  1. Wow oh wow.   What an awesome 2 episodes.   Lots to unpack so here goes.

Jun Oh deserves to be found out at this rate.   How can someone be more clueless?   It's a good thing that Mi Rim is such a sweet young lady otherwise he'd have gotten slapped by now.  Same scarf for mom and GF?   Seriously?   Still, it's only a matter of time until their secret is out.

The more I see Se Ryeon, it's hard not to feel bad for her.   Yes, she's still immature in many respects but her heart is still good.   It's not her fault that she has an awful mom.   For all of Dae Bum's faults, he is really good to her and for her.   How they can ultimately end up together remains to be seen but the tension will remain high until then.

I agree with many of you about SC's ambivalence towards AK.   It's as though he treats her as two distinct women, i.e., he seems to "love" AK but despise Ji Young.   Plus, he wants to continue protecting DD which is partly why he went through the lengths he did to keep the secret from her.    Even now he's trying to protect his daughter.   But the real issue will be how DD and YK find out and how that may affect their relationship.

Poor Cha Gun.   Seems the man is really stuck on SR even though she told him she's not worth his time.   Can the writer really "redeem" SR?   As far as Dae Ran, I have nothing to add other than she's really a piece of work.

So, now to the OTP.    In all honesty, I would have been happy with even 10% of what they showed.   So, to get what we did is extremely sweet.   It's as though Christmas came a month late (or 11 months early).   They had their sweet moments, funny moments, sad moments, and tender moments.   All in one weekend!    I can honestly say that I don't have a favorite scene of them - I'm enjoying them together as a collective.   But please share which moment/scene of DD/YK was your favorite - I'm curious to know.

In honor of the happy devoted couple, here's a song for them.   Bring on 37/38!!

  2. So where to begin with episodes 31/32?

You really have to feel for Jun Oh and Mi Rim.   Of course they had to like each other a lot and of course his mom becomes a huge factor in their relationship going forward.    He sure has guts playing footsy with Mi Rim with his mom sitting there!  I still root for them, but it will be interesting to see how things end up.

It seems like Dae Bum and Se Ryeon are at a slight freeze in their relationship.   I’m not sure if that’s a good thing at this point.   I do wonder how long they plan to keep the other guy around for.

Cha Gun and SR?   I still don’t know why he would want to get involved with her.  Of course, he’s not aware of nearly all the horrible things she’s done to this point.   If the idea is to have him “save” SR, then it will prove to be an interesting lift.   We shall see.

So, now we’ll get to one of the main storylines.   Yeon Sil is really something.   She’s blinded by money so much that she still wants her husband to go with AK to the States.   You would think her tune would change once she discovers the truth(s).   Still, I’m not sure given her character.

AK is still quite a piece of work for believing that she can lure her ex-husband and daughter to the States with her.   The more I watch her, the more I viscerally dislike her.    In fact, I'm starting to think she's more delusional than SR which is really saying something.

While I can applaud Soo Cheol for discovering the truth and not going with AK, I cannot defend his violent actions towards her either.   Especially when you contrast his behavior with YK’s behavior when he regained his partial memory and broke off his engagement with SR at the hotel.   I remember thinking to myself, “Please don’t hit her.  Just don’t do it!”   To his credit, YK did not lay a hand on her despite his anger.   Who would have thought that Soo Cheol could actually learn something from YK?

Speaking of YK, we now know that it’s all about his actions, not his words.   No matter how much he might tell DD that they have no future together, his actions and his heartbeat betray him royally.   It's obvious how much he still loves her.   As far as DD, the fact that she knows the whole truth about YK’s “engagement” should make her want to be with him even more.   Remember, she’s a fighter.   She will fight for what she believes in – that includes her love for YK.   Good for her for not giving up!   And I actually like the way she's being playful with him.  By the way, I can’t be the only one who is still chuckling over her special “love tap Indian bop” when YK lost the Jenga game with her and the kids! :)

@TheaNI do think you're correct about AK ultimately being the catalyst that re-sparks YK and DD.   They will surely comfort each other over the shocking revelations.  A slow burn but a certain one I'm convinced.

Wow, I really had quite a bit to say this week.   A lot truly happened.    Bring on episodes 33/34!

  3. As much as we like to speculate based on the writer's past drama history, this is still its own story.   I'm not saying that any of you are wrong - I'm simply saying that the only way to know for certain is to keep tuning in.

At this point, I would be thrilled if YG does not hurt or make DD cry at all this weekend.   Yes, of course, I could go for some legitimate lovey-dovey type scenes with them too.   Still, we all understand that it's all about the long game.

