and welcome to the new yuzhou fan @Makoe , its nice to see there are new people joining the fandom.
You can check out Bummie blog for all kinds of Yuzhou updates, both old and new at Yuzhousky . Bummie is a real treasure
The day-to-day Yuzhou "business" is happening mostly on Instagram. I am not much active there as I am more on Weibo platform, but from the accounts, you can start with Bearology or go through the yuzhou/jy/zz/addicted hashtags and found accounts you like. There are also active accounts on Twitter and Facebook, but at the moment I am not active there at all, so cant give you pointers. Maybe somebody else can help with that.
Re current situation of BL dramas in China. There are many original BL novels that are getting adapted to dramas, but to be able to be broadcasted they need to cut all the BL stuff. At the same time you can find new Asian BLs dramas being made and broadcasted by WeTV, which is the international branch of Chinese Tencent company.
I personally dont see much changes to happen in the near future in China, but the most important is that both JY and ZZ are on the rise and their careers are flourishing.
ZZ still hasnt got his big break (meaning in the after-Addicted era), because eventhough his previous drama were quite well-received he still hasnt experienced the "big boom" that would make him "visible" to the public audience. JY got that wider recognition by first Operation Red Sea movie and then as Li Fei in The Thunder drama. Thunder has been pretty much on all the TV stations in China, some even more than once (like national CCTV) and I just saw a recent post that Thunder will be released on DVD in Japan.
The next big "hopeful" for ZZ is his historical drama Datang Mingyue (I dont think it got an English name yet). Based on the rumors the broadcast should start as soon as 27th January, but its NOT OFFICIAL, so please keep open mind, it can change as always, but lets keep fingers crossed.
JY Dear Military Uniform has been in the status of about-to-be-broadcasted since end of last year, the latest info (also unofficial) puts it at the beginning of February.
ZZ also successfully finished filming City of Stream drama from the republican era on 15th January, which visually, based on what the drama side has been releasing, looks also very promising.

For the next ZZ and JY projects, nothing definite yet. JY has finished filming his latest drama in mid-January and since then there are new dramas and movies rumors flying left and right everyday. So lets wait whats gonna stick in the end.
For ZZ, I havent heard anything, but ZZ schedule is quite packed with activities, so its not like ZZ got nothing to do
Meanwhile JY has recorded for Spring Festival (Chinese New Year) Gala for Beijing TV, looking happy in the yesterday's interview, cr. 剧淘APP
SpoilerJY also made a recording for his home province Liaoning TV.
ZZ should be heading for Beijing TV Spring Festival Gala on 25th, but its not official, everybody is guessing its Beijing TV cos ZZ studio schedule only said "TV" without specifying which TV station. BIG fingers crossed we get both Yuzhou on the same program
ZZ already recorded for Shandong TV in Qingdao. That was quite funny because on 16th JY flew FROM Qingdao to Shenyang while on 17th ZZ flew TO Qingdao from Shanghai.Eventhough it was a close "miss", no biggie as both Yuzhou were in Shanghai as ZZ returned to Shanghai on 19th and JY didnt leave Shanghai until 21st.

Happy New Year everybody!
Lets hope 2021 will bring more happiness and less worries to all of us
Great news to begin with. ZZ Dear Mayang Street has started the upload on Youtube with Eng subs.

SpoilerI would say both quite good results. These days, pretty much anything above 5 is a relative success.
End of the year brought two extra Yuzhou livestreams, JY with Viya for Nivea on 26th December and ZZ for Watson's Makeup Miracle on 29th December.
ZZ livestream was rather brief, he just logged in from Hengdian where he has been filming City of Streamer for the last couple of months. The two girls did all the lipstick, makeup selling before and after. There was also a lottery for ZZ-related products, some posters, stickers, a special photo album. Usually they ask fans to write some specific phrase in the comment, then they take a screenshot and who got captured, they get the prize.

SpoilerGirls were showing ZZ stickers, asking him if he has seen them before. ZZ said he hasnt
They also said that ZZ has many cute nicknames given to him by his fans, like Xu Jiu Jiu ("jiu" is the chirp sound that a bird makes) or Xi Wa Zi. Thats a particularly funny one. Its a play on ZZ name's initials X-W-Z and it means "Wash Sock(s)".
The most funny thing is that these nicknames are yuzhou cpf's nicknames
Correspondingly to ZZ Wash Socks nick, JY got Hua Jiao You, which means "Sichuan pepper oil".
Once again we saw ZZ in his outfit and hairstyle for City of Streamer. Seems the drama is not that "secretive" when it comes to spoiling some minor things, they even regularly update their weibo official account with new photos and clips, which is definitely nice.
Compared for instance to JY latest drama, which they dont even dare to officially announce the cast names.JY Viya livestream was more fun than the actual product selling, it was rather unexpected, but why not.
Ms.Viya (she did a livestream for charity with ZZ before) prepared with Nivea and JY team quite many interesting activities and JY seemed to enjoy himself.

SpoilerI tried to find if anybody posted the full livestream on Youtube to give few notes about what was going on there, but didnt manage to find any. Maybe everybody busy with Christmas and New Year celebrations. I will check later again.
For New Year's Eve, we got JY on CCTV (pre-recorded) and then live on DongFang TV (if no change there, JY Lucky to Meet You drama should be broadcasted there, eventually) and ZZ on JiangSu TV that he especially flew to Macao for.
For once, it was easy to keep an eye on both livestreams as the online platforms were showing them all in one place and it was easy to switch from one to another. Even included program lineup list.

SpoilerThere is JY DongFang channel and right next to it ZZ JiangSu channel. The best thing about the Jiangsu TV New Year program was that the theme was "Whale", I kid you not
On top of that, ZZ traveled to Xinjiang province in September to shoot for a travel program (at that occasion ZZ also filmed the Welcome to this world MV). Now the travel program has just been officially announced, ZZ episode will be representing Karamay city and look at what ZZ got next to the city name ( 克拉玛依 in Chinese) on the official poster...

SpoilerThe program will start airing on 5th January on Youku and apart from Karmay there will be other cities presented by other ppl, so lets see which episode will be ZZ.
Unfortunately, unlike Tencent and iQIYI, Youku doesnt have international app that comes with subs, so lets see if we get lucky or not.
So, while ZZ has been "whaling" around, guess who felt bit "cat-like"

I have been bit more busy, but still following Yuzhou around
And boy, are JY and ZZ "on fire"!
1. ZZ Mayang Street premiere in October.
As far as I know the episodes are being uploaded on Youku youtube channel, but so far no subs
One Yuzhou fun "fact": as the drama is taking place is 1980s in Guangdong province and that ZZ character Ou Xiaojian is an undercover cop, cpfs say he is actually LI Fei's father (Li Fei is JY character in the Thunder drama)

SpoilerAt the occasion of the drama premiere ZZ held a livestream. Originally it was supposed to start before the drama broadcast on that day but was delayed, so many zz fans watched zz live instead of the drama. But ZZ livestreams are always fun and worth to watch.

