  1. My thoughts are still all over the place but I would just like to take a moment to applaud the insane camera work in this episode, especially with the scene where dms catches up to dhs from behind and leads his way in the forest. It is so rare that the camera captures the moment where  movement and emotion are so perfectly synchronized.

Also I am bracing my self for all the incoming posts about all the plot holes and "lazy" writing of the episode. I am afraid I will have to agree with them, so many makjang moments, but then again, u really got to give the writer credit for such detailed characterization. I know the situation is super far fetched but I still feel so much for the characters. The writer has been meticulous is capturing hyun soo's relationship with trusting others and himself and this is echoed heartbreakingly again and again in his dialogue. Even minor characters like detective I'm has a redemption arch. U can tell so much love has gone into writing these characters from scratch. This is seriously one of the best, if not the best Korean dramas I have seen, and not even amnesia and makjang moments can take that away.

BHS released the inner psycho beast of DHS

I can really heard the LOUD GULP. I wonder how many liters of saliva he swallowed.

He was trembling from fear. He probably pissed from his pants.

Never messed with a real hottie psychopath.

Pretty sure we're going to have a time jump because the text on that preview says "4 months later...their story"

    Here's a rough translation:

CJW: Breathe, breathe. It's already been 3 months. Just try to say anything because no matter what you say, it'll be fine. I hope that your father is happy.

I think the trial might be to clear DHS's name/charge him with what they can, like using a fake identity and such.

thank you so much, you saved my day!

  4. what does the preview say?

actually in this case, amnesia is not that bad, the character has suffered so much, amnesia is the least the writer can do for him.

he isn't wearing his ring in the preview, i wonder what happened.

I low key hoped that he died and maybe bhs didn't and he just reappears here and then as a vision to haunt bhs like how dms haunted dhs. But a happy ending is good as well. At this point in time i dont care if they used any trope, just bring it on, nothing can ruin this drama for me anymore. It's just that good.

  5. this episode broke my heart but also gave me hope?

they really do melodrama well (am going to ignore all the other aspects).

He didn't die right? I have a feeling he lost all his memories. Please let it be real. If its just a memory, then its beautiful as well.

And Lee Joon Gi, that scene at the cliff, i will revisit again when i need a good cry/catharsis... i think this is really his best work, won't forget  his performance for a long long time.

  6. about the whispering in the cupboard.. who would have thought they're gonna give us the ASMR that we actually asked for?

anyway i dont think they're gonna wrap up the suspense part of the story decently, they just dont have enough airtime left to do that. So, I'm gonna ignore the various plot holes and concentrate on how the writer resolves Do Hyun Soo and Cha Ji won's love story. at least that part has been consistently good so far.

There's something I'm curious about, though. If Hae Soo dies in this episode, then did Jang Hee Jin wait to post about wrapping up filming until around the same time that others were finishing up? Or maybe there's some flashback scenes or something...

Also, random trivia information, Jang Hee Jin is actually a year younger than Lee Joon Gi

everyone is younger than joon gi except for  kim ji hoon who plays bhs i think hahahah

So in the preview I wonder if YSC ends up backstabbing DHS because his hands are tied with a leash it looks like. I wonder if maybe he was trying to be too ambitious in figuring out who he should give his loyalty or maybe BHS was promising him something so he went and backstabbed DHS to capture him. But it looks like they might be at the cliff, especially the last scene of the trailer when DHS is outside. I think that's where DMS said for BHS to dispose of the body.

I'm still curious as to who started or did what. In the situation of DMS and BHS I think DMS was the one who could manipulate BHS given that he automatically turned down the part of BHS suggesting that DHS be the one to kill her under what I think he said was that "DHS does everything you ask him to." But I wonder if they both did the killings together, but even if that, I wonder why DMS would tell BHS to get rid of JMS himself. Was it because DMS saw that there was a missing person's poster for her and confronted BHS on that? Because if they had been doing the murders together then he should've had no issue doing it together again.

i believe do min seok was using the poster to tell BHS that he's made a mistake. I think they had made an agreement that they would only hunt for people with no family so their crimes wont ever be uncovered. I think DMS was telling BHS that for this careless mistake, he is not going to help him, either he surrenders to the police or get rid of the body immediately.  BHS's ego was hurt, therefore he decided to kill DMS. I think maybe he pushed DMS down the cliff to make it look like a suicide? makes no sense for someone to hit their own head with a rock? why is the cliff suddenly such a convenient narrative device for everything?

