Anyway my thought is that all along during this ep10, OG is still in love with JSM because of GGG, since it has not change owner yet.

Only the contract & the SJ fate went to the BS. He made JSM think that he doesn't love her anymore and that the owner of GGG is someone else. But actually OG is trying to hold back all his feelings towards JSM so that she can lead her ordinary life that she always wanted. (This is real love~~) The part when OG is telling OJ that he hid his feelings well at MW house.

i am enlightened by the words highlighted in green! it is possible that OG sacrificial love was due to GGG and not his true nature after all. zomgggggggg.

i still want to see that nasty temper of a monkey in future episode making snide remarks at seon mi. (he was more of like a wounded monkey quarrelling with sm in ep 10)

and the contract went to bookseller... meaning she could call on OG anytime - which happened.

and i realised i have been confused all along

OG and SM have 2 things binding them together

contract - seon mi can summon OG by calling his name (wef: as a child - which was stolen by BS)

GGG - love (wef: adult seon mi - cannot be stolen by BS)

was confused that GGG allows sm to call on OG but actually it is something different.

    THANK YOU. am super enlightened.

i guess i am super confused since i am struggling watching 60-90% subs and thankfully this forum helps me make sense of things.

  2. Questions:

in ep 9, anyone knows how seon mi arrived to stop the fire? she simply just appeared there and then. or did i miss something?

in ep 10, was there a transfer of ownership of Geum Gang Go? Cause the bookseller demon managed to call on Oh Gong... super confused over this part. did the bookseller became samjang as well within that timeframe or there was no transfer of anything at all?

i can now appreciate bu ja x pk x seon mi plot now. but i wonder how bu ja will end. bu ja story will again go round in a circle. and sang jang x oh going -.- i wonder how can the story move on to something else.

i still wished there was more action like ma wang vs pk rather than it ending with seon mi hugging bu ja.

and shouldn't seon mi be dead if her child soul was captured? or izzit because she assumed 2 identities so one could carry on living? if so shouldn't her memory of oh going be zapped too?

i would have preferred ordinary seon mi waking up to ma wang and not knowing who he was. and oh going will still be around seon mi trying to make her remember him. that would have been awesome.

  3. wow, good to be back. this show made me log in after a year.

great acting but there are too many subplots overrunning...

    1. bu ja (and now inclusive of mother, hit n run case and the driver seems to be too big of a deal to let him slide anytime soon)

    2. octopus prince  (i don't mind since its a one for one replacement with alice) - just to boost PK storyline

    3. ma wang's love (finally has a name)

    4. jonathan?

i don't really know what to expect every week. what answers am I going to get? plus they are not really consequential to the entire story so anticipation isn't high. just need the usual dose of seeing cha seung won and seung gi weekly.

however finally one good cliffhanger in ep 9 only to be appeased the next day. phew.

I like ep 9's child soul napper demon best. finally one bad richard simmons with a human form plus nicely weaved to seon mi childhood. didn't expect that ep 9 demon could nicely weave herself into many plots. hence ep 9 is my fav (plus the wedding scene!)

i wonder whether the driver who killed bu ja is possessed or just a filthy human. we don't have such a human so i wonder whether his actions is detrimental to the heavenly realm if not oh gong can just wish him away.

realised lee seung gi zoomed in smile can take up to 5 seconds and i don't mind that. no need for subplots.

the master's sun did it well and was expecting the same for this since same hong sisters. however, having watched the journey to the west before, i guess the subplots as compared to the chinese version is less draggy. then again this one only has 20 eps!

I like how the script let us down for the soo and wook relationship... Afterall it has been a build up for 5 eps. The most important line for me was lady hae saying both wook and soo were FOOLS. I inferred that she has approached wook abt this again and his reply was lady hae was his wife and thats it. I dont think he would deny his feelings for hae soo but rather focus on his wife.

I felt that this was a good script as lady hae can leave this world at peace knowing both closest to her honoured her despite their feelings and also despite her support for them. This is extremely important... Can u imagine they got together infront of her in her last moments even if it is just to show her? I wouldnt bare to watch the show. I like lady hae.

also thanks to 13th... The boundaries are iron clad. From now on we can surmised the 8th will be the one hankering for hae soo but she would have moved on...

  5. anyone can reply me with the ep 6 preview text?  found!

thought ep 4 was purely relationship fluff but ep 5 was able to have some better plot development like the the soap business, time traveller, the queens, marriage of the princes x princess (yay so did not engage in competing for his half sister against yo)...

So is really coming across as a softie... i rather he stay ruthless in all his dealings. that was why i was fascinated with him. he can be a softie when there is meaning to it rather than it being his nature...

  6. i think lee joon gi makes up for all the claimed short comings of the show.

i don't see the shortcomings of the other cast because i am so entranced by the 4th and have not put on my critical thinking hat...

like people sneering at IU for opening her eyes and looking at So during her scenes with him, like hello... she came from the MODERN era... thats how girls behave. she has not swapped her nature for the olden times. if she suddenly acted all lady like to fit in the times by using a handkerchief to cover her face or whatever fits then, that would be bad interpretation which such viewers are asking for. i'm not saying that her acting is good... but it aligns with the plot.

everyone should just watch LJK. rest my case.

I havent yet started getting into this drama but am curious if its worth watching.  Reason being I have already seen the other version and know the plot line goes.  Despite the attraction of the main cast in this one my other reason for raising this question is that the leading actor and actress in this are being slammed for poor acting.  So i am curious what the forum thinks as they are tuned in episode by episode of this one.

the lead actor is too good. this is my first show w LJG and i cannot take my mind off him. just finished running man where he took part in to promote the show.

i have since tried his other shows in less than 24 hrs but i dare say the cumulation of all his acting expertise can be seen in ep1-3.

the only other show i really liked of his while hunting his acting repertoire was the king and the clown...

That´s not so easy in my eyes. With Wang Yo he will never be on good terms. Wang Jung just proved with words that he don´t know him - he never had a conversation with him - so I hope he will learn later that he was wrong about his older Brother all that years just believing the words form others. Wang Wook (8th) and Wang Moo seems to know more and understands him a bit better. Wang Moo was there on the Day his Mother hurt Wang So and he was old enough to find out a lot. I like the 13th - the Artist - and the one who dares to great WS when he came in. I hope he can be on his Side - but I believe the 9th will be on Wang Yos Side. Just my feeling.

Yes - it is sad that WS can not be really just join the Party - so I can only hope for him to get in better bothership with individual Brothers. Not with all as I guess. And I hope Eun will change toward him later too. Because he is the Fun Faktor who cheers the mood - and I wish to see Wang Sos Smile around him.

i understand where you are coming from... but i am not aiming for the 4th to be on good terms w his bros. he is set up to be a lone wolf. i just need him w a girl and he is complete for me ^^

i was commenting that i was surprised the script allowed for 4th to smile upon his brothers...

he could have been indifferent like when hae soo n 10th were fighting outside. i thought it was a tad out of character. moreover the 8th caught him smiling so it is somewhat against the nature he set up for himself. hence i concluded he miss/ wants  familial bonding sessions.

the 4th need not be among the brothers all the time... but at least during ceremonies/ rituals, let him be part of it w his brothers cordially. i think its more interesting to watch how he behaves and speaks/ retorts around them. we had enough scenes w him alone n pushing hae soo around. ep 4 shows he has a change of heart through his words towards hae soo... wonder how sincere are they

  9. @kentangbakar... thank you chinggu. i was thinking was it plastic surgery or what... their faces don't match at all..haha

i checked out dramawiki.... seems like she will become queen to the 4th (Hwangbo Yeonhwa, later Queen Daemok)

also the 'story' today by hae soo to lady hae... not sure whether hae soo is giving lady hae a forewarning of what is going to happen to her. i.e. hae soo x 8th... but since hae soo has experience such betrayal... i doubt she can bring herself to be the perpetrator...

and i think the 8th is quite doubled hearted... his wife is laying before him unwell and he can still look over towards hae soo... think that ship for me has plunged.

  10. still half way at ep 3... anyone knows the ages of the characters? so the 13 x lady hae are contemporaries no?

although i thought initially lady hae was much older than 8th and for treating hae soo as a daughter. 13 seems young... this is messy

or izzit a noona x dongseng relationship that is going on between them?

maybe the 8th could have been the father figure and 10th be the cheeky love rival.

and can i say that the order of princes is not according to their ages? 8th seems much older than 4th but i think could be just mannerism? and 10th seems younger than 13/14...this could be a height thing haha. or am i mistaken?

  11. i think 4th mother hates the 4th cos she is ashamed of what she has done to him... scarring her own child face like that and actually wanting to take his life along with hers. she threw away her pride like that in front of the king. now that she is all hoity toity... guess she can't stand that reminder of being cast away by the king.

i wonder what is the history behind the kangs of shinju town where the 4th was sent as 'hostage'. i think he would have received some love from his adopted mother...

oh I forgot to mention about what the radio Djs talk about this morning about the drama.

They mentioned that Haesoo is supposed to be really good in doing make up and its such a coincidence that the 4th prince has a scar and maybe just maybe there will be an opportunity for a product endorsement like scar removal cream.:D:D:D I was really lol when I heard this. Or maybe Haesoo will be so good that she can do a makeover of the 4th (yep, right now he looks like a shaggy dog that needs a bath) and cover up his scars with some miracle cream she invents from the ancient herbs. :P

Well, who say we cant have fun with a historical. I say lots!:D

you found something common that they can bond over with! we totally need something more substantial instead of leaving it to their run ins with each other. haha.

Finished watching episode 3 with ENG sub, and it was decent. Nothing phenomenal other than the new choice of music that had been added to the drama.

First off, I am questioning about the relationship between 13th prince and Lady Hae (Hae Soo's cousin). I think they must've had some sort of relationship before Lady Hae got married to 8th prince because I found it quite suspicious for 13th prince to be playing the gayaguem for her to hear when no else was around other than Hae Soo. It seems like both of them enjoy the same interest; music. And when he said to Lady Hae that she should know about their relationship, it seems a little eerie.

About the "who is the prince in this version that will be close to 4th prince", that prince might be the crown prince, but, it seems like after the crown prince ascends the throne, 4th prince will conspire against him. Therefore, I am still unsure. HAhahahaha

I hope it is not just me, but for this version, I am rooting for Hae Soo and 8th prince. The reason why that is is because I am just not that fond of 4th prince personality in this version. It's true that he was brought up with a harsh environment, but making him ruthless and cold towards everyone, including Hae Soo, just doesn't really match what I was expecting of him as my 4th prince. He can have hate towards everyone, but be secretive with it. If he's secretive about it, I believe it will make the viewers more curious about his thought process. We can have fun in guessing when he will start snapping, but since he is very frank with his hatred and despises, I personally won't really see a change in character when he becomes king and start killing more people because I already got use to it in the beginning.

I found it very interesting and cute on how 8th prince interacted with Hae Soo when she was crying in the forest.

historically the 4th will be the next king. i guess the director wants to emphasise on the ruthlessness that the historical books recorded about him.

i don't think being secretive about his hatred would help in the plot line... usually viewers tend to be a stickler for male leads whose personality takes a 360 degree change especially for the female lead. think thats how the show is going to be like. there always must be a gap in the initial stages and then filling of the gap for the audience.

the 8th's only gap is his marriage so the gap isn't that big to start with. in the end... it may just be a suffocating protective kind of relationship...

thank you for raising the 13th and the 8th wife... i think it helps make the 8th and HS relationship less controversial... we don't have to feel so bad for the sick lady.

Ok looks like the audience really wants something simpler rather than a more complex story offered by Moon Lovers. Sigh....

Seems like the shows I watch are all not that popular, :sweatingbullets:

I just want to come and weigh in on the issue about the 8th Prince being married. In 5he Chinese version, he even have two! But there he didn't have a good relationship with both. In ancient times, it's quite normal or expected that anybody who hits puberty will in some sort of arranged marriage. Since he is a Prince, alll the more he will be married to align to some power line. I am surprised the rest of the Prince are portray as single.

So just watch the show in context ok?

I guess cos the 8th is up against a very eligible 4th... Unless the 4th has his own wife??? Then i think the controversy wont be that easy for naysayers to comment. Then again its obvious hs is falling for 8th and he for her so i wonder how much plot will be given to us for that. The wife may soon throw her out and the 4th will bring her back. Hope hs doesnt get to leave the household too soon.

Or the wife passes on due to ill health ans hs will be proposed to by 8th... Is the concubine part legit? I doubt for this remake though...

why does the queen hate the 4th prince she is the real mother right? the one that scarred him? why is she such an awful wench???

probably reminded of that scene with the king... the king didn't really wanted to give them his blessing from what i can infer. cos he was gonna get married after first prince died. so current crown prince is not hers but by another concubine...

by order i wonder who is 2nd prince... cos seems like 3rd prince is the current queen oldest son. which makes Soo her 2nd but unwanted son?
