  2. Back to TT and SN…lol…in gooddrama.net… the eng sub for what TT said to his men after SN and her retinue left them was:  "It's too early to tell.  And I'm not one to be taken in." Why does that statement make me squeal???  He's too confident - he's already taken in by his student!  Check out the scenes of him and SN in episode 41  :))  I know that that has no romantic connotation in the drama itself, BUT check out their actions.  So much chemistry!   :>

  3. To WY-SN & TH-SN shippers:  pleeeeease don't get mad at me for saying this, but i just observed something, from my POV…in episode 40 sub, the scene of SN and TT…does it seem to anybody that in their conversation, the way TT was talking to her with a slight smile was kinda like flirting???  I swear, if I don't know the story of Empress Ki and I just randomly watch their scenes together, I'd think they're the OTP… :x :\">

  4. if it wasn't mentioned already (i'm sorry if it was; i couldn't keep up with this thread; it's so fast, but thank you all for your comments and posts :)  ) i've never seen TT so conflicted before in this episode more than the previous episodes with him in it.  He is so torn between his loyalty to his uncle and to Lady Ki.  TT must see that the one who betrayed the other first wasn't Lady Ki (whom he claimed earlier would be the one to betray their clan), it was his uncle and his greed for power.  TT probably can already see his uncle changing to El Temur before him, but denies it b/c he looks up to him and he's family.  I read TT's character description before and it mentions that he betrays his uncle after falling for Lady Ki's tricks.  I wonder what that will be…but it seems to me that TT is leaning his loyalty towards Lady Ki before he gets "tricked" by her.  Also, TT doesn't seem pleased at all that his cousin (BA's niece) is going to be entering the palace.  On a side note, TT's family is so good-looking! BA's niece is sooooo pretty, but according to the preview, evil and smart… **shudder**…i'm anxious to know how Lady Ki is going to deal with her and I look forward to her working with WY.  ;)  i actually like SN with both guys, TH and WY…i'm on both ships, but i highly favour TT with her, though i know it will never happen  :((

  5. After watching the finale with eng subs (I know, i said i wouldn't, but I couldn't resist), I felt sorry for MY.  After deciding to give up her revenge, she really didn't know what else to live for.  It seemed like her sole purpose for living after her family died was just for revenge, nothing else, that when she finally gave that up, she didn't see a point to living anymore, even though Choong begged her to leave with him and to keep living.  I know she loves Choong very much that she told Nam Seng to keep his promise to her that he won't kill him if she kept her end of the deal with NS, but I just wish she found strength in her love for Choong - to live for & to be with him.
Why was it so hard for her to just live and be with Choong?  Is it because he's the son of her enemy? Does she think she'll be betraying her family for being with him? Or is it because she misses her family so much that she wants to be with them in death?  Or is it because she's just tired of everything she has gone through, seeing her family die, seeing her supporters die in their efforts to protect her, seeing her failures in killing her enemy, that she just wants it all to stop?Would living be equal to her dying inside - being constantly reminded of what happened to her family (seeing how she gets nightmares of them)?
It's just so tragic...she gives me the impression that she thinks she won't be truly happy while alive even when she's with Choong when we all know that's not true.  Did she have doubts about that? Her actions in the finale made me think that..Ugh! So many unanswered questions...but oh well, the drama has ended, but in our minds, the love of Choong and the Princess will always last...

Lol, i don't watch it to expect a happy ending. It's fine to hope and wish and no one can blame us if that's what we want coz hey, no one knows here what the ending would be. But if you read thoroughly, some of us not only are fine with the deaths they also don't expect the writer to change history by killing NS and making Choong and So Hee as part of Goguryeo.

Most of us just expect a better and stronger ending. Not a changing ending from sad to happy. I AM happy that Choong and MY die together. That's much better than leaving Choong dies alone and MY lives lonely and miserable. Lovebirds must stay together. Through the good and the bad. Live or die.  Yup, yup, i agree...even if they both don't live in the end, dying together is better than just one living.

It's the whole lameness, lazy and sloppy work that we criticize here. @tiacosas elaborates very well on those, the clean sword after stabbing, wrong angle of sword which stabbed MY at the first time, no grieving at all to the last princess of Goguryeo and beloved/stongest warrior/protector son of Daemangniji - man, even Mo Seol's death is more engaging and mourned by her fellow agents but Choong and MY, nah, no one - Those are some which upset us.  Yeah, I agree also.  Another thing that upset me after watching the finale with eng subs (sorry, i couldn't resist and wait for the recap as i said i would -_-), was Daemangniji's decision to just send Nam Seng to that fortress after Nam Seng learned that the king betrayed him, rather than executing him for his obvious acts of treason.  That i don't get.  I know that according to history, Nam Seng doesn't get killed until later at the battlefields of Tang (i think), but that scene still doesn't make sense!  Also, did Tae Pyung side with Nam Seng?  I don't get that either.  Wasn't he like Bear Teacher, loyal and caring to Choong? Or did i miss something?

