Every public speaker or actor, etc. knows very well the importance of pauses in a speech. Pauses catch the attention of your audience and draw it to what you are going to say. Despite the fact that most of us here understand little or no Korean, I guess we could all sense that while listening to Hyunie's acceptance speech even before the translations and subs were out, and we could only catch a few words here and there. This is how effective pauses are.
I used to read a few books/articles on public speaking in the past, and I remember in particular something like this (paraphrasing, 'cause I don't have the exact quote on hand now, sorry) "Pause immediately before and after a word or sentence you want to highlight: the preceding pause says <listen up> and the succeeding pause means <put that in your memory> "

1:48 - 2:00 - the part about Wookie (and we all heard the slight in her voice, so I don't need to repeat that)

And in addition to this and among other things those pauses helped to single out Wookie's name, as we've already mentioned. Not really together with the SP team that she thanked first (and among them she chose to thank the PDnim in particular of course). Closer, but still separated by a (shorter) pause from the family. Basically, in a category by himself. The "my partner - ChangWookie orabeoni" category.
Of course I am not saying she did use the pauses really on purpose as a seasoned public speaker would, or as she would do when acting, because our baby girl was obviously too emotional for the award and everything for that, to the point that - as she admitted in her IG post - she could not even remember what she had said when she went back to her seat (bonus: that means that everything she said was not a speech she had prepared beforehand, just in case she would win, but something that came straight from the bottom of her heart, without much thinking involved... and that'makes me really wonder, because "He looked at/after me beautifully so it seems that I/everything was able to come out beautifully" doesn't really sound to me as a common way to thank your co-star, so if this is really the first thing that came to her mind to say about Wookie on that stage it is even more
It reminds me of how many times we have pointed out that she really seemed to bloom during and immediately after SP )
Still, even though she didn't use those pauses on purpose, just as we can feel the effects of pauses in a speech even in a foreign language we can't speak, we can use them effectively based only on our instinct at least to a certain extent. And that must be even more the case for Hyunie, since she has been acting since she was a child, and therefore some of these dramatic "techniques" must be somewhat ingrained in her by now.
Not to mention the fact that pauses are often also for the sake of the speakers themselves: catch your breath, focus, savor what you are going to say, etc...
In this regard... probably it's a stretch, and it's just an assumption but... Chingus here have already noted that it had been a long time since Hyunie had publicly mentioned Wookie's name. We know there are plenty of valid reasons for her to avoid talking about him, and we listed a few in particular after Hyunie took part to that radio program that caused a bit of a commotion around here because she did not pick him as the actor she would like to work again with. Sadly, Wookie is really "the one who shall not be mentioned" and I am afraid it will be a long, long time before we can hear his name come out of her mouth.
So, I've been wondering if she also felt happy, grateful, relieved that yesterday she had not only the opportunity but also a good reason to say his name out loud and talk, even if briefly, about him. In this case, what she choose to say yesterday becomes even more meaningful...

ETA: about the orabeoni, the first time I heard this term was while watching Naeil's Cantabile. And I remember reading at that time that it is in fact an older and more formal word, but people explained that it is still used in Jeju-do. Nor Hyunie nor Wookie are from Jeju, however, so no idea how they came to use it at times. I could imagine that - being a more formal word - it would be suitable for a ceremony like the awards, etc, but nowadays it's common to hear "oppa" even during these events. And it doesn't explain why we heard Hyunie call Wookie orabeoni in a bts video. Besides we know she usually calls him oppa anyway. Possibly some inside joke between them? Regardless, I find it super cute - especially the juxtaposition between the more familiar ChangWookIE and the formal term.
Love your post, chingu! Placed it all in a spoiler. And, I’m thanking the cameraman for zooming back in just in time when she was mentioning Wookie! Hehe. Hyunnie admitting that it was all a blur afterwards shows that it all came from the heart, which just makes it more meaningful.
For the orabeoni, I believe some have mentioned before that it was also used in historical dramas. My thought then led to the drama they were both in- WBDS. So I have a guess that maybe in one of their countless conversations that was the topic where it stemmed from and like you said, that maybe could be an inside joke they share. I’m ashamed to admit that I have not seen WBDS, so I can’t verify if “orabeoni” was indeed used in that drama. Lolol. Someone can feel free to verify.
Anywho, I also like the juxtaposition- formal yet informal - “changwookie orabeoni.” It’s like their own term of endearment. Hee!

So, something from his jiscovery concert shown in the beginning of this video caught my attention. I had not paid much attention to it before because my heart was fluttering too much from the whole thing when I first watched it. And, simply just didn’t focus on it too much in detail. It has probably been dissected and discussed already, so I could be very well just repeating stuff. Haha. I’ll place it in a spoiler to shorten my post.

'cause I checked, and it is definitely not in the actual drama scene: not only JW does not smile there, but he basically pushes BH in the elevator putting his hand on her right shoulder/arm (I'll put the link to the video in the below spoiler, if you want to take a look for yourself)
I might be wrong, but to me it looks like the actors had finished shooting the scene and were just leaving together. Only that, in doing so, Wookie was about to put his hand on Hyunie's back to guide her. No big thing, sure, and it would be considered absolutely normal between friends or even colleagues in my country, but we know that Korea is different. And it might not be as conspicuous as putting his arm around her shoulders and walking away with her, but the fact that he is doing that almost unconsciously - while looking in another direction and possibly talking with someone else - speaks volumes to me.
