  1. I read this from New Straits Time website and here is the link.AERIAL TALK: Funny girl turns serious - Health - New Straits Times http://www.nst.com.my/life-times/health/aerial-talk-funny-girl-turns-serious-1.255930?localLinksEnabled=false#ixzz2RlQ1Zs5

In the latest Korean series, I Miss You, Yoon Eun Hye plays a fashion designer with a dark side, writes Nur Aqidah Azizi

.THE first time I saw Korean actress Yoon Eun Hye was in a romantic comedy drama, Lie To Me, with  actor Kang Ji Hwan. In the popular series, she played a clumsy and funny girl whose life changed after she met a rich guy.

Before that, she shot to fame with her brilliant performance in Coffee Prince, in which she played a  tomboy.

I remember laughing hard at Yoon’s comedy scenes and she is said to be among the best comedy actresses in the Korean entertainment scene.

But Yoon displays a different side in the Korean drama I Miss You. She is almost unrecognisable in the new popular series, which is now a hit among local fans.

Playing dual characters Lee Soo-Yeon and Zoe Lou, Yoon is far from her usual happy-go-lucky character. In this show, she  proves what a versatile actress she is.

Her characters are dark and mysterious, making it almost impossible to predict her next step.

I Miss You tells the story of Lee Soo-Yeon, a victim of bullies in school whose friends find out later that she is the daughter of a murderer. To add insult to injury, her mother also succumbs to the emotional pressure, resulting in Soo-Yeon being emotionally abused and abandoned by her own mother.

Then comes the hero, Han Jung-Woo, a rich kid played by Park Yoo-Chun, who falls in love with Soo-Yeon. A tragedy separates them and Soo-Yeon ends up in Paris.

Besides Yoon and Park, I Miss You also features Kim So Hyun, Yeo Jin Goo and Yoo Seung Ho.

The first few episodes are slow-moving as fans are introduced to important characters. But as the series moves to 14 years after Jung-Woo and Soo-Yeon separated, the pace picks up.

Soo-Yeon is now a new person and is known as Zoe Lou, a rookie fashion designer with a bright personality. But no amount of make-up and high end designer clothes can mask her emotional scars and the tragic past which continue to haunt her.

More twists and turns take place as questions begin to surface and conflicts get more complicated. I can’t wait to catch the next episode.

I Miss You is a heavy melodrama, but if you expect to see cute heroes and heroines, you will be disappointed. I Miss You is peppered with romantic elements but  these scenes are not overdone.

Thumbs up to directors Lee Jae-Dong and Park Jae-Beom as well as writer Moon Hee-Jung, for another worthy effort.

Although the series is not spared from controversy as some scenes are deemed provocative, it has still managed to record higher viewer ratings when it aired in South Korea early this year.

And judging by the positive response among local fans, I Miss You is likely to hit another record here although some may find the series too heavy-going.

I think the show offers Korean drama fans a different viewing pleasure — especially those who find the usual teen love stories too cheesy.

With I Miss You, the theme is more mature and the love story more convincing.

  2. santaiah178 wrote: »@facing yes, I think it's kind of action drama. Here's the description courtesy of Dramabeans
Three Days involves a presidential plot, unfolding around an emergency that arises at the president’s villa and featuring Blue House bodyguards as main characters. This drama is looking at a 20-episode run and will cover a three-day span, so it won’t quite fit the real time structure. Although I think it’s probably a safe guess that these’ll likely become our hero’s Worst Three Days Ever.

Three Days seems very interesting. I hope Miss Yoon Eun Hye will do this kind of genre. I'm fascinated with political thriller genre and I'm sure  she will be great.
I just wish she will come back soon

  3. The criteria seems unfair. The award or even nomination should be based on performance and not the rating.  Nothing we can do about that, right?.
YEH already won Baeksang. For me I Miss You and Coffee Prince are her best (acting wise). Still, YEH  gained from IMY because more movie producers are offering her. She is still young and I'm sure that she win more acting awards in the future. Who knows for movies in the near future?.
What is more important that more from people from the drama and movie industries respect and recognize her more as an actress because of I Miss You.

  4. santaiah178,
I agreed with you, I hope YEH will take a movie instead as her next acting project. It is less taxing.
I remember Mariyeh said  "enunciation" is no longer a problem. In Lie to Me, her acting and enunciation were not criticized. It is the writing which was criticized and not the acting of YEH.
YEH received praises because of her very good acting in IMY. She is called queen of tears.
In a recent interview, YEH said she wants to do sageuk soon. So it means, she has now confidence in her enunciation.

