I am sorry but pls don't get me wrong.. I am a fan of Yejin since decades ago.. I always support her in her career.. She is a precious gem for South Korea Movie Industry.. She is a versatile actress indeed! Even I've ever thought that her skill has already in the level of Director!
But I don't know when I heard this news I felt sad.. I got deja vu.. because there is an actress from Asia as well (She is my fav actress as well outside of South Korea) who has made debut in hollywood been years ago and She just made a few hollywood movies and couldn't get International recognition eventhough she got a female lead that time when she decided to back to focus on her career in her own country, she could reach on top position again!
That's why I felt sad when I heard the news regarding Yejin will make debut in Hollywood.. but I knew every actress or actor will take the chance for a new challenge or a new level in their field and industry.. But still, I am wishing all the best for Yejin for her new step in Hollywood.. Son Ye Jin Fighting!!
I just thought if you are a boss in a small potential company, why should you deal as an employee in a big company?

And in my opinion, after TN promotions, and on sharp in presscon CLOY, I looked her more calm that's why I assumed her into HB already, and about HB, He has known as calm person but after he closed to YJ, he has changed.. they are into each other and made it balance.. they look comfort one each other and it can be happened in a couple lover or married couple

Past success and achievements are public information which can be easily found in Wikipedia or the artist thread if we are interested. Updates of new or current activities of the artist like filming, CF, events are not the same as the updates seek to provide information of the latest happenings. While there had been posts on HB filming of Barganing and Smart CFs, we also see many posts of Ye-jin for her 20th anniversary and her IG posts like the one where she posted the flowers she received, and people are fine.
I am not a SYJ fan or HB fan but instead a shipper fan who supports SYJ and HB to be a couple in real life as I thought they will make a great couple since watching CLOY. Prior to CLOY, I have not watched any HB works but had watched SYJ in The Classic and A Moment to Remember.
None of us can claim to know SYJ or HB personally. My impression of what they are like which are based on what I had read or watched in their interviews or variety shows or speeches are:
1) Son Ye Jin:I recalled an interview where Ye-Jin said that, to her parents, she is is an ordinary daughter who does all the housework at home and they seldom talk about her works and achievements as an actress at home which led me to think that she is a very grounded and humble person who does not let all her success in Chungmuro go to her head. From her IG, she comes across to me as a girl who has a love for flowers, cooking, interior house design and artworks and enjoys hanging out with friends, travelling, reading, the sea and beach and lately golfing as well. It shows that she has a normal life outside her profession as an actress and has wide ranging capabilities and interest. It struck me that she is quite adept in homemaking. I really love her garden and the decor of her house both of which gives off a peaceful and calming vibe to me.
From her relationships with her costars, directors and other colleagues, management team and inner circle of staff and her Cinderella group of friends, she comes across as a person with high EQ and great loyalty who builds and treasures relationships with people and who has the utmost respect for her seniors. She is also a private person who has no previous dating relationships known to the public in her 20 years since her debut.
2) Hyun Bin:He comes from a traditional family with traditional values and is close to his family. He chose to join the Marines which is the most difficult military service in South Korea. He come across as a confident and highly intelligent person from his well thought through replies in his interviews. However, he also shows a fun and witty side in his interviews together with SJY. He is also an astute businessman with his investments in his agency which paid off handsomely when acquired by Kakao as well as his investments in properties. Despite his success, he comes across as a humble and grounded person who is also reserved and private and who guards and protects his personal life from the public even though he has made public his previous dating relationships before.
Just being handsome and successful and rich does not make a man a great life partner and similarly just being beautiful and sexy and rich and successful does not make a woman a great life partner. Those attributes may be great to start off the admiration and attraction for one another but it takes a lot more than that to nurture and sustain a marriage for a lifetime. We just need to look at the famous SS couple who divorced in less than 2 years. Some of the attributes required are shared values and outlook in life, personality compatibility, lifestyle compatibility, ability to compromise and accept differences, genuine caring and support for one another through good times and bad times etc.
This is not about comparing whether HB or SYJ is more famous or who is wealthier and you are missing the point to ask people who highlight they are uncomfortable that this thread is turning into a SYJ’s thread to go and post more about HB instead.
SYJ herself is such a humble and well grounded person who does not let her Chungmuro success goes to her head so you are not doing SYJ any favour if you keep on harping on her Chungmuro success and wealth particularly in a shipping thread. You are in fact doing a great disservice to her.I really love the post by @jaylaxc which I pasted in the spoiler below. It speaks well of SYJ of how she had handled the BAA so gracefully and has a warm smile throughout which would have comforted HB a little. It is heartwarming and it is such a credit to SYJ to be spoken of as such by a self confessed HB fan.

