Guest dabrain
of course ... universities have t3 (which means 100 mbit sdsl ... or theoretically 12 MByte/s)
Guest Classic Example
I know it's not that big of a deal but my speed dropped 21 kb/s. I can definitely feel the effects >.< Anyone know why?

dot1q
of course ... universities have t3 (which means 100 mbit sdsl ... or theoretically 12 MByte/s) A T3 is 45mbit (not 100). Comparing only throughput between a T3 line and a SDSL line is like comparing apples to oranges (hence why it costs considerably more than a sdsl line). Same goes for comparing a T1 (1.5) to a regular dsl (1.5) lines. It's not just about the speed. Also, most major universities use multiple oc-3 (155) and oc-12 (622) lines with some using gigE (1000) and 10gigE (10000) lines.
