Egyptian Magic Cream- I didn't experience any great effects or differences in my skin like the majority of people claim the product to give - I started experiencing redness and odd rash like symptoms. If anything, I believe I'm more convinced than ever now (after a disastrous try at the OCM a few years back) that my skin is allergic to olive oil (which this product contains).
And I noticed many people mentioning Bio Oil made you guys break out. Figures - I'm positive most of you didn't bother checking the ingredients list. Bio Oil contains a high level of mineral oil, something you all should steer clear of in your products. I cannot tell you how many products contain mineral oil or components of it (petrolatum, liquid parrafium whatever that ingredient is called). This ingredient is comedeogenic and is harmful to your skin overtime - it forms a layer over your skin, suffocating your pores. No joke.

I haven't looked in the previous 13 pages but does anyone know to what extent the plot resembles the true story of Lee Young Suk? I'm guessing only the whole business venture of the Fresh Men is real but I saw on DramaFever from comments that part of the whole Ga On/Jin Shim/Tae Yang story is real too?
I would think this whole mom making a girl pose as her daughter is too drama-like to be something that really happened in real life but...does anyone know? I tried Googling Lee Young Suk for anything on his biography but I've found absolutely nothing.
Anyways, I'm really liking this drama every week and I think everything is getting better and better. I've seen people complaining about how the plot's going down and also people annoyed by Hwang Shin Hae (actress who plays Ga On's mom). I personally think her performance is frightening and believable, and like I've said before - I'm really glad Wang Ji Hye got the lead female role for this drama. She has so much potential and I really cannot wait to see what she can really show us once all the ish hits the fan later on. Ji Chang Wook is also doing a great job and he really comes off as charming.

Haha I was wondering the same thing. I made a post above in the beginning of August, thinking I was going to miss out on this thing since I was going out of town for an entire month. I checked this thread upon going back home and was surprised this thing didn't happen, especially given that August is a good time for most people (students).
Now that school has started it might be a bit hard for people to meet up, but yeah I hope this thing happens!

I've been in Shanghai for a week now (I'm just visiting) but bring your own napkins and tissue paper. Public places like restaurants and restrooms provide NO PAPER.
And for those with sensitive ears, just FYI - drivers in Shanghai honk continuously for no reason. There can be NO CARS in front of them and they will just hold down the horn and honk all the way while zooming by. Get used to it.
Foreigners and ABC's are sniffed out from miles away, and yeah like said - you will get stared at.

Yeah I really don't like the whole drunk status posting on Facebook. I had a former friend (and only "friend" as in "Facebook friend". Knew her since elementary to high school but never spoke a word to her. One of those "oh, I know her" friends that you add. I obviously deleted her since then) who would always just go crazy on Facebook posting about how drunk she was and yada yada and all her pictures would be of her acting a fool and stuff. Really stupid and it just screams for attention (and haha, yes while you did get my attention, you certainly lost my respect for you).
And I've also never understood the whole "acting dumb" ordeal. Just does a lot more bad than good.

I have a hard time pronouncing 日(rì) in Mandarin. It almost sounds like a "zhi" sometimes. IDK.
Kinda have to grit my teeth and curl my tongue on the "r" part. Ugh

I know I'm bringing a major one up from the dead, but I recently came upon this drama and it's been drawing me in episode by episode. But just as luck would have it, this drama has become one of those where ONE episode is impossible to find across all mediums online, hence making it impossible to watch the other episodes.
Episode 8 is impossible to find anywhere. All existing links have died or have been taken down. Anyone know where I'd be able to watch or download Episode 8?
EDIT: Episode 10 seems to be another episode unavailable everywhere (Looking at MySoju, since all the Tudou links work, but Episode 8 and 10 are on MySpace, which the videos are unavailable). I saw that someone generously posted Rapidshare links on the previous page, but each download is INCREDIBLY slow, not to mention these are not subbed either.

I use the whitening care facial milk lotion and it's honestly the best face product I've ever used. I'm not saying it's made my skin perfect in terms of appearance, but it's made my face extremely moisturized at all times. The product is so rich yet lightweight (watery)....I can just squeeze out a small amount and pat it into my skin and it just seeps right in.
I don't think it's done anything in terms of whitening, though.

I know I'm totally digging this thread up, but does anyone have ANY current information in regards to Yoo Ha Na? I mean, "Paradise Ranch" completely fell off the radar and never released. Last I remember hearing, Ha Na was having contract issues in Korea and Taiwan, which actually delayed the release of "Paradise Ranch". I've heard there were bigger regards in that her Taiwanese contract states that she is to star in like 3 or 5 dramas, but so far she's only done "My Lucky Star" and "Exit No. 6" (which was a movie, not a drama).
Anyone know anything? I really miss her and want to see more of her work.

