightly,when her mother is talking by herself in a small room where she she is staying, she said HK has a lot of unhappy memories growing -up,bec.of her,if i'm not mistaken her mother is also a divorcee,and maybe involved w/2 man, during that time HKis having a problem w/JE, she's mumbling to herself that she's not a good mother and HK ASK 'HOW CAN SHE COPE-UP' separating w/her father,the mother answer just bec. I HAVE YOU.

So JE , i think he's sad,bec. the thing that baek family can do to HK/JK2 is that...he cannot do...HK..during her time in need they help her,they shower her w/ understanding and what the CHOI FAMILY did to her...they turn her into cold and cruel woman.Do you think JE doesn't know the life of HK before they marry, i think he know's,bec. they dated and have a lot of happy memories,but that memories that he share to HK,he himself destroyed it, trampled it,and  most of all  NOW Hk lost her memories bec. of him

Hi all... whew....managed to rewatch ep15, as i was so sleepy yesterday after my night shift that it didn't get through me most of it... i have to give in to my body's request of sleep lol! I will continue my two cents first of the four main characters...

BS - I totally agree to people to says that BS is really not an angel... Or should i say he was once an angel for HK but his selfish greed also is creeping in and changing him.  Yes HK may be thankful and  grateful to him because he saved her... He gave her  her an identity during the time that she don't know even a tiny bit about herself, when she woke up lost in a hidden past and a muddled and bleak future ahead.. SO, it will be just natural that HK will be truly grateful and thankful to BS.  Proposing nearing a hundred times just means one thing.... SHE IS NOT JUST INTO YOU... could be because one, she is still confused about herself and she doesn't feel whole without remembering her past thus does not want to commit herself (which is a good thing really..) or two, she has never developed any romantic feelings given that long period of time you've been together.  You don't need that very long period of time to develop love... because love starts with sudden fluttering of the heart... if it takes longer time..then it may not be love.. rather it is just being comfortable..a habit.. a sense of responsibility (this can also apply to SR-JE relationship by the way.)  I got annoyed with him when he forced JE to go to their house and suddenly introducing him to his father...without knowledge of JE nor permission of SR that this will occur.  He just wants him out of his way against HK point blank.

I think he may be the one who will be able to put the pieces of puzzle together but will keep the truth for himself for two things...he doesn't wan to give up on HK and also out of concern for his sister.  Love can blind you but I am hoping for his character not to go bad and be the one to stand fr the truth.  Nobody knows when HK regains her memory as to how she will accept the facts about JE

SR - a very twisted character wounded by her past combined with the greediness that has grown throughout the last four years.  I think she has thought of herself highly when JE chose her over HK four years ago and left with her to live abroad.  And knowing JE's family background, she knows that she will have a secure future with her.  Other than the 'great love' that she has been claiming for JE, for me she doesn't want to let go of of this financial security that she is getting from his family.  She was once someone who had nothing at all  and in a blink of an eye had lived a life that she may have not dreamed of. They only lived together for two years and even though she knows herself that JE never gave his heart to her, she just takes everything in.  She doesn't want to go back to where she was before.  She was afraid that if she accepts the reality and leave JE then she will again, a nobody.  Yes, she had acquired a stable career when she studied abroad but her insecurities are eating her out thus she is never content and will never be content.  The way she manipulate people is just amazing... She knows what she needs to do and begs whoever she needs to beg to get what she wanted.  The worst part is, asking for help of these people but also preparing something against them so that she has a trump card if time comes when things go wrong.  And that is frightening.  This person has a tunnel view of herself who will win against everyone...   And I will not be surprised if at some point she will hold hands with TS in plotting something evil. TS against JE and her against HK.  I feel sad for her in a way because she knows herself that she is not accepted by JE in his heart, nor JE's family.  She may be feeling that why nobody accepts her when she has given up everything for this person and have tried to succeed and hoping that she will surpass HK and be more acceptable for jE and his family and yet, she is not gaining this attention at all.  And now, she can feel that everything she has worked hard for for the last four years are slowly slipping out of her hands because of HK's appearance.  It will be a tough road if she will try to redeem herself.  But there are occasions that this type of personality becomes suicidal if they fail.... call it later on as emotional blackmail... I would like to see at some point how the writer will try to heal her.  She is in a deep pit and furthermore burying herself in a deeper one... 

JE - this person, in all that four years, have lived in the past with his guilt, sadness and love for HK.  Coming back to korea, i don't think he initially has intention of looking for HK as he is trying to bury the pain of the past.  He is using repression as a coping mechanism dealing about his past with HK.  But looking at how his relationship has been with SR for the last four years just means that he has never let go and never stopped loving HK but this is being expressed with anger.  This repressed feeling has prevented him from expressing concern about HK, or even visiting his daughter's remains. 