Personally, I think Hyunbin was glad SYJ was there with him. Not because I'm shipping for them.
Though they both didn't win for best actor/ actress category, their presence comforted each other because of their special bond as co workers. Her smile was really warm the whole evening, I really think her smile really did comforted him a little. She handled it really gracefully.
Tbh I felt bad for him, because he was nominated 2 years in a row but failed to win best actor. Despite being a HB fan for years, I have to say the other nominations were equally good, equally strong.
I saw a comment somewhere stating he's like the Leonardo Dicaprio of Korea. Too good looking for people to take him seriously.

I agree with you!! Basicly, I am a fan of SYJ since decades ago.. I am here because I love this couple.. SYJ looks comfort and being more calm around HB.. The CLOY presscon made me realize that she is into HB already..
I know SYJ and HB are veteran actors and already steady in their career that's why of course their financial will be followed them as since they are the A-list actors.. buuuutt I think it's not good and not polite to discuss how rich they are until wrote the details how much assets they have..
We all here to ship our OTP and share the evidences to discuss that this ship is sailing and might be already in a serious stage which is on the way to tie the knot or maybe already tied the knot..
Since this is a shippers forum not forbes magazine! Please chingudeul just stick on the purpose that we are here to support their relationship not to compare wealthiness or count on their assets..