  5. MCSarangYEH said:

"As for her acting, she chose to learn swimming because of her fear of water. She said jokingly that she wants to do a kissing scene underwater.  “We should open our eyes when we’re underwater, aren’t we? "

Is she hinting us we would be seeing her in a saeguk/action/mixed of both drama or movie this year???If that is so, she needs to start filming it with more than enough time because of her health conditions (pernicious anemia and edema/swelling thanks @shobe11 for reminding me)....

MCSarangYEH, How I wish that she will be casted in the Bride of the Water God (drama).

  6. PeerNorway said: I have just finished watching "Coffee Prince", and I just love it ! I loved the concept of it, the story, all the co-stars - and of course Miss Yoon Eun Hye.
It is a good thing that there are South Korean TV-dramas that has fun and feel-good series, as some of these TV-dramas can be really sad and even painful to watch. I feel happy that this had a happy ending :)
Oh by the way, just a tip for those who are getting the "Coffee Prince" DVD box: As far as I know all of the three DVD Box releases from South Korea has not have any English subtitles, so I ended up with the US release - which is an official release also.
Hmmmm.... I wonder which next Miss Yoon Eun Hye TV drama I should try to pick up next.... Maybe "The Vineyard Man" or "I Miss You" (same as "Missing You" ?) or maybe another.... Hmmmm... I try to find the trailers and make a decision :)

  7. I love Yoon Eun Hye since 2007 and I followed her. I'm not as good as Mariyeh, Santaiah, vegaspink, chichocs and the rest of the true-blooded  YEH warriors, but I read a lot about her, watch her dramas, BTS, events and analyze her actions so I can understand her more.

The PC interviews revealed much. I was surprised and little bit confused. She has new perspective in life and I'm happy for her.

Talking about the IMY ending, well Eunie cares a lot about the viewers and she always want to give the best. As a fan I love her more because of her genuine appreciation and care for the fans and viewers.

About her love relationship, this is my take. ASSUMING THAT THERE IS A PRIVATE PERSON COURTING HER RIGHT NOW AND ASSUMING THAT THE MAN CAUGHT HER INTEREST, I THINK SHE KNOWS THERE WILL BE LESS PROBLEM BECAUSE IT WOULD BE MUCH EASIER TO DATE A PRIVATE PERSON.

READING HER INTERVIEW MADE ME THINK THAT MAYBE THE MAN COURTING HER OR SHOWING AN INTEREST TO HER IS A CELEBRITY. HER ANSWER TO THE INTERVIEW SUPPORTS MY THEORY (BUT OF COURSE I MAY BE WRONG) .

I'M NOT SAYING THAT THE MAN IS PYC BECAUSE IT COULD BE SOMEONE ELSE. MAYBE A PAST CO-WORKER OR MAYBE A CELEBRITY WHOM SHE HAD NOT WORKED WITH.

IT WAS ALSO HIGH POSSIBILITY THAT A LOT OF CELEBRITIES ARE SHOWING INTEREST TO HER. MAYBE PYC IS NOT AMONG THEM (I'M VERY SKEPTIC PERSON).

DON'T WORRY CHUNHYE SHIPPERSS, IT WILL BE OKAY WITH ME IF PYC, I LEARNED TO LIKE HIM BECAUSE OF IMY AND STARTED READING ARTICLES ABOUT HIM IN HIS SOOOMPI THREAD.

WHAT REALLY DISTURBED ME IS WHY EUNIE SAID SHE WAS LONELY AND I THOUGHT SHE WAS IN  HIGH SPIRITS. BY THE WAY THE INTERVIEW SPOKE A LOT OF THINGS AND I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT THERE ARE UNDERLYING MESSAGES.

EUNIE NEVER LIES SO FANS HAVE TO DIG DEEPER TO DECODE HER MESSAGES.

  8. I just hope that someone would provide us the translation of her latest tweets. Coffee Prince will always be my one of my all-time favorite dramas.

Congratulation to YEH for  I Miss You. You did great in the drama. Before,  you are known to be the romcom queen. Now,  you gain another title which is the queen of tears.

I'm glad that YEH is happy. I just hope you will choose a movie as your next acting project (more of health reason). I hope you will take some rest first. Health is more important.

I'm so excited for your upcoming press conference.

Oh I have still one  big dream for YEH. I  hope she will do the Bride of the Water God opposite Hyun  Bin.

Warriors and IMY supporters, thank you. You lessen my stress due to my taxing work. We have common denominator here - love for Eunie.

  9. YEH warriors,

Thanks again for the information and updates. Despite of the criticisms hurled against IMY in Koala's playground, I still believe that IMY is still good.

I hope YEH will take a rest and take a movie as her next acting project because doing drama is much difficult of the limited time to shoot the scenes.