I do think Jae Ni, Se Chan, and Se Jong will be critical towards keeping YG and DD's paths converging.  I'm also pretty sure that the "fake pregnancy by SR scheme" will also happen but at least it would not surprise many of us.

Finally, I'm still reserving the right to continue my fanfic based on what the writer comes up with.  But for now, I'm holding my heart down.

  4. So I've had a few days to think over the two episodes.   Here are my thoughts.

When it comes to Anna Kim, Soo Cheol, and Yeon Sil, none of them have clean hands.   AK's brazenness comes through loud and clear with each passing moment.    Yeon Sil's love for money over all comes through shining as well.    As much as I want to give Soo Cheol some benefit of the doubt for trying to resist AK's advances, the fact that he ultimately succumbed and even agreed to go with her to the States is a bridge too far.   And he tried to guilt trip DD for her change of mind!   Wow!

So it appears that Jun Oh and Mi Rim discover part of a secret between them.   Unfortunately for them, this is just a precursor for the real trouble to come.

What to do about Dae Bum and Se Ryeon?   Seriously, what do we do with these two?

Se Chan and Se Jong.   Those two are quite the characters.   While it was cute at first that they wanted to play Cupid for YG and DD, I think we all agree that they should retire their wings and trust that YG and DD will find their way to each other again (more on this later).

SR's delusions got worse and worse by the week as well as her actions.   Without getting into detail, it's fair to say that she truly refuses to give up even though she's bound to lose everything.

Which brings up to the OTP

I have tried to give YG benefit of the doubt regarding his amnesia and therefore how hesitant he now is towards DD.   But the last episode was pure cruelty on his part.   Despite his confusions, there was no reason for him to act so callously towards her.    Still, I do hold hope based on 3 things:

    1)     He and DD shared a late night ramen meal where they could smile and relax towards each other like before.

    2)     He rescued her from the burning fire and stayed with her at the hospital.

    3)     He broke off the engagement to SR . . . . again!

As far as DD, I've seen many folk want to move on from YG.   All I can say is how many of us had a past love that we just could not move on from?   In regards to SR, that's a difference between the two of them.   DD rushed headlong into that fire to save the two boys.   Even though Se Jong is her son, can we honestly see SR going into the fire to do the same?   In the end, it's painfully clear that the paths of YG and DD must be put together again.   Why?   Here's a song I think captures DD's perspective (and YG's to a certain extent)

    Bring on episodes 31/32!!

Now that I've seen the latest episode, I think you are right.  Can't have a doctor who gets sick to their stomach at the sight of internal organs.  Like you said it's hard to figure out because he doesn't know what he wants to do either.  The show hasn't showcased any of his or MiRim's talents either.

No doubt that Jun Oh and Mi Rim should be getting more screen time.   Maybe they go should into business together.   Doing what I'm not sure.

I still like your other predictions.   I need to stop writing fanfics just because I get frustrated with K-drama writers.  Even though I should know better.   Well, let's see how YG and DD do end up together.

  6. I've had time now to rewatch the two episodes and digest what I saw.    My thoughts:

Poor Mi Rim.    She doesn't realize yet what she's gotten herself into.    It won't be fun watching Jun Oh's mom change her attitude towards Mi Rim when she understands what's gone on between them for weeks.

SR's delusions are truly unbelievable.   She truly thinks she will end up with YG in the end.    The depths she will go to in feeding her delusional fantasies are unreal.   Yet, she actually does not get the most visceral reaction from me this weekend.   That dishonor goes to . . .  Anna Kim.

At first, I was truly torn about how Anna Kim was reacting towards Soo Cheol and DD.    But the brazenness of her actions towards Soo Cheol was truly a turning point for me.   It's true that Soo Cheol has not set clear boundaries to say no to her, but her behavior in trying to win him back are simply outrageous.    No matter how much remorse you feel about what you did, you did leave your husband and daughter behind.   And now you expect to take them both with you to the States just because you want to is the epitome of selfishness and delusional grandeur.    I can honestly say that Anna Kim got a lump of coal in her stocking from Santa on Christmas.

As much as the frustration may still linger about the OTP, I'm going to take encouragement with the preview for episode 29.    It's really good to see that DD is now engaged in the fight she should have been on already.    My only question is will she be truly in it to win it?    As we know it's not just SR she's fighting.   There are multiple fronts she'll be engaging in - will she stay strong and see this through until the very end?    Also, another of SR's delusions - if she thinks she can intimidate DD by pulling her hair, well I think and hope she'll find out the hard way that you don't mess with DD especially now!