Another successful livestream was ZZ online selling event for JD (JD is a big online platform and this event was for their "online supermarket" account). ZZ spent almost 4 hours there, which is really a lot of work!
It was fun, if I have some time later, I will post some screenshots of ZZ.
The reason I am saying this is cos ZZ showed up in a brand new BAPE Pikachu hoodie. It doesnt get any more yellow than that

SpoilerZZ has a history with a full-yellow Pikachu sweater that recently has been showing up at JY events.
First it was at JY FIla activity in Beijing on 16th October where one of the cpfs was wearing it and made it to the group photo with JY (i cannot find a good pic, i only have a very low quality screenshot from the livestream). And then showed up at Oversize Love road show event in Beijing on 27th October. This time is was a cpf male fan, who got picked to ask a question to JY

3. JY Oversize Love film premiere
Finally after Wild Grass movie we got to see the Alice movie and JY Han Bing character.
I went for a movie organized by our local cpf group, which is always fun as we dont need to be all silent and can go oooh and wooow anytime we want (just wondering what the ppl who pass by our cinema hall are thinking if they hear us
)

SpoilerThe movie is funny but gets bit "darker" with few emotional scenes both by JY and Guan Xiaotong.
Good news! JY shows up on screen just a couple of minutes into the movie (might now seem like a big deal, but those who have seen Wild Grass know what im talking about

The most fun part for me what when all three main characters are in the sceens together - Han Bing the Music Guru, Alice the Princess from Wonderland, and Chris the Superstar.
I dont think that is any spoiler to say that Han Bing secretly likes Alice, while Alice is trying to get closer to Chris. Han Bing is sabotaging their dates and any time they spend together working. So there are tons of meaningful looks and glances between Han Bing and Alice and then Han Bing and Chris
The movie has english subs, so i think they were planning to release internationally. Hopefully when the situation is better and overseas cinemas open again, the movie can be released. If not, then definitely next year Tokyo International Film Festival is waiting
(since JY Operation Red Sea, all JY movies are screened there as part of special China Week segment. This year on top of JY movies, ZZ Rookies movie was added to the list
)
4. JY Something Just Like This drama premiere
This is brand new info. JY new drama shall start broadcast on iQIYI on 8th November. Previously it was knows as "We Are Young".

SpoilerHopefully the drama will be released on the international version of iQIYI app with eng subs. I will check once the drama is out. Recently both WeTV (tencent) and iQIYI dramas are released in sync with their Chinese releases and have subs from the very beginning, so good luck to us!

Love Designer has finished the broadcast. It was bit strange because suddenly it was not 45 episodes, but 48, some said 50, 52. In the end Hunan TV "stretched" it to 51 episodes. I say stretch because the "big" finale had only 20mins which was followed immediately by a new drama ep1 & 2. "Immediately" as they didnt even have time to show ending credits for Love Designer
Well, it was not such a big deal really, because JY had a Dior livestream planned and he appeared right after the drama has finished

Apart from that we had more eps of ZZ Living alone show (ZZ decided to go alone for a bit of traveling. I didnt have time to make any screenshots yet to post, as they are so many things to watch!)
And also Mango TV released ZZ part in Zhang Dada "Hi! Relax" show
Its almost 1 hour and really hope somebody can properly translate as ZZ is talking lots of personal stuff that he normally doesnt say.
SpoilerI had time to only watch once, so just few snippets. And please be aware I am loosely paraphrasing here only.
ZZ talks about music, that he loves music but doesnt want to be his "daily work" so to speak. Work is acting for him and thats why he decided to go study acting at university, not music. He talks about his lowest time ever when he went from being super famous to suddenly nobody wanting to give him any work, which lasted about a year. Addicted is not specifically mentioned but its implied. Dada asked ZZ if he had cried back then. ZZ said he hadnt cried because what use is in crying. And that even when his friends asked how he was doing, he would say he is fine. During the "off" time, ZZ devoted himself to his music.
ZZ also said he wishes his dramas to be released this year, that so far he hasnt got any "real works" out yet. After the one-on-talk, they are joined by a music band and they talk together about music and other stuff. ZZ also mentions his family, his grandma and how important is family is to him. They all play together for bit, including ZZ guitar solo. Awesome!
There is a part of gifts giving between ZZ and Dada and ZZ gets some more Pikachu stuff for his ever-increasing collection!
Dada asked if ZZ really really likes pikachu and ZZ said he really does (no faking ). In Have Some Fun show zz said one of the important thing about pikachu is thats it yellow color, so when JY has just changed his user avatar on weibo, everybody called the background color "Pikachu yellow" it looks like this (see spoiler, cr. JY weibo)

The avatar is a play on words and as JY studio posted, JY had a fun with it and had many different versions (all on WHITE stick-on notes, so the yellow was completely deliberate). JY previous weibo avatar was related to Love Designer and fans were bombarding JY to change it since he has posted the "good bye" message to Song Lin. So as usual, in the middle of the night, JY has obliged
So the fans "request" was "new avatar" which in Chinese is 新头像 xin tou xiang. The first published version had words "xin tou" and elephant instead of "xiang". The pronunciation is the same and characters are almost the same ( 象 instead of 像).
Then JY took away the elephant and replaced "xin" ("new") with the heart sticker because "heart" it is the same pronunciation (different characters).
JY can be so amusing

Hi everybody!
Time flies and we are up to episode 34 for Love Designer. One more week before the big finale.

On 7th June, there was a live activity to support Chinese farmers organized by Hunan TV.
JY was the "ambassador" for a sticky rice cake. He was up against Ayunga (singer that participated with ZZ in Our Songs show).
First they performed a song together (see spoiler, all screenshots from Hunan TV)
I feel like JY and Ayunga stylists had a talk together cos both are wearing the loose suit top and oversized pants
For the record, JY should be couple of cm taller than Ayunga
Funny thing, recently JY has been insisting that he is "only" 186cm (as opposed to his official 187cm). He mentioned it during the Peugeot livestream and then again in a recent interview. CPFs dig out some old event when ZZ said himself that JY is 186cm tall. So....

SpoilerJY Happy Camp new episode broadcasted last Saturday, but so far there are no eng subs on YT, it will probably take couple of more days. JY was his usual combination of cool and silly, so lots to look forward to.

ZZ interactions with PengPeng (his bf of many years) are so hilarious.

The first is from the segment where they go to the village to enjoy the tradition of spraying water to celebrate the new year (same as Thailand new year). The water is to bring blessing. Of course, some traditional outfits were prepared as well.

Another segment was working in the field to chop some sugar canes. It was hot and very hard work to do without the modern technology. Sorry about the screenshot, thats the best I manage to take. ZZ was moving too fast
SpoilerJY has also participated as a special guest in the Supernova Games (celebrity sports games) on a basketball team and recorded an episode of Go Fridge with Jackson Wang, so there is more to come! and ZZ has some more episodes of his living alone Have Some Fun show to be broadcasted throughout June. June is awesome!
On the filming side, ZZ keeps filming his historical costume drama and as JY has wrapped up Dear Uniform drama, everybody is waiting for the official announcement of his next project. Rumors are hinting at a movie, so fingers crossed!!

Hello everybody!
What a busy Yuzhou week.
Lets start with JY Peugeot livestream on 20th May. First livestream of JY after a very long time. There was tons of excitement.
The only "problem" was that livestream started at 20:08 China time and Love Designer started at 20:00 on Hunan TV
Of course livestream triumphs TV but JY needs the TV views too, so I was watching simultaneously. One device on speaker, second via earbuds. Also tried to contribute to the live chat, so I pretty much had no idea what JY was talking about. Too many things happening at the same time There were more livestream sources, one via Peugeot weibo, another on TiktTok app, I went over to Taobao livestream app because the quality of sound and picture was the best for me.

SpoilerFirst was JY talking at the table, then moved to the car for some professional introduction. Not sure I understood correctly, but I think JY was saying that its good the seats are not fully leather/pvc because the butt doesnt get hot/uncomfortable
What I didnt know that TikTok stream had a lottery as well, so fans could get JY posters, some photos and even models of the car. Aaaaah, JY poster would have been nice
JY outfit is awesome cos not only JY doesnt usually wear bright colors, but he is wearing whats called "Universe" necklace and pair of Jimmy Choos that cpfs discovered at ZZ shoes cabinet in his variety show

ZZ second episode of his living alone Have Some Fun show was released on Thursday and ZZ has not disappointed
In this episode, ZZ is having some "cat time". His friend's place is being cleaned/disinfected, so he asked ZZ to take care of his cat for two days. The cat is afraid of the new place and doesnt want to play with ZZ initially. Doesnt want to drink or eat either. But the whole episode ends with ZZ having a nap with the cat on his couch, so all is good.