**REPRESSION** - This was the first defense mechanism that Freud discovered, and arguably the most important.  Repression is an unconscious mechanism employed by the ego to keep disturbing or threatening thoughts from becoming conscious.  Thoughts that are often repressed are those that would result in feelings of guilt from the superego.  For example, in the Oedipus complex, aggressive thoughts about the same sex parents are repressed.

This is not a very successful defense in the long term since it involves forcing disturbing wishes, ideas or memories into the unconscious, where, although hidden, they will create anxiety.

 

Meeting up this HK look-alike as soon as he arrived in Seoul has awaken up his subconscious and the repressed emotions are now creeping out of him.  And as we can see it is creating a turmoil inside and causing him a lot of stressed and anxiety that makes him unable to do a rational act and just jumps on based of his emotion.  This prolonged repression has caused this.  So JE's action now for me is understandable given that he has never forgotten and has always loved HK in his subconscious mind.  He is torn with the feeling of guilt of what he did from the past as well as the need for him to be back to this person's life.  But to his shock, this person is claiming that she is not who she is...and then come the knowledge of her having amnesia.  Even though JE doesn't have a firm basis that YK is HK,, his ex-wife, this 'invincible bond' (as someone mentioned) is there. That he knew she is HK, he just knew.  And can you feel how he still claims the she is his wife when he spoke to BS.  Because for him he has never let her go really... he just wanted a time out! Ofcourse, we all wanted to say to him 'i can bang your head for you to realise that you have made that decision to let her go', to shout at him to say that him being a coward and weak four years ago has no right to go back to HK.  But i will be waiting to how he redeems himself later.  I can forgive him later on because I knew that he didn't really love SR.  He just felt responsible... that guilty feeling that he ruined her life.  but because he cannot give his heart to her, he will just provide for her with his family's wealth. To give her a secure future with her career at the least.

HK - she is the one who will need a lot of healing amongst all of the characters.  Yes, she has her own faults with the failed marriage but she also has the most hurt and would probably received more pain first later on.  I love it when she tries her best to avoid JE and set a firm line between them.  She has this strong feeling about social morality, which i think who she was until her, being a tough lawyer changed that personality.  But she cannot deny as well how her heart feels that connection between her and JE.  That as much as she wanted to deny it and avoid it, she cannot.  She is getting confused why with just a single stare from this man can get direct trhough her heart as if she knows his emotions and he needed her.  And fate is really playing a role that they are tied with one string..  that everything seems to end up them being together whether they have a choice or not.  I mean, fate is doing its own course to get them together.  She is also confused herself as to why this man knows something about her, which she tries to deny and says its just coincidence. But her subconscious is trying to recall this familiar things for her.  I am just waiting for a big blow that will really awaken her subconscious. Looking that she didn't really have a brain damage, as her brain functioning is at par, as you can see her judgement, I think she is suffering to repressive psychogenic amnesia.  I know that she never acquired a brain damage due to the accident, I have been nursing these brain injury patients for sometime now so I would professionally know.

Freudian psychology suggests that psychogenic amnesia is an act of self-preservation, where the alternative might be overwhelming anxiety or even suicide. Unpleasant, unwanted or psychologically dangerous memories are repressed or blocked from entering the consciousness as a kind of subconscious self-censorship, but they remain in the unconscious. Neurologically, normal autobiographical memory processing is blocked by an imbalance of stress hormones such as glucocorticoids and mineralocorticoids in the brain, particularly in the regions of the limbic system involved in memory processing.

Such repressed memories may be recovered spontaneously, years or decades after the event, triggered by a particular smell, taste or other identifier. Because it is due to psychological rather than physiological causes, psychogenic amnesia can also sometimes be helped by therapy. Repressed memories may be accessed by psychotherapy, hypnotism or other techniques, although it is often difficult to distinguish a true repressed memory from a false one without corroborating evidence.

 

And BS didn't really help HK to look for ways to regain her memory.  There are a lot of therapies that can be done but he didn't.  In a conversation that BS had with SR, he said that HK/YK was a whistle blower and her fiancee has committed suicide.  And until she dies, he doesn't want her to remember.  Sounds sweet... not really for me.  Because for me it feels like he is just making a new person according to how he want her to be.

 

So anyways, things will surely get more intense later on... so for now gotta watch the subbed episode 16... laters...  Sorry for the severely long post...

Repressed memories may be accessed by psychotherapy, hypnotism or other techniques, although it is often difficult to distinguish a true repressed memory from a false one without corroborating evidence.

 

And BS didn't really help HK to look for ways to regain her memory.  There are a lot of therapies that can be done but he didn't.  In a conversation that BS had with SR, he said that HK/YK was a whistle blower and her fiancee has committed suicide.  And until she dies, he doesn't want her to remember.  Sounds sweet... not really for me.  Because for me it feels like he is just making a new person according to how he want her to be.

 

So anyways, things will surely get more intense later on... so for now gotta watch the subbed episode 16... laters...  Sorry for the severely long post...