YG will eventually give in to DD.   He has to.    Either he'll end up happy with her or end up in an asylum.    Which would he rather choose?    So, for those who are seriously considering jumping ship on this drama, I'd say not yet.   It might actually start getting really good again.

One last thing.    For those of you who might be interested in reading my fanfic of YG/DD, I made some edits to that story and reposted.   Here's the updated version:  https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14012267/1/Memories-of-you-and-our-love-1.

  7. Hi all.

I totally get people's frustrations with today's episode.   But rather than comment on the episode itself, I did something I didn't think I'd do.   I wrote a new fanfic specifically in response to what I watched today.     This helps me feel a little bit better.

Here's the link to my new story for anyone interested.  https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14011173/1/Memories-of-you-and-us?__cf_chl_jschl_tk__=9Ry09EMi0FmT8LvNVWxe7vmA3rcsoSvwqo3u3ETJfXU-1640462420-0-gaNycGzNCKU.

If you have trouble accessing this link, then please let me know.   Also, for those who read my story, please please leave reviews.   I know that this won't erase what we all watched but I hope I can be of some cheer this Christmas day!

  8. @TheaNI like your predictions/theories overall.   The one I'd disagree the most with would be Jun Oh and Mi Rim.    Although I'm not going to predict what he ends up doing with his life, I'm convinced that he will not be a doctor nor finish medical school.   I know that he feels awful about breaking his mom's heart but I also believe that he'll find something that can make his mom proud and be with Mi Rim at the same time (again what specifically that is I'm not clever enough to figure out).

There's no doubt in my mind that DD and YK are in it for the long haul.   Who knows how many obstacles they'll have to endure to get there but they will make it.   I could see them not married when the series ends (to the angst of some) but they'll be together forever indeed.

Absolutely Soo Cheol will stay with Yeon Sil.   Even though many of us have issues with Yeon Sil, you correctly point out that she did save Soo Cheol and Dan Dan.

I can see your angle regarding Se Ryeon and Dae Bum.    As long as they find something productive to do with their lives, I'm open to supporting them.

There will 3 either new planets or galaxies named: one for SR, one for Ki Ja, and one for DR.    I can hope right?

Let's see if tomorrow is the Christmas miracle we all long for.    Merry Christmas one and all!

  9. Now that was an episode!   I think some of us had an inkling that something big was going to happen.  I for one was not disappointed.   Where to begin with my thoughts?

Jun Oh and Mi Rim deserve more screen time.   It will be interesting how his mom can accept Mi Rim as a potential DIL.

What Se Ryeon and Dae Bum both need more than anything is to figure what their natural gifts are and apply them to help others and themselves.   I totally understand Soo Cheol, Yong Shil, and grandma being against them marrying given Se Ryeon's mom.   This one will be a struggle for sure, but I do hope that they can find joy in at least being helpful to others.

It does appear that the writer(s) are trying the sympathy angle with Anna Kim.  It does make me wonder if her condition will change her mind about YK possibly being with DD.    Lots to ponder here.

If it's true that there's a new galaxy in the universe, then my Christmas wish would be for SR, DR, and SR's mom to get one way tickets there.  Speaking of which.

What a perfect visual!   You have SR alone in a hotel room.    Against this backdrop, there's a broken wineglass, a broken amnesia, a broken engagement all leading to her broken heart.  To see her lying there on the floor by her lonesome amidst all the brokenness was too perfect!  Four words - game over, you lose!

Which leads me to the OTP.

There will certainly be a period of "fence mending" for both DD and YK.   They both will need to be 100% honest and real with each other to make this work, and I'm confident that they will.   It's now DD's chance to tell him everything she's felt the last few episodes and to assure him that she loves him and only him.   Likewise, YK has a chance to make things right with DD and to assure her that he loves her and only her.  Remember, there will be more obstacles in their way.   It's up to them to remain strong in order to see their love through until the end.

I really think Saturday's and Sunday's episodes will be terrific.   Merry Christmas to everyone in this forum.   It really has been fun chatting about this drama.   Can't wait for Saturday!!

  10. OK.   Progress is being made.   YK is slowly but surely about to regain his memories.

I see some folks are critical of DD for not fighting harder for her love for YK.   While I can understand the frustration, she is still quite naive as in young.   YOu never forget your first love, and it's obvious that she has a special one in YK.   That's why it's hard for her to accept right now.   Still, I mentioned this in a previous post and it bears repeating - true love always wins.   So, YK and SR can go ahead with a fake engagement/marriage/wedding.   He cannot ever love SR.   He can and always will love DD.

