    That still makes no sense to me. JH isn't very good "main villain" material. They should've kept Chairwoman Ma till the end, I wanted to see a final battle between her and YK (since she's the protagonist) where YK got to avenge her parents herself.

    Yeah I can't believe Ma died so easily, not to mention YK was not involved in as everyone would have thought. At the end of the day it's such a half-baked revenge.

    The kid was an after thought throughout most of the drama, and Ji Ho hasn't expressed anything as a genuine father since maybe the 40's episodes. She's leverage and thats it. To try to make HB some type of trigger for his redemption is utter nonsense

    Agreed. This is one of the few dramas I don't appreciate keeping the child until the end. I guess the writer wants to portray HB is still loved by JH and HS but it came off so lame to me. They have been both selfish with their goals until she is in danger.

    This is so true. How sad when something started so well ends so badly. When JH became the main villain, it seems like the writing started to go downhill from there.

    I can't help thinking that the HS's effect is so strong in the good guys team. The script clearly doesn't give them an ounce of sense. HS and SM didn't believe Mama Kang would delete the video for JH. Eyeroll. Mama Kang has a million reasons to do so, given how she has covered up for his crimes and fake identity. 

     

    I'm not really impressed with the twists here and there. They are a bit forced to make up for the stupidity of the revenge team. That said, I like that HS hasn't had a lot of scenes lately. The development might not be great, but I'm happy to just see her again in ep 120 with IH and HB.

    @kboramint  @Thong Thin  @CupcakeEonni Thanks for your input. I also thought JH is too selfish to love anyone aside from himself, but part of me wanted to see some possible residual feelings he had for SY to figure out how he went from resenting to courting SY overnight. That would at least give us the conclusion of their relationship status, as in whether they are back together for good or become enemies until they die. It's draining to see an on-and-off "couple".

    Sadly she got stupid in today's episode and helped JH pay his debt :cold_sweat: YK quickly realized this and told her about the real will LOL. You guys can probably guess what happened next.

    Yeah I'm not sure if this drama is taking the wrong turn. With this we will likely see SY again as a main villain after JH falls.

     

    While I don't have time for a detailed recap, ep 96 was just a story of how JH and SY continued their love game. So after so much hate, JH realized SY could be his insurance instead of HS and decided to win her back. I got a feeling of deja vu when SY provoked JH and he then pulled her into a somewhat violent kiss. It's the same as what we saw in one of the early episode. This time SY rejected him, although she was shown to still have feelings for him.  Next episode will be an extension of them going back and forth in a relationship, plus a scheme of HS to bring down both.

     

    Someone said in this forum before that they wanted to figure out whom SY really loves. She loves JH, no doubt here. Now the more meaningful question to ask is whom JH really loves.

    Appreciate your different opinion which I assume based on your experience with her past projects. However, as someone who saw her for the first time, I was disappointed with her acting in this show. She might have been great in the past and could potentially nail some roles in the future, but her role as HS is a failure in my opinion.

     

    We have talked about who is to blame for the terrible portrayal of HS quite a lot before. The writer and directors have been called out before the actress herself because we know she could only play according to the script and the director's guidance. Surely the script isn't great, but the character HS has been given the time to shine for her revenge after being a doormat for the first 30-ish eps. To be fair, I don't think HS got a bad development for the second half of the show - she's a typical good girl in Kdrama and whenever you want to criticize her, you have to remind yourself that she is the kindest person in the show and only wants to pay back the people who wronged her.

     

    So, the character (and hence the writer) is not a problem. What about the director? If you have pointed out the director is at fault, I'm sorry but that means someone's acting is problematic. It is reasonable to say the director has been too lenient with the actress who plays HS, given the time constraint, budget or whatever reason there could have been. In this sense, the director is partly to blame. But again, the core of the problem is still the actress as at the end of the day, she has to teach herself how to act rather than relying on the director. 

     

    I think everyone is aware GoW is a daily drama and so has settled for less and the fact that some of us are still watching till now means that we choose to focus on something else that is more interesting rather than how she put us off. There are just some scenes where we couldn't stand her acting any longer, especially when she did the eye acrobats or wide eyed. For me, even if she impressed me before in some shows, I would still shake my head then and wish she could practice more for future projects.

    Knowing that the results would crush JH, you would think YK would provide some protection. No, the writer has been portraying her as a master instigator, but who is he fooling?

    Honestly I have no idea now. Things change so quickly in this show, but somehow go back to square one. The lack of consistency in character development is so obvious.

     

    So, YK suddenly asked SY to expose JH's identity although she tried her best to hide it ?!

    SY asked JH to reunite but in ep 91 JH said she didn't agree to come back to him. Another big question mark.

     

    As much as I love the dynamic between SY and JH, the way they try to destroy and pacify each other at the same time isn't going anywhere. It rather makes the bad guy gang weaker than the revenge team and their downfall will be pretty much the result of back-stabbing each other.

    This drama doesn't see kidnapping as a crime. We got several kidnappings so far and none of them were counted as crimes - probably because the good guys also did kidnap JH so they just give it a pass?

    Like I said before, I'd rather wait for SY to expose JH rather than YK. Looks like it's coming soon after JH betrayed her in ep 90. JH wanted to get rid of her real quick by putting her behind bars.

    Agreed - I believe the appearance of Joo's real daughter will be a departure from the current storyline and it doesn't help solve any problems. 

     

    YK definitely has known Ma killed her husband for a while. From memory I think she told either HS or SY (when she thought SY was real her daughter) about this.

    Ah yes, sorry I was confused who you were referring to. Unfortunately An is still having the protection of JH so she won't go to jail until her boss falls down. I hope Ko will bring her down and teach her some lessons.

    We had a similar discussion about this before but with SY. My idea still holds this time though. Sun-Mi can't be Joo's real daughter as it requires lots of sound explanation as why she was in the orphanage but not Australia. Also, the drama didn't hint about another birth secret. I feel like if if there is one more it would be too much. All 5 main characters have birth secrets or something similar, except Ma.

    Possibly no as a kumbaya ending is still on the cards. She is still attached to YK to a certain extent while showing resentment and acting impulsively in front of JH.

    When she was kidnapped, An slapped her. The writer does not understand women. The first thing a woman would do is to kick An silly when released. But she just kept the air of superiority and gentility while HS used to keep a sneer on her face and those eyes!! They are obviously related. :rolleyes:

    An has been in and out of prison so far - She won't be sentenced as long as JH is the Chairman. But I agree YK is getting very passive with her revenge and so-called protection of HS. At one point I wonder what she would do if JH didn't step over Ma as she wanted. It's like going back to square one as she will need to take down JH first and then tackle Ma herself.

     

    HS - what can I say... Her abduction in the preview looks somewhat hilarious to me because of the actress's expression. It seems like she didn't even make an effort to escape :surprisedwut:

     

    I particularly look forward to seeing how JH will react to SY's request of getting back together. Most people predict that he will try to kill her, but we shouldn't forget no one dies when being killed for the first time in this show LOL. I'm surprised the preview for the next episode doesn't show any of their scenes.

    The reason I could think of is SY thought JH is MA real grandson and that' s  why she wants to get back  to him because SY is another greedy lady who wants POWER in CheoHa.   However, if JH is fake, I doubt she wants him back.

     

     

    I actually see it as a way for her to make him regret the divorce. But provoking him like that is a risky move.
