  1. From what I can see, Hye Jun and Jeong Ha are dealing with things around them based on their outlook on life. And this causes strain in their relationship because they perceive things differently. For Hye Jun, he wants to protect the people he loves by not imposing on them his troubles. He thinks he is shielding them from worries and he tries to solve things on his own. He has been doing that ever since he was a model. He has not bothered his family with his troubles. The problem with this is that, now that he is a big celebrity, every detail about his life is an open book for everyone.

For Jeong Ha, she believes that people share their burdens with the ones they love. This is in line with her character trait of helping people. She has a compassionate heart. And so helping people is in her nature and naturally she will do more of that for the person she loves most.

As Hye Jun tries to solve matters on his own, Jeong Ha also tries to do the same by almost giving that confession in her vlog channel.

Jeong Ha says she doesn’t want to bother Hye Jun and she’s waiting for Hye Jun to share his burdens with her. So it’s as if they are both walking on the same path but in the opposite direction.

I have no doubt as to their feelings for one another. I see how much they love and care for each other. It is just that circumstances happened and are getting in the way. And to add to that, the manner in which they deal with problems are different. So it’s only a matter of how they navigate through this difference so that they will be on the same page again.

Hae Hyo and Jeong Ha will not be together, sorry to say, I do not think this will happen. I honestly think Jeong Ha was merely being polite by inviting him to her house. When she told him “Come in”, it was of a friendly tone, nothing else. It looked like she was more surprised by the way Hae Hyo was suddenly looking at her.

    Spoiler

To be honest, Hae Hyo looked like a creepy predator in that scene. Jeong Ha treats him like a friend, almost like a brother, and he turns into something else. I have a true story with a friend of mine who experienced this and it was not very pleasant. Sad to say, it caused a rift in their friendships that was hard to undo because of what that guy did.  :fear:

As for the most awaited bedroom scene, my guess is it will be shown later when Hye Jun and Jeong Ha reconcile after a misunderstanding. But that’s just my guess, so I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Though I still predict a happy ending for our OTP because we have these: :coolshades:

I don’t remember seeing a drama where both couple gave each other a back hug. We all know what this means, right?:heart4:

  2. I’ve watched the latest episodes and there’s so many things going on in the show but I’ll focus on our OTP and Hae Hyo for now.

Somehow, every couple will have to go through some sort of "test" to see how strong their bond is. It's understandable how HJ celebrity status will put a strain on his relationships as his work schedules start piling up. Both HJ and JH just have to learn how to navigate through the hurdles. I like the scene where HJ tells JH he loves her. And she says she loves him back. That should have have some significance for both of them down the road.

    C6932-DC7-3668-4-C77-B763-0-D63-D5-CD131

I admit it's disappointing to see how HH character is turning out. His feelings for JH is making him do all the wrong moves. He's being a lousy, two-faced friend because of it. It’s important to note that HJ trusts him to be with JH. But HH is violating that trust by being disrespectful. If he's really a good friend, he would not take advantage of JH and her kindness. A good man would not allow his feelings for a woman to dictate his actions so badly. He did that first when he lost the Rookie award. He acted pitiful and took advantage of JH kindness then.

Now by giving her a ride home he's doing a good friend deed. He’s making sure she’s safely home. A good friend would offer the umbrella and the ride home without going up to the girl's house. Even if he was invited (most likely out of politeness by JH). I didn’t see anything that JH did to give him the impression that she likes him more than a friend. In fact, most of their conversations were about HJ. Maybe JH feels vulnerable and distant from HJ at that moment but that’s all the more reason for HH to stay away.

There's no excuse for a character that crosses the line. He knows HJ and JH are in a relationship and by deliberately pursuing JH, it just makes HH very disrespectful of HJ and JH.

If HH confesses his feelings and create more tension in the couple’s relationship, that will take the last semblance of decency from his character. I hope he doesn't go that far.

He might want to ask himself this, if the roles were reversed, would HH want his male best friend to behave this way with his girlfriend too?

Btw I love how he so clearly drew the line between himself and Ji-A....that's the way to just clearly respectfully reject a clingy ex-gf.

    THIS!! I agree 100% chingu.
Hye Jun’s no nonsense rejection of Ji-A was the only way to do it. She would have persisted and continued to annoy Hye Jun if he showed any kind of empathy towards her.

Curious to know what kind of plant is Hye Hun holding. The name is China Doll Plant:mrgreen:

That’s such a cute name for a plant. It fits well as a description for Jeong Ha - she is so cute she is like a doll sometimes when I look at her.

Twitter has the main haven in discussion of the drama. Fans want their emotions to know by the world and get trended.

    Spoiler

Aaaaah so this explains it then. I see people prefer to use Twitter or IG for this purpose. So the trend on social media plus the high ratings domestically means it is doing well. Would it be safe to assume that the ratings on Netflix is a gauge for international audience as well? I guess having active discussions in a forum nowadays is not really an indication of whether one likes a show or not :)

Personally, just like what @Sakurafairy said, I find Soompi to be a more comfortable haven for discussion than the other sites. I think it’s the vibe of the people here. And I also like that we have a curated info of the drama here. It’s my go-to site for everything related to K dramas.