Se Ryeon is really something else, isn't she?   I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry.

Let's not speculate about Anna Kim yet.  Let this play out.

    Bring on tomorrow's episode!

  11. I also believe that the 22 yo old will be a glimpse of how YK will be when he regains his memories.   His love for DD will be absolutely pure and he can also start over with his kids.

We've all established that SR is not the sharpest tool in the shed.    She will get hers along with her mom and DR.    The question is why Cha Gun would be interested in her.

With no substance to rely on, I'm going to predict that YK regains his memories either this weekend or next.   How will be the mystery.   He and DD just need to stay tough and keep fighting for their love.   I can understand that DD does not want her heart broken again but I have a feeling that she'll be forced to take a stand and will ultimately choose YK for hers.

Just some random thoughts on 23/24

-SaRa taking advantage of the situation to trick him into marriage. I feel sick! Her mom is ick too. Want her to be caught so badly.

-What happened to Seryeon’s place? Can’t her mom move there?

-DD why can’t you claim your man? Why is she acting indifferent to YK? She should know deep down how he feels. She’s not even trying to jog his memories about them.
-Poor Seryeon! Forget DB! (I find the actress has gotten much more prettier since her last drama. I’ve always thought she was pretty, but something more in this drama. Perhaps long hair & styling? Anyway, I say all that to say I think she’s beautiful.)

-I do like the cosmetology couple

I remember something my Dad told me long ago.  "Son, the house that's built on sand cannot stand."    SR, DR, and KJ will get theirs in the end because their lies will be exposed for what they are - lies.   And we must never forget that true love always wins.

As far as DD, she's trying her best to deal with her broken heart.   After all, how do most of us deal with heartbreak?   Denial and trying to push our feelings down.   But the more we do that, the worse it usually gets.   That's what we're seeing with DD and now YK.    But, in the end, their love will be better for this.    As usual, it's the K-drama long game we have to play as viewers.

Watching DB act the way he's acting is truly disappointing.   At some point he needs to seriously self-reflect to get him back on track.

I totally agree about Jun Oh and Mi Rim.   I'm liking them the more I see them.

I know today was a disappointing day for many of us about DD/YK.    But we must remember that this is one of a few obstacles they'll need to pass in order to remain strong in their love.   Yet, in the end, it will be all worth it.

    True love always wins!   Always!

And before he lost his memories he was beginning to loosen up because of DD. Look at the difference between him and his daughter had become after DD opened his eyes as to what he was doing. She made him realize that there was more to being a father than just having the title.

Not to mention how YK started to treat Se Chan and Se Jong thanks to DD.

Also, I can't help but rewatch the scene when YK, DD, and the kids took the air gondolas to the top of the peak.    As DD reminisced about the night that she was carried by YK and looked at the nighttime sky, you could feel her heartbreak at the memory.   But even though YK can't understand nor remember the memory in question, you can sense that he felt somewhat responsible for making DD tear up.   I just thought this scene was well done all around in capturing those two delicate emotions.

Will the hanky make its appearance this weekend?    We can all hope, can't we?

  14. So let's see if I have this straight:

    1)   As a 22 yo and a 41 yo, DD sends YK's heart a flutter.

    2)  As a 22 yo and a 41 yo, SR cannot win YK's heart.

    3)  As a 22 yo and a 41 yo, YK can't stand Dal-Rae.

    4)  As a 22 yo and a 41 yo, Lawyer Ko remains a good friend for YK.

The biggest difference would be YK's reaction to Anna Kim and his children.    All this leads me to believe that once YK regains his memories, he'll revert to the self he was prior to the marriage to his late wife.   In other words, he'll have his whole heart wrapped up with DD and the kids in tow with SR and Dal Rae out in the cold again!

I'm really liking the Jun Oh and Mi Rim pairing.  Even though it probably won't get much play, I'm looking forward to seeing more scenes with them.

I have to agree with the majority of sentiments regarding DD's stepmom.   She's prone to keep taking from others but then turns around and asks people why they make her out to be a bad person.   Self-reflection is always a good thing!

I understand that scientists have discovered a new planet.   To SR and Dal Rae, just go to this planet and stay there.   The whole universe would be a happier place!

  15. It's one thing if SR was strictly clueless but harmless.   However, it's her extreme dangerous behaviors that would be of most concern with regards to wanting to be with YK and Se Jong.   I don't see how any one can think it's a good idea for her to be near them when she almost caused two traffic accidents, almost drowned herself, and got drunk more times than we can count.   Unreal!