  9. I really liked hyun soo and ji won's scenes this episode, for the first time in the entire show, they felt like real people to me, which makes it really sad as their situation is so unfortunate. and these 2 actors, their chemistry as a couple is almost criminal....from now onwards, i'm just gonna watch the show for their relationship and nothing else.

As for the ending, i guess it will end in a bittersweet way like how a melo would. Although the suspense part was enjoyable, i think they're gonna wrap it up real quick and instead focus on the individual characters' own tragedies (i.e. Hyun Suu's childhood)

I think hae soo is gone, i just hope Eunha will be ok after this, it must be terrifying.

I also think the resolution to Hyun soo's character will have a tragic melo ending:

    Spoiler

we've seen how he is starting to unravel from ep 13 onwards when he starts seeing visions of his dad again. Next episode, Hee Sung will definitely break his psyche completely by

    1) telling him about his past - i really hope it doesn't end up with him doing something bad to his mother... i have a bad feeling about this, its like the kid in the first episode who falsely accused his father to save his mother or something. I hope he didn't do anything to break his mother's heart in order to drive her away.

    2) Hee sung will show him ji won's badge as a killing trophy

    3) he will discover that his sister died

    4) everyone knows he is do hyun so so he will have a hard time

all these will possibly mean that his new found humanity will be snatched away from him briskly. I think psychologically he will be in a very bad shape by the end of the next episode and i dont know how he will recover from this.

then again the writer might surprise us all and have hae soo survive so that 16 is all about hyun soo's healing.

this is the first time i've watched a kdrama where i have no idea how it will end... i am just praying that whichever way it ends, its a proper ending, not like the wishy washy rushed endings that kdramas are known to have, if not its such a waste.

I put a rough translation of their conversation below. I may be wrong on some of the parts

      Hide contents

DHS: Give me 3 days, no, just 1 and then I'll return

CJW: You put a knife to my neck?

DHS: I'm going to run away and that was the only way to not make you my accomplice

CJW: You put a knife to my neck!

(picks it up to show her that it doesn't do anything)

DHS: It only looks like one, it's only for decoration

CJW: How would I know that? The important thing is that you put it to my neck

DHS: Okay. It's been 14 years that we've known each other and of course you knew nothing about what I did, but you, but as Detective CJW thought that you'd immediately figure out what I was doing

CJW: Are you angry at me?

DHS: Why would I be? I'm someone who is being accused in a murder case that my wife is working on

CJW: This isn't the time to be emotional about it

DHS: Me? I'm emotional? No, I'm crazy

(notices he's holding the fake knife near her and throws it on the table)

DHS: I'm sorry. JMS is alive

    CJW: What?

    DHS: YSC took JMS

CJW: What are you suddenly saying?

DHS: The police are on their way so we don't have time and I can't explain it. Jiwon-ah, I'll capture the real criminal with my hands and return right away

    CJW: I can't send you

(handcuffs herself to him as they hear police sirens)

when he tried to demonstrate how the knife doesn't actually cut, his palms got cut a little....i dont know whether to laugh or cry....

this entire show... i dont know whether to laugh or cry.

  11. It's a good episode but I am a little disappointed cause I was hoping thinking its the start of the battle of the brains between hyun soo and hee sung, but hyun soo is kinda.. Unimpressive? Have a feeling they're gonna wrap up the showdown with hee sung  real quick tmr, while ep 16 is gonna be a denouement episode. Kinda disappointed as hee sung was Such a promising villain.

For some reason I am glad that they postponed the episode otherwise I don't think I could have handled DHS saying wish me luck to Jiwon before going to confront BHS and then waiting for a week.

It's weird before we used to say Baek Hee Sung and Cha Jiwon but now we don't want to use the name Baek Hee Sung anywhere near Jiwon.

@violina Right at least they will talk to each other. They are both at fault. DHS hiding things from CJW despite Jiwon crying that she's disappointed and doesn't like it. CJW putting handcuffs on him before having a proper conversation with him.

