if ES somehow gets her uniform secondhand from RH (who we all saw, when to get fitted for a new one), and is then outted in front of the whole school as NOT being nouveau riche, AND is bullied on top of that, i'm going to scream. >*<i'm praying Writer Kim doesn't go that route, and leaves ES some dignity at JG High. I want her to be the one to openly admit she isn't a rich kid, before anyone else (ahem ahem RH) can tattle on her.

After reading a compilation of articles from different sources (listed below), here are the tidbits I gleaned (w/o repeating previous posts):
- the kiss occurs because KT follows ES up to the roof, where she went to make a phone call. when she gets a call, in order to stop her from answering it, he holds her and kisses her.
- "after looking on a sad ES, he steals a kiss from the 'poor' heir ES"... awww, guess sadness has to do with bullying, if the marks on her uniform are any indication. Sigh..
- they refer to it as the '입막금 키스' which literally means "shutting the mouth kiss".
- Park ShinHye said "We successfully finished filming an important scene that could be a turnabout point between ES and KT. Please watch how ES overcomes each problem she faces at Jaegook High"..
- "This day's filming was KT, who until now has watched ES silently from behind, attempting to kiss ES and aggressively show his feelings"

I might be overthinking it, (can't help it, i'm wiggin' out after staring at those stills for like a half hour straight), but the part in the video preview where ES bows and uses an honorific greeting to KT ("ahnyoung hae sayo") is probably after the kiss! I can totally picture ES, who has like zero dating experience, being so flustered post-liplock, that she completely dorks out on him. hence KT's response, "are you rebelling now?" WHY did they release these stills for Thursday's episode?!! aiigo. i'm already antsy enough as it is. SBS.. you evil geniuses. ^^

translation:
Misunderstanding ES being with YD, T angrily asks her why they were together; and ES gets curious about the their relationship. After her mom suddenly says to take a family portrait, RH goes to see YD. Meanwhile, Won acts coldly towards T who greets him warmly. -
episode 6 video preview translation:

Originally, I thought maybe the reason YD was so angry at KT was because he felt betrayed that his closest friend kept such a huge secret from him.. that it was more about his being hurt that KT wasn't honest with him. But now? i don't know. YD seems like such a buttface in the preview, despite his cheeky moments with ES. and Poor ES. she has so many things going against her in the new school. I foresee a lot of heartache and stress in her future, not just from RH (who is certifiably downright mean and snotty), but also from BN (annoyingly giving her crap about her friendship with CY) and other students at school who will a) look down on her for not being of the "right" social order; and are jealous that two of the uppercrust guys in school are in lurrrve with her. -
ahhh, double post again! ok, i'm just going to go back to refreshing this page for goodies, so there aren't double picture posts all over the place.
haven't seen the episode yet, but thanks to the many Liveblogging caps and such, I feel good about it. from the articles I've read, the loveline or triangle between the leads really starts to heat up in episode 5. so something to look forward to for next week ...

according to this article, Won's coldness to Tan now was because of some past incident. Won tells Tan "You failed to grab the chance to be my family. You should've accepted it when I was nice. So just stay. Everyone else is on your side, so there's no point in my being nice to you too." -

episode 4 text preview (apologies if posted previously; credits to sbs.co.kr): 무심히 시선을 들던 탄은 낯익은 뒷모습에 은상임을 깨닫고 심장이 멎는 듯하다. 라헬이 안겨 있다는 생각도 잊은 채 은상을 불러 버럭 화를 내는데 은상은 뒤도 안 돌아보고 출국 게이트로 향한다. 한편 혼자 남은 탄은 허전한 듯 쓸쓸한 모습인데...
translation:Holding a disinterested gaze, Tan catches a glimpse of a familiar back - when he realizes its ES his heart stops. Forgetting that he was embraced by RH, he calls ES angrily; but ES doesn't turn around and just heads to the departure gate. Left alone, Tan feels empty and lonely..

i find the character of Tan soo fascinating, especially when we see glimpses of the Tan that used to be.. aka Tan while he lived in Korea, in the Tan in America. Every once in a while, its like dark Tan peeks out - (like when he like brushed ES's hand off his arm when they were running away from the two big henchman; or the way he coldly speaks to CY when he comes to get ES in the latest episode) which makes him even more intriguing as a character. RH said in this episode when Tan asked about YD, "he is doing well.. taking 100% of the role that you guys did together" - and as we all know, YD, for all his family drama, is pretty much a stuckup meanie to almost everybody. Which means Tan was a big stuckup meanie too. .. Knowing that, and yet seeing how seemingly carefree and nice he is ES - you have to wonder if there is something that prompted such an abrupt 180 from the Tan he used to be. (and makes me love his soft side with ES even more). - Props to Lee Min Ho for his acting here. Even the gaze in his eyes change when he switches between dark Tan and America Tan.
I'm also thinking here has to be a reason Won became the way he is with Tan. If he treated Tan like that when they were younger, there is no way Tan would currently think of his older brother in such a fond, bittersweet way. There is some impetus for how W acts with T - and i'm excited to see where this relationship leads. :x -

It's pretty interesting, but in the video preview when Won tells Tan he wouldn't be able to take over their father's company because he is the child of a concubine, I started reading up. He called him a 서자 (SuhJa) which is the son of a noble and a non-slave status concubine. (there is one 'level' down from 서자, so i'm grateful Won didn't take it down a notch in meanness. ) Historically, although such offspring were considered "nobles" by blood and in the family registry, among the immediate family and in greater society, they were treated differently (as less) than children of the official spouse. Oftentimes, they were prevented from reaching positions of distinction in government and public life, just because of their birth status. [poor Tan]
I find it interesting that Won, himself, considers his paternal lineage as "noble" and that in his mind, his own status is higher than Tan's (despite Tan being listed as his father's actual wife's son on the family register]. Which makes sense, given this drama's full title.. I kept wondering why Writer-nim was referring to a crown. The lightbulb turned on for me! -

ES's Mom: this is where we are going to be living right now on.
ES: Mom, are you in your right mind?
JMS [to ES]: do you live in this house? ... did Tan's family move?

Came home to a most wonderful surprise: my book came today!!! The cover art is gorgeous. Haven't started reading it yet, but I will admit to some skimming. (I couldn't resist). Seems to be primarily through CY's POV. 6 chapters. Seems to be a fairly easy read.
I'm already looking forward to vol 2 and I haven't even read this book, greedy Faith ling that I am. Hahaha.

@LuvMinHo, @Anomalous: it is good to be back. ^^* yeah, pretty much gave up on back-tracking. its just impossible with how active y'all are. *thumbs up. @_Misty_: I literally just placed my pre-order an hour ago. I didn't check to see if there was a digital edition available (no ebook reader for me). hmmm, it would make sense for them to offer that, though. [edit: i just checked, i only saw it in hard copy. sorrry!] @Yuuni: i should've clarified that it was pre-order. Its supposed to get released 12/12, as we all know. and it appears to be 300 pages long. my copy probably won't get here till like a week after.. boo. @myphim: i purchased my copy here. Unfortunately they only ship to the US and Canada so I don't know if that will be any help to international Faithlings.
I will see if i can find a site that has it that will ship internationally. -
Ahhhh, i give up. i tried, i really did. but i just can't backtrack through all the posts i missed. I try, and then like 400 more pop up by the next day. (I love you guys btw, makes me happy to see this thread still going even though its been over for like 4(?) weeks. i keep looking at all the pretty caps you all post, with all the pretty people and go: whoooo, they are so pretty. by they, of course i mean my Dimples).
@myphim: i totally bought my copy of the book already. am prepared to do what translations i can, and i am pretty sure there will be more floating around out there in Faithling-land - so i think we're covered. ^^* when it said Shin-ei Vol 1 - not gonna lie, my heart gave a little jump. so happy.

@sia3: just took a quick browse at Writer Song's website, and the book will be out mid-December. It's the first volume, which pretty much says we have more Faith to look forward to in the near future. Yay!! If I can find more info will post.
