i am somewhat skeptical about eric's role in Iron Man. the usual stereotype on any Asian man in movies in American films really disturbs me. with eric's english not completely fluent, i really wonder what kind of role they are going to give him. hopefully, it won't be the ching-chang-chong type role.

Side note -- juss commenting on Shinhwa and their roles in the group... I like Dongwan's voice more than Hyesung's, but Hyesung's vocal ability is better. Hyesung has a great range. O__O Gives me chills up my spine. Dongwan's voice is more deep and powerful, it's sexxy. (; JunJin's singing is definately getting better, his vibrato is so cute! LOL. Minbong, he definately improved throughout the years. I would have to say though that Jinnie's singing would be better than Minbong's now, but perhaps it's cuz Jinnie focuses more on his singing than Minbong does? Whatever, Minbong has the SEXXY DANCE MOVESSSS RAWWRR. >:] Eric's english rap lyrics are HILARIOUS. When I hear it, I just can't help but think "what a fob." LOL. But it's sooo cuute <3 His voice is wowww. *___* Andy rapping is adorable. Haha, after seeing him on xman and seeing his totally cute side, it's hard to think of him as a rapper, don't you think? ^^; But yeah... I LOVED Andy's part in "How Do I Say?" Being honest about Eric's acting...I'm not really surprise at the present rating...and here are my reasons:
Breathless
Sorry Eric, I didn't watch >.<
Phoenix
His line delivery was a little awkward in phoenix
Banjuns
He didn't really speak much here either since he usually played the same role and spoke romantic sauve lines as he did in Phoenix or the tough gangster of few words
Bittersweet Life
Well, no sweat in this one...all Eric did was shoot some people and 'speak' with his eyes as the director put it
Super Rookie
Breakthrough here! Finally a different role. But I still felt the awkwardness when Eric belted out his lines. It's his speaking voice...almost like an unintentional accent that stuck out like a sore thumb amongst ther rest of the cast. Overall, Eric did pull it off and things were more smooth towards the finale ^^
Bystanders
You can see Eric improving here. His acting was natural as was his speaking. He was funny when he needed to be, serious and disturbed when the scene called for it. Unfortunately, he had a very minor role despite the all the publicity and his face was like 'HUGE' on the cover. Heck...the killer's dead kid had more screen time than ERic. So he also wasn't able to demonstrate his abilities.
Invincible Parachute Agent
Finally, Eric's time to shine. His winks, his laughs, his expressions, his sadness, his timing, his line delivery were all spot on. Eric may be what you a 'decent' if not 'good' actor. But UNFORTUNATELY IPA also had one of SBS lowest viewer ratings in history due to simaltaneous releases of MBC's What's up fox? and KBS's Hwang Jini
So this drama got much less exposure then it deserved. And since it wasn't a drama rating much sucess....the staff voting in this article probably unconsciously ignored it, and didn't take into account just how much Eric has improved. So pre-IPA, the ratings are reasonable if you look at it from this standpoint.
What is unfair is for them to say that Eric is solely relying on his good looks. What entertainer doesn't? Why is it always the goodlooking people who get bashed on? Why not the not so goodlooking people? Would MC Yoo or KHD or PMS be half as funny doing what they do if they didn't look the way they do?

riz, about being eric's maid, that's what my friend said too!! we were in the subway going back home.. i think we were talking about shinhwa before, but we stopped talking because it was getting noisy [so we couldn't hear ourselves anyway] and suddenly she said, "heck, i wouldn't mind being eric's maid.." and my eyes just went O_O cos she first said she wasn't that much of an eric's fan.. and then she improved and said eric's cute.. and now she wanted to be eric's maid??? i didn't even think about that one!! she's stealing my eric!! actually i don't mind, cos i've been fangirling with her all this while.. there's lots of eric hotness, enough to go around =P
about their parts in singing/rapping, i think it has been that way since 1st album isn't it? it's not about being fair or not, sometimes they have more parts in certain songs, sometimes they barely have any parts.. of course hyesung's got the most singing, since his title is the lead vocal.. for me, hyesung and dongwan are more of the singing people, minwoo and junjin are in the middle and eric and andy rap.. minwoo nowadays has more singing than rapping though, although if i remember this correctly, at the beginning of their career, minwoo's got some rap parts [eusha eusha and hae gyul sah] while junjin's starting to get a bigger role in the singing part..
i think it's pretty fair, because what they're doing is showing us what they are best at.. can you imagine if you force everyone to have equal parts? a song is only as good as the voices singing it, and if the voices don't match the parts of songs they're singing, it's just gonna be total crap..
about eric's rap lyrics, i don't think it's that bad.. have you heard the western rap lyrics? i think they barely make any sense either.. lemme give you an example..

for me whether lipsyncing is okay or not depends on the choreography.. i have nothing against lipsyncing when it comes to shinhwa since it is a dance group in the first place.. but i have a problem if they lipsync 'Once in a Lifetime' (which they never did)..
i'm not saying that no asian can ever be good enough for american standard.. a lot of asians are, such as brian 'ftts', tim, and many more.. i used to think his english was pretty decent too.. but then a lot of my friends *who are natives* say it's not that good for someone who has lived in america for 8 years..

i think peepl chose Bi over ERic cuz the are all following the 'bandwagon' and supporting him just cuz he is representing korea on a international level .
i mean ok.. Bi can maybe act, but ill bet both my buttcheeks that all the votes were based on full house, which didnt even require a good male actor! all bi had to do was act mad and cute... i think certain roles in banjun dramas required more skills..
ERIC on the other hand, can easily substitue for many of the lead actors in dramas.. i mean really. he got the charisma, the looks, voice, and flexible persona to fit a LOT of roles.

i read in other threads that the bonsang recepients are the ones who attended the show or something.. since they didn't attend the show, i guess they didn't give it to shinhwa?
a lot of people are saying that the award shows have lost their meanings this year, so i don't really mind shinhwa not winning the awards.. i think the fact that they won 2004 daesangs mean much more than if they're winning everything this year, just because of the integrity of the awards given back then..

That's what I'm thinking too since usually the 10 Bonsang is the 10 bestseller artists of the year and since Shinhwa is one of the most bestseller of 2006, they should at least have had the Bonsang !!!

There's still the Golden Disk Award on December 14th, if they do the same mistake as what Seoul Music Award (forgetting Shinhwa as Bonsang) did, it will just totally confirm what I already think of those ceremonies

I think all they're saying that with MOST of the big artists missing from the award shows, and when you don't attend you're automatically by default not qualified for an award (except for golden disk to this point...will wait and see)...the whole thing's just a tad boring. If you are talking about dbsk...you gotta admit they're pretty much against themselves with most of the artists who are attending being new artists or have just entered the business 2-3 years, and those new solos who have just broken from their respective groups.
Like last year, it was pretty bad too. The competition just isn't what it used to be...when first+second album sales aren't that great to begin with.
I for one agree that dbsk is one of the better candidates for their awards...but some of the ones given are so random for me it actually raises my eyebrows (I won't mention who they are ^^; )
For an older fan, it is a lil bit hard to grasp the concept that there's not at least one ShinHwa member participating after all these years
Though I'm not a fan of the award system itself...I've used to always love mkmf award night because they have special collabs between some of the better artists. People collaborating with people they usually wouldn't have had the chance to and singing songs that are untypical for them.me too.. i mean even though the award shows are so .. w/e
