O my god, the TT dance. I cracked up so hard. He freakin nailed it. LOLLL

K-pop is really not my cup of tea, but I'm still amused at his energetic performance  . I recognised the dance from the TT sign, coincidentally saw it in Hello Counselor, the girls group was the guests and I remembered the dance cause they explained it was inspired by emoji. I think he danced better than the original girls group. LoL

I also find Goblin's meticulous visual quality is really on another level. I thought, SHR was the best, but now I see Goblin's much better prepared. Fortunately, or unfortunately SHR hit my weakness with Wang So the wounded prince. It's also blessed with hard-to-deny captivating story and intriguing characters, I still couldn't trade its place in my heart with any other drama.  I've sunk to deep.

I survived the second episode of Goblin, cause thank god they don't have any SHR look alike scene anymore. Please don't do any flashback to Goryeo era, my heart seriously couldn't take it. I'm happy there're a lot of comedy, I decided this to be my rebound from SHR, while counting down to Sherlock in January :). I hope the PDs are not as sadist/BS as SHR's.

I think Goblin director is a bit perfectionist because every scene is beautifully done.

We choose the same rebound drama for MLSHR breakup. I just hope we don't cry together again because of the ending.

Ohh.. I would love to find out more about the grandma who is now in a young woman's form. And what happened between her and Deok Hwa? Did she tell him something about the goblin and his bride?

And also from his reaction when goblin and grim reaper were arguing in Ep 2, he didn't realise the the new tenant was the grim reaper?

I don't think he realise that is the grim reaper because he looks scared a bit. Maybe he only see him as weird, eccentric, rich guy?

You are 101% correct! It is no joke indeed! I do agree with you about focusing...but could you tell me how if ever you did it chingu? :w00t:

I have to watch everything twice because the first time my brain still in MLSHR mode. Second watch usually better because I can focus to the story. It is annoying sometimes and wasting my time :sweatingbullets:. I just hope my brain can recover from MLSHR virus soon.

These are the things that grip my emotions when I watched Goblin, ep 1.  I connected most of the scenes to MLSHR.  I maybe finish this Kdrama. I am curios if this will be more of a character thing than an acting thing just like MLSHR, the character emerged out from LJK and the rest of the casts. This is the reason why, i fall in-love with Wang So and Haee Soo and hated Wang Wook and YH.

When people say MLSHR can ruin kdrama for you, that is not a joke. It is hard for me to watch other kdrama because I can't stop comparing. I have to focus much more to the story so I can forget MLSHR to finally enjoy the drama.

I agree with you about acting vs character things. MLSHR succeed in creating iconic characters more than just good acting. You can trully fall in love or hate the characters. It was fun :).

I checked in here just to ask the same thing :)  ( I took a time off from here in order to gather the last bits of my remaining discipline and finish my work)

My view on Goblin: exceptionally stylish, indeed great repartee between the leads, masterfully edited  etc etc. So far, it is filmed/writen by the book (where the book is "how to film/write a masterpiece Kdrama in 2016".)

    BUT
My feelings/reactions while I was watching it: all the time I was picturing/applying  scenes/techniques/dialogues  in the context of MLSHR, mostly played by  Wang So/LJG, e.g, when the general stripped himself of his armor in a blitzmovement, I  spontaneously thought Wang So should have done this. :)

In sum, comparing the concept/performance of the directors/writers of the two dramas, Goblin´s director and writer seem to  perform way better than  MLSHR´s- Goblin is very balanced: and maybe this is exaclty the reason, that though I enjoyed Goblin it does not grow in me like MLSHR. For me, one of the fascinating elements of MLSHR is exactly that it is (or, rather seems) unbalanced. One moment was tacky, the other was elegant, one moment was dull and then bum! etc etc. Regarding this aspect,  MLSHR  is once again more close to real life.