So the other guests thought ZZ might have a female visitor. Upon seeing the "little baby", the MC lady said calling a guy "little baby" is completely unacceptable for her
4. ZZ friend brought over lots of cat supplies including the cat food. ZZ sniffed it and said it smells like fish. His friend said: "Try it, it tastes pretty good." So ZZ did....

JY Love Designer drama. We are up to episode 7 in China.
For international fans, the episodes are broadcasted with English subs on WeTV, iQiyi and Viki. So depending on the country, try what works for you.
I personally watch on WeTV cos the episodes are available for free the next day after broadcast in China.
If you have VPN, I recommend Thailand, cos then its not only Love Designer with eng subs, but also Addicted Full version and even ZZ My Girlfriend drama
In my opinion, based the episodes I have watched so far, the drama has potential that has not been fully realized yet and I can only hope it will get there as we proceed. It is "idol drama" in the sense that everybody needs to look perfect all the time, perfect hair, perfect makeup and dolled up to the nines, while I like when the characters can get messy, dirty. More gritty in general.
But as it is, looks like I need to "live with" JY looking hot and perfect
JY thoroughly used his own wardrobe, there are many of his signature Dior pieces which I like very much. There is also lots of Common Gender tops, some Dsquared2 jumpers and our favorite Gentle Monster sun glasses
JY expression range has "exploded" here, he is making so many different both smaller and bigger facial expression, its really joy to watch and I think its captivating for the general audience as well.
Some fans start "suspecting" some of the lines are actually JY own's, so as my friend told me, some ppl find the drama bit old-fashioned and outdated, but they enjoy JY's stand up comedy parts
Miss first female actress, I dont really want to go there, but in my opinion her acting is better than Victoria's in Love Knot but nowhere close to Bridgette in My Girlfriend. I do skip some parts, in particular those many dinners of Zhou Fang (FL character) with her parents. Her mother's stereotypical nagging is just not my thing and thats got nothing to do with acting performance.
I think Song Ling (JY character) and his best friend are nice, as well as SL with his younger sister.
The second male lead, who is the love interest of the second female lead, the bestie of Zhou Fang, is quite funny. He is like a puppy that is trying to make happy his master, in this case his beloved. Its hilarious when they use him as a muscle when needed, both in SL company where he works, as well as when he is helping ZF.
Funny scene, episode 6, its Song Lin and Zhou Fang bickering (those scenes are most funny because SL likes to "bully" ZF and she is annoyed by him and shows it to him)

SpoilerThe premise is that SL happened to see ZF looking for an apartment to rent. He owns a flat in a building opposite his own flat and "tricks" ZF to move there by offering a really cheap rent. The condition is that she needs to pay the rent for a full year and if she wants to cancel the rent contract, then she gets no refund. Hello everybody!
Yuzhou is definitely back on the track with their work cos they are busy!
ZZ will show up on another show with Zhang Dada that nobody even seemed to know that ZZ had recorded (ZDD is also a friend of JY's, they knew each when JY was working as a model). Show premiere on 18th May.
Also first episode of "Have Some Fun" show broadcasted last Thursday. Apart from ZZ there are three other guests and an MC. Each guest got their own segment of living alone recorded separately, then they get together to watch each part while they discuss and comment.
ZZ is the most entertaining to watch of course
but one of the other guys had quite a good story. See spoiler.
SpoilerHe wanted to buy a small oven (looks like a microwave oven) so he walked to a store in his neighborhood. He picked a one he liked but they told him they have no stock...so he took the display product. He wanted to just pack the oven and go, but didnt want to call for a car saying he lives close, its waste to call a taxi. So the shop people helped him fix the oven on the skateboard he brought with and was pulling the oven back home on the skateboard
Anyway, back to ZZ.
We get to see his place and honestly, there is a disturbing amount of pikachu related items!

Few updates:
JY "Love Advanced Customization" (really hope they will come up with better English name. Its a mouthful and not in a good way
) finally made official announcement on 23rd April.
Unofficially the drama is to be broadcasted on Hunan TV (thats good because Hunan TV is on the most popular TV stations in China, eventhough they are mostly famous for their variety shows), online platforms iQiyi, Tencent, Youku and internationally WeTV. As of now, the D-day could be 18th May.
SpoilerThe thing is that since pretty much the start of filming the drama, there has been a big fuzz from the female actress side and her fans. For all kinds of reasons. The "favorite" topic was who is number 1 of the drama. I always thought that the definition stops at who is the first male lead and the first female lead, but in Chinese showbiz, there is an order of all actors/actresses. The first "position" also means whose name officially comes as first. Such as: drama AA, staring BB and CC. So BB is the first position and hence the "top dog".
So the female actress fans thought/wanted/claimed their idol to be the number one. On 23rd when the drama official weibo started reposting each actors/actresses posts that were introducing their respective characters, the order was very particular. According to one of the supporting actress, she was told exactly the time when she needs to post, to the very specific minute (she later deleted the post).
So, guess what, JY was the very last one, becoming the top dog
In principle, I personally dont really care much about being 1 or 2, but if the opposing party made such troubles because of that, you kinda have to feel gratification upon seeing the evidence.
However, thats not all that happened that day.
Because everybody knew the day before that the official announcement will be made by the drama, there was lots of worry among JY fans. Many were expecting things gonna turn for the worse and another wave of slander will break out. However, there was unexpected surprise. Pengpeng (ZZ's best friend) topped No.1 Weibo Hot Search because he admitted to having a girlfriend!
So whoever wanted to make fuzz & buzz or get big attention on weibo, there was no way to top Pengpeng.
We all know about certain "coincidences" in Yuzhou world that defy the very laws of statistics

As a gift there was special Peugeot brochure with JY photos. So my friend went through the Taobao process and shortly she got a call from the local Peugot seller. So without beating around the bush, she told the sales person she doesnt want to buy the car, she only wants the JY brochure
Guy said she needs to come and get the "talk" and stuff, no simple freebies. Which created bit of a dilemma for her, as the sales place is really far away from her home...

Now the schools have started opening, but still events and activities where many people would gather are not allowed, that means cinemas are closed, no concerts, no sport events. However, filming of shows, dramas and movies is back on and not only those that had stopped cos of the outbreak, now since end of March also completely new drama crews have been allowed to start filming. There are still certain conditions and safety measures that needs to be followed.
JY has been filming "Dear Uniform" drama in Changzhou (Jiangsu province, close to Shanghai) and I have found some interesting pics on Changzhou city weibo
(I looked at their weibo posts and whole March was basically just traffic accidents, flats on fire, more accidents and then Dear Uniform drama coming to town and filming )

) but its still a waiting game ZZ has officially announced he is back to work in April. His schedule posted by his studio said "filming variety show(s)". I have seen rumors about three different shows (so far) where ZZ name was mentioned. One is the program with PengPeng, but here the guests name keep jumping from ZZ to JY to ZZ...like a ping pong, so no idea.
Second show is about showing how celebrities live, which is my favourite cos that would mean peeking into ZZ "behind the scenes" life, however, at the same time i feel bit guilty cos it would mean snooping in ZZ private life, but than I tell myself ZZ would be paid for that, so it should be fine
Third rumored show is some singing reality show where ZZ is supposed to be a mentor.
Whatever ZZ is going for in reality (and here i am bit greedy and hope he would do two shows not just one
), all above mentioned broadcast in May, which is the best part For JY, latest info still the same, nothing officially confirmed, ppl say first should go out Lucky With You and I really hope April will be the month! Jiayou!

