I always pray that the strike wont affect this drama, I guess it just did. I just hope they wont cancel the last 2 episodes just like that. DAMN! this strike was indeed pretty serious. I really hope it can resolve soon but I highly doubt about it. the last time MBC on strike also lasted quite long. as an international viewer, of course i felt quite disappointed on this matter however looks like from this time around, the strike is pretty serious to deal in a small amount of time. as this strike involving political sentiments, i seriously highly doubt it will end soon but i still hope it does or will out of miracle end and resolve this matter sooner...

PPS. Regarding the kisses - Joseon Dynasty, first time reconciliation, not married yet - and viewers expected Western style kissing!!??? I thought the stolen kiss was sweet and the kiss in the political chambers. And don't forget, technically they are meant to be 23 and 21 years old (in Joseon times)

Thank you, I am happy to finally see a Positive Post. These poor actors and actresses have endured the freezing cold and no hours of sleep for this show. Also I wanted to ask if anyone knows why MBC rushed to air this show? If this show had more time it could have had a better time with editing
reading from the PD interview, he already said since the beginning before this drama got a green light to go, the whole process kinda chaos and in-rush. with the budget thing, time thing. I think that's how it eventually leads to now. thankfully, with all the chaos they still gain a high viewership.
Thank you I totally agree. But I did not like how MBC had things so unplanned. MBC as a big TV station should have had better planning for this show. I really felt sorry to the cast and crew on how this show was totally rushed.
I think it's more on the Pan Drama side. they're not MBC entity but somehow since the drama is broadcast in MBC, the time-length, the strike all kinda contribute to the rushing thing with this drama. the sad thing though...
Netizens are in rage because of the leak but then this just show how the production team really follow the novel for the ending. I just hope even if they follow the novel, they can still make the ending as beautiful as possible

What really bugged me about the last two episodes is that they could have really taken a risk with YW's character that could have made this drama so much more better! Instead, they kind of dulled her in a way that would have the feminists complaining. Seriously, it became Kim Soo Hyun does all the work while she sits prettily in his chambers... Well, this is just my opinion but her taking revenge would have been awesome. I mean when she pulled her head up and had that strong gaze, I was dancing in the moonlight. I was like damn, I cannot wait to see her in action! They've kind of thrown her away.

I saw the same discussion on this matter too in bestiz. the k-netizens also disappointed on how they portray YW character for the last 2 episodes. some have made an assumptions that they actually cut a lot of HGI scenes because of her inconsistent acting. however, the PD has explain that it's made like that as it is. not because of any other factors. I also think that YW character somewhat lost in interpretation between episode 16 to episode 17 and 18. maybe the limit time frame leads to all of these... *sigh*

I read on twitter that she was there on all days. They said first day, she was at the VIP section, 2nd day: that picture, standing section*quoted image* and just awhile ago, I read she was also there. I was also surprised that she was able to attend in all 3 days and amazed that she even saw the concert at the standing area.

If I may add, I really love reading comments here in soomp but there are instances, I deliberately skipped parts which endlessly criticizing the actors as it will somewhat affect my views regarding the actors, actress or the show itself. Admit it or not, sometimes, what we read affects or casts doubts about what we are actually seeing or believing so in order not to be swayed by others’ beliefs I honestly leave it out and I just enjoyed the show as its story unfolds. I am not saying that voicing out dissatisfaction about the drama is unacceptable, that’s why this is a forum BUT we readers have a CHOICE whether to be influenced or not.
i do agree with you but for me, i like to read all the comments. indeed it does kinda affect our belief on the actors or actress but for me, i acknowledge it. i admit that the actors or actress didnt quite deliver well as some other people didnt feel it. it just that i still believe in the actor actress though. hehe
i like to read what others feel about them yet i still didnt swayed with it ^^

Okay enough of the rants.
There's no such thing as a "perfect drama" after all.
I understand all your points especially on Han Ga In's acting and her chemistry with Kim Soo Hyun.
Oh well, there are and there will be criticisms with regards to this.
Yet, I don't think it's strong enough to pull the show down
not because a lot of people already invested in the drama but
because they can see something in Han and her pairing with Kim.
They totally changed every detail of the story since they don't want to copy the book at all.
The show wants to be distinct from the book. It's not right to always drag the book details when we're almost done here.
I also think that the comparison of the child and adult leads will be endless. Seriously.
Alright, these child stars were incredible on the first 6 episodes (since they do sageuks even before)
but the adults weren't that bad too. You can't expect their characters to be the same as they were 8 years ago.
It's frustrating that some always see the glass half emptied rather than it is half filled.

