Not sure, the preview's scene was pretty fast.
But I wouldn't doubt that he did inhale the scent of the letter. When you have ultimately lost someone dear to you, it makes you desperate to find any traces of them. Be it scent, sound, touch, taste or visual.

@liddi in regards to 8th prince, it was more of the fact that she brought about the means of his death. Even though I agree it was a mercy.

I had a random thought and I believe it can fit her being "ruthless" but that is if the story ending will follow more like the C-Drama.
I'll put the rest in spoiler (contains C-Drama ending info)
SpoilerWhen Rouxi (Hae Soo in MLSHR) dies she leaves a letter for the 13th prince as well.
- In this letter she instructs him to visit 9th prince (who has been imprisoned in his room until death), 13th is to give 9th Yutan's (CR's) blood letter and to give him poison. 9th curses Rouxi (Hae Soo) for not letting him die in peace because of his regret towards Yutan (CR).
- The other visit 13th was instructed to make was to 8th prince in prison and to also give him poison.
This all meaning that Rouxi (Hae Soo) is the one to kill 8th & 9th princes.
That makes a very ruthless Hae Soo in my opinion.
LOL and she was always telling Wang So to not harm or kill his brothers...

I agree that it's a very hurtful thing for her to do. Although looking back I can see where she may have got the idea.
While she was praying at her stone piles Jung came up to her and saw her hairpin..
Then told her like before that he would take her away from the palace if she wished it. To say "I am willing".

If she is found to be pregnant (by So of course) after she leaves with Jung, wouldn't that cause another misunderstanding? I guess it could work considering the C-version..

SpoilerWhere 14th gets tired of being spied on by people reporting everything back to 4th.
In the C-Drama he creates a misunderstanding by making it appear that Rouxi (this would be Hae Soo) is now intimate with him. This caused 4th to get mad and cancels the spying/reporting and ignores them until.... (the C-drama ending still is like a knife to the heart)

My earlier post got me thinking more so I've made a little list of possible reason our Wang So blows up in anger at the finally revealed relationship between one Wang Wook & one Hae Soo
1) As stated above Soo had accepted Wook proposal before but never accepted So proposal. (She may not have told Wook to his face "yes" but came damn close to. She said "yes" when speaking to Court Lady Oh.) And it very may well be IMPLIED that she fully accepted when the reveal happens. How is So to know otherwise?
2) Wook cornered So with the marriage to YW (taking away his dream of being happy and ruling with his lover as his queen)
3) Back in the beginning when So first thought of Soo as "his" after saving her from a beating, Wook showed up and said the equivalent of "No, she is MINE"
4) Hell for the many times he's made a guess on who her previous love was and she never said who.
5) Soo asking for leniency on Wook during the Yo/ Wook 1st rebellion
6) The fact that Wook didn't help Soo when she was in the jail being tortured after So gave him the information he needed.
7) His suspicions with Wook regarding the poisoning/downfall of Mu. He doesnt trust him but seemed to tolerate it for Soo. Don't get me wrong, So still looked for evidence & if he found any I just know he would act on it.

About the So & Soo date proposal... Her wanting So to propose to her seemed like her wanting one dream to at least come true even though she "had" to decline. It reminded me of the boat date in reverse, they meet up but one of them can't act or say what they want to because of an ultimate decision they made. Another parallel would be the preview for each. SBS showing us something that promises to be all we want for them and it ending up to be so bittersweet.

King So/GJ is going through so much turmoil & all that he wanted & dreamed of protecting is slipping through his fingers. He's more and more agitated by everything that is surrounding him & burying him with the rules of the palace & the politics of securing the country.
So many are working against him to split him from his Love & foundation that is Soo. After she (Soo) dies, those forcing his hand better pray/beg for mercy. He'll be clean out of mercy.

Oh my! The still pics & the previewed scene!
IU is freaking gorgeous! The still of So resting his head brought me back to a similar scene from Empress Ki that I loved (Ta Hwan & Sueng Nyang)
In the scene with Queen Yo harassing Soo in front of Jung, I was so disappointed with Jung for just letting it happen. He did speak up & move towards his mother but he remained behind her at all times. Where King So (love being able to say that!) enters the room & immediately puts an end to his mother's rant at Soo & places himself between them. He protects Soo. Jung just seemed to hope for the best... As indecisive as Wook... there is said it lol

It seems like many of you, I spend much of my time re-watching this lovely (wonderful, amazing, obsessive) drama. I usually skim through to the parts concerning Wang So and Hae Soo.
This latest episode both crushed my heart (Eun & SD...,/ Wang So & Hae Soo break up...,/ time lapse) and patched it up quite nicely (reconciliation between Wang So & Hae Soo). The kiss was amazing!
The cuddling was so warm! Then Ji Mong stepping in and .... D A M N it Ji Mong!!!
There is one part of episode 16 that kind of sticks out as ODD to me. After King Yo squeezes and hurts Soo's wrist, the next time So & Soo run into each other is near the water in the back hug scene. But when the scene opens, So appears to be distraught and defeated. He turns around almost staggering with his arms just limp. Then sees Soo.
I keep feeling like something or some context was missing from this one. What was he thinking of that made him get like that? Is there a missing scene that explains why he looked so weak/defeated prior to Soo appearing? He seemed fine, albeit very angry, after Yo hurt Soo's wrist.
Who knows, I may be over analyzing but it just keeps sticking out whenever I see it.
I'm with you all on LJG doing a spectacular job in his portrayal of Wang So! It's disheartening to hear that he is worrying over the TV viewership ratings. @akinahana89 I want to join in on the Support Project but I'm nowhere near a popular landmark... what do I do??

I looked back through the episode and honestly I don't know who she is writing to.
The sequence of events is as follows:
1) Has the "You are right" moment with SD and tells her "I will visit the astronomer (Ji Mong)"
2) Goes to "the loft" Ji Mong's/So's place and calls out for the absent astronomer
3) Writes a letter at the desk. Doesn't show HS give/send it to anyone.
I cannot read Chinese, so I haven't a slightest what is written here ^^
SpoilerHS left a letter. Where, at the desk? For Ji Mong to tell of the situation and get him to inform SD's father? For the General himself? or for So?

Hello everyone!
I've been lurking in the shadows since page 15 and have been desperate to be a part of the discussions (Had so much trouble logging into my old account).
Wang So x Hae Soo - I'm in love with THEM together. The spectrum of feelings they've made us all feel on the journey so far..
Episode 16's text preview about So being emotionally hurt vexes me. Some of you said she didn't lie to him, she just omitted. Some of you have said that So is hurt by her lies (lack of trust).
BUT didn't she write So or Ji Mong a note explaining the situation?! Remember she had that change of heart (thanks to SD) and searched for him, albeit too late. Hopefully that comes to light sooner than later and aides in them reconciling.
On a side note, it's good to be back. Haven't been this
obsessed"inspired" by a K-Drama since Gu Family Book.-