SpoilerI had time to watch just once, so I might have misunderstood some, so if i made any mistakes, sorry about that. I also focus on ZZ part mostly and its still in a rather brief way, but I hope it helps everybody to watch the episode and enjoy ZZ better.
1. ZZ intro: come to Happy Camp to promote his new song "Rebirth". Its a rock style and hope everybody will enjoy it.
2. Game 1: guess two characters word that starts phonetically with certain letters. Split into teams by two, one is acting out the words, the other has to guess the words.
First round the letters are "SJ". when ZZ manages to get his turn, he is acting out what seems to be "kill chicken" "sha ji", but its no "s" and "j" but "sh" and "j", so its not accepted
They got one more chance, this time Wu Xin is acting out. She also makes it wrong (most of ppl had "sh" instead of "s"), finally gets a point for "song ji" - send/give chicken, but her original words were different still Well, a point given is a point scored Screenshot from YT in spoiler -> ZZ working hard on solving the chicken puzzle Wu Xin is presenting

The opposing A and B team could ask some questions when deciding on which video belongs to whom, so for ZZ video, they asked different guys to say "wan an" (good night) as zz says it in his video (his voice is distorted there) to see if it matches the video
Xie Na (the main female host) says later she thought it was ZZ's cos of the guitars that are shown in his video.
ZZ said he liked pikachu since he was a kid, that he finds pikachu very cute.
In the end, both teams guessed correctly all 5 stars.
4. Game 3: balloon bouncing. Each participant needs to get as many bounces as possible within the allocated time limit of 20 seconds. Two teams by two are competing. Again, ZZ gets to talk about his "strong" neck (this is the second most popular story of ZZ's after the shiny shoes he got for the Latin dance when he was a kid
) and he can show off his rock moves They say ZZ should have the advantage for this game thanks to his neck See spoiler for ZZ bouncing with all his might!

After ZZ finished, the host asks him how it was. ZZ says his lips/mouth are numb. That the most strain is not on the neck but on the mouth. Xie Na says that zz lips after the game really got puffy.

ZZ managed 80 bounces. The second dude got 59, the third dude 78. The fourth is zz teammate and cos he made 79, their team won
5. Game 4 (no ZZ in this game): goal is to get through/out of the swimming ring without using hands in the shortest time possible. The third guy is bit more chubby compared to the others, therefore they gave him a bigger ring cos he would get stuck in the first which was smaller
6. Game 5 (no ZZ in this game): kinda "swimming" game. had to "swim" from one side to the other and back while on the back in the shortest time possible.
7. Game 6: "Just Beat It" segment, game is called (literal translation) "Cha-cha Hammer" (cha-cha as the dance). Two teams competing against each other, one part of the team are calling out the words, second part of the team is on the "attack" position with the hammer. they are calling out the words in turn one by one from each team, meanwhile the platform the attack ppl are sitting on is moving left and right, depending who is waiting to call out the word. when they dont have any more correct words, the opposing attack team can get close enough to knock them them down using the hammers. Obviously, if they got knocked down, they lose the round. (the game description is bit sloppy, but when you see it, it does make sense
)

The words they have to call out are all about different radicals. Radicals are part of Chinese characters that carry certain meaning and are common in many words. In each round they have to call a word consisting of two characters and both characters contain the particular radical in question.
Round 1: in this round, they should say two characters word that both contain 口 radical ("kou" means "mouth" in Chinese). [e.g. 哈 "ha" is the word used as "hahaha" laugh interjection. the left part of the character use kou radical].
ZZ is calling out the answers and unfortunately, the first round ZZ team lost.

Hello everybody!
Hope everybody is doing well. Things are troublesome here in China, lets hope it gets better again soon
SpoilerAs you have probably heard already, ZZ has been out of country for the spring holidays and as far as i know still havent managed to come back as there are no flights. JY drama "Dear Uniform" has stopped filming but seems the crew is on stand-by as their official weibo account posted on Valentine's day a video how the crew is doing in Changzhou after the filming was put on hold. I guess they get back to work as soon as they are permitted.
JY has appeared in a video in support of Wuhan where he says he is in Jiangsu province, so he either stayed in Changzhou as well, or some cpfs were saying he might have gone to nearby Wuxi. He also posted the 90kg gym photo, so it looks like he could be staying in a hotel, which is not such a bad thing. There are way less ppl as nobody is traveling really and hotel has all the amenities like food and gym.
JY Wild Grass premiere has been postponed as all cinemas have been closed for the time being. There has been no official info about Alice movie, which is supposed to be released on 6th of March, but i guess its a waiting game for now.
JY had the small cameo in "Lost in Russia" movie, which was scheduled to premiere on the Chinese New Year. So instead the movie was temporarily made available to watch for free on the same day on Tiktok and few other platforms. I have started watching right after midnight and fortunately JY part was around 7min in, because its a long movie and i couldnt stay awake till the very end

Happy New Year everybody!
2020 it is and soon its gonna be the year of Mouse or Rat (whichever you prefer).
Yuzhou has been busy the last couple of months (as always), so just few major highlights.
1. JY finally finished filming Love Advanced Customization with Miss Dilireba (which had not stopped the hungry wolves and the gossip mongers of the world wide web from spreading the lies and slander
) and moved to a new filming crew of "My Dear Uniform", where his co-star is Li Qin (who seemed to be rather widely accepted by the yuzhou fans).

Spoiler2. ZZ has been on a bit break from filming, which means he was all around the place recording for the new year, chinese new year programs and threw in couple of livestreams for good measure. the most fun was ZZ and his dumplings-making livestream on 12th January via Tiktok app
I always say that ZZ has a high entertainment value and this stream totally proved it. Its not easy to livestream by himself for more than one hour and make it fun and interesting to watch. Sure, there were couple of questions to anwer and ZZ was making dumplings as the main activity, but still, its not like ZZ could have rehearsed much. Its just 100% ZZ
For me, the most funny was ZZ giving names to his four dumplings. Especially when he called them to jump into the water to boil as if they were going for a swim
JY also supplied us with a cooking theme show (trans. "A table of New Year's Eve Dinner") where he showed us more of his hometown special dishes, talked bit about himself and how he was spending new year holidays when he was a kid and cooked some dishes himself, including the fried yellow croaker (spicy fried fish dish).

Another nice hit by ZZ. After the crayfish burger (surprisingly spicy considering ZZ himself cannot eat much spicy food

4. My own highlight of end of the year was definitely getting to meet ZZ in Chengdu for the 2021 Universiade press con on 30th December.
What a story! What an event!
SpoilerIt was (as usual) very last moment, originally planned on 26th December but rescheduled later on to 30th. The funny thing was that there were two venues and nobody knew for sure which one its gonna be, it kinda went back and forth for couple of days. In the end it was a library at one of the local universities.
ZZ flight was schedule to land around 11:30am, so enough time to pick up ZZ at the airport. Local CPF group made even big banner (considering very little time to prepare) and small hand banners and there were really lots of us waiting for ZZ at the airport at the arrival exit no.4 (including airport security)
Well, ZZ went via exit no.5 and totally missed the welcoming party
What I heard there was one cpf who met ZZ accidentally because she got lost and couldnt find the right exit, while ZZ got bit lost himself as well and took the wrong exit.
As he hopped on the van quickly, we saw nothing
As they say, there is no time like now, so after the miss, we hopped on a taxi and chased ZZ to the library.
Once we arrived, the difficult part was that there were two entrances to the library ready, north one and south one. Obviously on the opposite sides and the south one was on the second floor. So if we pick the wrong entrance, there is no chance to run to the other one in time to see ZZ.
me and my friend decided to wait at the north one, which said "guests rest area". there were the security guys waiting with us, so we thought we are kinda legit. wrong. ZZ took the south one
and once again i saw nothing. Well, i saw his van coming in but at that time i didnt know its ZZ's van So we moved to the south entrance cos there was ZZ just behind two sets of glass door. When ZZ got on the stage to do his part, the security guys guarding the entrances (they didnt like us pushing our faces on the glass door to peek inside
), let us come closer, which in turn opened the first set of the automatic doors and we were staring at the "real" ZZ, albeit from afar.