I watched the subbed ep and though it remains beautiful here and there, i get another upset stuff. The last sentence of MY and her tone/facial expression to Choong, "Your wish for us to stay together for the rest our live finally comes true". She drops a tear but no smile, for me it makes Choong a selfish man who cares only being together with her and makes what he said for wishing she to live is just sweet talking her but he doesn't really mean it.  Yeah, i'm also upset with the execution of that scene.  One thing I wished the writer had done with MY's character in the finale was really convey the depth of her love for Choong.  Don't get me wrong, I know she loves him so much, but when he asked her, "Can't you leave with me now? How come you never think about me?.." I wished she said something to him to make him not think that & to explain her reasons for wanting to commit suicide and how it doesn't lessen her love for him.  It's just frustrating to get the feeling that Choong's love for MY is a lot stronger than MY's love for him when we can see from the start of this series that that wasn't (or i like to say, "isn't") true.  Anyone correct me if i'm wrong.

I adore the drama and its whole 20 eps but hate the last 3 mins of it and the way it was executed. Not gonna sorry for saying it. Tho i can't really blame the team and casts too. They work so hard despite the rating disaster and still give us their best, and i heard they worked in two teams filming simultaneously due to bad weather hence the choppy scenes and editing. This live shot system didn't give them chance to do much, so yeah this is what we got.

I thankful to the production, don't get me wrong. But i wish, how i wish . . . .Me too!

  7. We're on the same boat, asyree, I also can't get over the fact that no one can seem to get rid of NS, when it can be done so easily.  Everybody could have done it, including Tae Pyung.  Mo Seol could have done it too.  Esp the Princess and Choong - NS sword fighting skills are nothing compared to theirs.  But why do I get this feeling that there's some unwritten rule (made by the writer, no doubt) that NS can't get killed throughout the latter half of this drama.  C'mon, writers, it's fictional anyway...why??!!
About the staring of everybody at the sight of our dead OTP, I agree.  True, one's initial reaction is shock, but still, some mourning or wailing of our dead OTP would've made their deaths for us less painful.  So that it'll convey to us that they're showing their deepest regrets over their past decisions that led to their deaths.
Choong's father should have already realized that NS is a psychotic, sadistic brat that will kill his beloved son, Choong.  After realizing that, he should have sent Choong along with the Princess far away from the palace so that he can protect him too just the way he did with Choong's mom at the time while ensuring Choong's happiness. OR he could have exiled NS to Tang for killing his beloved (Choong's mother).  True, he may hv said those things about her to save face in front of everybody, but privately (or better, publicly), he still should have done something with NS even though he is his son.

The ending sucks. Bleh. Meh. Gggrrr. It's so disappointing and lazy. And no. I don't mean it's disappointing with the dead of both lovers coz i will be richard simmons off more if Choong dies and MY lives alone. I much prefer with princess dies coz she knows she can't live without him. She knew how it felt when she thought Choong died years ago and now she knows better. If he dies she dies too. That's lovely. Awesome even.

What i so dislike is how Choong and MY's deaths seem so meaningless to everyone in the palace. People just stare and do nothing. At least Instructor Jang shocks to see what happened, but the others? they just went hmmm and huh, oh they two die? well, ok.

And here i scream in frustration. Esp the last scene with the two lovers lay lifeless on the ground with nothing around them. Can't the PD show Yeon or Jang or Geumhwadan or Tae Pyung or all of them mourn over the lovers?

So after Choong proves Dad he's the loyal one and protect him the best he can, when he died Dad doesn't feel anything? HE loves Choong so much everything NS says just like empty air in his air, he even accepts that Choong loves her he ordered to stop the whipping. But how? why? why Dad doesn't need to be shown mourning for his beloved son? son that he clings to like he has no others?

And no Jang grieves over cousin? No Geumhwadan needs to be sad or pray for the princess they willing to give their lives? Why Tae Pyung stands on NS side and he doesn't feel anything when his-my-boss-is-my-hero dies in front him? Die like the hero in fairy tale by saving the princess of the country? Tae Pyung adores Choong so greatly!!

At least if the writer or PD make that the deaths of our OTP mean something then it will compensate our sadness. But nooooooooo!! they just die like some extras in the background only they do it in front of many people and being watched.

    Damn the ending!!!!

What does the writer want us to learn from this drama whether history or fiction?

There are no senses or meanings for the ending of this drama.
Nam Saeng who was crazy got away with everything that was wrong.YGSM who was so powerful turned into a rabbit.
Choong who lived his life for the Princess could not do anything for her except sacrificing his own life.
And the Princess, how disgraceful to have to die by a mad evil man's sword. What is the point?
She could not revenge for her family. She could not save her country nor her people.
She was the reason the only person who loved her the most had to die for her.
Finally, she died like that for no meaning.

Even in the worst case which she could not do anything positive, at least she could have lived to take care her citizen like becoming a teacher teaching literature ( she was smart for that ) or teaching sword fighting for her people to go to war with Tang, or living to make herself and Choong happy like common people with a tons of babies, or taking cooking classes, doing laundry  etc.
    Boy, am I mad  X(

And to let Choong and the Princess die at the hands of....UGH!!!!!! i can't even say his name... >sniff, sniff< ...i want to watch the ending of The Princess Man again....now that's a good ending for a fictional, tragic Romeo & Juliet story.  A majority of the episodes were tragic, but alas, they gave us an ending where our leads didn't die at the end.  And yeah, andy78, i thought the Princess was going to let it all go before it's too late, but it was too late... :((

No wonder y Nam Seng is going to marry the Princess
