Guest toomuchkimchi
I am not Vietnamese, some times I use "Nguyen Minh Khoa", I used to think Khoa was a such a masculine name, and quiet common. But I don't use it professionally, just for fun, but maybe in the future i'll have one. I always find it funny with Expats with Hong Kong agencies with their Chinese names on their Business cards. toriii_miiin
lol I've always wanted to know this, so I might as well ask it in a Vietnamese thread - how do you pronounce Nguyen?! =O
Guest jsm317
lol I've always wanted to know this, so I might as well ask it in a Vietnamese thread - how do you pronounce Nguyen?! =O There's no word comparable in English. Americans pronounce it as Gwen, but that's obviously wrong.
Guest toomuchkimchi
lol I've always wanted to know this, so I might as well ask it in a Vietnamese thread - how do you pronounce Nguyen?! =O A good way to remember how to pronounce Nguyen, it's pronounced similar to "Win!", you'll see shirts saying "it's a Nguyen, Nguyen situation", I normally use word play to remember how to pronounce Vietnamese. Guest toomuchkimchi
Say song and stress the last syllable (ng). Keep this in mind and add "uieeen"-> ng + uieen... Luckily my name isnt Nguyen:D A friend of mine, when he was in High School his teacher would pronounce Nguyen phonetically "noo-gu-yen" he has the nickname "Noog" based of his teachers utter failure to pronounce his sir name.