SpoilerThen ZZ got off the stage and we started contemplated the "exit strategy". Again, the two entrances dilemma presented itself.
Do we take the chances that ZZ will exit the same way he came in or he goes via "guest rest area" entrance.
I decided to follow ZZ van. It was parked nearby and at least ZZ should take the came car, right?
However, not to make it easy, there were in total 4 identical looking vans parked
But still, it was the best chance I could think of.
When the press con finished, the "normal" people and guests left, but no sign of ZZ at all. After like an hour or so, some fans kinda gave up thinking ZZ must have left already, but there were no news of sighting ZZ at the airport.
Some of the vans moved and left (we watched all with close looks) and then the last van moved to the north entrance and it did look promising!
After bit more running, us and security guys as well (those guys had as bad intel as us
), to everybody's utter relief, ZZ exited via north exit. Third time is the charm indeed!See spoiler, cr. me
SpoilerZZ was really cute, waving at everybody and even once he got on the car, the window was bit open and he kept waving at us.

There are many projects for ZZ and JY in 2020, JY got two movies planned for release (Wild Grass in February and Alice in March), plus couple of dramas (still unconfirmed which should be released when) and ZZ got three dramas waiting for release (Dear Mayang Street, Midsummer Full of Hearts and Ping Pong). We gonna be busy!

Lots has been happening in Yuzhou world and I had no time to post pretty much anything about it here
1. ZZ My Girlfriend drama
After the cheesy trailer, the drama itself turns out to be very funny and many scenes and sub-plots are truly original. ZZ is delight to watch and finally (compared to Love Evolution) he can showcase way more of his acting skills. In China the release was limited to Youku platform (at least so far I havent seen any notice about a TV station picking it up), but we got international release on Viki, special broadcast in Thailand, on We TV and even Youtube channel with ENG subs (link to the first ep. in spoiler).
Spoiler2. ZZ Birthday Concert
Unfortunately, this year I havent had the chance to go myself and there was no official livestream, so it was all about cpfs on-site reporting and many were trying to run a livestream or at least sharing videos and photos. ZZ had a great selection of awesome costumes that I was bit missing last year
My friend said that at the concert ZZ said next year he will probably get bigger venue and probably Beijing again.
On the other hand, JY will not hold a fanmeeting for his birthday due to working commitments, but many were hoping for some kind of livestream. Now it looks like JY will have ECCO event in Shenyang on 30th, so lets see about that.

3. ZZ Our Songs show
After the "famous" Shake It Up dancing show last year, ZZ has returned to Dongfang TV to participate in singing show "Our Songs" (direct translation). The format loosely copy the Shake it up. We have two groups, A and B. First two episodes were group A, where there is ZZ. There was the blind pairing of the young contestants with their senior mentors/coaches, followed up by the second episode where they were singing duets. The idea seems to be pairing the "old" with the "new" in terms of music. So far, ZZ has followed his partner Mr.Fei in both song selections and style of singing, but he said he will bring more of his own style (rock) to their cooperation.
In the second episode, the first round of votes are by audience present which is grouped by age - ppl born in 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s. My friend said most of them are music professionals, rest are fans. In total 261 eligible votes. There were also additional points allocated by the opposing teams (10 point each). The result of the two rounds was that ZZ was in the third place.
Episode 3 and 4 was the same for the group B. Next week should be "battle" between A and B group, but not much is known about the rules, so we have to wait and see.

4. JY Feel the World program
JY traveling adventures in Australia from iQIYI. So far 2 episodes aired and iQIYI is releasing them with Eng subs, so thats an easy one!
Simon (his father actor from Thunder drama) is taking JY from one fun activity to another and JY really seems to be enjoying. And bonus, as with Let Go of My Baby, we get to see JY napping.my favourite I dont want to spoil all that content, go watch it for yourself, its worth it! Just one pic in the spoiler to kinda set the mood (cr. on the pic)

5. JY Chase Me show
JY new variety show with "sports" theme. No eng subs that I am aware of, but rather easy to watch as the whole premise is one person/team chasing the other. There is the permanent crew that JY is part of (together with Chen Waiting, Fan Chenchen, Song Zuer and after temporary of permanent change another girl from the girls band Rocket girls). For every episode we get special celebs guests and some pro-athletes. They mix up the teams, sometimes its one on one battle, sometimes its relay.
The mini games in between are usually to add time advantage for the running team.
I heard there should be 12 episodes in total, so with one episode every week, that will keep us entertained throughout the whole December
JY gets to compete with or against some of his "friends", such as Li Chen in the latest episode. My friend told me he and JY have known each other for quite many years, when JY was still modelling. He is the one that JY got into the BJJ style fight in the tear-the-name-tag game, which turns out rather fierce
In so far unreleased episode we have the tough girl from Operation Red Sea, we also have NanNan from Let Go of My Baby (I read some comments that JY picked up NanNan by one hand in style of picking up his female costar in We Are Young drama. and also that JY helped NanNan to get out of the balls pool after he fell in there.).

SpoilerThe filming is quite difficult, they usually record during the night till early morning. You can see that it was even raining heavily and was rather cold. JY was also sick during some of the recording.
There is the famous "joke" about JY have muscle cramps in his butt after running. After Chen Waiting finished his run, he said he is like Huang Jingyu, got the butt cramps as well
which they followed up with JY giving CWT a birthday cake with photo of said CWT complaining about his buttI got more stuff, but as this post is getting rather long, so I stop here with the "whats on Yuzhou TV" segment

Hello everybody!
Lots has been happening in last couple of weeks and thanks to the October holidays, I have finally some time to post about some of it.
1) We had the "Yuzhou Incident" on 20th September
I was quite a wreck whole that day because ZZ studio confirmed his attendance of the Donfang TV 2020 opening conference (whatever way its the correct translation), eventhough I didnt know why is ZZ participating (turns out its for the music variety show that he should start recording next week in Beijing). While JY was rumored to participate with Wang Likun for their drama Lucky WIth You (the English name keeps changing, i hope thats the correct one). So with such a pretext emotions were really high for many cpfs! I personally didnt expect Yuzhou to actually meet on the stage or backstage, i was just hoping that JY will really come (as ZZ was confirmed, it was all up to JY really). There was no livestream, so we could only rely on reports and recordings from the frontline fans
Then ZZ showed up and while he was doing his part, on-site "spies" reported seeing JY car circling around the venue. At which point me and my Chinese friend thought maybe JY will not come to the event, but maybe just pick up ZZ
Then ZZ was gone and the painful waiting for JY has started. Suddenly a short video of JY in some kind of lobby popped up on Weibo. Seemed just a random person caught a sight of JY and didnt know anything about the well...anything, which was driving all the fans crazy as you can imagine Also JY was rumored to have the opening ceremony for his new drama with Dilireba on the same day in Shanghai, so he could have been pretty much anywhere (later it was confirmed JY did participate in the opening ceremony, but seems like it was kinda soft opening, Dilireba herself was not present). Finally Chinese cpfs videos of JY started flooding weibo from the Dongfang site, many with the simple caption: "boss, you have come"YZ Dongfang Conference timeline - ZZ out, JY in (see spoiler, screenshot from weibo by me)
SpoilerOne thing is clear, lots of careful planning and coordination went into this and Dongfang TV has to be a willing "partner in crime" as well. Because the quick in and out of ZZ, JY arriving after ZZ already had left, it all shows these were not random events. Taking into account ZZ super busy schedule, he also decided to participate for the variety show eventhough the other contestants didnt make the appearance. Which again points to the fact that ZZ wanted to go. JY going was kinda 50/50 for me because I have seen quite a few Thunder promos where JY didnt show up and some I didnt expect him to show up and he did
so one never knows.
Also having both Yuzhou at the same place, it gave fans new materials to feed probably every cpf's '"obsession": yuzhou height comparison

