I know it's not that big of a deal but my speed dropped 21 kb/s. I can definitely feel the effects >.< Anyone know why?

Damn Australia is so behind in internet speeds >_<

EDIT: Hmm it says on the site Australia's avg speeds are pretty good which is absolutely nuts

of course ... universities have t3 (which means 100 mbit sdsl ... or theoretically 12 MByte/s)

A T3 is 45mbit (not 100). Comparing only throughput between a T3 line and a SDSL line is like comparing apples to oranges (hence why it costs considerably more than a sdsl line). Same goes for comparing a T1 (1.5) to a regular dsl (1.5) lines. It's not just about the speed.

Also, most major universities use multiple oc-3 (155) and oc-12 (622) lines with some using gigE (1000) and 10gigE (10000) lines.