This is the first Kdrama i have watched; while i initially got curious because of the unique NK storyline, and upon watching i found alot of positives in the drama (those OSTs are amazing!), what kept me interested the most is the strong chemistry and immersive acting of the BinJin couple. This made me want to know more about them after the drama ended, which led me to the Soompi CLOY thread, and eventually this BinJin shipping thread. Decided to delurk since i found recent events on BinJin and the discussions here quite interesting, and thought to offer a male perspective (yes, i am a guy, this is my secret life and not even my wife knows that i am a closet BinJin shipper lol).
Firstly, on CLOY not winning what we think they deserve in BAA, i think politics is likely an important factor, given recent escalation in tensions around the same time the BAA nominees were announced and judges were making their decision. Even within SK there was negative press related to this when the drama was announced and a threat of lawsuit when it was airing. This is not to take away from the winners, even if i have not watched those dramas, i am sure they also delivered great performances since they were also nominated, but if you were the BAA judges, would you want to potentially be the cause a new round of political tensions by giving CLOY high profile awards that will surely have global media attention given the drama’s popularity? In a tight race with tough and almost equally deserving competition, a concern like this could be the deciding factor to tip the vote in favor of the other contenders. In hindsight, it makes me wonder if the writer had not openly called the countries NK and SK, and instead used fictional country names maybe this could have been avoided (in a western political drama i watched before, they had one episode where the plot was about the conflict between fictional countries they called East and West Honshu, but if you read between the lines, you can tell it is about NK/SK). Anyway, what is done is done, maybe CLOY had to be sacrificed for the greater good of peace and political stability, and nomination is the best it could have gotten under the circumstances. Regardless what happened at BAA, the validation from fans globally which none of the other nominees can match is enough proof that CLOY and its cast are winners. From a professional perspective, BinJin are clearly winners, their brilliant performance in CLOY has earned for them a global fanbase which will only help their future career prospects.
Back to BinJin, it was very clear to me with the grocery incident there is something going on between them. As a guy, i will not fly halfway across the world to meet just a mere acquaintance, and even a close friend there has to be a really valid reason, for example if that close friend has already migrated to that country. It makes no sense to me for Bin to go that far away, waste so much time and energy on flight and have to deal with jetlag, to meet someone who he can more easily meet up with in their own country. And they met there not even for sightseeing, but grocery shopping?! This tells me that clearly at the time, Bin has romantic intentions pursuing Jin, and she is open to his advances to agree to meet him. That it happened around the time and likely for the celebration of an important occassion (her birthday) with rumors of a lunch with Jin’s family gives added weight to it and tells me Jin has strong interest too; if you went to the trouble of going so far away to have alone time on your birthday to spend with family, why then would you entertain meeting someone who is just a normal friend, when you can do so after you return from your trip, in your own country? Their agencies also did not know how to deny at first and had to check back with BinJin on what to say when the clear as day grocery photos were released, after initially conifidently denying the rumored lunch with Jin’s family. Put the puzzle pieces together and you can tell this is more than likely a pre-planned secret romantic meetup between mutually interested parties to celebrate a special occassion.
Now the grocery incident happened a few years back, from then things could have progressed, or it could also have stalled. So you look at what were the developments since then, and while alot has happened and would be too much to talk about in just one post, I would like to fast forward to recent events because ultimately thats what we would want to know, is the ship still sailing at this moment?
- Metro interview - alot has been said of this, but the fact that Bin voluntarily brought up Jin in a question that was about this own physical appearance, and with that facial expression, tells me he clearly still has Jin in his thoughts at all times. I catch myself having that same reminiscing smile when i am reminded of special moments shared with my girlfriend (now my wife) when we were dating, so i can relate with what was going on there with Bin. Questions were obviously pre-screened, but we dont know if just by V employees or Bin himself, but either way it gives him away. If it was screened by Bin himself, then he chose to include the question, and his pre-prepared answer needlessly included Jin; if it was just screened by V employee, i pity the poor V employee who could not have known that such a seemingly innocent question could trip up the boss into remembering an event 2 years ago and answer that way, revealing to all that Jin continue to be his top of mind.
- Pifan vs BAA comparison - this is specifically on how Bin acted towards Jin in these events. In Pifan, he didn’t know her personally yet, so his actions were just being polite, how a typical gentleman would act towards most women - while he went ahead towards the stage, but he looked back to check if she was ok, and let her give her speech first. In BAA, his actions towards Jin were extra attentive and protective, letting her walk ahead, but surveying the situation ahead and making sure to be nearby when he saw potential hazards like wires, him watching her steps, etc. This is the exact same thing i do for my girlfriend/wife, kids, parents, i.e. for those people i deeply care about, so seeing the contrast in his approach, but for the same person, is quite telling of the change in Bin’s mindset towards Jin now. And when a guy does this for a lady he likes, it is also a way of warding off competition and letting it be known that this is my girl so you other guys back off lol
- Joint acceptance of individual popularity awards - reading the english translation of their speeches, you can tell it was coordinated such that Bin and Jin each gave bits and pieces to complete an overall message. Bin brought up CLOY, while Jin is the one who called out co-actors/actress and director of the drama. Bin expressed thanks to fans for their efforts voting for them, and Jin made sure to highlight that includes both Korean and international fans. Bin offered the information they are aware of all the effort fans did on their computers and cellphones, and Jin shared they were also monitoring the developments everyday together with the fans. Bin made sure to also express his well wishes for Everyone dealing with Covid, and they both promised to repay fans with future roles and better acting. They covered all important messages without being repetitive through their combined couple speech. Then backstage even if they didnt need to, they still interviewed together, posed close together sharing just 1 trophy, and repeatedly mention “we” in their speech. Clearly they approached this as a couple award even if it is not, because they knew fans delivered it to them as a couple award, and to me it is telling particularly for Jin that she knows about it, and is ok with it, despite being known to be protective of her reputation and avoiding dating “scandals”.
- Color Coordinated Outfits - Jin wanted to wear gold, now Bin’s stylist has to find a color that goes well with that, and hence the navy blue tux, an interesting choice when other men were wearing black (i am sure most ladies here already know, but if you do a quick google search of the best companion colors for gold, you will find dark blue is one of the top choices). Why is this important? If i were not in good terms with someone, or i dont want to fuel further couple speculations to avoid dating “scandals”, i will surely not coordinate colors to make us look even better as a couple, knowing that we will be on stage to receive an award together.
As you can tell from above, Bin’s giveaways from recent events are much more direct (he has always been the more obvious one), while Jin’s are a bit more nuanced, more of indirect confirmation - she indirectly confirms she continues to be interested (at least) by not doing actions that confirm she is not interested. Jin herself said that she is aware and was monitoring social media posts on Tiktok voting, which means she is definitely also aware of all the BinJin shipping going on in social media. If its untrue they are in a relationship she would want to put a stop to that, so why continue to encourage that narrative of being a couple by doing couple speeches and posing as a couple for an individual award, and wearing coordinated outfits that make them even more shippable as a couple? Jin herself said that she would like to get married by 40yrs old which is just a couple years away, if she does not see a future with Bin, why continue to allow herself to be romantically linked to him, and thus discourage other potential suitors and lose time, when she could easily put a stop to it by personally issuing a denial they are dating, which she had no problem doing for other men linked to her in the past? And please, saying they laughed the rumors off, or that they were not holding hands under the table, or that they were only meeting with other friends in LA, these are just misdirection and far from being actual denials of dating. When grocery shopping happened it confirmed for me that there is at the very least mutual interest, it has been 3 years since and while Bin is still an open book, I daresay Jin can’t still be just at “interested” stage given her self declared timeline and they are likely much further along their relationship by now.
On BinJin being “cold” to each other in BAA, that never crossed my mind when i was watching. I saw what i expected to see, which is BinJin acting prim and proper in an event where they should act prim and proper. It would be unbecoming of them to cause a scene by openly flirting and blatantly displaying affection, in an event meant to celebrate the acting profession of all the attendees, amidst the somber backdrop of Covid and social distancing. They cannot just hijack BAA and turn it into their own engagement party, knowing what the event is about and knowing how much hype there is on them already that could overshadow everyone else if they are not careful. Their effort to deflect attention away from themselves show that they are sensible and socially aware human beings and is commendable, it is quite surprising to me that it got twisted by some into a negative narrative.
In fact, for me part of the fun while watching a show i could not understand a word of what they were saying, was catching those little moments when BinJin let their guard down a bit, because despite their best attempts, they also can’t help it and still give away bits of affection here and there. Bin is much better at it now than before, i guess he is learning after seeing all the videos online of how he gives it away all the time, but he still needs more practice! I mean you can literally see him consciously catching himself staring at Jin again, and instantly switch back to serious mode and look robotically straight ahead at the camera. At least now he is able to correct himself and not need Jin to nudge him back to his senses, so thats an improvement lol.
Whew, a long essay for my first post. In summary, with Bin you look at what he does, but with Jin you look at what she does not do. From what i saw and didn’t see on the recent events, ship is sailing steady! They will reveal what they want to reveal at the time that is right for them, which is how it should be because it is their personal lives and relationship that is at stake.

Its hard to know when capricorn like or love someone more while they're full of secret and will try to hide it as much as they can. But when they're sure, they will show it with a subtle way. and for @Binjin2Ri, our mind always mixed up and getting drunk when too much information, That two youtuber is not all the majority of people that we could take a conclution for korean who support BINJIN. I even thought they just take a safe state for saying it BINJIN is just "Friends" for avoiding something if they're speculate too much regarded BINJIN since they're Korean. So, Cheers up! I agree with you.. I am capricorn as well.. as Capricorn, when I had serious relationship (but unfortunately we didn't make it cos something), I introduced him to my close circle first which is my parents.. but for the other I have thought in my mind will introduce him and announce our relationship when I would like to invite them to my wedding..
Capricorn will keep private regarding the relationship.. They will announce it when the relationship is getting serious and ready tie the knot particularly when we are in the age of marriage stage like BinJin (I am in the same age like BinJin as well).. this is just my experience

I was surprised when i read your comment here because I thought this is mine but of course not, since I haven't given my comment here after I saw SYJ IG update this afternoon
I have similar thought with you regarding SYJ after I saw her pic today by her IG. This thought just came out from my mind and I even told to my bestie who fan of SYJ as well, that maybe SYJ is in first trimester and suffering from morning sickness'. I've never had pregnancy experienced but I learnt from my besties and my sister who had pregnant and they had suffered experience from morning sickness and made them being thinned in their first trimester (pls no offense chingudeul, this is just my assume).
I have very highly respect to SYJ and also fan of her. I adore her so much from the first time I saw her movie "A Moment to Remember" when I was in the last year of college in 2004, since then I am being her fan. She is a great actress, her acting skill is no joke!! She's the only one of my fave of korean actress.
I don't know BinJin being secretly married or way to go tie the knot (the two options are good for me), but I always wish the best for both of them and Happily ever after
Hopefully we will get a good news from them soon!

I don't know but I think it's not fair for the other nominees because KHA is in nominees since her drama is still on going.. If She will be in nominees for the best actress, she would be in the next baeksang which is next year.. Because for the other nominees as we know their drama has ended already (no offense.. It's just my opinion)

The nominees are good but the nominees for the best actress made me goosebumps when there are 2 seniors and also GHJ (SYJ bestie).. Just pray for the best that uri SYJ will be the winner this time as well.. She was in the same nominated with KHS in 2017 for the best actress as well and SYJ made it with The Last Princess! Hopefully this time will be SYJ as well!

I absolutely agree with you! YJ is clean by her track record in her career! She has no dating scandal! Too risky for her to ruin her clean track record in 20 yrs of her career just for dating scandal! That's why I believe even if HB and her in serious relationship by now (I believe they are dating though). She won't announce it but when they already a date set for wedding! Don't forget they are in mature age that simple dating is not the concern but marriage! I can speak like this since I am in the same age like them (I was born in 1982 as well), so i know what they feel!

