No, I don't think he has his ears pierced. I've never seen a pic of him with any earrings on.

he loves food and enjoy eating, but if he has a new drama/movie, he has to sacrifice just like what he did before. sacrifice for the love of his job is something that he wants to do, willingly. i don't expect a six pack from him too. just like @Ainee Etp said, even lanky one is fine for me LOL my personal opinion: he is now a rising star and might get more photo shoots in the future. there must be shots like in Bazaar. it's good to have a good body for that. he don't have to diet, just enjoy food and go to gym. with that type of body, he must have high metabolism. i don't see any fats
@anazs You mention some very sensible points. For his work, he would willingly make sacrifices. I think he'd do just about anything. I recall he even said once that he'd do a nude scene if the script called for it. Wish I could remember which interview that was in, but I am quite sure that's what he said because it struck me at the time.

Still no notification for me either when he posted, even though I turned off notifications from everyone else except 3 people + him. Frustrated. This means I will probably never catch any live IG if he does it again.
As for the muscles & 6-pack abs, sure they would be nice but PHS already has more than enough other lovely characteristics, so I am quite happy with the way things are now. The only reason I'd want him to exercise is to stay healthy and get to a normal weight. 6-packs are very hard to achieve in reality, and although I know he's gotten them before, I think having to live on chicken breasts & salads and sacrificing other foods (especially because he loves food) is very demanding. Guess I'm trying to say that as a fan I do not expect the 6-pack from him - not because I don't think he can do it, but because I want him to be happy and eat whatever he likes.

@philosophi when he just started his IG there was a time it took almost 3 months before he posted something again
but when he posted he will spam ig with so many photos lols..but lately though the longest is 2 to 3 weeks so his getting better in handling his account i guess.
Holy cow, I don't know how you guys survived those 3 months between his updates back then! I guess at 3 weeks now we should not complain, right? Today felt like a feast because of his update and the translation of the last part of his Harper's Bazaar interview that sik_usa from IG posted.
Thanks to @anazs for suggesting that maybe paring down the number of people you turn notifications on for in IG might affect whether you get all notifications (including PHS'). I will have to turn most off and just leave his & a select few on. Somehow I found comfort in the fact that I wasn't the only one missing his notifications though, thanks to everyone else who chimed in about this.

Btw, was this the longest he's ever gone without updating his IG? Last post was May 3, today is May 24 (at least where I am), so 21 whole days or 3 weeks. Anyone who has followed his IG for a long time know? Should I brace myself for lots of these long stretches?

I think I understand better now, thanks for explaining. As for celebrities enlisting in the military by the time they are 30, it appears to be according to Western age. I googled and it seems that the men born in 1987 are going this year (or already went in earlier this year) like: Lee Min Ho, T.O.P, and PHS's bandmate Hwang Kwang Hee. So if Hyungsik follows this principle, he won't go for another 4 years or so - although it could be anytime before that really, as it would be his choice. But judging from that article, he's not looking forward to it so he will likely delay it as long as possible.

I know that most of the time male Korean stars try to fit in their military service by 30, so does that mean 30 Korean age = 28 Western age?
Lastly, he said he wants to be in a fantasy movie like "Wolf Boy" - is that Werewolf Boy that Park Bo Young was in?

Haha, I remember that "tall drink of water" comment too. It is so accurate. I found these 2 gifs from Phoenix. That red zipper that peeks out when he jumps up is a killer
, esp. at the very beginning of the full video (which someone else posted a few pages back). I really like his outfit here. The shoes match the shirt, which match the jeans down to that red zipper, but it is not excessive because he's only got 1 layer of clothes on. The hat is so bada**. He doesn't need a stylist because he does fine dressing on his own, but I can understand he probably uses one now due to time constraints.
@jechoi1 mentioned watching the MNET 4 Things Show...I can't believe that he didn't set out to be an idol, because he is so good at dancing! The moves are so fluid, and it's like he feels the music to the extremities of his body, just like others here have noted. If he can be so good at something he didn't even set out to do, then it comes down to raw talent and a whole lottta hard work. Wow.

I agree with @jechoi1. The raw talent in his voice is evident because it is smooth and soft, emotive, and his range is pretty good, especially with the higher notes. But what it lacks is the boom - resonance, projection, volume. I am not musically inclined so I am not sure what the name/term is for what I mean. In his recorded songs there are times when I wish his voice was stronger or louder. I have seen just a few clips of his musical performances and there, the projection seems to be better. But yes, if he could find the time then more voice training could make him a more well-rounded singer. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining here, because he is a already a good singer; but if he wants to do a solo album then he would need to be able to fill in the gaps that Kevin or Dongjun did when there were together in ZE:A.

If I may, I'd like to offer a brief tutorial for those who are not familiar with Instagram (IG). It is such a treasure trove of good PHS pics that I know I am not the only one putting IG pics on this thread. But if you don't have an account yourself, it can be easy to miss some fantastic photos or videos of him that others add here. Btw I found some scuba diving pics - I had seen the 1st & 2nd before but not the 3rd, so it pays off to scroll through. Here is my first sample:
If there are multiple photos in a post, then there will be a blue dot below the first photo, followed by faint grey/blue dots to denote how many more photos are in the post. Then, you just hover your mouse over the first photo and an arrow will show up on the right side. Click the arrow to get to the next photo.
Here is my second sample, which is a video:
In the top right corner, you should be able to see the outline of what looks like a movie projector or camera. This is how you know it is a video. If you can't see the outline then hover your mouse over the central image and the outline should appear. When you see the outline, then you can move your mouse towards the middle of the central image and a triangle appears. Click the triangle to start the video.
Hope this helps us all to view every single photo/video from IG that gets posted here. It's amazing how many fans he has now and they are constantly digging up old photos/taking new ones, or making new videos/memes/gifs. I only started on IG a couple of months ago and this is what I've learned so far.