), fans of this drama did a lot of fanart of HGI-KSH pictures. picturing them doing the modern drama. wishing these 2 to act in a modern type drama or will have some CF together or something cause they see the chemistry between these two. well for me, I saw it too the problem for me for now is how to depart from this drama

I think this already being explain by the pd if I'm not mistaken. the reason they didnt develop more of Woon story like it's from the book is because Woon's story will overshadow the main characters story. that's why he just remain as Hwon's bodyguard that's blessed with good looks, brains and fighting skills only....
I agree that this drama definitely have it loop holes... it's like from episode 15-16, Yeonwoo was supposed to get revenge or at least did not immediately admit that she's Yeonwoo or something...
if at least they made the scene like this is much better. like the korean fan made this one at bestiz

I've been a SONE for almost 3 years now. it has come to me that antis movement really didnt do a thing to them and us. they can say all they want and as far as i know saying things that they think they will hurt us or the girls can gain them some attention, and ignoring is the best solution ever.
Stopping by... and decide to also share my story of becoming a Sone
Actually I've liked SNSD since they first debuted. Back then I was a Suju fan, then I heard there's a girl group that was like the female version of Suju debuted. I was curious, so I searched things about them and watched their ITNW MV. I like them immediately, despite hearing many bad rumors about them. Well... because it's just rumors you know
But seemed like I was the only one who thought so, because everyone was like "ZOMG RE^S&DADD%!#$%^^&$ What btches, plastics, fake, blablabla" and so on back then. But at that time, Suju is still my #1 lol I started to leave Suju's fandom and getting more and more attached to SNSD since the beginning or middle of 2008 maybe? And then Dream Concert 2008 incident happened. I still remember what I felt back then. It really felt like sh1ts, it's like anger and sadness mixed into one. It really really broke my heart watching the girls getting black ocean and getting boo-ed at, yet they still performed although some of them were on the verge of crying (Jessica was... obviously). In order to cover it Sones back then cheered, screamed, and sang along as loud as they could to SNSD, and really props to K-sones for doing that. Also Sones got slandered heavily too. I stood up for SNSD and Sones all out. Okay so I'm still a Sone until now. SNSD is my #1 for a very very long time. I also didn't think that I'd be a Sone for so long. Counted from they first debuted, it's been almost 5 years I think? I've never liked a group for so long. The power of 9?
So that's the end of my story :] Does anyone know any news regarding what time Time Machine MV will be released? This song has a mysterious feeling yet has beautiful melodies, glad that this is made into an MV. Hope this will be a decent MV

well since I'm not an anti nor that I'm a fan of them.
I like all korean things one thing for sure. I like dbsk first as kpop artist (though I thought they are japan group at first as I knew them from their japan song
). then I listen to Gee, well i like the song but the group has so many members. i'm so lazy to get to know all of them lol. it was on September 2009 where the turning point of me becoming a SONE until now. watching them in Hello Baby, seeing the dorks side of them, watching Genie performances, searching all things about them. Girls' Generation wikipedia page is totally my encyclopedia to get to know them. only then, i found soshified and everything are history now
yep I'm a SONE then, and will always proud to be ONE until I dont know when....

then I watched her in terms of endearment and she really make me cry a lot in that drama.And honestly, I've watched Nam Bora the actress who plays MW before, she's the one who played the Maknae daughter in Glory Jane, and in that drama her character was the same too. The selfish one who cared little for her family and only cared about her own feelings and ambitions and how she felt. In that drama as well, everytime she came on the screen I had to fast forward or mute because all she did was screeeeeech and screeeeam and stomp her feet. I hope the actress starts to pick some new roles soon because she's typecasting herself.
yep i hate her character in Glory Jane too. I guess she really suitable in this kind of character, the annoying-kind-of character. maybe it's too early for her to try other more serious character yet.

I just get to watch ep18 today. I'm so in despair not to get watch the new episode the moment i woke up this morning as my internet undergoes some kind of bean pie state
only after about 9 hours, I can download and watch it.so it goes like this.
OMGAAAHHHHH!!!! the first scene so awesomely cute to the max!!!! With the cute King that show his tantrum and HS in the middle, all of the things from the scene so effin' cute
Princess Minhwa.... I actually not really hate her character before and even now I actually just didnt feel that hatred toward her character.. but then my feelings toward her is rather a disappointed feeling than hate. she finally got caught by her brother and finally she spilled all the truth in front of her brother but then, that words... the words that say she didnt even regret if she can even turn back time. it just mean that, if that time, she really understand what her role at that ritual is, she'll indeed go through with it anyway. it totally change my view on her character. indeed she is just a selfish person. poor Yeom. like Seol said, he's having a baby with the woman that involved in his sister killing plot.
KSH really nailed it again with his overflowing emotion. he's just so awesome
the scene when Young Hwon met with Adult Hwon wow. these two seriously fit with Hwon character! so awesome! I'm just so happy to see Jingu again in the recent episode. I hope to see somehow the adult main looking back at their young character at the end of this episode. Yes I want Jingu and Yoojung to come back again.
OMG. Janshil... her power so awesome. how can she just said those words to Seol after she saw her coming back. indeed this kid is gifted to be a shaman. her power after being Nokyong's daughter really have improve so much. she's so much like Ari. I love her character.
Hwon indeed so not like his dad. His dad do anything to protect his family but Hwon style is to put JUSTICE at first. he's tired of being pushed around by these people throughout his life. These people even go to the point of taking other people lives. unlike his father that didnt do justice to his brother(Prince Uiseong) death, YW's death and other people that involve. I totally love what he did to the grandma queen
it just so sad to let go this drama next week... i always check on this thread so regularly. I even check out bestiz for any update on this drama. I dont how to depart from it

today episode I was giggling and squealing so much watching this.
it kinda remind me when our OTP younger days.
my spazz over today episode. so long. I'll just put it under spoiler to save others that not watching the episode yet
the scene of their first met at the infirmary, it just so sad... I can feel from them. 8 years of not meeting their other half and the moment Yeonwoo ask, is this real or just her illusion. it just show how much she also miss him as much as he miss her. then, the assassins interfere
the scene of the fight between the 2 Suns. I felt so sad for YM, how can he killed his brother. so much that he jealous of him, he still loves his brother. so much that he loves the same woman as HW, he still loves his brother.
I wish a good ending for him but somehow i can already predict his ending based from his ending in the books...
so much scenes that make me so happy today.
the scene when HW sees YW in his room. he asked her to come closer, closer and his impatient face that he just want to get close to her no matter what that he just hug her so tight in front of HS, Woon and the servants. he didnt even do like this with Bokyung.
the time when HW was so boring reading the scrolls and wanting some attention from YW yet YW so busy reading her book lol
I swear the sides of this HW really remind me of the young HW. finally our cheerful Crown Prince/King has returned.
and like HW, i find it amusing that YW is actually jealous of herself

Y definitely grew his heart towards MW and like Janshil said when she's a kid, Seol cant get close to Y as she will 'melt'. snow and fire cant be together. wonder if this bring more meaning to the future episodes.

the interview is so good.
I felt so touched as the production team actually having a hard moment in the beginning of the production with the insufficient budget, the not finalized director until last minute. I'm glad that they went through with it and came out with a great masterpiece. Our treat for every Wednesday and Thursday, becoming the National Drama
Kudos to the production team and all the actors and actresses.
I also like how the PD-nim involved 90% in choosing the casting. How the seniors and juniors actors and actresses blend really well for their character. It's really great. Thanks PD-nim, production team and the whole casts

I have two friends who never watch sageuk dramas because they dont like to see the actors and actresses in traditional costume. I guess in their minds, drama like this is not that excited. But I guess my enthusiam about this drama and with my frequent postings to Facebook, at last tempted my 2 friends to watch. And now they are on par with me up to Episode 16. You can say I'm very pleased and happy that I managed to convince them to watch The Moon That Embraces The Sun

Awesome drama indeed, havent seen a historical drama since Ja Myung Go... and those of you who watched that know how that drama ended... so it's refreshing to see a romance drama like TMETS-- that actually focuses on the love story of the 2 main characters rather than political corruption or some other gov't storyline.

Btw after reading the a few of the posts related to episode 17, I find it hilarious that when Hwon and Yeonwoo finally meet, and he embraces her "passionately"-- assassins arrive on scene to kill YeonWoo..
1) It was never confirmed that Shaman Wol is YeonWoo-- to Minister Yoon... [i find it hilarious whenever he immediately needs something to be covered-up its "send the assassins!"
2) and... I have a strong feeling that the last scene from preview 16 [when it looks like the couple is about to kiss]... will be interrupted by the assassins..
yep it's so sad that they will be interrupted by the assassins. the same reaction from the korean views too when the ep17 txt preview revealed. it seems like we MoonSunners whether you're korean or not, we gave the same response for our OTP not to be disturbed during the "EMBRACING/KISS" moment. well that's what from the title also...

it doesnt really matter now.
But seemed like I was the only one who thought so, because everyone was like "ZOMG RE^S&DADD%!#$%^^&$ What btches, plastics, fake, blablabla" and so on back then. But at that time, Suju is still my #1 lol I started to leave Suju's fandom and getting more and more attached to SNSD since the beginning or middle of 2008 maybe? And then Dream Concert 2008 incident happened. I still remember what I felt back then. It really felt like sh1ts, it's like anger and sadness mixed into one. It really really broke my heart watching the girls getting black ocean and getting boo-ed at, yet they still performed although some of them were on the verge of crying (Jessica was... obviously). In order to cover it Sones back then cheered, screamed, and sang along as loud as they could to SNSD, and really props to K-sones for doing that. Also Sones got slandered heavily too. I stood up for SNSD and Sones all out.

With all the MBC strike going on, we MoonSunners sure not in the good mood especially when the news of cancellation of this week episodes...
yes, I'm putting a positive mind too. I just dont want the ending to be rushed. I just hope the end product will be satisfying though despite these whole chaos. they can make it out in the early of production for this drama, I hope they can pull it out the best for the end also. Wishing and praying hard for this.
sorry to cut your post. yes I agree with this. since this drama also already hit the 40% rating mark and has been the #1 weekly top rated show among all broadcasting station, the PD side definitely using this to show that they're meant it with the strike.
I think the PD used to tweet that he was indeed felt sad since he cant join the strike though he's also the member of the union. i dont think he just playing around with his words. Though indeed he's pretty strategist on the decision he made. however, his decision was also supported by other current-airing MBC drama PDs. that just mean that the PDs really want to show something to the station. it the MBC President side need to take this measure the right way. in this one article I read regarding on this strike matter, "they want a negotiation and not a discipline action" cause the last time strike occurred, they took disciplinary action on their worker. the company president surely did a lot of wrong things that has pissing off the workers so much.
regarding on KSH's agency that say they cant alter his schedule more after the stated date, I think from the p.o.v of the agency and business, it's understandable. though KSH didnt have any drama or movie (but didnt he also have a movie to coming out soon called "The Thieves" or something
) anyway, the CF shooting also something that his agency already agree on maybe even way before he started this drama. who knows... business-wise, if he postponed this, the other side and his agency got a lot of time and energy will be wasted... this situation now is actually one unfortunate event for this drama actually. looks like the higher we thought this drama can go, it still got it down part. not only in terms of the storyline, acting delivery or technical part but also like the current situation... *deep sigh* 
let's just hope that this thing can work out real soon.
on a side note, I read that other dramas that supposed to air after TMETS also was putting on hold though they're not from the same company. It seems like they dont want to clash with this drama. this drama still intimidate other drama hehehe
