Like you, we are hoping for a drama from Soo Hyun before his enlistment. However, after the crazy ratings of those recent dramas, we reconsider our hope.
Soo Hyun is one of the minority who are not tempted by the financial gains and to venture into C-drama. Reasons we can think of are:
1. most if not all the good scripts will be given to their own popular stars in China;
2. riding on the popularity of the stars on one or two successful dramas are dangerous as the craze on the actor/actress will subside/fade by the time the C-drama is ready to put on show; Of course Soo Hyun is exceptional. His popularity is still as unrivaled as 2 years ago.
3. language and culture barriers;
4. Respect for his own country. He love his country and his people more than the gains to reap. He choose (our opinion) to be deeply loved and respected in his own country before extending to the outside world through other promotions. We are very sure that if given the choice, those actors/actresses who opted for C-dramas may not be willing to do so. Soo Hyun has the power through his own hard work to say "NO" if he did not want to.
Having said that, will it hurt Soo Hyun more than anyone if the ratings of his drama is not as expected? He sacrifice tremendously and the hurt will be deeper than normal. Of course, all of us should have that confidence that whether movies or dramas, the ratings will never changed.
Totally agreed with you dear, it's just my greed to see him.

i like songsong couple, but i prefer jongjoo (honey couple) because of their relationship in on/off-screen. i think it's more cute and natural than songsong couple. (i dont say that songsong couple is not natural, but like what i said i prefer jongjoo couple :))