Unexpectedly I am not as much angry at Jiwon as I thought I would be when they first showed DHS innocent and Jiwon playing with his mind. I thought I would blame her and defend DHS but instead I am finding myself understanding and justifying CJW's every action. Usually I take male lead's side during such situations but this time I think I am more on female lead's side.

Yeah I agree with u. Initially when she forced hyun soo to go to the basement, honestly I was a little impressed by how tough she was on her husband. This time round I also found her actions logical. Although for hyun soo I understand why he reacted like that. His character has suffered so much that his plans tend to be a bit manic/fatalistic.

Looking forward to the hotel room confessions. Like I said, while I enjoyed episode 11, parts of it felt 2 good to be true. Having them fight is more realistic (OK maybe not the knife to the throat kind of fighting).

  13. 2. Will someone die? Who? (you can choose up to 3 characters)

Ok the director did promise us that there will be a satisfying ending to the show, so lets put our deduction hats on and figure out who will die based on logic and exclusion. Because i would like to go to bed soon, I will just discuss the mortality of only our 4 leads (and assuming like BHS will definitely die, I mean its more or less a given).

    1) Scenario 1: Only BHS dies.
This is the best case scenario. Jiwon help Hae soo  blame the village head's death on BHS (due to the voice recording where he alluded that he killed the village head) and all 4 leads live happily ever after. This is the most satisfactory ending and it is most likely to happen.

    2) Scenario 2: BHS and Doo Hyun Soo die
This ending will break my heart, but i think it is the second most likely ending other than 1. In this scenario, Hae soo may or may not go to jail depending on whether Jiwon supports her to frame BHS (most likely she will for the sake of her husband). The 3 remaining characters work to clear Hyun soo's name to the world after his death. I won't say it's satisfactory, but its a common way to end a korean drama like this. This is the second most likely ending.

    3) Scenario 3: BHS and Kim Moo Jin die
Actually, Kim Moo Jin is really not that bad as a character. There is not much catharsis or redemption for the writer to kill him off, so I don't think this will happen. In fact, his character seems to be written for the sole purpose of taking care of hae soo should anything happen to hyun soo (I can feel my eye lids twitching already)... if he dies, hae soo is alone, and Ji Won and Hyun suu frames BHS for village head's murder, but it doesn't feel like a satisfactory ending, so i feel it is unlikely to happen.

    4) Scenario 4: BHS and Doo Hae Soo die
In the ep 14 previews, it seems the police get Moo Jin in for questioning and BHS is in Hae Soo's house. I hope Moo Jin does not leave hae soo behind while he is in the police station. if Hae Soo dies, Hyun Soo is likely to go to jail to protect her sister's memory. Ji Won, Moo Jin and Eunha are left on their own. Not a satisfactory ending at all, so very unlikely to happen.

    5) Scenario 5: BHS and Jiwon dies
This scenario seems unlikely but at the same time very likely as well, since the writer likes to throw us unexpected twists. I am most afraid of this as the more the story develops, the more it makes some kind of sense. Ji Won is Hyun Soo's saviour in so many ways, she taught him to let his guard down, to practice human emotions and eventually to own them. When he is at the employment agency, she calls him and rescues him in a way, when he was tied to the cupboard, she came to rescue him. When he was drowning, also Jiwon. In fact, saving hyun soo is like her full time profession and i fear she may step in to take a knife for him or something (foreshadowing much, anyone?)

in this scenario, Hyun Soo is likely to be devastated, and Hae Soo will insist on going to jail for killing the village head, and Moo Jin and Hyun Soo rides into the sunset with Eunha. This is... oddly satisfying in a way?? at least the moo jin and hyun soo part I can get behind.

What do you think, i don't know, i think its most likely 1 or 2, and on the off chance,5, but i really don't want 5 to happen.

@joybran  DHS overtake the life of real BHS after he completed his mandatory military service. So he kind of got exemption right. So it is possible that after his true identity is exposed to the public ( of course after proving his innocence) he have to serve the military.

I think hee song completed his service and hyun su was drafted on behalf of hee sung for re-service in 2005 when he took his identity. So in a way hyun su has been in the army before. But if he gets drafted after the show ends, I don't mind, joon gi looks hot in military uniform. Season 2 anyone?
