I still have to see episode 14, but after episode 13, it seems that Yi Hon has more special feelings for the "sunshine in the summer morning" :D Even though I can't imagine how everything will end in the last 3 episodes, I'm already really confused about Yi Hon's feelings for Eugene han and vice versa. These two don't hate each other so much for Hye Jun, but I don't think it's solely because of Eugene's attempt to overthrow the Korean economy too. I can't wait to see whose side Ho Jae will choose in the end and whether he will pay for Professor Chae's death. I hope a spark of love shines through in the final episode in favor of Yi Hon. Eugene, don't hate me :D everyone already loves you.

  2. Expecting Wednesday has never been more difficult so far, so I took a few days off and watched the first 12 episodes of the drama again. After episode 11 and 12, I am completely in love with Eugene's attitude towards Hye Joon, but at the same time I continue to hope that Yi Hon will show more than a collegiate interest in her. (Because she definitely has an interest in him as a man).
It was obviously quite painful for Yi Hon to accept the betrayal of a loved one, but the news came from Hye Joon and I'm glad she trusted her.

    Here are some stills.

     Hiii @lexicon

thank you for sharing bts, it looks like they really enjoy the shooting process I totally agree with you that heo jae is the real villain because I am not willing eugene to be called a devious villain And I feel like I'm getting impatient waiting for Wednesday night

@Florens_stories I am the one who said Eugene is the stylish evil man in the drama and i still call him "evil" in a good sense. He is villian in this story, but he is just doing his job. He is really cunnig, but I felt there is more for us to see. If he looks fearless or insensitive sometimes, it's because he felt hurt in the past, i am sure. The scene in which he tried to strangle HJ and then remembered his mother subjected to such violence .. reminded me a lot about Yohan, KoSu's character in the movie "white night".

I understood the frustration and disappointment of Yi Hun when he realised who is the assembleman. I am glad that he said to him those words. That man should be ashamed of himself.

Same with me and i was proud of him choosing to say the words we all wanted to say at this moment.

after watching episodes 9 and 10 I was very curious about how Chae Yi Hoon felt towards Lee He Joon, I thought Yi Hoon was getting distracted when he found out that Eugene Han was interested in He Joon ... this drama would be even more exciting if there was a little romance between the three of them.

After last 4 episodes I think there is still a chance for a drop of romance ill the end. I really love the idea of Yi Hon and Hye Joon being together at the end, but still Eugene is so sweet... I am really not sure what to expect forward...

I have always been a fan of Shim Eun Kyung and I find her acting and her character fantastic. She seems to be almost fearless.

Hi, dear! As the lonely selftalking person here, I was really happy to see more ppl are watching this, even though we all does not know enough for banking. I didn't know Shim Eun Kyung before but now I am impressed by her choice to do this character. Most actresses prefer feminine characters and characters who have action or sweet scenes. But it makes the average bureaucrat woman look impressive.

It's obvious who is my favorite character and i am pleased that he is the "moral compass". Hope he will keep it that way until the very end. Chae Yi Hun is divorsed and from some lines i understand he has very bad memories from his marriage, so may be he is more careful this time, but who knows...

And I am very excited about the triangle they both form with Eugene even if there is no romance line here. I remember the scene when Eugene looked secretly at HJ, while Yi Hun looked at Eugene... just love this scene!

  5. Money Game – K-Drama Episode 6 Recap & Review

    Yi-Hun’s Decision

What happened to the Director? After his nasty fall from the high balcony, we return to Money Game to find the authorities dealing with the aftermath of this incident. All of this leads up to another dramatic face-off toward the end as the future of Korea’s economy hangs in the balance following the long-awaited deal. For the most part, the episode does well to keep things moving forward but at times the drama suffers from the same issues mentioned before, with technical terms and ideas that’ll likely appeal more to people clued up on economics and banking.

Episode 6 of Money Game begins with the Director taken to hospital with Hye-Joon riding in the ambulance too. Unfortunately, he’s not in a good state and the ambulance speeds up to get to the hospital. Unfortunately the Director passes away before they can get there. Wracked with guilt, Hye-Joon questions whether his planned meeting with her is the reason he was attacked.

    Spoiler

Meanwhile, as the company reels over what happened to the Director, Joon-Pyo learns more about Hye-Joon and Yi-Hun meeting around the BIS Ratio situation. As things look set to spiral, the various figureheads try to remain calm. After being berated in a meeting with Joon-Pyo, Yi-Hun heads back to the office and winds up seeing footage of Seo being manhandled by Heo outside.

While he watches this, Heo warns Eugene to stop antagonizing him as the board meet and discuss the future transaction for the bank. The stock price is discussed too, which causes n excited murmur to spread around the board as the group buy into what they’re being told. Yi-Hun meets with Heo after the meeting and outright asks him if he killed Director Seo. Given he’s already killed Byung-Hak, this really hits home for him. He denies it, of course, but afterwards he winds up in a meeting with Kyung-Min surrounding the stock holdings. Midway through, Kyung-Min asks about what he’s personally gaining from this partnership, prompting Heo to talk about the country itself and the issues it’s facing.