SpoilerSince this event, things have been kinda speeding up. We had Yuzhou participating in the MVs for 70th anniversary. Each in their own MV, but again, posted together on Weibo with names and everything
. Then both YZ promoted Zhang Dada new movie. It may not seem like much, but the funny thing is that ZZ started following ZDD weibo account AFTER he sent out the repost Good times people, really good times 2) JY Mao 1949 movie
There was no common CPF screening as it was not seemed fit due to the nature of the movie, so I just went with my cpf friend. In general, its not hugely popular type of movie. Quite many of the cpfs reported they were the only ones in the cinema hall. Me and my friend were accompanied by an elderly couple
Funny story. One cpf in our local group was booking a ticket for herself and there was one seat already booked, so she booked the place right next saying she is hoping to find her true love The movie is what it is, no point dwelling on the story or the background. What I want to say is that it does look expensive, the cinematography, the camera work, also the period furnishings and props are exquisite. For example the director really focused on the old-style phones when ppl were making calls. Some of the angles (particularly of the ladies) were reminiscent of the old period movies. Very nicely done. JY role is bigger than I expected, which is totally good because in all honestly I did feel bit disappointed after watching Pegasus. JY character is bit naive young man but serious about his duties. JY got even some little jokes in there which are simply delightful. I think its no spoiler really to say it here, e.g. he got a poem from Mao to use as a help with JY character's new girlfriend (played by Wang Likun), which he was very happy about until he realized he cannot take it because nothing can leave the room due to security reasons
Another memorable funny sub-plot is when Mao invites some of his young soldiers for the dinner in Beijing. When the time comes to pay, young soldiers say they didnt bring any money cos they were invited, while Mao say he never takes money with him. So it falls to JY as Mao bodyguard to pay the bill

SpoilerForgot to say, surprisingly the movie got english subs, i guess its because it was broadcasted via that special movie app in US as well.
Overall, as always, I enjoy JY on the big screen and once again I got to do all the "oooh" and "aaaah" in the cinema
Hopefully JY next movie The Half Moon Alice/XXXLove with Guan Xiaotong or Wild Grass with Ma Sichun will be released soon. Fighting! 3) Moving onto ZZ, "My Girlfriend" drama broadcast is just in couple of days!!!
Finally the waiting is over. I am sure everybody has seen the trailers including the ZZ butt slap scene
It does look it could be a funny drama which is always a plus in my books when it comes to the romance dramas. I have to say that Bridgette seems to be slamming the role as well, so expectations are high once again.
The schedule is a tiny bit crazy because for VIP they will release 8 episodes on 8th October, which is impossible to manage in one go (at least for me). But lets see how it goes. The full schedule in spoiler, cr. Youku.
SpoilerIt starts on 8th October, streaming on Youku and Mango TV (only web release for China region so far). The non-VIP schedule is 1-2 episodes per day Tuesdays to Thursdays. Viki should also have license and Thailand gets special release.
4) ZZ Bday concert is coming up on 20th October, in Beijing again, but this time the venue should be bigger, which means more tickets available, yet ppl say due to the concert setup only half of the full capacity should be available. The organization this year is firmly in hands on ZZ and his team, so we got relatively early announcements and no more "free tickets" scheme either. Thank you ZZ!
The concert is named "White Time Zone" and ZZ is "messing" with fans yet again because he has hidden a message in the promo posters using Morse code
Apart from that, cpfs had some fun with the "white vs. black" theme and created similar poster for JY and his upcoming birthday

Hello everybody!
Finally I have some time to post about the Rookies cpf event.
It was amazing and I feel very lucky I had the chance to participate
There were in total around 150 ppl, we have booked two cinema halls, no.2 and no.6 and the atmosphere was just fantastic! Because every time ZZ shows up on the screen, we all went ooooh and aaaaah and it was totally fine Few pics from the event. We were asked not to take photos/videos from the movie itself, so I didnt take any.

SpoilerIn the cinema, lots of posters of ZZ were prepared, also the LCD screen was playing a special "ZZ trailer" if you will on the loop. Including footage of different ZZ drama works, variety shows, concerts. Nice to spread the knowledge of ZZ around. And of course the freebies. For the event, we were paying from our own money for the tickets and some of the freebies, but for very good price and there was even a lottery. Great organization of the whole event

Funny story. As it was on the floor, one cpf didnt notice and stepped directly on ZZ face
So somebody quickly rushed and mopped ZZ face clean with a tissue SpoilerAnd this is the whole assemble. Well, some at the edges seemed to be cut off, but more of less all. (i have taken the photo from the "official" weibo post, cr. on the pic). We could also order the special fisherman's hats for the event, so thats what the most are wearing there.
SpoilerNow the movie itself. I have no idea about the release outside China, but the English subs kinda support the notion of having it released internationally, so fingers crossed. Hence I will put spoiler alerts for the major plot segments just in case somebody wants to wait to be surprised. In general, that was the best about the movie. As it fits with crazy action comedy genre leaning towards parody of the spy/secret agent movies, the surprise effect is crucial. Not knowing what will happen and enjoying the crazy chases and unexpected settings with funny twits is what kept me entertained. The plot is not really complicated, but I didnt expect that, so that didnt bother me at all.
The most confusing for me were probably the languages spoken. Because there are foreigners talking English, foreigners talking Chinese, Chinese talking Chinese, Chinese talking English, Wang Dalu mixing up English and Chinese and on top of that few Hungarian people speaking Hungarian
But they found a neat way to go around the fact that Mila doesnt speak Chinese, so kudos for that!