I love the new OST  reminds me of our sweet OTP

  5. @gumtaekTrue. Hye Jun was treated unfairly by his dad. It takes a mature outlook and a lot of courage to admit one’s mistake and ask for forgiveness.

I had the same reaction on the sageuk scenes. I do hope there will be a collaboration between PD Ahn and Bo Gum when he returns from military.

    Spoiler

PD Ahn is on my radar now (His work in Memories of the Alhambra was good too).

@Thirtysvn37 it’s understandable as sometimes the older generation knows how tough it is out there. Being a celebrity is “seasonal” in a sense. Once they pass a certain age, they need to have built a solid foundation in their career to keep going as they get older.

    This thought came to mind:

    Spoiler

The storyline has similar “jealous” “antis” attacking Hye Joon now that he is a top star. Must be the price of being popular.

I wonder who is this uninvited person who will come to Sa Hye Jun's aid? Any guess?

I wonder if it will be one of Hye Jun’s sunbae, someone who’s respectable and admired in the industry who can squash all doubts about Hye Jun’s character and reputation.

The writer has a knack for incorporating surprises into the drama so I’m looking forward to finding out what else is in store.

One of my wishlist would be a reconciliation between Hye Jun and his dad. Their relationship is that of a typical patriarchal family but I have no doubt he was just as proud and happy for Hye Jun’s success. He just doesn’t know how to express it outwardly. It would be fun if he could overcome that and maybe be one of the members of “Sa Hye Jun All The Way” fan club :cutekitty:

how is the show doing domestically in korean market?

It is doing well ratings-wise, steadily holding its numbers and even rising in the latest episode.

  7. @gumtaek This scene actually showed a lot of depth for me because for one, we get to see Hae Hyo as a friend for Hye Jun when he defended him. When he said that it’s hard to be motivated during hardship, he was actually describing what it means to not give up when things get tough. Having known Hye Jun the longest, he knows how and what Hye Jun had to do to deal to cope with his financial issues. Something which Hae Hyo didn’t have to struggle with given his “gold/silver spoon” status. I sense a little discomfort in Hae Hyo’s part as being with privilege means people thought he (or his family) probably had the right connections that aided him in his success. And he only had to put in little effort to that success.

Learning about Park Do Ha’s background similar to Hye Jun is a little surprising. And I’m more surprised at his hesitation of being connected or associated with Hye Jun because of it. That’s just so wrong and twisted, as Hae Hyo said. For me, this reveals a stark contrast between Park Do Ha and Hye Jun’s road to stardom. While both come from the same background, the methods they both used in gaining success are not guided by the same principles.

I think it is probably this difference between Do Ha and Hye Jun that will explain how one star falls and the other rises.

I just hope, just like how good Hyejun described CJ in front of his brother is the same way the drama would handle it. A chingu here said this also. I mean, he didn't mean any harm to Hyejun. He just felt the magic spell of love. Turning back all their scenes from episode 1-10, there are no particular instances that he meant harm to Hyejun. The only one I remember is when he said "you will never make it here" after the last rejection.

I agree. I also didn’t see any indication of Charlie Jung wanting to hurt Hye Jun. He has been helpful to Hye Jun even after he was rejected. He even gave bonus incentive for his final model work. I’m certain he knows about Hye Jun’s financial background and the part-time jobs he had to do to make ends meet. If anything, he’s only being human for having feelings for Hye Jun.

The ones who are vindictive are Tae Soo and Jin Ju. Wasn’t it Tae Soo who started the rumor? It’s his area of expertise after all. He knows how to manipulate the media or internet to his client’s advantage. I hope Hae Hyo would start thinking about cutting ties with Park Do Ha and Tae Soo. People like them are like trash that even if you cover it, sooner or later, the smell would still come out. It’s not surprising that Park Do Ha career will slow down. For Hae Hyo, I think it might be a better idea if he joins Jjampong Min Jae instead. I’m still hopeful of their friendship being intact at the end.

  9. All right, that was an unexpected ending. I’m liking how the writer just pulled the rug under and doesn’t shy away from controversial issues that celebrities have to deal with. I hope with Hye Jun’s character as someone with principles, that “scandal” will be dealt with in a sensitive manner.

I think on the flip side, the more important issue is with Hae Hyo and his inability to cope with the pressures in his career. Clearly, he can’t keep relying on Jeong Ha to be by his side when he’s feeling down or stressed. I hope someone, preferably his parents, would notice what he’s going through and be able to help him before things get out of control. But they’re so overbearing and controlling over him, they seem to be adding to the pressure rather than help him cope with it.

From the way things are going with Hye Jun and Jeong Ha, I still don’t see what could be the cause of their break up (should there be one). They seem more mature than most couples. They’re both grounded and very capable of handling tough issues. They don’t seem like the kind of people to let petty and trivial matters get in their way. One of the things I like about them is the trust they have in one another. So I hope the writer doesn’t make a big deal of Hae Hyo and Ji-A. I think maybe a misunderstanding may occur because of this. But it’s not something that Hye Jun and Jeong Ha can’t resolve.

I like the way Geong Jun has turned into a protective brother for Hye Jun. I hope Hye Jun’s dad will do the same transformation.