Yi-Hun is fired from his position and leaves the office while Hye-Joon doesn’t show up for her shift, still feeling guilty over what happened with Yi-Hun, until she shows up at the office with a petition regarding Yi-Hun’s disciplinary. Unfortunately no one appears to care or give her the time of day, and she leaves defeated. Only, on her way out Park arrives and helps her collect the dropped files.

Meanwhile, the sale of the bank to Bahama goes ahead while the decision around Yi-Hun is made – 6 months of disciplinary action but no jail time. Thankfully Mr Park and Hye-Joon worked together to put pressure on the board and prevent him being disciplined. As he leaves the room, he sees an entire mob of workers outside, dressed in masks, and cheering for him.

Following the sale, Heo meets with Joon-Pyo and mentions Eugene’s plan of bankrupting a ship-building company. Heo remains indifferent, telling him Bahama now holds all the power and unfortunately there’s nothing they can do to stop it. As the news is made public, the board gather together, including Yi-Hun who enters the room, and together they implore Heo to tell them the true nature of what Bahama plans to do where we leave the episode for now.

While Money Game isn’t necessarily a boring Korean drama by any stretch of the imagination, there are times where the story feels very lackadaisical. Large parts of this show tackle the banking and economic implications of the Bahama sale, with particular emphasis on the BIS Ratio. The sub-plot involving Soo-Ho doesn’t really seem to be building up to anything beyond showing how hard he works and what a mess he’s got his family into, while the two murders feel half-baked and lack the same intensity a show like The Game: Towards Zero has managed to conjure up in the same number of episodes.

Having said that, the acting here is really good, and the blend of Korean and English speaking add an extra layer to the negotiations and really give the illusion that these are two opposing world forces coming together. Quite what will happen next in this one remains to be seen but for now, Money Game bows out with plenty of unanswered questions hanging over this one.

@disembody I also think prof. Chae isn't all noble and right. May be if he was, his only son would be closer to him. But Heo Jae, he is stil a big question for me. What he thinks, what is he plannig... still can't preddict his next move. But you sure have a point it's a very strange ride, but i am excited for the following episodes too.

After watching episodes 3 and 4, I would say I'm even more excited. Finally, Eugene Han appeared,  I had expected him with great curiosity. He is indeed evil, but he is evil with a style, and I am eager to learn what comes after his return to Korea.

In the meantime, we finally had the opportunity to learn a little more about Hye Joon. I really liked that the screenwriter chose to tell her story through the eyes of her loved ones, who share the story with a stranger as Yi Hun. When he was transfered, the first question I asked myself was how would things unfold for him to find out that Hye Joon could be a good ally for him. Now when he knows her better and obviously will go to the prison to help her to keep her job, i am waiting to see what does Heo Jae plans.

What I like about this writer is the way she portayes her characters. I see them as real people with weaknesses and qualities. Hae Jae, who is the antagonist of this drama, is fascinating to watch.

That's what I liked about the first episodes. The characters are not just good or bad, the ambitions, the anger, every emotion they show is well founded. Most dramas feature characters who are unreasonably evil or unreasonably suffering, but this is not the case here. I can't wait to see what each character has to offer.

    Quote

I don`t know about his story. Yeah, I am curious how he was. His son loved him but there was a distance between them. Yi Hun put a "barrier" between a personal relationship between father and son. Yi Hun talked to him about work but did not want to be close. Not even to have dinner together. The father was sad but he accepted this situation, like he knew why his son was upset with him.

I suspect that professor Chae put all his efforts on the professional life and he neglacted his family. I also suspect that he and his mother suffered because of that.

Because of the professor, I watched the episodes again, and I think that as a theorist, maybe his son's problems are that Yi Hon didn't stay at university, choosing a scientific career, and instead working as a clerk. His father called him "salaryman". May be he can't accept his son choice? Still, the professor's reconciliation when his son refused to stay for dinner is a sign of guilt. The father is aware of what keeps his son away. I can't wait to learn the reason because we already know that the professor is caring about his son. And same is for Yi Hon.

    Stills from today.

  8. After watched first episode I was sure this drama won't dissappoint me. I like the way they introduced the charachters. The "Stuck"in the traffic Chae Yi hun, who looks like stuck in life too. The silent and "invisible" for those smart asses with great universities behind their back, Lee Hye-joon. And Most of it I enjoyed Heo Jae. At first I decided he was a straight man. Disappointed in the past, but ready to work hard and stand up to everyone to ensure a better economic development in the country. But step by step he showed many layers of his character. Absolutely inconsistent, impulsive and vulnerable to anger. If there is something that i did not understand, then it is his attitude to the situation with the bank. At first he seemed to support the position of hon and was ready to cooperate, but after the incident with the professor, he completely changed. What I really can't wait to find out is which one is the real one Heo Jae.

Another thing I really want to know is whether professor Chae was really a caring person to his son and to korean economic or his true face was different. According the information in the beginnig, he was supportive to politicams and chaebols in the past, so his final fith with Heo Jae surprised me.

Anyway, it is a drama I really enjoyed and can't wait to see what is coming.

Did you heard something, @poochai ?

I've searched too, but still nothing. Hope at least Netflix will release subtitles. It will be really sad if there is no English subs. Let's wait and see :)