  10. Miss Yoon Eun Hye,

I don't know if you know the existence of this thread but I decided to post my New Year's greetings for you.

God truly showers you with infinite blessings, graces, protection, among others in the past years. You have showed to our Lord that you are grateful to Him as manifested by your many good deeds, charity works, and love and care for the people (especially the poor and underprivileged like the people in Madagascar), co-workers, fans and others.

We love you because you are not only beautiful physically but a very good person and you have a good soul. You are caring, not greedy, generous,  passionate, humble and of course  words are not enough to describe you.

I know it will take time to see you again in drama but I hope you do a movie this year 2013  (if you want to). But please take time to rest and recharge.

    To all warriors,

thank you for loving YEH and I also pray that you be blessed more this year 2013 and the years to come.

  11. If YEH said that I Miss You will be her last drama before she turn 30, then can we just hope that she will take movie.

As to the kiss scene, it is good. I read that PYC' kissing scenes are "toned down" ones and many speculated that because he is an idol and many fans maybe jealous.

And it is good that he did not hesitate to do such scene with YEH and I know that PYC knows that  YEH did kissing scenes in all her past dramas and it is not a big deal with YEH.

  12.          I'm sure I belong to the minority that believe that LSY/Zoe is not weak. I agreed with rsu18 that she is strong as manifested by HJW's text sent to her that he is happy that unlike Bora, LSY choose life.

I do believe that LSY is only on the stage of her lowest point. There are times when  people found themselves at their weakest due to unbearable circumstances but still managed to stand up.

I think LSY is like that and her actions are justified (for me but I respect others who think otherwise). LSY had just return to Seoul and met her rapist who later called and  harassed her.  No matter how strong a person she became, she would definitely got affected.

Then meeting HJW  whom she believed abandoned her is another hurtful experience for her. The first time she saw her mom in the restaurant is another hurtful experience. She has misconception.

Meeting her rapist and the two important persons whom she thought abandoned her in successive occasions caused pain and agony for a person who is not yet completely healed.

After learning the truth about her mother and HJW, LSY will realize that LSY is not really about pain, tragedy, unloved and she would realize that there is still good thing in the life of LSY despite of her tragic past.

I don't hate Harry and I believe that LSY do really love him. How deep?  Unfortunately, LSY will have dilemma because she still like and care for HJW. She will definitely suppress her feeling for HJW because there is no reason for her to break up with Harry. Not  knowing Harry's revenge plan and the involvement of his mother to the kidnapping, it is only right for LSY to stay with him. She love and care for Harry and they have 14 years together, she would not just throw out that life with Harry. She would definitely sacrifice her longing and feeling for HJW because of Harry.

And I'm sure the writer is planning justified reasons why she would eventually  choose HJW. I also belong to the minority that  wanted that LSY to end up with HJW.

The moment she learned the truth that her mother and HJW do really care for her, she changed. Remember, she failed to suppress her feeling from showing her care to HJW about his drinking.

And the moment she learned that Harry's mother is behind the  kidnapping, her relationship with Harry will definitely be affected if not crushed.

By the way, the character description of LSY/Zoe said that she confuse people and the writer achieved her purpose. The pieces of evidence are very clear. We are divided on how we think about LSY. Some of says she is very weak, some say that her character has no backbone while some still believe that she is strong. I believe that she is strong because how could you become successful as fashion designer if she is weak. It just that at this moment, circumstances pushed her to the lowest point of her life but she will definitely stand up.

In the early episodes, the writer tell  her story from the eyes of HJW. But I think she has reason for that, remember she tickled our mind to believe that she could be a murder suspect. Look at the eyes of Zoe when she was with the cleaning lady (I felt  something scary).   But I believe that the writer would surprise us on how she would deal with her character. I have faith.

By the way I also belong to the minority that think that episode 12 is not boring. My favorite scene is her meeting with her mother and I find it very touching.I don't believe that LSY is killer but I think she will be implicated again like what other warrior has pointed out in the thread.

LSY's character is not dark and I think she has good heart and her meetings with her mother would back up this. She is a good daughter.

My only request is that writer will give us scenes that make us smile, laugh and even hope.

    sorry for the long post.

  13. YEH warriors,

Thank you for the updates and  the recaps. I have yet to watch episode 3 to 6 and I only read your updates.   I plan to watch the episodes soon. I know that YEH will do justice for the role and I never doubt that. The rating increased and I'm so happy. Fighting. I avoided the blogs who have a lot of antis.

To YEH, Park Yoo Chun and the rest of the cast, the writer, PD and the entire crew congratulation.