So, though I recognize the shortcomings of MLSHR (if the dialogues were wittier, if the editing was smoothier, if this and that blah blah), I still consider MLSHR the most interesting, captivating Kdrama I watched ( and I watched plenty). The analogy I can find from film industry/culture is that I hold MLSHR dear the same way Hitchcock´s hardcore fans hold dear his flops "vertigo" and "marnie".

p.s:Dear all, I miss us. Maybe we  should form a transnational fangroup, with  e-meetings and (why not?) rl-meetings where we can indulge to cosplay, and other, MLSHR related, activities. (martial arts, chrysanthemon tea brewing, hairpins contests, poisoning rivals etc etc )  ;)

    @ruizaiothank you for the info.

editing: and of course,  no other drama (Goblin included)  than MLSHR offers LJG´ s performance as Wang So.

We can be the new trekkie

@antiherofans Let's call him mini Gwangjong, or Gwangjong replica. :D He has zero charisma compared to So, though. B)

Maybe black king robe is 2016 trend, so do General Park and his teeth. LoL

    2016 kdrama trend:

    1. Rain scene (they used it everywhere)

    2. Goryeo Era

    3. Black King Robe

    4. Long Hair Male Lead + Black outfit

    5. General Park and the teeth

    6. Past Life then meet in the future?

I was watching Goblin, and when the king in black robe appeared in a distant ( couldn't see his face yet), I mentally shouted:

    Wang Sooooooooo

Yes, couldn't help but thinking about the rain ritual too.

How am I supposed to watch any period movie from now on............o, my heart.....

Joon Gi - shi you better came up with new film project, very SOON. I swear I can't live like this.

The black rope is so similar LOL. I keep thinking Gwangjong because I don't know the king's name. So I refer him as the king that look like gwangjong (even when they are not look alike).

I've checked it, and so far I'm loving the plot. Same as you, I can't help but notice the similarities at the Goryeo scenes, especially the locations they used. Some of them are using the same locations as MLSHR setting, like the scene where Goblin came home from the war and being framed as a traitor, it's also the same location where Wang So did the rain ritual. And I was like,"Okay, no escaping MLSHR whatsoever, huh...? It's been a month, and every major drama seems to have that piece of thing, either the story or the visual, that reminds me of MLSHR. How the freak am I going to live this down!?"

I have to say I totally agree with you. I like Goblin plot (especially like the sageuk part, the sword, the ship scene is cool) but I don't think the addiction level is the same level as MLSHR to me. MLSHR manage to steal my heart in the first episode and there is no turning back. Goblin is a good drama but I can still breath normally and well, not turn me into crazy person.

I can't stop seeing similarity. The Goryeo era, the clothes, the rain scene (why they always use rain in every drama lately?), the cloak, etc. At least every time I watch Goblin, I will always remember MLSHR. MLSHR is my Hae Soo :sweatingbullets:. My one and only love.

I feel you chingu!! It is a grey Sunday morning in the Northwestern of USA and I decided to cheer the morning up by re-watching Running Man with my cup of coffee.  I picked random episode 168. Guess who was the guest? Of course, IU was. Guess what was the theme? You have to choose a card between a lamb card or a wolf card. Guess which one did IU chose? You got it right......! The wolf...

My thought immediately,..... Wang Sooooooo... and I ended up re-watching episode 14 SHR. So much for trying to move on...

I also watched this episode yesterday . When IU picked wolf card my mind suddenly think "This show predicts the future. Destiny."

After that, I randomly choose episode to watch. I end up watching eps 217 and the guest star is Kim Sung Kyun (Jimong).

Did the universe make some joke to me or something?

I really badly need a break due to depression and stress after MLSHR. I am going to pamper myself for this trip. I booked 3 days straight for massage and spa. Manicure and pedicure. Forget about my debts and stress over MLSHR while I got pamper. hahahaha!!

Hahahhaha we all need a break after MLSHR. That drama really destroy us, physically, mentally and financially.

I usually watch kdrama for comfort and to forget real life problems for a while. But watching MLSHR is totally different experience. This drama force me to face the truth about life. The good, the bad and the ugly side of life.

But in the end, my love is too deep. MLSHR