SpoilerWhen Milla meets Wang Dalu character for the very first time, she has an African-American man with her who is speaking Chinese as her translator. In this part, there is also famous WDL quote (at least for me): "So you want me to be Bond? James Bond?" (Milla is offering WDL the chance to became the secret/special agent. Its also note-worthy to mention that WDL has a poster with Jason Bourne on his bedroom wall
The Plot - see spoiler
SpoilerThe premise is that WDL is some kind of "internet hero/icon/celeb" that is doing some crazy stuff while his fans are watching it live and cheering up for him. By a pure happenstance he ends up in meeting between some mobsters who assume WDL is the middleman for their deal. Shooting starts, Mila shows up as the Agents Boss and WDL is glad he escaped while being alive.
The bed guy acquired some chemical substance that upon release turns people into vegetables (yeah, dont know where the director who seems to have written the script as well came up with that idea). To make it simple, Mila recruited WDL to help her catch the bad guy because they still believe he is the middleman and stop him from destroying the world. They end up in Budapest where ZZ Ding Shan inventor and his assistant LV is (I have no clue why DS is living/staying in Budapest, didnt catch any explanation on that). There is another member of their team, the Interpol police girl from Hong Kong who has not had the best career because she goes berserk when somebody touches her butt in an appropriate way (sounds weird, but she is very funny and as a character I liked her). She pretends she is just a WDL fan but they soon find out she works for Interpol. First she hates WDL, later she comes to like him and they make a real team. For some reason she ended up in the movie with a short blue hair wig (some reference to manga/comics maybe?), so I was glad ZZ wasnt the only one with weird hairdo. There is lots of hilarious chases going on in the streets of Budapest that are quite ingenious in my opinion and I had fun watching it. Its all quite fast-paced movie, it keeps rolling from the beginning till the end.
Then came the SHOCK (i put this in extra spoiler, it regards LV character)
Spoilerduring the chase on the sidecars, Ding Shan and LV are supposed to put a barrier on the bridge to stop and trap the bad guy. DS is fiddling with some instrument and doesnt pay attention to LV. LV sees the bad guy coming and runs why calling for DS: "Shan Shan". It kinda felt like foreboding of a sort, but than its a comedy right, what could happen? Damn, there was a metal sheet flying in the air that chopped off LV's legs at the knee's height. It was unexpected and not really nice. I have no idea why this kinda plot twist was in the movie. I mean yes, it does make the rookies team to go solid and destroy the bad guy for good eventually, but why such a drastic way? beats me. Important to say, LV survived. DS was really sad and thats where we get the ZZ crying scene in the hospital (strangely they picked some very old looking hospital. it doesnt feel like hospital at all).
Eventually the team (minus LV) gears up, ZZ changed from the nerdy clothes to the black outfit with the black overcoat and cool sunglasses and decides to kick some butts.
WDL character made the ultimate sacrifice and when the helicopter with the bad guy blows up while WDL was still hanging on it, we are made to believe that WDL has not survived. Fortunately, there is after-credit scene where he managed to survive and climb back to live. END
ZZ as Ding Shan (contains plot spoiler, will put all in spoiler)
SpoilerI just enjoyed ZZ so much on the big screen that he could be doing anything and I would be still happy as the punch
Its worth to note that the movie was in 3D, so it was quite awesome seeing ZZ like that (apart from ZZ there was lots of 3D WDL directly in my face and once a flying tooth that I tried to avoid )
Everybody knows ZZ got the nerdy inventor role and I think normally the role would go to some average looking actor (i dont meant to hate on anybody, thats just how it usually goes as far as the stereotypes for this kind of role go), so in my opinion to compensate for the fact that ZZ was handsome, tall (taller than WDL by 4cm in real life
) and ripped, some "cosmetic" changes were required. Hence the ugly wig, hence the glasses, weird clothes, make-up choices, attempts to make ZZ appear shorter etc.
I personally dont mind that much because I know its a "special" role and I know what ZZ looks like when he is "normal". But I dont know what will random people who've never heard or seen Xu Weizhou, will think about him.
Then we have those "epic" scenes of zz.
We have the whole YaYa arc. DS needs to get a password to the vault from some dude to get to the Holy Grail (yep, they threw the Holy Grail relics into the mix as well
). So DS "dresses up" and goes to the pool party to approach the dude. When asked for name, DS sees a yellow duckie floating on the water and says "YaYa" (different characters, but "ya" in Chinese means duck"). He gets the dude to what looks like massage place, stabs him with some truth serum (while being very masculine and no nonsense guy ) and gets the number combination from the dude.
Then there is the orange juice episode. I dont know, i just felt second-hand embarrassment
i think the clips of that leaked already and I dont have to go into the details of that.
ZZ patting a white horse. I think that is some reference to some movie or something, but nothing came to my mind
any ideas? (the only thing that popped up in my mind was the Horse Whisperer movie with Robert Redford, but dont think that applies)
The last but not the least, there is ZZ line: "I am afraid of pain" when the bad guys capture the team and keep them in some cave roped to the poles. This is a big hit among cpfs due to the reference to Addicted
To be fair, the other actors got their share of some embarrassing (at least to me) scenes. There is WDL preparing to have a good time with his inflatable girl-companion while his mum walks in on him. Turns out she knows about her, calls her "Maria" and implies they kinda get along together. Blue hair girl has the strange "urge" of going batshit crazy when somebody pinches her butt and LV is subjected to all kind of experiments-go-wrong scenarios. Its just THAT kind of movie.
Overall, I think ZZ made the role his own and when watching the movie, I really felt i am seeing Ding Shan, not ZZ. So good job in my books
ZZ screen time is adequate his supporting role, but as this action movie, there is not much character development, the focus is on action. WDL and the blue hair lady are the main leads and they get the most screen time.
I think thats pretty much it, in a rather brief and compressed way. I hope it makes some sense
.
I enjoyed the movie more than I expected. I was really laughing many times throughout the whole movie and I hope ZZ himself is satisfied with his own performance.

Sorry I have not been posting anything recently, too busy with my non-yuzhou life and work
After the Milan and Parish fashion week, we have been experiencing some rather quite times, but zz Rookies premiere is just around the corner on 12th July! Local cpfs are preparing for private screening, which is very exciting because i couldnt participate last time for JY Pegasus movie as I was out of China that time. Go Go Rookies!

Hello everybody!
Not only I have little free time these day, I got swamped by watching JY Thunder. At first I thought I wait for the sub version, then i thought i maybe watch without subs the free version and i ended up watching is "live" on iQiyi
Talk about resolutions, right?
Here are some first impressions of the series (i have watched 8 episodes so far, two are waiting for me for tonight, because ZZ with his live Olympics event got priority
)
I will not talk much about the story, but in case i touch upon that, i will put a note and hide all in the spoiler.
1. High quality production. I think that money was not an issue here. There are many exterior scenes and i would guess even the hospital scenes were shot in the real hospital, its not just a "studio" built. Therefore the whole series has a very real feel, because its happening at real places.
2. Camera angles. It reminded me bit Addicted because the director from Addicted also liked to use unusual angles and filming through objects/barriers that are seemingly in the way of the shot but actually adding depth to the frame. Here the director of Thunder took it even one step further. It seems like he really likes to play with the camera and offers the scene from very different views/angles, which are interesting but at the same time not disturbing, i didnt feel the cut/editing is confusing or too obvious and the more I watch it, the more I am looking forward to what else I will get to see, what other surprises the director prepared.

SpoilerApart from the angles, we also get interesting scenes that are filmed from the very distance and then at extreme proximity.
The only thing I personally didnt really enjoy is when Lifei is having a direct conversation with Li Weimin and its done as each is talking directly to the camera, looking into the camera. Its nice having JY looking at me like this, but it didnt feel right as the filming technique. But it could be just a matter of opinion.
3. Plot arrangement. This is another very smart way how to keep viewers entertained and interested. Basically in one episode we see some scene and then in the next episode(s), we go back to the same scene in a rather roundabout way and extra details are added to the scene or something that happened before or after that. The smart part is that I didnt feel like i was missing anything, its just building up on what I already knew.
4. Flashbacks. We get lots of the scenes that show what happened in the past, both recent and some really old stuff (like when Lifei was at police academy for example). It happened to me with some Asian dramas before that the flashbacks were messy and I had hard time figuring out when its flashback and when its the present time. In Thunder, the flashbacks are organized rather neatly, its always easy to know what time we are at. So far they mostly added background to Lifei's life.

SpoilerLi Weimin sent Lifei his hoodie when Life is held in custody by police. The flashback we get is a little story how Lifei was with LWM in a store shopping for clothes. LF was arguing the clothes LWM picks makes him look really old and was pushing him to try the funky two-color hoodie that in the present time LWM sent to LF.
5. Who is the good guy and who is the bad guy? Another cool thing, most of the characters could be both good and bad (apart from JY character of course
) and Thunder is playing with our mind, giving us different hints that suggest this or that character is the bad one, both on the police side and in the drug business. Not only that, they keep giving out hints that who I thought could be bad, is actually doing something good, so my mind is like a pendulum swing Again, it makes it more interesting to watch, but due to that I keep changing my "attachments" to different characters on daily basis 6. JY. I really like watching JY act in Thunder because finally he got the opportunity to showcase his acting abilities, show his range. I like his little quirky poses and all the face expressions he makes and it just all feels natural and interesting. Mostly here its not the type of acting that would only require standing/sitting in a place and do the talking, but even when LF is being interrogated and that is rather "stationary" scene, JYcan come up with few different things to give it some extra depth.

SpoilerLF decided he doesnt want to cooperate in the interrogation anymore. Just look at the body language. Like a rebelling teenage boy
We also get to see JY doing some funny acts (everybody has seen the hospital injured lag gig) and he is even smiling here and there

SpoilerOn top of that we see JY doing BJJ that adds a really nice element to his character because we all know JY is a pro. It feels bit "wrong" when Life is defeated at fight at some times because I feel JY would just nail it, but its needed for the story, i can accept that
7. JY/Lifei clothes. Thats actually hilarious because I remember when during Thunder filming the usual JY-goes-to-work/JY-off-work photos were not hiding his clothes as not to spoil it for the drama as usual because apparently everybody thought its just JY clothes. Well, turns out they are used in the drama
the baggy cargo pants, the old grey tshirt that (thanks to the JY-mentioned 4K quality) is visibly pilling and the good ole' Vans shoes that JY sometimes used as slippers and many more.

SpoilerFirst two episodes were great, cos there was lots of action for JY and his character. Investigating, arresting people, later running from police, fighting, super cool! then he got into police custody and its interrogation after interrogation with some flashbacks. i want the real deal back!
Fortunately, i think its about to change because JY just posted on his weibo that he wants practically the same. He wants LF to get out and investigate

I personally prefer crime dramas to romance dramas, so I was really looking forward to Thunder because i really wished I could enjoy it because its a interesting drama as well, not just because its a drama JY stars in. And so far I truly like it. I dont understand all obviously, my Chinese level is way below for this, but I look at it as a really intense Chinese language course.
Boss makes me work real hard I hope many people will enjoy the drama both in China and outside and if anybody here feels like sharing what they think after watching it, please do
It wouldnt feel right to post only about JY, so as I mentioned ZZ got his big event today, the event for 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, its 1000days before they officially start. For this occasion we got another gala and ZZ was not only performing a song (Glory), he was co-hosting as well! I think the nerves of being live with so many people watching got bit to ZZ, but he was very determined and really worked hard to conduct himself in a professional way.
I dont know much about what ZZ was actually talking about because seeing him all tall, cute, in the white attire and hosting (that is a big plus because instead of the usual long wait followed by 4-5 mins of seeing ZZ, I got lots of ZZ this time

sorry I have not been able to post recently, too busy
Here comes some quick Yuzhou update
1. Drama rumors. The better type of rumors when ppl speculate about yuzhou next projects. Nothing was officially confirmed, so just read for fun
SpoilerFor JY we have the "Youth Genesis" drama that was silent for a long time, only to re-surface yet again. The rumor mills say filming ceremony on 25th April in Xiamen (the same city as Half Moon Alice movie). Two "brand" new female leads Wu Jinyan (b. 1990) and Xuan Lu (b. 1991), I have never heard about them, based on what I could find on Baidu, both are originally ballet dancers. well, anything better than Asura witch. My Chinese friend told me she was not really happy with WJY acting but hopes she can give us all a pleasant surprise
For ZZ we got "My Youth Loved You" drama, also nothing official yet, but filming should start in April. First it was supposed to be Dilireba with a different actor, than somebody said Dilireba was busy, project got delayed and the male lead was replaced with ZZ, then a new rumor said the main lead is Dongdong (Baby Let Go) and ZZ is second lead with Tan Songyun (English name "Seven", b. 1990), then another weibo account said the leads are ZZ and Seven without mentioning the second male character at all
Based on the plot synopsis its two-guys-one-girl story line, so there needs to be another guy apart from ZZ. TSY seems to be an actress on the rise, @artemis73 already saw her in Love O2O movie but unfortunately cannot remember her Then we have JY rumored to be part of some kind of military-theme reality show "Special Warfare" created by Tencent. The "funny" thing is that there was a date of release mentioned already, 4th May, which is very specific and very soon
Apart from JY, there are supposed to be three other guys, among them Elvis (yet again ).
2. JY Thunder, the highly anticipated release is still up in the air. The rumored release presscon on 14th April didnt happen eventhough JY flew to Beijing on 14th, but if its related I have no clue and havent even seen any info about JY schedule in Beijing. Looks like boss is more mysterious than ever
Last time JY was flying in and out of Beijing it was around his bday and afterwards he started filming Half Moon Alice, so hopefully the pattern repeats itself 3. Some more concrete stuff, ZZ Tian Tian Xiang Shang show should broadcast on Sunday 21st April and we get to see ZZ wearing his lovely jeans jacket...
Spoiler(cr. on the pic). First I thought its zz sitting on a red towel, so that his fancy jeans jacket doesnt get dirty, but turns out its the back part of the jacket
TTXS just uploaded a promo of zz on their Tictoc app account, where zz is showing us the whole thing 360 degrees

Yesterday, Tmall Genie weibo account posted about ZZ as their new spokesperson (well, it was again "guess who is that", but this time it was a no-brainer cos the video voice narrator was ZZ himself
). ZZ should participate in their new product release activity on 18th April in Beijing (kinda wish JY could keep himself busy in Beijing till at least 17th cos now ZZ is supposed to be in Shanghai). I have no clue if there will be a livestream for the release, but the official weibo posted a lovely poster with the address of the venue and even included a little map (see spoiler, cr. Tmall Genie weibo)

The part that includes video from @Saikya Basically ZZ and JY start rehearsing the kidnap scene and JY is not sure about how to do all the movements and hand gestures and stuff, so they call in Xiao Long to help JY. The director is there too, but he intervenes later on. Some interesting parts: when JY grabs ZZ at his waist, ZZ laughs and then tells JY to either grab him higher or lower cos it tickles and it makes him smile (which spoils the scene). Xiao Long also tells JY he can/should grab ZZ face cos in general they want JY to act it out more fiercely and as if GH is bit crazed. So JY does it like twice, but then he touches ZZ face softly and asks ZZ if it hurt. To which ZZ just smiles and ask JY to continue with his lines before he forgets them
This is just what I remember on top of my head, but its all really very sweet and I really hope we get the sub version Now, latest Yuzhou news.
JY got the AFA award for the Best Newcomer! So happy for boss, so deserved. JY not only received his award, he also presented an award for the Best Cinematography. The livestream was working quite well and to my surprise they were on time, which is not something that usually happens with Chinese events
JY also posted a selfie (recently he has been posting loads of them on his weibo) and for once we got the pro photo. But I still like when JY posts the "real" photos of himself. Keep it real boss

Now we need Thunder to hit the market to get JY some boost. Not that the weibo followers is all that matters, but its a KPI that for sure all stakeholders are looking at. 1. Date with the Stars show - there is one version where JY sings with the other cast members and then there is version when JY sings it by himself. It sounds bit sad compared to the first version, but its beautiful to listen to JY's soulful voice.

Hello everybody!
Great, great news! ZZ historical drama has really started the broadcast
It airs on Hunan TV in their prime time (starts around 8-9pm local time, depending how the TV schedule fits) and Youku releases the same eps at 10pm.
Even better, we already have an official Youtube channel that has loaded up the first episode yesterday, its China Zone and the English name of the drama is "Weaving a Tale of Love".

No ENG subs yet, but I hope as of now its a work in progress. To help speed it up, please go and leave a comment asking for the channel to add subs, so they can see many people are really excited to watch this drama
Less than 24 hours since China Zone released the ep 1 and it already accumulated over 80k views! its an amazing start.
The first two episodes were about the "beginning of the story" so to speak, so we got the junior version of ZZ and Nazha (the lead female actress). Tonight we should see the grown-up version.
Based on the preview, ZZ character Pei Xingjian will be drinking and doing some calligraphy

The costumes are amazing, I really think those dark shade colors fit ZZ so much. Also he seems to have many different sets of clothes