I absolutely cannot stand the girls who on the weekly post up albums on FB of their wild partying, with all the booze and drunk red faced pictures included. "Oh yeah, look at me. I drink it up all the time while in my barely there shorty short shorts. And when I'm pretty tipsy, I love hugging and taking questionable pictures with shirtless drunk guys, but hey! - don't call me a sluht. Because my behavior totally doesn't reveal the type of person I am and the intentions that I have in posting these up."
And god, cakefaces. Love how someone else pointed this out, too. I love how these girls can just PILE IT ON THICKKK, even with their faces totally not matching their necks, then confidently strut out the front door. What I don't get are the girls who clearly have, well - clear skin. No need for cake whatsoever, yet you can just blatantly see the brush strokes and blobs where they didn't blend in too well. Not attractive.
Lastly of course, the "LV Neverfull/Speedy everywhere I go & I'ma boss" type of Asian girls (sadly 95% of the girls I see). Oh yeah whoopee doo, you're carrying LV. Too bad every other girl around you is carrying the exact same bag. You're not special, sweetie. And just a heads up that your bag is considered chump change compared to the better things LV has to offer. Trust me, no other Asian is gonna think, "Oh my God. She has an LV bag - a Speedy/Neverfull! She's rich! She can afford luxury!". PLEASE - typical, typical for an Asian. Every Asian (male or female) has something from LV. So don't think you're so princess like and *flip flip my hair, I'm a Wonder Girl* and can let that bag tinker from your elbow while you go about rudely bumping into people without apologizing and giving other people dirty looks. If you're happy with the bag you're carrying, that's great. But no need to be haughty and rude and forget about common courtesy.

I'm sure there isn't a "secret", but then again, I'm sure everyone knows Asians are OBSESSED with skin care, and Koreans are infamous. We all know the ahjummas who have like 7 step skin care routines.
I think it's just, like many girls have personally spoken about in this thread, - skin care, and a solid routine since they were young. I know Koreans have like 482148293 serums and essences and emulsion and all this stuff I don't know too much about, with multiple masks and double cleansing and millions of toners. Argh it's all a headache. I always thought way too many products would be overkill for the skin, but I guess these are all bought in product sets (ex. Laniege, Missha, The Face Shop, etc). And I think we all know skin care is not the only thing that gives a great complexion. I always though Korea's general diet of spicy food would be bad for the skin, but...from what most people are saying...apparently not? I'm thinking maybe the whole lifestyle thing w/ the saunas and all may help?
And as a guy, I'm actually more curious as to what males (more specifically the male celebrities) use. I'm sure it's not far too different, but I know they're not using 24094224 products like the women are. And I know there's always make up or BB cream, but I'm just dead curious.
And just my add to the weather factor - I've never been to Korea, but I've gone to Taiwan many many times (the weather's pretty much the same), and...my skin actually gets worse when I go to Asia. I think it's because of the heat when I always used to go during the summer. Kills me. So Cal is terrible during the summer too, but it's not HUMID like Taiwan is.

In general, East Asian culture just views smaller faces as more attractive. It's the fact that it's petite and all that but most importantly, I've heard it's because small faces photograph very well.
I'm a guy and I have a small face too. My mom is always like "You look good in photos because your face is small". Besides that pro, I also kind of don't really see what's so good about a small face. I have disadvantages, like caps and hats in general - I look terrible with those (my head in general is small
), and when I have very short hair, my head looks weird. I don't know. It's still different for everyone.I haven't gone to the extreme like some do by measuring their facial proportions or trying to fit "the golden ratio", but I do know that a CD or a outspread hand pretty much cover my entire face.
I guess you should be happy your face is small. I mean, you're Asian...and Asians like small faces. So. Haha

I'm surprised some people are actually surprised that there are girls out there like this. It's nothing to "OMG" about because I think a lot of people are becoming image conscious starting from a young age. I've seen freshmen girls plopping Speedys and giving beepass attitudes all over like they're the ish. Not cute
As for dressing provocatively, I think girls are feeling pressure from the media to look "sexy", so they start dressing in revealing ways at a young age.
And what I personally think...well, like said - I'm not surprised. But when one of these young beezies crosses the dark side with me, boy - she's gonna get a major beatdown. I've been rudely pushed and cut in line by these young 14, 15 yr old girls before, and let's just say - I don't have any of it. Any.

Overcast all the way up into mid afternoon.
I know a lot of So Cal people have been yappin' about the non-summer-like weather lately, and I honestly don't see the big deal; it's not like So Cal never had a summer w/ many overcast days (sure they're rare, but they have happened). It was continuously overcast for weeks on end back in summer 2003 (I specifically remember because I had to walk home from summer school everyday that summer). And even with the overcast weather, it's still HOT.

For me, I feel like I was a lot better looking a kid, and now nearing a young adult, I'm definitely not as good looking. Bleh. Whatever

Alright, thanks. That really cleared things up.
I figured the whole fake daughter thing was too dramatic to have been real and was made up for the drama's purposes, but it's good to be clear on all that.