I found it amazing that our Binjin couple could get me to sign in to Soompi after 10+ years. The last time I was active in Soompi was around 2008-2009 due to Family Honor, the most treasured K-drama in my heart. Also because that was too long ago, i didn't remember my password and thus had to create a new account for Binjin in 2020 haha. As I'm around Binjin's age, I've experienced all sorts of social media platforms, so what I'm proudly good at is reading someone's social media posting. That's why what initially got me hooked at Binjin couple was not HB's gestures in IVs and BTSs (simply because I hadn't really cared about him and never watched any of his movies/dramas until CLOY). It's YJ's still shots and Instagram that triggered my detective mode.
1) The final Switzerland stills, especially the ones where YJ hugged HB tight around his waist and they looks endearingly either at each other or to the camera together. Oh man, it's definitely not Yoon Se-ri and Ri Jeong-hyuk, it's YJ and HB themselves. And those pics were actually the reason I started watching CLOY because I smelled something fishy. All of my friends went crazy about the drama when it was airing in Asia, but I stayed nonchalant since the last time i followed the hypes, I couldn't bring myself to finish Descendants of the Sun or My Love from the Star. So I waited until the end of Feb when CLOY was finally streamed on Netflix EU and here I am, staying firm on the Binjin ship. Enough rambling. So what did I see in those stills? If i were HB's real life partner, i would have chopped him into pieces when seeing such intimate photos. How dare you let your co-star hug you that possessively in public? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'd never seen any as intimate still shots as these between lead actors in a K-drama (or I may have missed something during this 10+ years off from K-dramas). These shots were not even used in the end so why would someone release them when apparently, the photos would cause nothing but uncalled troubles to the actors in case they were already taken in real life. At my age, most of my friends have settled down with 1-3 children and had established career. They know what professionalism means. But NONE of them buy in the idea that there was NOTHING between these two. But I understand how destructive the dating rumors could be to Binjin's career and personal life, so I was not at all surprised when Mr. CEO denied all of them. Yeah, we will pretend to be shocked when the wedding bell rings.
2) JY's Instagram. It's so obvious. The lovey-dovey photos, the book, the Christmas post. Personally I don't like funny face apps and don't have any, but my husband likes them. So the only thing that can get me to try these apps is my love for him and I want to be a supportive wife. Well, in fact my love is not big enough to try using these apps with my husband, so you could imagine how much HB must have adored his "close friend" to let her take and post all of these photos on her social media. And also, as a professional actor who's been in the industry for 20 years, YJ didn't need to post so many private photos with ONE co-star just for the sake of media play. Who are you gonna fool girl? Now the Christmas post. Well she could have picked any up-to-date on set photo to show the public how hardworking she is. But no, of all the options, she chose a couple photo taken in summer with someone she's been rumored dating! I can't think of any A-lister who would do the same if he/she's known to have always tried hard to maintain a clean image like JY.
3) The BTSs where YJ hit her "close friend" on the chest, tugged his belt, clung onto him like a koala. Tell me if these actions could be normally done between close friends, not to mention between colleagues within the context of reserved Asian culture? I can't, even though I myself have a male close friend and we've known each other for almost 20 years since high school. No matter how outgoing, cheerful, witty YJ can be in real life, I don't think she can do that to any male co-stars. There's always a boundary between colleagues at work, regardless of your professions.
4) The most betraying gesture on HB's side to me was the NG in hospital bed and the interlocking hands in one BTS. No matter how comfortable you are with certain female colleague, you can't just automatically lean on to their CHEST area laughing while working like he did to YJ. If they were not indeed as close as boyfriend-girlfriend, that action could have been labeled sexual harassment, or less seriously, insensitive. Here obviously we didn't see any discomfort on YJ's face. And to the interlocking hand. Sir, you don't need to demonstrate your idea so realistically and happily squeeze her hands like that if you just consider her a friend. And YJ could have easily avoided it if she had felt uncomfortable. But in the end what did we see? Pure sweetness! The way the interlocked their fingers and held onto it is definitely not between close friends.
I'm neither HB's nor YJ's longtime fan because I never watched/finished any of their dramas/movies before CLOY. Their acting in the past (i'm saying for the time before 2008 because, like I said, I have stopped watching K-dramas ever since until CLOY came around) was meh to me. So I just see what I see, based on my observations, life experience and woman instinct. This ship definitely sails, everyone!
I do believe that they are dating and already in serious relationship and getting tie the knot..
Since I am in the same age like BinJin.. I do believe that their relationship isn't just for a moment since they are in the age of marriage stage!
Hopefully we can hear the good news regarding their wedding soon, maybe after the issue of covid-19 could be handled very well in South Korea especially in YJ's hometown, so she doesn't need to be worried for her family in Daegu especially for her parents. All the best for them.

Yes, She is Capricorn indeed! They can adapt with new atmosphere easily but they just play on the surface.
It's not easy to be very closed with them, as i said they look like extrovert and easy in adaptation but in fact they are introvert! Very hard to read their mind! They can be opened and shared their matters to someone whom very very close to them!

For women which are in our age (SYJ and I were born in 1982 and have same zodiac as well which is Capricorn), Capricorn can't be closed to other people without observes it first! They can sit together face to face to other people without talking but just listening! That mean they are observing the person who they are talking to.
If they can be closed to other people and have relationship with them, It means they have done the observation! We will very much carefully to admit the relationship since we are in the age of marriage stage! We can't just admit the relationship that have no future!

I think SYJ is waiting for her gut to make decision since it will be influenced in her career. She loves her job so much but she needs to make decision as well! And I bet that HB is passed the observation by SYJ that's why they can be closed by now! I think HB is waiting for SYJ decision since He is very comfortable arround SYJ. Since we've already known that HB always brought up his relationship to public, but by now He's still waiting for the green light from SYJ!

I just wanna say something here since there are much questions for "why there's no explanation from SYJ?" regarding this dating rumour between her and HB.
Back to her personality and we shouldn't forget that She is Capricorn.
Since I am Capricorn and I was born in the same year with SYJ and HB as well! I can understand her silent when rumour comes around about her!