I have seen the indoor sky diving in Singapore, and the parasailing in Bali that someone kindly shared a few pages ago. Gotta go watch Celebrity Bromance again now cuz how did I miss that mention of Thailand & Siwan? It was 1 of the first variety shows of Hyungsik's I watched but I must have been too giddy just looking at him to pay attention to what he actually said!
That swimming clip from Real Men is good. He beat the other guy across, although, that other guy was struggling. There are lots of clips on YT but most of the titles are in Hangul so I have no idea which to watch, or if they'd even have PHS in them. Thanks for pointing out this one!

As for swimming, (just guessing) he probably learn it after he fall down from a yacht during a photoshoot in 2011/2012. He already knows swimming when he went for Real Men. Seriously.. when I saw that accident in YouTube, I was shocked.
Yes, you're right that the first pic is from Law of the Jungle. If you hover your mouse over that pic though, you should be able to see an arrow pop up on the side, and clicking the arrow will take you to the 2nd pic, which shows his back - that is from Real Men. If that 2nd pic is not showing up after doing that, then I need to do better with sharing from IG. Please let me know if it doesn't work.
You're so good with remembering the dates! I guess after falling from the yacht, he must have had tons of motivation to learn to swim but I didn't know he had learned by the time Real Men taped. I have only been able to watch the 3 episodes of Real Men that I could find which were subbed in Eng, so I don't know if they showed any swimming in the other episodes.
It's so awesome that I asked some questions and you guys were able to answer them - thank you!! I hadn't known that he went to Thailand with Siwan, or that that's where he took a diving course. I love this forum, it's so informative!!

So why not just get it removed?

I found these 2 pics below on IG (hover mouse over image, look for arrow on right side to scroll through). The second one shows his back. He's wearing army pants so definitely this was during Real Men.
Because he is thin you can see quite a lot of definition. I was surprised at the amount of muscles though, because I know working out is not a priority for him. Guess he built these muscles doing things like archery, kendo, and dancing - activities I know he could do in 2013 when Real Men taped. He also can ride horseback (as we've seen in Hwarang 2016) and scuba dives, but does anyone know when he started scuba diving? I'm aware that he used to not be able to swim so he obviously had to learn that first. Does he have any other physical abilities/hobbies?

There is something I don't understand...I checked the first person's IG and there is a photo that she took with some of the cast and crew of Strong Woman when they were on the plane from Korea to Bali (not sure if PHS was on that same flight?). Then, she stayed at the same hotel as them in Bali. It feels like she has some insider info, because it cannot be so coincidental, just as @xscalsve said.
After Bali, she showed up in Singapore and she claims she waited 11 hrs for him at the airport (guess this part contradicts my insider info hypothesis, or else she would have waited less) and caught him on camera. I believe she went to the meet & greet. After that, she recounts that she ran into him 5 times at a shopping center. I didn't really see anyone else run into him at this shopping center, cuz I didn't see other postings on IG of it and I think you guys would have updated something on this forum too. She admits his manager knows her face by now because of the hotel stay in Bali.
Anyway, that is alot of traveling and run-ins within the span of a few days. These are continental destinations, not just within the limits of some city. Either congrats to her because she is rich and can travel at leisure, or this is some serious business.
I guess in the years he spent with ZE:A there might have been some incidents, considering there were 8 other boys that fans could swoon over. Ugh, the cost of fame.

they always attended events at SK, and all events went smoothly. here is always like this hehe.. unorganized. their people (in black outfit) were everywhere but nothing much happened. they didn't even do anything about the chair. they should check first right? Meet and Greet is even worse LOL. they put a table so i expected them to sit and there will be signing session. but what happened was the fans had to receive that toy with the table in the middle
2 hours was not enough but maybe they should cut off unnecessary questions during the interview

Hi to fellow newcomer, anazs!
So I got ahold of someone who was lucky enough to catch his IG Live. That person said that as long as you are on IG at the time, if anyone (hopefully PHS) goes live, then a notice pops up to let you know. You just click on the circle that shows up. You don't need to be specifically looking at that person's account or posts at the time, as you can be doing other stuff on IG and still get the notice. She said that it was only about a minute long so it was really easy to miss. Considering that he has 2M followers now and only 12,000 or 20,000 people (can't remember which showed on the screen capture I saw) caught him live, that's only 1% of the people. I don't feel as bad now.
I think I saw a translation of what he said and it seems like he will be doing the IG Live thing more often so it's good I figured this out now.
Update: I checked screen caps again. When he started the live feed it was 15,000 then went up to 23,000+ towards the end.

Been busy the last few days, never got a chance to thank @blackberrypie for the first translation above, and for the FB details in the second posting, also above.
I saw this wonderful drawing on IG, just have to share with you all:
